Hi everyone! Whilst in the midst of writing The Bounds of Sin , I actually got the plan to write a Jellal-centric story based on why he becomes the way I depicted him in that story. However if you haven't read that story yet before you'd read this , that is not a problem as this story is in a way a long winded prequel piece to that anyway (and can be read as a stand alone piece)!
Though if you came here for immediate dark Jerza , I would suggest with starting with the sequel piece instead and coming back to this to keep the full impact of both plots and only if you want a more in depth comprehension of the behaviours present in that story (TBOS) , as the Jerza dynamic is introduced a lot later in this story due to how much build up i've planned for Jellal's character before he actually meets Erza.
With that being said though , this story will entail both pre-canon narrative and canon narrative , meaning I will be extensively covering Jellal's life from prior to his abduction, to abduction , to arriving at the Tower of Zeref , to after possession etc - and just going on until this story will reach it's fitting conclusion.
I'm going to be starting from practically the beginning of things , and from there working my way up so be warned this will be quite a long one that will take time to get to the canon parts and will be rather distressing and twisted to read , but it will all make sense when it starts to come together.
A lot of head-canon will be used however I have crafted it in a way so that it can help fill in the existing plot holes with canon Jellal's character/plot and also because I want to give his drive for the Tower of Heaven more of a solid reasoning and expand on why he was so obsessed over it rather than just leaving at 'he was possessed'.
Just like any other story that has come from me , this one will not be one which is light hearted. It's dark , gritty , eventually mature themed , and will be more psychologically and philosophically focused whilst lacing quite a few more themes that I want to develop through the narrative I have in store.
Without further ado , I hope you enjoy the story I will bring forth!
-X764-
A woman with strikingly long and thick midnight black hair cascading down her being in a loose low ponytail hummed softly as she nestled her face into the small form of life cradled into her body. Her slender yet curvaceous figure was supported by the large window frame of the master bedroom she stood beside as the moonlight bathed the both of them in it's shimmering rays whilst the magnificence of the heavens were on display for all to see.
"Oh the stars are clearer for us to see tonight!" She chirped with enthusiasm as she tilted the face of her 7 month old child away from her bosom enough so he could get a better view of the sight she was seeing. It was something she realised he was incredibly fond of. His large deep brown eyes would widen noticeably when it would come to the beloved pastime they shared of star gazing.
It wasn't something normally a mother and her child would do , she was aware of that , but possibly due to her position as the capital's Heavenly Priestess , her own son must have also gained an affinity or interest for the celestial bodies. Not that she was complaining though or anything , in fact the moments like this ; just sitting or standing by to view the cosmos in all their grandeur with her adorable son was something she took great enjoyment in.
"Look , look!"
She pointed briefly as her large deep olive green eyes widened in awe from the myriad of divine beauty in sight. The deep velvet hues of the night sky simply smattered with swirling tones of purple and the blues so dark it rivalled the depth of her own hair. All the whilst being adorned by endless points of shimmering light that broke through the blanket of darkness in the most beautiful way. And the moon taking the center point of the splendid sight ; full and gleaming , and irresistible. All the colours coming forth in a heavenly haze that did nothing but strike awe into her as she never got tired of the magnificence which could be sighted.
As she was in the midst of being captivated , she found her attention being taken by the feeling of her lengthy tresses being pulled by the curious fingers of the azure haired boy. To which the woman winced slightly in a playful manner , lowering her head a bit to close the distance between the stubby fingers that pulled her and the strands of midnight which were being pulled from her scalp.
"O-Ow, ow Jellal , I told you to stop pulling my hair so much!"
She expressed with a little playful pout , her cheeks puffed up a tad to present her dissatisfaction with the mischievous doings of her child , but that didn't last long as she saw the wide brown eyes of the child slowly breaking focus from her hair to the face that watched him.
The two of them had what was a small bout of staring , to see who's actions would win over , and unknown to the azure haired boy that his win had been solidified when his young features broke out with an innocent smile.
A curve formed on her shapely lips as she found her 'anger' was no match for the endearing sweetness of her son.
"Oh…I can't stay mad at you. You're too adorable!"
"My little blueberry."
She laughed to herself before planting a slew of kisses over the supple moonlit skin of the child's face , effectively causing a slight blush to form against his creamy pale skin before she nuzzled into him again , the softness of her skin no match for his own before she gently pulled away from his grasp , watching his tiny fingers struggling to clutch the blueish black silk that escaped his hold.
"You're really fascinated with my hair."
She laughed to herself however , her own fingers that cradled his head started to gently rake through the small sprouting of azure hair , feeling how the strands moved against her fingers alike to the ebbing and flowing of the sea.
"Your hair however is more like Papa's."
She commented , continuing to swathe the hairs of the 7 month old as her eyes observed his features. Something that never left the back of her mind was the fact how much Jellal resembled his father. The most common feature being the hair they shared. Deep azure like the breaking sky after a storm , something that stuck out so strikingly against the less vibrant tones of what she was used to seeing. Her own hair also being of that spectrum.
And whilst the hair was a major resemblance , she thought the features the child had seemed to hold something alike to her husband too. She couldn't tell what it was though , but as a back thought whenever she would look at him , she'd remember his father.
Of course that's not to say Jellal didn't share any resemblance to her. Rather they shared a similar complexion ; creamy and fairer skin and also his eye colour seemed to be more alike to her own deeper tone rather than his father's striking light hazel brown one. Also his softness seemed to be taken from her rather than his dad.
But that being said , the child was not even a year old so there was no knowing how he would turn out or whom he would resemble more in the coming years. But she knew she'd love him all the more regardless , as he was a blessing bestowed upon them through their love and trials.
And he was a delight the both of them wanted.
She sighed to herself as she felt a heaviness settle in her chest from recalling the 7 months that had gone by somehow without the presence of his father. Well really he had been gone for longer but these 7 months especially had been feeling strangely empty with the absence of the man who gave her this child.
Probably why she would try to satisfy her loneliness with the presence of her child , excessively doting over him to occupy her mind elsewhere so she didn't focus on that hole in her heart that had grown large with each passing day.
But finally that was all going to come to an end.
Whilst she was in the midst of continuing her soothing touches to the child's scalp , her tranced attention was stolen back from a small yawn that broke through the young boy as he nestled into her satin nightgown deeper. A warmth melted the initial sadness she felt as her deep olive green orbs watched the fatigue beginning to lull the child away into slumber.
"Sorry Jellal…You're tired aren't you? I shouldn't have been keeping you up with me…"
She reprimanded herself as she knew she shouldn't have been taking her son away from the sleep he needed just for her own comfort. Her fingers continued to rake through the young boy's tufts of hair as her eyes fell towards the ground as another sigh left her being.
"I've just been nervous…Papa's coming home tomorrow and I haven't been able to sleep myself…"
She could feel her own heart beating faster just from the mention of such. Her fingers became seized with the want to twitch as she thought deeply about the coming day.
After being stalled for 7 months , they finally were going to meet. And the new chapter of their life would surely start with all that had been done in an effort to make it worthwhile. Truthfully he was meant to be back a month after Jellal's birth , however some complications had occurred and pushed back their reunion.
But that was okay , because tonight the wait would finally be over.
"You're excited too aren't you?"
"It will be the first time you see Papa."
"And the first time he sees you."
She doted as she held the young boy closer to her body , feeling his weight beginning to increase as his large eyes wavered between being open and closed , gradually drifting off to sleep once again in his mother's hold to which the woman smiled gently at his actions.
"I bet he won't be able to believe what a cute child you are."
She gushed once again before taking one more chance to leave another peck on the side of the child's face , her arms adjusting to hold him more securely as her grasp had faltered a bit over the time being. Her sight looked up from the marble floor she had been peering at before letting out another sigh deep from her chest as she relayed her thoughts to the comfort of the night.
"This will be a new chapter for us…"
"We'll finally be a proper family…"
The final words left her lips with a degree of heaviness , not because it was anything unwanted but the mere notion that such a thing was actually going to come into reality was still unfathomable for her to process. To think that after living such a quiet life of her own with the premature death of her own mother and only her ailing father to be of company , for there finally to be a new and revived dynamic in the bloodline , it was truly a thing of excitement.
From tomorrow , she would truly learn what it meant to be a wife , what it meant to share a mother's joy with her beloved husband and to see with her own eyes how the course of fate would change now that both of them would face it hand in hand.
Her heart drummed against her just at the thought of what the coming day would ensue , her own throat becoming tight and her large almond eyes glazing over with warm tears just trying to imagine how it would be to reunite and be rid of such loneliness once and for all.
Though before the desire to shed tears could break through , she let out a contented sigh before her mind came back to reality and looked through the window once again , to realise the once luminescent star lit sky was being drowned through approaching thickness. Dark and shadowing tones had started to conceal the radiance of the moon to which disheartened the ravenette to some extent.
But that must have been a cue then from the heavens that their speculation should have been over and it was time for the both of them to catch some rest and await the day fate had in store for them.
"Oh the clouds have come back…I guess that means no more stars for us tonight."
She told the young child that was clutching onto the fabric of her gown whilst he nestled deeper to her warmth. She could feel a slight disturbance having seized the young child , making him fidget a bit in her hold , to which she started to bounce lightly herself in a soothing motion whilst her hand immediately went to fingering through his tousled locks.
"Ah? Are you cold?"
She asked , in response she felt the young boy nuzzle into her further , to which she took as the answer she needed for what she needed to do.
"Let's get this window closed then."
Without wasting any more time , she used one arm to keep the boy cradled against her whilst her slender fingers from her now free one grabbed a hold of the window doors and brought them to a neat close. The feeling of the crisp breeze that had been airing out the room came to halt and made her shudder from the change in temperature.
As she finished securing the lock of the window , her free hand took a hold of the embroidered drapes situated around the frame , gently pulling them towards the center of the window and watching broken illumination that peered through the room gradually being faded out as she felt the last rays of the moon kiss her skin whilst it was being shut away.
"Maybe tomorrow the three of us can watch them together instead. You would like that wouldn't you? Mama would too-"
Though as the woman went on doting about her son , a strange chill seized with a presence , causing her to freeze up with rigidness as she heard something she wasn't expecting. Her thin brows furrowed with confusion as her ears pricked up at the pitter patter of weight treading along somewhere. And from what she could tell it seemed rather close.
'Huh?'
Her hold on the drapes stiffened with curiosity , pulling aside the fabric as she peered down to see where such a sound could have emanated from , from what it sounded like it was as if there were a bunch of people marching elsewhere.
But to her surprise when she looked down from the height of the bedroom , she found no trace of presence , the winding narrow streets as deserted as they'd normally be on a night like this. Which brought even more confusion into her mind.
Was she hearing things by any chance?
"I must be more tired than I thought…"
She quietly justified , her fingers gripping against the pleats of the drapes in uncertainty as her eyes scanned once more to find if she had missed any detail regarding the sound. When she was satisfied with her lack of findings , she gave a sigh and decided it most likely was her imagination that was playing up.
"Let's get to bed then-"
However as the ravenette was in the midst of shutting the drapes with real intent , the sound of a startling slam had her frozen stiff on the spot , her blood immediately pumping wildly as her ears clearly distinguished that sound.
'What's going on?'
Her blood rushed with evident fear as the hold on her baby tightened in apprehension , her fingers crumpling into the soft fabrics that adorned the boy as the child had been stolen out of any slumber which tried to encroach him from the sudden ruckus.
Turning around in a panic , she barely had a moment's time to process anything which was occurring before another slam came and sounded directly in the drums of her ears , following a violent gust of wind that seized her on the spot as it chilled her from the impact.
With the door of the master bedroom having been flung open , her eyes couldn't help but process the group of hulking figures that were crowded around the room's entrance. Her heart beats were rash , given the uncalled presence of such beings in the confines of her own chamber , however it was soon she understood exactly who they were when her vision caught sight of the insignias embroidered on their clothing.
The second highest members of the civil force in Almeta. All of them. Donned in the standard plain and shadowy tones of the uniform with the crest of capital , that being the renowned coat of arms of Almeta which had the main goddess Seren watching over them depicted on her throne , whilst the above 7 stars aligned above to symbolise the 7 chiefs that had been blessed with overseeing and protecting the country.
Whilst all guarding members of the capital wore such , something that set these men apart from the standard watchman is the golden emblems they had hanging down from their crests , recognising their incessant merits for the country and the level of servitude given over years of dedication. That sort of accolade was not given to just anyone , these emblems were proof of the capital's gratitude for these specific efforts.
Even with the lack of light in the room , she could still see the presence of the polished metal shining against the dark fabrics of the uniform.
Confusion played on her delicate features , unable to conceive why guards of such high eminence would come to her chamber. Really their duties weren't anything disclosed or seen as compared to the regular guards of the nation , they were known to act in secrecy due to how elite of a standing they held in the capital. They weren't ever seen to go anywhere unless dire circumstances or a major threat had appeared against the safety of the citizens.
Which made her question…
…Why would they have come here?
As the question troubled her inside , she couldn't help but feel a bit forming in her stomach from their sudden appearance. Even though she knew she had nothing of interest which even remotely resembled anything sought from their usual affairs , she didn't know why , but she couldn't help but have a pang in her gut that had a bad feeling about this encounter.
She could hear the boy beginning to whimper and sniffle , evidently disturbed by the unforeseen change in atmosphere. Her fingers subconsciously tried to sooth the child before he could erupt into a tearful mess , her own heart beating hard against her chest , only becoming more violent as the silence was cut through with the announcement she heard next.
"Kaileen Fernandes."
With her name being sounded in the dead of the darkness , she felt the hairs on her skin raise as she swallowed thickly. What was it they could want with her? By the tone she had been spoken to , she couldn't decipher anything other than stoic words , all in which addled her further and had her heart drumming away as her throat felt like it was closing in.
"Y-Yes officer?"
She could just about choke out , her hushed yet strained breaths ringing roughly against her ears as wide orbs stared towards the ground in anticipation of what was to come next , her hands discreetly fumbling more to try and soothe her stirring child and keep her mind occupied from over thinking.
However that only gave her a moment of calmness ,
Until what she heard next.
"You are under arrest for being a direct accomplice to capital offence."
It was then and there she felt everything in her body become exceedingly heavy. Unable to do anything other than feel the breaths she managed growing shallow as her mind struggled to process what exactly was being said to her.
"W-What?"
Capital offence? What were they on about? Why would she , out of all people, be the someone to partake in crime against the nation? A nation she wanted nothing but goodness for and oversaw herself with her standing as the sole daughter of one of the eminent chiefs of the capital and the appointed priestess.
Not to mention , what even capital offence would have been of mention? The only one she knew of in her lifetime had been the incident which had occurred 7 months ago , that being an instigated attack on the country from a foreign party , to which she could have certainly had no correlation to.
What was actually going on?
"I-I h-haven't-!"
Confusion only continued to spill from her quivering lips as she looked up from the marble she had been staring at , her features nothing short of distraught as her fingers gripped subconsciously tighter onto the young boy still in her grip.
Without realising , her feet started to shuffle backwards , in response to the men dressed like shadows who had started approaching her. Her whole being was seized by a quiver as a dreaded chill went down her spine from the words that still struggled to make sense to her.
And to her misfortune.
With what was to be revealed to her next ,
"Given the evidence we've collected,"
Only more misery would ensue.
"Your husband , Rais Fernandes , has been uncovered as the leading culprit regarding the attempted attack on Almeta seven months ago."
It was then and there she felt her heart come to a vivid still , the breaths she had scarcely been able to manage came to a halt as a new weight fell onto her panic induced mind. Everything was suddenly feeling light and dizzy as she could barely process what was being said.
What was she hearing? Her husband? Jellal's father? Rais? Him being the one who was behind the attempted raid on the nation? And on top of that the leading operator?
"N-No…"
That…
"N-No n-no no…."
That was absurd!
"Under suspicion of collusion there have been immediate orders to detain you and take you for further interrogation."
Her vision felt like it was closing in , her brain rushing with all kinds of emotions but the most prevalent being fear. Her heart beat vividly in her as she shook her head in denial of that which was relayed to her.
"N-No…T-This h-has got to be a m-mistake!"
She tried to appeal , her voice breaking through terror with tears that threatened to choke her as she saw the distance being closed between her and the intruders. A back thought of her mind making her tread cautiously backwards , away from the ill intentions she could sense as her hold tightened on her child protectively.
"R-Rais w-wouldn't have done that!"
"H-He couldn't have done that!"
That couldn't have been possible , he had been on an expedition alongside other members of the nation for a work ordained by the capital's governance itself , so how could he have been the one to orchestrate a plan like that?
But her pleas fell on deaf ears as she found herself cordoned off in a dark corner of the room , the multitude of guards having surrounded her proximity as her back hit against one of the burly men that sought to keep her from moving elsewhere.
"We told you we have the evidence , so shut the fuck up and don't make this difficult."
Speaking with an evidently irritated tone , the words were literally spat at her , causing the ravenette to whimper as tears beaded out of her distraughtly wide orbs and leaked down her increasingly pale skin.
"P-Please!"
"T-This can't be true!"
She cried out in avid desperation , but to her misfortune none of her words were even thought to be heeded. Rather it only irked the tension in the room further , and no sooner she saw it was acted upon as she saw a pair of unforgiving hands lunge towards her , which made the woman jolt with shock.
"W-What are you doing?"
She could barely manage as her hold on her young boy drew him closer into her , having picked up the notion of where those hands had been targeting and it seemed even her child noticed too as his tiny fingers also gripped onto her being tighter than ever.
However that wasn't enough to stop the inevitable.
For the arms that had failed in obtaining what was sought , another pair from a guard surrounding her nearby evidently seized the child's body with a rough grip , yanking the azure haired boy from his mother's warmth as his fingers were tried to desperately cling to the soft fabrics of her gown before that was ripped away from him.
"J-Jellal!"
With the removal of her young child from her fidgeting grasp , Kaileen's panic became vividly apparent as her tears streamed down her cold face as her mind felt like it was in a blur with what was happening.
"W-Why are you taking my son?"
The question left her lips filled with fright , her hands desperately trying to attain the feeling of her young child again in her arms as she reached for him in the midst of the guards , only to feel a merciless weight grab a hold of her arm and pull her to the side as she soon felt a chilling bulky metal being tightened around her wrists.
Her tear hazed orbs caught a glimpse of the unforgiving steel that had been put on her without warning , a pained gasp leaving her lips as a bruising pressure was applied to her delicate appendages which showed no sign of letting up.
Everything in the moment sounded progressively loud , whilst everything felt so surreal , her mind was in the midst of working up to a frenzy as her breaths started to quicken with vivid anxiety and trepidation which gave no notion of letting up.
This only worsened as the sound of her child erupting into a shrill cry stole what was left from her rushing thoughts. The young boy's voice pierced into the thick of the night as he was savagely handled , no care at all being taken to tend to the child's delicate needs as he was simply held as the minimum and was soon being escorted out of the room as the wails asking for his mother's comfort just increased with desperation.
"S-Stop! Y-You're h-hurting him!"
Her heart panged from hearing the sheer amount of pain that was present in her son's cries , both emotional and physical distress that she could sense as his lament became alarming. Nothing like she had heard before , and that alone had her trembling from what was to come from through the conduct of these brutes.
"P-Please!"
Her fears were confirmed from the brutal words that scoffed in reference to her request.
"Like anyone could give a damn…"
Kaileen felt an incomprehensible level of horror settle inside her from hearing such a thing being mercilessly spoken. How could they not have consideration for a child? He was such a young thing , he couldn't be of any harm to anyone yet they treated him like this?
What kind of monsters were they?!
Alerted by the evident threat that could not be mistaken , the ravenette's struggle increased with passion , her hands trying to free themselves from the bruising grip that grew tighter from each move she made against it. Pain shot through her restricted limb and fear battled against her adrenaline , but she still kept on trying.
The sound of her child's growing anguish was enough to abate the crippling fear that had sought to consume her , her blood rushing with nothing other than the sheer will to protect her beloved son as her own voice raised in octaves in response to his distress.
"G-GIVE HIM BACK TO ME!!"
Her voice grew with demand , her own body controlled by a mother's love as she tried to fight her way against the odds that fiercely opposed her , thrashing about and trying to make way through the guards that barricaded her before she felt her head being pulled back by in a threatening hold as her mouth was covered in a smothering grip.
"I knew this bitch would be a pain in the ass."
Her hairs pricked up from feeling those words breathed against her neck , her eyes widened with agony as she could feel a pressure being applied to her jaw that was near crushing. Though that didn't do anything to silence the cries she could hear and her mind singled on as she watched as her son was taken further away from her proximity.
Tension seized her being for a split second as the grips on her body became unforgivingly heavy , though determined with an indomitable will , she did what was probably the most foolish thing for her to do in the scenario. Yet in her mind it seemed the most necessary.
Without warning her mouth widened against the hand that tried to hush her , teeth bared with undeniable intent before she clamped down onto the calloused skin of the rough hand with no time to waste.
"AGH!"
Her teeth dug in deeper and harder , really trying to put her weight onto the attack as she felt blood quickly being drawn out and the taste pervading her mouth.
"YOU FUCKING BITCH!"
It wasn't long until her retaliation had done enough damage to which she had to be finally let go , blood dripping down her chin and onto the soft fabric of her gown as she threw her cuffed limbs against the faces of the guards which barricaded her way whilst aggressively spitting out the offensive taste of foul copper which was sickening to her senses.
Her attack did not seem to have been enough on it's own , simply enough to disorient if anything , but with the rush in her blood and the dire need to get away , she pulled her weight together and knocked her bound appendages several times over , widening the advantage she had in that short period of time.
Having made enough of a way for herself to dash out , her legs had immediately started to dash in the direction where she could hear Jellal's shrieks echoing in urgency. However before she could even get a few steps away from her assailant , she felt a retaliation of their own taking place.
An ear splitting scream wrenched out of her throat as she felt the tresses of her hair being viciously yanked , fresh tears pricking her already distraught glazed orbs as the impact sought to pull her back into the lion's den. Her body already felt the want to submit from the pain that it was enduring.
But she knew she couldn't.
Not when her son and she were in danger. Not when she didn't wish to find out what fate was in store for her should she let fear overwhelm her now.
With what strength she could muster , she pushed on forward , pulling herself against the force which reckoned her as she could hear parts of her hair being ripped out whilst her cries of anguish rose with the pressure she fought with. Her low ponytail became loose and flowed behind her in a dishevelled mess as she finally tore herself away from the hand that violated her.
Only to feel a sharp pain come in direct contact with her groin , the impact enough to knock any breath clinging inside out with the unforgiving blow. Her throat choked on it's cries as she soon felt blood trickling down her legs , an amount which she couldn't ignore nor was something not of concern.
Kaileen could feel her body becoming incredibly light , the strike from the guard's armoured kneecap at her pelvic region was enough to make the support she had of her legs falter as she keeled over in response. Her throat burned with the presence of bile from how deep and raw the hit was and she gagged as a result.
Her injuries were accumulating to a worrying degree , and her being the delicate thing she was with no form of previous experience with such abuse , it was taking a toll on her more than she thought to manage. Her body was turning in on itself and she could feel the adrenaline rush slowly dissipating as agony won. Her vision which had once been tunnelling had now grown weighted.
But yet she still tried to resist. As she could hear him crying , she could hear him calling out to his mother , to save him from whatever evil intentions those savages had in store for them.
And that she had to do.
That she would do.
In her mind there was one answer she had which could save them both. Her shaky fingers twitched with presence of energy being channelled as she turned herself and readied into a stance to use that which was considered generally forbidden.
Magic.
That which was said to be evil and was told to bring nothing but lawlessness , yet the gods had blessed only a few beings with such divine abilities for the need to protect the nation from those that wished to harm it. Though it could be argued that this would have been an abuse of the blessing , Kaileen only wished that deep down she'd be forgiven as this was the last resort she could manage to protect them with now she had the chance.
With her son being so close in proximity before , she had ruled out the thought of using such entirely as it was too risky for him to be exposed to such , especially not knowing what implications could follow. And she'd never have forgiven herself if she was the one to cause him harm through her own doings even if it was for their own good.
But now given the separation between them , this was more than enough she needed to use her abilities without having to trade for her son's safety.
Her body shook as she tried to bring her trembling fingers together in formation to cast a spell , what was left of her clouding mind trying to focus on directing her magic potential , her stance being barely formidable as her bodily injuries took a toll on her ability to prepare a steady cast.
Yet before she could even manage the coming surge that announced the successful channelling of her powers , she felt her body being violently thrown down onto the cold marble underneath , her head spinning wildly as an immediate contusion formed on her forehead from the brunt of the impact.
She could feel blood seeping down her aggressively , her body becoming even lighter as each breath she took hurt her more than the last. The sound of heavy footsteps approaching rang in her ears loudly as pitiful cries left her own lips in response to her agony.
"Trying to use your blessings against the order of the gods , and you claim yourself to be innocent…"
Kaileen barely had a chance to process the meaning of such words before she felt an unforgiving blow imprinted into her body by the steel toed boots of the guards. Her quivering fingers were crushed under a punishing pressure as they fell limp and were rendered useless. Thick blood spewed out of her lips as she felt her body being kicked over again and again , beating out any sense of rebellion she could have had left in her with no cease.
"Fucking traitor."
Her body was overwhelmed with vicious punishment as her blood continued to stain her once pristine satin dress and velvety skin. Hot tears mixed with the blood that ran down her face as her hair matted from crimson and stuck to her uncomfortably. The heaviness in her eyes slowly came to a close as she could hear the sounds of her beloved son slowly drowning out as they moved further away from her.
Whilst in the midst of her unconsciousness starting to settle in , the only thought that remained present in her weak mind was the cries of her child and how she had failed him.
Blood spewed out of her burning throat again as she croaked out the last word she could manage in relation to her consciousness.
"Jel..lal…"
And then it all went black.
Author's Note:
Just to clear up any misconceptions formed , where i've decided Jellal is from is not anywhere around the canon locations in Fairy Tail , the reason being as it will become a very big factor as to why he becomes obsessed with the concept of freedom in the coming chapters with what is to come!
Also...since I forgot to include this first time around (again-) , just to make sure I cover myself , I own nothing of Fairy Tail , the characters or anything more , that is all of Hiro Mashima's intellectual & creative property , all I just own parts of the plot/head canon and characters I have crafted for this story.
