"Nino you know that I'm terrible at flirting!" Adrien exclaimed as Nino walked toward him sitting on his bed. It was one of the few rare days that Adrien actually had the afternoon off to spend with his friend. So like what any good friends would do in their free time. They began to discuss how Adrien would ask out his crush, Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
"Oh I know! Any form of filtration that comes out of your mouth would always end with "My dear friend, Marinette!" Nino dramatically said before being hit with a pillow thrown by Adrien.
"It's not my fault! I'm just so nervous she'll take it the wrong way," Adrien replied.
"How so?" Nino asked him.
Adrien frowned. "Like I'm just some other snotty celebrity model that acts like they can get whatever they want," he said bitterly.
"Don't be so harsh on yourself! You know Marinette would never think of you like that!" Nino comforted him.
"Thank you Nino," Adrien said as those worrying thoughts soon left his mind.
"You're welcome but you don't need to worry at all. What I'm about to teach is the most perfect technique known to humankind," Nino told him.
"Hmm?" Adrien asked when Nino came face to face with him.
Suddenly his arm latched onto his shoulder. "Hey" he said in a deep tone raising his eyebrow with a smirk.
Adrien then burst out into laughter. "What in the world was that?!" He said in between laughs.
"That my dear student is called "The Shoulder touch". It has never failed anyone," Nino answered.
"Wait! You're actually serious about this?" Adrien said in disbelief as Nino nodded. "How is me greeting Marinette with a "Hey" flirting?" Adrien asked.
"Adrien! It's not about the words but the gesture and expression on your face" Nino declared. "Your goal is to leave Marinette as a blushing mess that will trip over her own words," he explained.
"I'm not sure this will work Nino…" Adrien said, having his doubts.
"Dude! You're a fashion model for crying out loud! This technique was created exclusively for you!" Nino shouted.
"Here! You try it out on me," Nino suggested to him.
Adrien, deciding he had nothing to lose, leaned forward and touched his friend's shoulder.
"Hey….?" Adrien asked in a forced expression.
Nino then let out a groan. "Are you asking me out or acting like I'm the most hideous thing to interact with? Show me some emotion!"
Adrien then tried lowering his voice, "Hey"
"Not bad but remember it's all about the gesture!" Nino added.
Adrien then flipped his hair to the side, "Hey"
"Now you're getting it!" Nino cheered.
Adrien loosened up his face more as he entered his "modeling state."
"Hey.." he said.
"You're a fast learner but we're not stopping until you master it!" Nino said.
Adrien laughed as the next few hours were just a constant battle of "Hey" thrown between the two friends. He thought only if modeling was as much fun as this practice with Nino. He probably wouldn't dread it as much.
Adrien glanced from the school's hallway as he waited for Marinette.
"Don't tell me you're actually planning to do that shoulder pat with your princess," Plagg said from underneath his jacket.
"It's called the "Shoulder touch" and yes I am Plagg! If it fails then I'll tell Marinette it was just a friendly gesture and forget about it" Adrien replied.
"I'm more worried about you freezing again like last time" Plagg snickered.
"THAT HAPPENED ONLY ONE TIME!" Adrien hissed at his kiwami.
"Whatever you say," Plagg shrugged. "The more time you spend arguing with me. You lose out on talking to your princess" Plagg said leaning his head towards Marinette standing at her locker.
"Shoot! Plagg! Why didn't you tell me sooner!" Adrien cursed as he hurried over to her.
"I would've if I could but she just showed up out of thin air" Plagg replied.
"Plagg, don't be ridiculous!" Adrien muttered to him before he accidentally bumped into Marinette.
"Oof! Oh hey Adrien!" Marinette said, smiling up at him. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to bump into you. I was distracted by Ayla texting about the latest news on the Ladyblog," she said holding up her phone.
"O-Oh don't apologize! It's my fault for going too fast and not watching where I was going," Adrien said, already blushing. "So how has the Ladyblog been?" he then asked her.
"Oh! It's been going-"
"Psst! Kid! Don't forget about the human touch thing" Adrien heard Plagg whisper over to him hiding behind his jacket collar.
Adrien gulped as he slowly lifted his arm up towards her. Why was this suddenly so scary for him? Also was it just him or was this going in slow motion?.
"There were also some great shots of Chat Noir too." Marinette said with a light blush appearing on her face at the mention of the cat themed superhero.
Adrien then gently touched her shoulder with his hand. "Hey," Adrien said deeply with his eyebrow raised and smirk on his face.
"Umm…Hey?" Marinette replied to him with an awkward smile.
The school bell then rang as it alerted them to head to class.
"I'll see you later Adrien!" Marinette waved goodbye, taking off for her class.
"Bye Marinette," Adrien frowned with his own wave.
Chat Noir sat on top of the Eiffel Tower as today's events replayed themselves inside his head on repeat for the last hour. He was going to kill Nino when had the chance. He made himself look like a total fool in front of Marinette! He then sighed as he couldn't even think of speaking to her for at least a week. Unless he wanted to cringe because of the ridiculous shoulder touch. He was brought out of his depressing thoughts as he heard the wires of a Yo-Yo as a familiar red and black polka dotted super heroine landed next to him on the railing.
"How's my kitty doing on this stunning night?" Ladybug teased him.
"Hey Ladybug," he replied back bluntly to her.
"No,"Milady?" What's wrong kitty-cat?" Ladybug asked him.
"It's nothing!" Chat Noir snapped back at her before realizing the harshness of his voice. "I'm sorry Ladybug! I just made myself look like an idiot two times today," Chat Noir apologized to her.
"You're always goofy though? It's part of your charm. What makes today any different?" Ladybug questioned him.
"I might've tried to flirt with the girl I like," Chat Noir carefully answered as he noticed Ladybug tense up at the mention of his crush.
"Oh…Did you deliver her one of your famous Chat Noir puns?" She asked him as he shook his head.
"I don't know if she's much of a puns fan," Chat Noir admitted.
"Maybe she just hasn't heard yours yet," Ladybug said, trying to cheer him up as he smiled hearing that from her.
"If anyone genuinely laughs at my puns it would be you," Chat Noir replied back making her giggle.
"So what did you end up doing then?" Ladybug asked him.
"It doesn't matter now," Chat replied, staring up at the moon. Already wanting to forget the events of today.
"Please! I'm your partner, aren't I?" Ladybug asked again as she poked his cheeks.
"Ok! Fine! Just…promise you won't speak of this again," Chat Noir said, turning to face her as Ladybug then held out her pinky finger towards him. Chat Noir took her pinky finger with his own and they shook on it.
Chat Noir took a few moments to recollect himself. Once he was ready, he then reached over to touch Ladybug's shoulder before his face had a seductive expression upon it.
"Hey" he said, staring at her with his bewitching green eyes burning bright behind his mask and the ravishing smirk on his face.
He then saw a huge blush form on Ladybug's face in an instant. "H-Heyllo! No! What I meant to say was Hillo" Ladybug started stammering before she shoved her face into her hands in complete embarrassment.
Chat Noir then laughed as that caused Ladybug to glare at him. "I'm sorry Milady! Your reaction was just too precious not to find adorable!" Chat Noir replied with a huge smile on his face.
"Whatever jerk!" Ladybug playfully punched him in the arm. "Here I was thinking that this girl was luckier than me but, I'm starting to reconsider if this was your reaction," Ladybug said.
"Lighten up Bugaboo! You know this is partly because I know it gets on your nerves," Chat Noir teased. "I really do appreciate you for cheering me up tonight, thank you Milady. I'm lucky to have you as my partner," he said.
Ladybug stared at his face being blessed by the moonlight as she smiled before looking up at the moon with him.
"Your welcome Kitty and another thing, stop calling me Bugaboo," she said blushing.
"But Marinette! Don't you find it strange that both Adrien and Chat Noir did the same move on you today?" Tikki asked Marinette as she was lying in bed.
"Come on Tikki! It could've just been a coincidence. Plus, there was some difference in their approaches," Marinette replied, holding up her fingers.
"Chat Noir's approach was confident with his alluring green eyes. Along with the way his golden locks reflected off the moonlight. His devilish smirk that makes me feel weak in the knees. Meanwhile, Adrien's approach was a bit flawed as I could tell he was trying to make his voice deeper than it sounded. I think he was just trying to mess with me. We have played pranks on each other before," Marinette finished counting the differences off her fingers.
Tikki let out a sigh before retiring into her own small makeshift bed above Marinette's own bed.
'Though I never noticed how similar Adrien's eyes were to Chat Noir until now," Marinette thought to herself with a smile. She pictured the two distinctive but alike green eyes in her mind.
