Disclaimer - I don't own Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. I wrote this for December 2021's second regular challenge which is confessions. Which - I started out interested in shipping Aina and Manon, but now with the second chapter release I'm sliding towards shipping Manon Nadereh, though I still like Aina and Manon.
Choices of the Sky
"I must confess," Aina muttered to herself, her fingers folded behind her back. "I am a bit jealous."
Her companion - the Meteorn who arrived in Aeilo Town before its destruction - remained silent. There was the ever slight chance that they'd already picked up on how she felt regarding the developing relationship between Manon and Nadereh, given how Manon's normally stoic personality gave way to excitement when she interacted with the leader of the Retem region, yet—sometimes even if they knew, her companion would shrug things off, always going with the flow.
"I didn't realize I actually liked Manon that way until…." Aina stepped forward, twisting around and smiling. "Well, I guess I just need to be happy for them?"
"If something's happening," her companion muttered.
"If something's happening?" Aina's mouth pushed together. "You're rather dense, aren't you?"
Her companion tilted their head before shrugging their shoulders.
