Alexis let out the sigh she had been holding in and turned her head to watch her brother while he was fidgeting with the box cassette tapes trying to find the one he wanted to listen to, while he was driving well over the speed limit.
"Hm?" He grunted when he realized she was looking his way and passed the box to her. "Find Aerosmith for me, will ya?" He reached down to his discarded hamburger and took a giant bite glancing in her direction when he saw she wasn't looking through the box. "What's wrong?"
Alexis couldn't help but roll her eyes and leaned her head back looking at the ceiling of the Impala. "I don't get WHY I have to go stay with Uncle Charlie." She glanced in her brothers direction. "I've been doing just fine being with you and Sammy but-"
"Alexis." Dean cut her off using his dad tone. "It's only for the rest of high school, and besides Charlie could use the help with Bella."
"It's not fair." She crossed her arms over her chest, rolling her head to the side to watch the rain out the window. She could see the headlights of her car out the side window almost wishing she had ridden with Sammy, as he usually understood her better. She heard Dean mumble under his breath about her being a dramatic teenager but she brushed it off closing her eyes hoping that he would change his mind before they got there.

She felt Dean shaking her and muttering something but she was too tired to listen and tried brushing his hand away. "Five more minutes Dean." She said her voice heavy with sleep.
"Alexis Mary Winchester. Now." Dean shook her again.
Alexis let out a frustrated sigh and sat up trying to rub the sleep out of her eyes. She looked out the window realizing that she must of slept the rest of the way. Dean knocked on the passenger window, having her suitcase and duffle bag in hand, and nodded towards the house for her to follow. She grabbed her backpack went to open the passenger door but Sam had beat her to it.
"So you ready?" Sam said with a small, sad smile on his face. Alexis felt the tears welling in her eyes when it was finally setting in. She had never been away from her brothers for more than a day in her life, and now she wasn't sure the next time she'd see them again. She stifled a sob as Sam helped her out of the car and pulled her in for a tight hug. "It's not forever." Sam said pulling back slightly to wipe the tears from her face.
"Oh come on guys." Dean said from the porch. "We agreed on no chick flick moments."
Alexis could help the short laugh that passed her lips, leave it to Dean to ruin the moment. She looked up at her brother who gave her another small smile and led her to the house.
"Charlie. You remember Alexis and Sam." Dean said sitting at the small kitchen table with a beer in his hand. Charlie stood up and glanced between the two.
"Wow. Sam I think you grew at least 5 feet since the last time I saw you. I mean look at you." Charlie almost had to tilt his head all the way back to look up at him before looking at Alexis. "And you-you look just like Mary did at your age-." Charlie's voice cracked momentarily but he cleared his voice before motioning them to sit down at the table.
Alexis looked at Dean who had made himself at home, now having his feet propped up on the table and eating a slice of pizza that had been on the table.
"Bella. Bella! Come down and meet your cousins!" Charlie shouted up the stairs.
"Bella's had a bit of a rough patch these last few months." Charlie said his voice a lot quieter. "Her boyfriend dumped her and she hasn't been taking it the best, so hopefully having you around will help Alexis."
"Whoopie." Alexis said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "Ow!" Her head turned to Sammy in annoyance when he kicked her under the table.
"Be nice." He said sternly.
"Bella, these are your cousins Dean, Sam, and Alexis. Remember I told you about Alexis staying with us for awhile." Charlie sounded as if he was speaking to a toddler. Alexis strained her neck trying to look around Sam and Charlie to see Bella and couldn't help her jaw almost hitting the table. Wow. She wasn't expecting Bella to look like a living skeleton and she could tell her brother thought the same thing by the look on their faces.
"Can I go now." Bella said pained, staring at the floor. Charlie nodded his head and she all but sprinted up the stairs.
"Wow-Charlie. You said it was bad, but I wasn't thinking it was THAT bad." Dean took a swig from his beer raising his eyebrows in Alexis's direction. She glared back at him in response.
"Hey Sam, why don't you help Alexis take her stuff up to her room." Charlie changed the subject. "It's up the stairs and to the left, across from the bathroom." Alexis saw Dean perk up some and removed his feet off the table, with a look she knew all too well. She glanced between Charlie and Dean, tempted to stay and hear what they would say but Sam touched her shoulder and motioned her to follow him.
She slowly followed Sam up the stairs and into her new room-it was small and plain but doable.
"So, want to rearrange anything?" Sam said as he tossed her bags onto the bed and glanced around. He looked even more giant in this small space before he started walking around and looking in the closet.
"I wonder what Charlie had to tell Dean." Alexis said as she watched Sam decided move the dresser to a different wall. "Sam?" She looked at him when he seemed to ignore her.
"Hm? Oh that, it's probably nothing." Sam seemed to be even more interested in rearranging the small room. She left out a huff when she realized that Sam wasn't going to tell her. She let Sam rearrange the room as she laid on the bed staring at the ceiling. Every once in a while they could hear small sobs coming from the next room.
"Well I think that's it." Sam brushed his hands together happy with his work. Alexis propped herself up glancing around.
"Thanks Sammy." She pushed herself off the bed giving him a tight hug before heading back down the stairs.
She heard Charlie and Dean whispering intensely back and forth with Charlie showing a paper to Dean. Alexis cleared her voice when they walked into the kitchen causing them to quickly snap away from each other and Dean quickly pocketing the paper, nodding a thanks to Charlie.
"Well Sammy, you ready to head out?" Dean stood up very tense and shook Charlie's hand. "Thanks Chief. Sammy, lets go."
Dean, Sam, and Alexis all made their way out to the porch. She could feel the tears in her eyes again and Sam pulled her in for another tight hug. "You be careful." He whisper in her ear and pulled back.
She turned towards Dean, the only real father figure in her life since their dad was always gone. "Remember, we promised. No chick flick moments." Dean said and cleared his voice trying to compose himself. She felt a tear trickle down and hugged him tightly. She felt him hesitate before hugging her back tighter. "Don't be dumb." He whispered and she couldn't help but laugh again, Dean was never good at this stuff. "Oh I got you something." He fidgeted in his coat pocket before pulling out a small box. "I know how much you like the one I have so I thought you know, you might like one." He awkwardly scratched the back of his head. Alexis took the small box from him and opened it, seeing a matching necklace to the one he always wore.
"Thank you Dean." She have him a small smile.
"Well, we'll see you around sis." Dean gave her one last hug before clapping Sam's shoulder.
"Remember, we're only a call away if you need us." Sam said pulling her in for one last hug.
"I know." She said and watched them walked down the steps and to the Impala. She stayed out there until the car disappear around the corner before making her way back down inside.
Well this is it. Welcome to Forks, she said to herself sarcastically.
