Author's note:

This is a partial rewrite of the Goblet of Fire, in which the champions compete in teams. The First Task is done by the team Captain and the first of their Champions, and the Second Task is done by the Captain and the other champion. The Champions not competing in a particular Task will be incorporated into the Task somehow.

The Third Task is completed by all three team members.

Note: As you all know, I do not have the rights to the Harry Potter franchise; those rights lie with J.K. Rowling. Nor do I own the quotes from the Goblet of Fire used in my story.

Thank you for choosing to read my story. I've had this idea for a while, but never acted upon it. But today I finally decided to give it a go. I hope you enjoy it.

The flames inside the Goblet suddenly turned red. Sparks began to fly from it. Next moment, a tongue of flame shot into the air, and three slightly charred parchment pieces formed in midair before Harry's eyes. The whole room gasped.

Dumbledore caught the slips of parchment and held them towards the now bluish-white light of the Goblet.

"The Durmstrang Captain will be Viktor Krum! And his fellow champions are Sabin Ivanov and Petya Kolev!" Thunderous applause echoed from the Slytherin table, and Harry could see three people stand and make their way towards the door Dumbledore indicated earlier. Krum was joined by a short, blonde-haired boy-Sabin, Harry assumed, and a tall, narrow-bodied female who must be Petya.

"I knew it!" Ron roared from next to Harry, indicating Krum. "Who else would get it?"

Hermione frowned slightly. "Just because he's a Quidditch star, it doesn't mean-"

"Look at the Goblet," Harry interjected hastily, wanting to subdue the brewing fight he could see between Ron and Hermione.

The Goblet had turned red again, and was forming three more slips of parchment. A hush fell upon the Great Hall. All heads turned to the Goblet as Dumbledore stepped forward and caught the parchment.

"The Beauxbatons' Captain will be Fleur Delacour! And her fellow champions will be Camille Moulin and Sacha Bonnet!" A storm of applause overtook the hall. Harry saw the Veela girl rise gracefully and he nudges Ron in the ribs. "It's her, Ron!" Two more people, a boy and a girl, followed the Veela. She lead the other two, so Harry figured she must be the Captain, and them the Champions.

The Veela girl swept back her sheet of silvery hair as she passed the staff table, and she and her Champions disappeared into the room after the Durmstrang Champions.

"Oh, look, they're all disappointed." Hermione nodded over to the Ravenclaw table, where the remaining Beauxbatons students sat. Disappointed was a bit of an understatement, thought Harry. Their faces were sombre, and two of the girls had actually burst into tears, and were hugging each other desperately.

Harry felt a twinge of anticipation in his stomach. The Hogwarts Champions were going to be chosen next. He hoped Angelina would get into the team; at least one Gryffindor would be good. Another great hush fell upon the hall, but this time the silence seemed riddled with excitement. Harry could practically feel the tension in the room.

The Goblet turned a fiery red once more, omitting three parchment pieces that Dumbledore swiftly caught. Harry, Ron and Hermione shot each other a nervous, excited look and then turned to face the front again.

"The Hogwarts Captain will be Cedric Diggory!" Dumbledore began.

"No!" Ron yelled, but his voice was drowned out in the clamour of voices, the deafening applause. Dumbledore had to raise his hands and wait for many seconds until the hall was subdued before he read the Champions. "And joining him as Champions will be Clarence Murray and Jacob Craig!"

Harry frowned. He didn't know the other two Champions. He saw Cedric and another Hufflepuff rise, and a Ravenclaw girl join them, and the three of them walked up towards the staff table.

Where were the Gryffindors? How come no Gryffindors were Champions?

"Two Hufflepuffs?" Ron said, disgusted, echoing Harry's thoughts. "They're just big softies, they don't have the guts-"

Hermione shot Ron a look and jerked her head towards the staff table, indicating they should look in that direction. Harry turned to face Dumbledore, who had just begun speaking.

"Excellent! We now have our three Captains, and our six Champions!" Dumbledore smiled, gesturing his hands wide as if welcoming people. "I trust you all can support and encourage them fittingly. There is nothing more helpful to a Champion that a cheer from their-"

But Dumbledore stopped speaking, and Harry quickly realised why. An uneasy murmuring began in the hall, growing louder and louder.

The fire in the Goblet had just turned red again. Sparks were flying out of it. A long tongue of flame shot into the air, and three crisp parchment slips formed in the fire. Then they flew slightly towards Dumbledore, just enough so they were out of the fire.

As if in a trance, Dumbledore moved forward to catch them. At once, everyone fell silent, watching in anticipation as Dumbledore cleared his throat once. Then again.

"The Captain," he read in a slightly shaky voice, "is Harry Potter. And the Champions are Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger."

I know this was a very short snippet of the story, but I write in small bursts. Please leave me a review and tell me if you think I have a good story going. I find I don't enjoy writing fanfics much when I don't know if people like it; and then I stop the story altogether, because I think there's no point writing it if no one likes it.

Thank you!
