The team had arrived back at Quantico and were finalising their notes for the case file. JJ decided to call it a night and packed up her things before heading towards the elevator.

"JJ" Reid called out.

She turned and smiled at him "yeah?"

He smiled as he tried to get the words out 'ah never mind, we can discuss it tomorrow it was just something about the case."

She nodded her head "okay, see you tomorrow Spence. Goodnight everyone" she said as she went to the elevator and got in.

Reid sighed before he took a sip of his coffee. Prentiss walked over and jokingly slapped his arm. "Spencer Reid what are you doing?"

"Drinking coffee"

Prentiss shook her head. "No, what are you doing not asking JJ out?"

Reid had a puzzled look on his face as Lewis joined in. "You two at the casino were so cute, and you need to go on a real date already" she said.

He shook his head "I can't get the words out, I think I'm worried it will ruin our friendship."

Rossie walked past as he was heading home "I've had many wives so I don't believe I am qualified to give advice but kid come on, you just have to work up the courage. Your friendship is strong and if something happened, it would survive" he smiled before waving to everyone and leaving.

Alvez and Simmons had packed up their things and were heading to the elevator. "You will regret it if you don't try" Alvez said whilst Simmons nodded his head in agreement before leaving.

Prentiss, Lewis and Reid packed up their things and headed down to their cars. "It's only six, you can take her out tonight" Prentis said, winking at Reid. He chuckled slightly as he waved goodbye to the girls, hopping in his car. He sighed slightly before turning the car on and driving away.

Shortly after he arrived at his destination and pulled up into the driveway, he got out of the car and walked up to the front door, knocking lightly. JJ opened the door and smiled when she saw Reid. "Hey Spence" she said before moving out of the way to let him in. He smiled and stepped inside, turning to face her as she closed the door. "What's up?" she asked.

"I need to ask you something" he said.

"Okay" she said, nodding her head.

He nervously looked down at his hands, and she slightly raised any eyebrow. "I haven't seen you this nervous around me since we first started working together, what's going on?"

He glanced back up at her and took a deep breath in "I was wondering if you would like to grab some dinner with me" he paused before continuing "like a date, it's okay if you don't want it as a date" he said as he started nervously mumbling.

"Spence" she said as she smiled and placed her hands over his "I would love to go on a date with you." He looked down at her and smiled. "Just let me get out of my pjs and into some clothes" she said before wondering down the hall to her room. Reid waited by the door for her, grabbing her jacket off the stand. She came back out and grabbed her house keys. "Where are we going? She asked as Reid helped her with the jacket.

"I was thinking we could try that new Thai place that has opened up, but if you feel like something else, we can do that" he said, smiling as he opened the door.

"Thai sounds perfect" she said as they walked together to his car, getting in and driving to the restaurant.

Once they arrived, they were taken to a booth and given the menu. They decided on the green curry and the Bangkok-style noodles to share. Once they had placed their order JJ turned her head to face Reid. "Why were you so nervous to ask me for dinner?"

He shrugged his shoulders slightly. "Apart of me was anxious you would say no, but I would have moved past that as I respect your decision, and I think another part of me was worried if something happened it would do something to our friendship. Also, it's you JJ, I've had a crush on you from the moment I met you, and this was something I wanted for so long and it scared me that it could possibly come true" he said, smiling as he looked at her.

"Spence, I don't think something bad will happen, but I promise if this doesn't work, I won't let it put a dint in our friendship." She took his hand in hers and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Everything I said in the past about how I felt about you, it is all still one hundred percent true."

He brought her hand up to him and quickly kissed it, smiling as he set it back down. Not long after their food arrived and they both happily shared the two meals.
