Just a lil Christmas fic since I havent posted in a while. Its cute and fluffy
Amanda was grateful to have the night off and Christmas Day off. As she did request it. After this shit show of a year, the resurgance of covid. It laid low for a while and now came back with a vengence. Fucking omicron. She always thought of some transformers shit like the auto bots or deceptocons. Thankfully she was fully vaccinated herself. The issues with her father had really done her in. He was in a rehab home for the time being with that crazy ass stepmother of hers. The one he seemed to be afraid of now that there was a life policy out on him. She was stretched thin. One thing she was proud she hadnt done was turn to drinking and gambling. Her two children hadnt been able to be as their age hadnt been approved yet. So here she was home with her kids and relaxing. Jesse and Billie enjoying the tree and christmas cartoons on.
Olivia was on the otherside of town, relaxing. Thankful herself that she had the night and tomorrow off. She needed it. After all that had gone down this year she needed it. Losing a detective after she got hurt on the job and decided to leave on her own terms as well as a chief and the new chief that is standing in she certainly didn't see eye to eye with. It was a tough year. Then after ten years her ex partner came back. That was a shit show. Elliot caused more trouble than he was worth. Then the death of his beloved wife Kathy. Now she and Kathy hadn't seen eye to eye at all. She had gone to the funeral and even stayed in touch with the kids. She wasn't too comfortable with El. For good reason he had upped and left for ten years. Within that time she moved up all the ranks and was now the captain of her squad and had adopted a son.
"Mom, can we call Aunt Amanda and see what she and the girls are up to? The girls dads arent around and neither is mine. I'd like to spend Christmas with them. Plus I'm sorry mom, I don't like Mr. Elliot. He bosses me around too much and he doesn't know me. I don't like him mom. I've heard you up lately crying because of him."
Olivia looked at him, she hadn't known he felt this way about Elliot. They did say that kids were the best judge of character. "Well sweetheart I can see what Aunt Amanda is up to and if she wants to. But a question first, how come you never told me about your feelings?" He looked at her, "cause I know how you feel about Mr. Elliot. But he's not my dad. You're my mom and you can tell me what to do. He wasn't nice to me and when we were out for Mrs. Kathy's funeral his kids weren't nice to me either and they said very mean things about you. So I would rather spend Christmas with people who are nice to both of us and plus Jesse and I like to play and will even include some things for little Billie. Please...Please... Mommy."
"Yes, I'll text Aunt Amanda and ask her. But remember too sweet boy she's been through alot this year too." He nodded that he understood, and sat while she texted Amanda.
"Hey Amanda, Noah and I were wondering what you and the girls of course Frannie included were up to for Christmas eve and day? He wanted to know if you wanted to join us and yes Santa told him as he watches me text this that he would come for the girls if you all are to come over? - Olivia"
They sat and waited for Amanda to text them back. Noah was very anxious. There was just something about his aunt and the girls that he felt safe around and knew they truly wanted him included. Olivia had put the marathon of "A Christmas Story" on. How the both of them loved this movie. Laughing at all the antics of a boy and his dream to have a red-ryder bb gun. 'You'll shoot your eye out' was just heard as her phone went off. Noah started smiling as he heard the notification go off. "Is it Auntie? Huh? Is it Auntie? I hope it's Auntie and she brings the girls and Frannie over." Olivia smiled, the love this boy had for Amanda and her girls was something. "Hold on sweetboy, let me check the text." She looked at her phone, it was indeed from Amanda.
"Hey Liv, You don't know how much I appreciate that offer. It has been a tough day and I can't get out of my own way so to speak. But yes if you want us to come overand by the way 'Hi Noah' then I'm game. I'll have to let Santa know that we will be at a friends house. You sure you don't mind him coming triple for your house?"
Olivia chuckled as Noah almost tackled her on the couch. She told him that it looked like Amanda would be coming over. "Noah, you crazy child let me text her back. She wanted to make sure Santa wouldn't mind dropping gifts here for the girls." He smiled and screamed "Yay, we can make Santa fresh cookies tonight."
Olivia smiled and nodded yes. She text Amanda back.
"Amanda you know that won't be an issue. Noah and the girls can make cookies. And we can get all the stuff ready for Santa. Feel free to shoot over when you're ready. I'll have all the cookie stuff out and ready for the girls to join in on. Be safe."
Amanda told her excited girls that they were gonna go to Auntie Liv's and to go draw her a picture for Christmas. She then told Frannie to stand guard as she loaded up the jeep with their santa gifts. It took her all of a half hour to get all the stuff loaded thankfully all already wrapped. When she came back in and was packing her bag the girls came out. Jesse leading a toddling Billie. It was such a cute sight, she hoped they grew as sisters and loved each other unlike her and Kim. "Are you girls ready for some fun with Auntie Liv and Noah? I bet you are." The girls cheered "So Santa is gonna come for us at aunties, mama?" Amanda shook her head "of course my girls. You girls have been very good this year and I told him while I was packing my bag. He made a quick stop when he heard the chatter of two excited girls coming down the hall."
She loaded all them and Frannie into the car to go to Livs. "And we are off" Just as she turned the radio on a song called "Christmas Star" came on. Very cute and catchy and easy to sing along to. So they did, the best they could without knowing the song.
Christmas Eve-Olivia's House
Noah heard the knock on the door. Excitedly running to the door, of course knowing better to wait for his mom to come to the door before he opened it up. When Olivia opened the door, Billie plowed into her "Auntie up.. Auntie up." Of course Olivia picked up the little girl and ushered Amanda, Jesse and Frannie inside. Noah telling Jesse that the cookies were all set and ready to go for decorating. Jesse squealed with excitement and Olivia put Billie down in the highchair next to the table. "Make sure you kids give her some to do as well okay." The kids nodded and went right to work. She looked over at Amanda who was smiling from ear to ear just seeing how happy her girls were. This simple gesture of coming over to family made them so excited.
"Thank you Liv. So much for this. It truly has made their night. They were so excited. They have gotten so close to Noah and you."
As if on cue Jesse brought over the picture that she and Billie had drawn for her. Olivia had tears of joy it was just so sweet. "Thankyou sweethearts. I love my lil nieces and my son." Noah looked at Liv.
"What about Auntie Amanda mommy. You always tell me how much you love her and that her friendship means so much to you."
Olivia's cheeks turned red and boy were they hot. She couldn't speak. As if to make it worse so to speak Jesse piped up.
"Mama see Auntie Liv does the same thing. How much she loves you and that her friendship means the world."
The kids quite proud that they made their moms blush. They went to work on their cookies. Olivia showed Amanda the back entrance so she could bring the girls Santa stash in without being noticed. "Tonight will be fun once these big mouths go to bed huh? I have plenty of wine and we can sit up and talk if you like."
Amanda agreed on that. They joined the kids and made a few cookies. They had bout two dozen cookies that they snacked on and set aside a few for Santa, well double the cookies cause of there being three kids. Both Amanda and Liv were loving how the kids were sharing and teaching Billie how to do it. It warmed their hearts. Soon it was time to hang their stockings, read their story, pick the cookies for Santa and his milk of course. Liv had picked up carrots and reindeer food for the reindeer as well. After all of that, they finally got the kids all settled down and in bed.
Time for wine...
When they came back to the living room, Olivia brought out the wine. Sitting on the couch with a little space between them they finally relaxed. It was nice, it wasn't a stressed quiet but a nice one. This was when they both realized something they hadnt felt in a long time. Comfortability and no anxiety or fear. They both had a hard time trusting and getting close to anyone. But Olivia had one thing on her mind...
"So Amanda, I'm glad you decided to come over with the girls. It felt like a true family Christmas Eve. We haven't had that in the longest time. I want more of that. More importantly with how important you are to Noah and the girls are too. I want more of that family with you."
Amanda was shellshocked. "Wait a minute. What? Can you repeat that? Cause I'm not sure if I heard you correctly." Amanda waited for Liv to repeat what she said so she could see if she heard right.
Olivia looked at her, playing coy "Repeat what Amanda? What is it you think you heard me say? I'll tell you if you heard me right."
Amanda laughed nervously, "The end of your statement you said 'I want more of that family with you.' So what is that meaning? Cause that can mean a whole lot of things."
Oh how Olivia was in a somewhat playful mood, "Well what would you like it mean?" Olivia chuckled "I mean it can like you said mean alot of things. So Amanda what do you want it to mean?" Amanda blushed, she did have a crush on her boss slash best friend but didnt want to admit it either if Olivia wasn't into her.
"Okay you want honest truth. I'll tell you. You however have to promise me that you won't shun me or think of me any different."
Olivia nodded her head. She was infact teasing Amanda a bit just cause she had some feelings herself. She wanted to see if they were on the same page at all.
"Amanda I guess this was my way to find out things. I do have feelings for you. I have for quite some time believe it or not. I mean just seeing you with Noah and how you interact with him does me in everytime. Noone except for Rafa got down on his level and you do like its natural. And the way we talk, the way there's comfortability in the way we are with each other."
Amanda looked at Liv once more. Her heart thumping in her chest. Liv was really confessing feelings for her on Christmas Eve. Like was Santa really listening. She couldn't believe it. Liv went on even more.
"Look the things we've been through we understand each other. And I just can't let go of how close Noah is to you. He was so afraid after Sheila. Didn't trust anyone other than me. But he trusts you and likes when you're around. As do I."
Liv got quiet after that, letting Amanda take in all that she said. She then suggested that they do Santa so they could just relax and possibly crash. Amanda agreed that it was a good idea to do the Santa incase they crashed. So they went and got the gifts they had hidden and set them up all along the tree. They made them look adorable and made sure to hang the stockings and take bites from the cookies.
As they finished and were standing up near the tree Amanda looked at Liv. "Liv, I am just stunned at the words you have said to me. Like it's things I've wanted to hear and at first I didn't believe it but hearing what you just said I'm letting myself believe that you have the feelings I do. I'm floored and I couldn't be happier. You've made my Christmas."
Olivia came closer to Amanda, taking her hand in her own. "So now knowing what each other is feeling. What do we do about it? And where does it go?"
Amanda looked in Liv's eyes, "I wouldn't mind. I like that we connect. I like that our kids get along and like to spend time with each other. And if you want to, I'd love to start something with you and have a loving family."
Olivia reached over and cupped Amanda's face gently. "Merry Christmas Amanda." She then closed her eyes and kissed Amanda.
So this was just a cute lil christmas fic. Hope to get back into my writing and tie up some stories
