As much as Jae-Ha loved his freedom, he hadn't anticipated just how he'd feel now. It felt like his heart expanded two times over the moment he saw the both of them.
"Two girls." Yun announced, still holding one of them; twins, something neither Jae-Ha nor Yona anticipated.
"No dragon legs." Yun announced next as he offered for Jae-Ha to hold the youngest one. Yona was already holding the oldest daughter.
The rush of relief at being the only Rokuryuu still was immensely overwhelming as well.
Yet Jae-Ha had never seen anyone more beautiful than these baby girls, adorable little miracles.
Yun left the parents with their newborns, probably figuring that Jae-Ha and Yona could use a moment.
"We could name them after our mothers." Yona spoke up, breaking the near silence, and Jae-Ha looked at her in confusion. She went on, "Captain Gigan and Kashi."
Jae-Ha nodded, "Captain was the closest I've ever had to a mother, if you don't count Yun too."
Yona muffled a giggle or tried to by ducking her head down.
"He doesn't like it much when we call him our mother." Yona answered with a smile.
"Yeah, but he makes a good mom." Jae-Ha shrugged.
"He does." Yona smiled; it didn't matter that Yun is a year younger than her, he is sort of the mom of the group regardless.
"Which little girl should be Gigan?" Jae-Ha asked as his wife looked up.
"Maybe the oldest?" Yona answered, hugging their oldest baby girl close.
Jae-Ha shook his head with a smile, "Then I'm holding little Kashi then."
"You don't mind naming her after my mother?" Yona asked, a little nervous, because Il's reign was a controversial topic, and Kashi was his wife.
"I don't mind." Jae-Ha shrugged. "I never got to meet them." It was odd how there was an element of sad wistfulness to his voice.
"But you never..." Yona couldn't find the right words to finish that sentence.
"You and Hak think of your father highly, and a king is also a human." Jae-Ha shrugged. He'd only wondered what the king and queen were like after he and Yona drew closer. And really, Jae-Ha's feelings were a little mixed up now, as if they were given a good old shake and hadn't settled.
"Thank you." Yona had tears in her eyes, and Jae-Ha wondered how his words could possibly be a gift when they had two little daughters, precious gifts of their own.
"You're welcome." And Jae-Ha's voice even went soft as they stood in their makeshift delivery room or Jae-Ha stood rather and Yona laid down. Jae-Ha had never felt more free and alive before today and these moments here with Yona and their twin daughters.
