Okay so I have not written for Appmon in awhile and I kind of miss it, so I decided to get myself back into it by working on some drabbles. This is like my piece 'Closure' so it's a couple of days after Yuujin comes back. Spoilers for the Appmon finale if you haven't finished the series. I'm going to get around to writing more for this season soon. It is sadly, so underrated.
Eri's kicks had done nothing to his android body but as he stood there in front of her now, he felt as if he was in a place where he did not belong. Yuujin wished she would kick him now because he wanted it to hurt – he wanted to feel pain for what he had done to Haru – for what he had done to all of them. They had considered him a friend and he had thrown that back in their faces as if it had meant nothing. A small, admittedly selfish part of him wanted to be forgiven – wanted the acceptance of their friendship even though he knew that wasn't fair.
Eri closed the gap between them and raised her fist. Was she going to punch him? She brought her fist even closer, and instinct wanted him to close his eyes because he would not move back. He wanted her beating to hurt – for everything to hit him back twice as hard as he hit all of them emotionally but even when the fist made contact with skin, it was a light tap on the head causing him to blink at her. Her face seemed crossed over into a scowl before it cleared, and she pulled her fist away.
"Eri?" Yuujin asked, wondering if he sounded as confused as he looked right now. "Aren't you going to beat me up?" It was a simple question, but it carried more weight than that and her eyebrow raised towards him.
"You're doing enough of that without me even touching you," Eri said flatly. "I don't even need to do anything."
Yuujin flinched at that before he could stop himself. Was it that obvious how much he was guilt murdering himself from everything that had happened?
"Has Haru forgiven you?" Eri asked simply.
"Mostly," Yuujin admitted. "It'll take us some time to be back to the way we were because of everything that happened but I'm willing to give him as much time as he needs…as much time as you all need. I'm the one who hurt all of you so it's really the least I can do."
Eri watched him closely and he shifted a bit more, not really sure what she was thinking. Was that expression curious or a form of anger that humans normally expressed in different ways? Despite being programmed to be able to be around humans, there was so much he didn't know about them.
"I forgive you, Yuujin," Eri finally said. "You weren't in complete control of yourself, and you chose to save all of us by taking control. But…" She shot her fist in the air, it coming dangerously close to his ear. "If you ever hurt Haru again as much as you did back then, I will beat you up and this time, my kicks will definitely hit you!" Her expression softened then. "I don't think I need to worry about it now but that's just in case."
Yuujin's heart – if he had one, he wasn't sure – lightened at those words and he almost shyly reached out, taking her fist. "I'll hold you to that – to protect the others in case I waver. Thank you, Eri."
Her fist unclenched and she gave his hand a squeeze, a small nod accompanying and that was more than enough.
