Minerva McGonagall was a very put-together person. Even in Muggle's clothes, one could see she was not to be crossed with. She did hate them, but they were needed for the whole charade. Upon Apparating in front of the residence of one Elizabeth Stoll, she found a rather dreary 3 story apartment flat, with a sign that read, " 's Orphanage for Young Ladies." So the girl was an orphan. How unfortunate.

Upon stepping inside, and seeing it was just as dreary as the inside, she walked towards a desk in the corner of the room, where a startled woman looked on, before saying, "Good evening ma'am. Are you here do consider adopting a young lady today." "Oh no," she replied with a tight smile, "I just needed to talk to a girl you have here. Elizabeth Stoll." Sighing, the woman looked on, grumbling, "what's she done now." "Oh, nothing. In fact, she has been awarded a scholarship to a school I teach at." At this, the women looked surprised. "Scholarship you say. Well, I'll go get her for you," before disappearing through a door behind the desk.

A few moments later, she reappeared, towing behind her a young girl with long thick black hair, and shockingly beautiful blue eyes. At first, she thought they were black, but then she stepped closer into the light and saw they were a beautiful shade of dark blue.

"Are you Elizabeth Stoll," she asked. She nodded twice. She turned, speaking to the woman this time. "May I speak to Elizabeth privately." The woman nodded, and led them to a small room with a table and 3 chairs, and left them. "Now, , I told that woman that I am here to talk to you about a scholarship to a school I teach at. That is not entirely true. Have ever been able to do things, things you couldn't explain. Things that were just, off." She nodded again, saying nothing, but looking at her very intensely.

" you are a witch." She paused for a moment, allowing the poor girl to let it sink in. To her surprise, instead of a laugh, or her saying she was out of her mind, all she did was nod again. To be frank it was getting rather tiring. She opened her mouth to continue, but before she could the girl finally spoke. "My mom was one, wasn't she. I have memories, one's I can't explain, of her waving a stick and the dishes drying themselves, of her holding me when it got really cold out, and lighting a floating fire in front of us. I always thought I imagined them, but she always told me I was special."

As she said this, her voice got quieter and quieter, until it was just above a whisper, and Minerva had to strain to hear the lass. Suddenly she realized that the silence wasn't by choice, but the people had told these girls to be fine and proper young ladies and to not speak. It made her blood boil, but she just nodded thoughtfully to the girl's revelation.

"I guess your mother was a witch. May I ask, what was her name." "Kira Stoll" Minerva nodded, a faint stirring of her brain at the name. Now, do you have any questions?" "I don't have any money. How will I buy my things." She smiled, a real one this time, and said, "not to worry my dear, Hogwarts has a special fund set aside for people who can't buy their books and robes and whatnot. My associate, Hagrid will be along in a couple of days to take you out to buy your things. And when you see him, do not judge him at first glance. He is a gentle giant." The girl flashed a bright smile at her, and said a quick, "thank you." She turned to walk away, but stopped and turned back, saying "I like to be called Lizzie."

She nodded back, smiled at her, and walked back out the way she came. Muttering a quick Confundus charm under her breath, she walked back over to the woman at the desk and said, "Hogwarts would be delighted to have a girl like Elizabeth attend. It is no cost to you, and I will send a colleague of mine down in a couple of days to take her shopping for her school supplies if that's alright with you." The lady stammered, and Minerva said, "perfect. Then it's all settled. Thank you for your time." She walked out, leaving the confused receptionist behind, before ducking into an alley and Disapparating back to Hogwarts.

For the rest of the day, Minerva could not get the girl or her mother out of her mind. After retiring for the night, she pulled up a record of all Hogwarts students and began searching for a 'Kira Stoll'. When she finally found it, she couldn't help but smile as the memories came flooding back. This was shaping up to be an interesting batch of students. First Harry Potter, the Boy who Lived, and now her. Minerva could practically sense the amount of stress this group of students would cause her. Well, best hope she gets both of them in the Sorting. This would be eventful.

With her head full of jumbled-up thoughts, she decided she would be no use to someone right now, and decided to go to bed. Climbing under the blankets, her head swimming she fell asleep within minutes.
