In the vastness of space, where there was no concept of morning and evening, everyone was rested after the Christmas Party everyone had as soon as their mission on Planet Southern Cross ended.

The end of the mission was bittersweet. They had managed to save the universe from impending doom by way of a planetary explosion, but they also lost someone important to them, important to Lucky.

Lucky was by the Orion Battler's bridge, alone. He was looking out by the window, barely noticing anything other than the twinkling of stars far away and the vastness of space.

Lucky was grateful for Kotaro and the others for organizing a party for his sake, and to be fair, Lucky did enjoy the party, they called Christmas, despite circumstances.

Now…

Now, he just wanted to mourn for his loss.

Lucky kept repeating the final moments he had with his father. If things had gone according to plan, he could have saved his father.

Despite what Hammie, and everyone else, may think, the fact of the matter was that Lucky wasn't able to save his father. On some level, it was true, he managed to save his father from Don Armage's control, but he still end up dying anyway.

"You know, you didn't have to put up a front in front of everyone," Tsurugi commented as he stood beside the grieving man. "They would have understood."

"I know that," Lucky nodded. "Everyone put so much work that I can't help but be cheered up for a bit." He gave the man a sad smile.

"Everyone mourns for their losses in their own way," Tsurugi offered. "Not many people have the mental fortitude to put a smile on their face after experiencing what you did," He added. "That's legendary in a way."

Lucky responded with a nod as the two of them watched the stars and the vastness of space in comfortable silence.

One by one, the other Kyurangers began to file into the bridge and greeted each other. Not before long, everyone was in the bridge doing their own thing: Champ by the dumbbells; Naga and Balance talking to each other; Hammie and Garu talking about something; Shou and Raptor talking about their next course of action; Stinger subtly fussing over Kotaro, while the young boy talked about something.

"Ne, Kotaro," Hammie called for the youngest Kyuranger's attention. "You said Christmas was a holiday on Earth, but what is it?"

Kotaro fell silent at the question; he did not know how to answer the question.

"To tell you the truth, I don't know," Kotaro admitted.

"How do you not know?" Spada asked. "Isn't it a holiday on Earth?"

"It was just something we look forward to," Kotaro answered. "All I know is that it was supposed to be a holiday that could give us hope and maybe grant our long-time wish."

"Give hope, garu?"

"Grant wishes?"

"People say that Christmas was a holiday to celebrate and hope for your wishes to be granted," Kotaro answered. "Everyone simply looks forward to Christmas, the hope that Christmas gives us is enough for all of us to cheer up."

"My word!" Tsurugi gasped. "Even the history of Christmas was erased!"

"Then, what is Christmas, Tsurugi?" Stinger asked.

"We saw for ourselves that it's a feast, but what is it about." Spada supplied.

"There are many ways to celebrate Christmas," Tsurugi answered. "The most common one is a celebration between couples."

"Between couples?" Raptor perked up as if excited by the idea.

"Couples would go on dates and exchange presents on Christmas day."

"Exchange presents… Christmas day…" Raptor whispered to herself.

"What are other ways to celebrate Christmas?" Champ prodded for more information.

"Kotaro is sure to be familiar with this one," Tsurugi stated. "It's a family celebration; families gather and celebrate Christmas together."

"But what is it about, garu?" Garu asked.

"Christmas was supposed to be the birthday of a legendary man, more legendary than yours truly."

"More legendary than Tsurugi?" Shou tilted his head.

"This man has the title of 'messiah', the savior," Tsurugi added. "That's where the hope people all over Earth feel comes from." He supplied.

"So Earth already has its own savior even before the Kyurangers," Lucky grinned. "Talk about Luck!"

"He is not a savior like we are, Lucky." Tsurugi shook his head.

"He's not?" Stinger frowned.

"He's more like a spiritual savior, from what I heard," Tsurugi answered. "This man was supposed to save the Earthlings from a fate that's to happen after death," Tsurugi frowned as he tried to remember the words he had heard in the past. "In other words, Christmas is a feast to celebrate the birthday of a legendary man."

"During Christmas, a lot of people are very happy," Kotaro added. "People give each other cards and presents."

"A holiday where everyone is happy." Naga gave the warmest smile he could muster.

"So it's a birthday party where everyone's invited?" Balance tilted his head. "That's great!" He jumped in glee. "Good thing we took care of that Birthday-stealing Daikaan on Earth first."

"That would have been a disaster." Hammie nodded.

"Talk about lucky!" Lucky jumped with glee.

"I'm taking requests on what to cook today, anyone have ideas?" Spada announced.

"Talk about lucky!" Lucky exclaimed once more before stating his favored dish for Spada to cook.

"Magnifique!" Spada exclaimed. "Wait for a bit."

"Oui, chef!"

As Spada left for the galley, everyone resumed doing individual things. Lucky simply watched his teammates, thankful for being lucky enough to meet them.

He really is the luckiest man in the universe.
