Chapter 7: A Night To Remember

Bakugo was supposed to remain in the hospital for two weeks. Still, he was out in one because he deemed himself healthy (and the hospital staff was happy to be rid of him). While recuperating in the hospital, Bakugo answered Kirishima's questions about what happened and how they attacked him first. Bakugo said he attempted to turn the other cheek (that wasn't entirely true) and how they ran him off the road. Tokoyami visited Bakugo every day, bringing him food and other items to pass the time. Bakugo complained, loudly and often, about the hospital food. Finally, when he was released, Tokoyami had an Uber ready to take them to Bakugo's condo. On the way, Bakugo's phone dinged with a notification.

"It's from Kirishima," Bakugo says to Tokoyami.

"Any word about the arrest?" Tokoyami asked.

Bakugo reads the text. "Yeah. They confessed to everything, but Kirishima also says they were rambling on about 'nightmares' and 'unsettling' daydreams? What the hell does that mean? Drugs?" he scoffed. "I wouldn't be surprised."

Tokoyami turned his face to the window with a victory smirk; his spell had worked.

"I need to go look at motorcycles now. You want to come with me?"

"Can't you just ride a scooter or a bicycle?" Tokoyami asked, although he already knew the answer.

Bakugo smirked and flipped off his phone. "Hell no! I'm getting a bigger and better one! My last bike was getting old, anyway."

There was no point in arguing, so Tokoyami let it go. Bakugo will never learn his lesson, and that stubbornness is just something he was going to have to get used to.

The Uber pulled up to Bakugo's house, and Tokoyami swallowed a little, knowing what was soon to come when they were settled. Bakugo cheered about being back home and flopped on the sofa. Tokoyami, closing the door behind him, lightly scolded Bakugo about not overdoing it per the doctor's orders. Bakugo ignored him, stretching out like a cat along the length of the sofa. Bakugo tells Tokoyami to order them Thai food rather than cooking anything. Tokoyami agreed. It would be easier to order out until Bakugo got settled in and back on a regular routine.

Tokoyami orders the food, but when he goes back to Bakugo, the man has fallen asleep on the sofa, snoring softly. He smiles a little with how peaceful Bakugo looks, with soft brows and straight-lined lips. He covers Bakugo with a blanket and lets him sleep until the food arrives. When attempting to wake Bakugo up, he responded by rolling over and grumbling. Tokoyami continued to let him sleep, passing the time on his cellphone and chatting with Izuku.

It was getting late, and Bakugo was still asleep. Tokoyami gently shakes him awake, but Bakugo says he wants to keep sleeping and that he can go home. Tokoyami calls an Uber and places Bakugo's food in the fridge. He wondered if it was a good idea to leave Bakugo alone after just leaving the hospital. Tokoyami figured that if Bakugo needed anything, he would call. He let out a little sigh of relief, but it was tainted with a tiny bit of disappointment at not being able to sleep with Bakugo. He had been building up to this night since he promised Bakugo in the hospital. There's always next time.

Tokoyami opened his shop and was texting with Bakugo throughout the day. He was backed up on special orders, from candles to ritual baths to unique oil blends. Even while texting with Bakugo, he was able to balance all three.

When the day was done, and he was locking up the shop, the sound of a motorcycle engine nearing reached his ears. Instantly, he thought it was Bakugo, but he didn't have a new bike yet, and he wasn't supposed to ride for another week. However, Tokoyami's eyes flared when who should pull up on a brand new, bright red motorcycle but Katsuki Bakugo.

"So? What do you think?" Bakugo asked when he removed his helmet.

"You are a madman!" Tokoyami answered. "You said you were resting today! And the doctor said that you shouldn't ride for another week!"

Bakugo shrugs his shoulders. "I did rest today! I went bike shopping. Bought this beauty on the spot and drove it out."

"Hmph." Tokoyami couldn't help sticking his nose in the air as he turned from Bakugo, heading for his apartment stairs. 'That man is his own death wish!' He started up the steps when he heard the motorcycle ride off. 'Good.'

Tokoyami entered his apartment and removed his boots before going to the kitchen to pour himself some wine. Dark Shadow jumped onto the counter, mewing for attention. Tokoyami scratched under the cat's chin only to have Dark Shadow dash away when someone knocked on the door. He is certain he knows who it is and opens the door to reveal Bakugo.

"Don't you have a bike to ride?" Tokoyami says to him with sarcasm and attempts to close the door, but Bakugo puts his foot there to stop it. "Do you mind?"

"Not really," Bakugo pushed the door open with little resistance from Tokoyami. "I get why you're pissed off, but you have to get over it," he says while taking off his boots and making himself comfortable on the couch.

"I did not say you could come in," he crossed his arms.

"Oh?" Bakugo smirked. "Then try to throw me out."

"Such insolence!"

"And you love it," Bakugo patted the spot on the couch beside him. "Sit your boney ass down, and bring the wine when you do,"

Tokoyami shouldn't do it, but he does- in fact, he was eager to sit with Bakugo. So he grabbed an extra wine glass for Bakugo and placed the bottle on the coffee table. Tokoyami would have poured some for him, but Bakugo did it himself.

"Cheers to my new bike!" Bakugo snickered when Tokoyami refused to clink glasses with him. "Fine. I guess I'll just let the spirits ride with me,"

"Do you believe me now?" Tokoyami asks him. "They were warning me that you should not have ridden the bike that day."

"...lucky guess."

Tokoyami rolled his eyes and sipped his wine.

"But you're not a fraud," Bakugo adds.

Tokoyami had to accept that, for he knew he wouldn't get any better from him.

"Well, I'm going back on the road," Bakugo said and gulped down the rest of his wine.

"Already?"

Bakugo smirked at Tokoyami. "You want me to stay?"

"Um…well…" Tokoyami blushed softly and turned his head away.

"Ha!" Bakugo gets up from the couch and takes a swig of wine straight from the bottle. "You fell asleep on me last time, so I'm going to make this even. I want to ride my new bike around, so I'll meet you here tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to seeing that hidden tattoo."

Tokoyami turned red again as Bakugo left. 'I must be crazy to be attracted to that man,'

After opening the second bottle of wine, Tokoyami takes his laptop to search the web for…male couples. Of course, he knew what went on, but this will be his first time with another man, and he didn't want to be caught being too naive. So, he searched for videos to watch that were the farthest from porn possible. He found a few, feeling embarrassed even though he was alone. However, he noticed that Dark Shadow was staring at him, and he frowned at the cat.

"Don't judge me,"

Dark Shadow meowed at him.

"You'd better make yourself scarce tomorrow night."

The cat only licked his paw in response. Tokoyami got ready for bed, and his phone dinged with a text from Bakugo. He opened it to read that Bakugo got home safely and ensured that tomorrow night would be a 'witchy ritual.' Tokoyami frowned at Bakugo's boldness, but he has come to learn that he has needed that type of presence in his life. He can calm Bakugo's angry nature, and Bakugo can help him to try new things. But something ritual for tomorrow night? Tokoyami thought about it, and there wasn't anything particular that pertained to regular sex. Usually, rituals like that were for fertilization and sexual performance. Then, he had an idea for the 'witchy ritual.' Bakugo wouldn't know the difference. He texts back;

'Let's switch to your place tomorrow night.'

'Why?'

'Your place is bigger than mine.'

'I thought we were going to do it in the back of your shop where the spirits dwell?'

'THAT IS MY PLACE OF BUSINESS!'

'All the more reason!'

'No. And that's final! It's your place tomorrow night or nothing at all,'

'Fine. My place.'

'And please purchase the best red wine that you can.'

'Damn, you're not only making me work for this, but you're also bleeding me dry! But I'll do it. Any other demands?'

'This is not a one-time thing.' Tokoyami reminded him.

'Yeah, yeah, I know. Don't expect me to get mushy or romantic, though. And that's not really you, either.'

'Yes, I'm aware. Goodnight, Bakugo.'

'Same. I'll be at my shop tomorrow.'

'See you then.'

Tokoyami closed his shop two hours early to get everything prepared for tonight. He was anxious all day but in a good way. He had been texting back and forth with Izuku, debating if he should tell his friend what he was doing tonight. Tokoyami decided not to tell Izuku until after it happened. In truth, it is no one's business but their own. But Izuku is his best friend, and they have always shared personal things. He and Bakugo are a couple now, and Izuku would know anyway. Tokoyami still feels guilty for declining Izuku's offer and hooking up with someone like Bakugo, the complete opposite personality of Izuku. He shouldn't be thinking about Izuku right now, though. He had some preparation work to do.

He had a spell in mind for tonight, a commitment spell, one that would please Bakugo, and it wasn't too 'mushy,' to quote the man. Tokoyami took both his and Bakugo's interests into consideration when planning. He gathered two candles, one red and one pink, and lit them. Pouring the different colored waxes into small poppet molds, he made the red one to represent Bakugo and the pink one for himself. After they hardened, he took a red thread and wrapped it around each one twice. He placed them carefully in a black velvet box. He put a white, musk-scented candle in another box and covered it with a phase of the moon altar cloth. Finally, he placed the dark red silk sheet set in a large straw tote bag with his Victorian gothic black robe. He added two pewter goblets and the ritual bath mix' blood of my enemies' for Bakugo. He wasn't sure if Bakugo would like this, but he packed his fang caps. If Bakugo wanted a 'witchy' night, he was going to get one.

It was almost time to meet Bakugo at his house, so Tokoyami did a quick reading for himself, and all signs came back positive. Soon, his Uber arrived, and he was on his way to seal their relationship. The whole way, Tokoyami sat in silence with butterflies in his stomach. He kept telling himself to just go with it and not worry too much or try to overanalyze. Then, he received a text from Izuku.

'Hey, Yami! Are you free tonight? What to go to the movies? I have a buy one, get one free offer!'

Tokoyami sighed, his fingers hovering over the keyboard letters. He replied, 'I'm spending the night with Bakugo. Let's do another night?'

'Oh, okay. Sure! I'll talk to you later, then.'

Tokoyami dropped his head back against the headrest, letting out another sigh. Izuku was upset, he could tell. The response was too short, and Izuku would always say, 'have a good night' or 'enjoy your day.' But there was nothing of the sort.

'I'm sorry, Izuku.'

The Uber drops him off, and Tokoyami takes his things out of the trunk. As he walked up the steps, the door opened, and Bakugo stood there. He wore red and black flannel print lounge pants and a black undershirt that showed off his tattoos. It wasn't his usual appearance of a big-bad biker, and Tokoyami liked this side of him more.

"You moving in, or something?" Bakugo asked when he saw the large tote and backpack.

"No. You asked for a 'witchy' night, so I've brought what is needed." He turns to look at Bakugo after he closes the door. "This night is for both of us."

"Yeah, I remember," Bakugo says, going over to the bar area to show Tokoyami the bottle of red. "So? Does this suffice?"

Tokoyami looked at the brand and nodded. "Yes, I approve."

"And I made dinner,"

"Dinner? I figured we were going to order out."

"Hey, you wanted expensive wine; I figured you'd want a fancy-ass dinner, too!" Bakugo ushers him into the attached dining area. "I slow cooked a beef roast and a bunch of other things."

Tokoyami lets his eyes glide along the table, done up for two. The roast looked and smelled delicious with serving bowls of different sides.

"You didn't have to go through this much, but I appreciate it."

"The bread is almost done- so, go get your stuff settled in or whatever, and we'll open the wine."

"Oh, and when you do, use these." he fetches the pewter goblets with Celtic knot designs.

"I like them," Bakugo smirked. "Don't take too long."

Tokoyami went up to Bakugo's room and changed into his Victorian gothic robe, and nothing else. He caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and briefly wondered if Bakugo would find this look attractive. He supposed it wouldn't matter because the night was going to end with them naked anyway. While on the way here, he was mentally practicing how to act only to conclude that he would just be himself; and let things happen as they come.

Bakugo finished pouring the wine and looked up when he heard Tokoyami coming. The Victorian-style robe was a bit much, but Tokoyami looked amazing in it, and it suited the gothic man. It was slightly on the feminine side as the robe was a little longer in the back, trailing along the floor. Should he make a vampire joke?

"Wine's ready,"

"Thank you,"

"You can start eating. I'm going to take the bread out." He hands Tokoyami the goblet.

"I'll wait for you. Can I help with anything?"

"No, I got this,"

Tokoyami sat at the table and watched Bakugo in the kitchen, mainly the man's back and shoulder muscles. The tattoos moved along with the muscles as Bakugo sliced and prepared the bread on a tray. Tokoyami should have continued to wait for Bakugo, but he was getting anxious, so he had to take a sip of wine without a toast first. The wine was good; very good. So he took a bigger sip.

"Alright, time to cut into this roast," Bakugo says, placing the sliced bread on the table and picking up a large carving knife. "You should have brought that fancy knife you have in your shop."

"That's a ritual knife, and it's an antique. It was used to cut flesh, not meat,"

"Think about what you just said,"

Tokoyami blushed and cleared his throat. "What I meant to say was that it was used to draw blood, not to carve." Bakugo serves him first.

"From people or from animals?"

"Likely from both," he was not surprised with Bakugo's positive reaction to what he said.

"So, what sort of witchy ritual do you have for us tonight?" Bakugo asks with a mischievous smirk.

"It's not too extreme because this is my first time, and I want things to go smoothly."

Bakugo raised a brow. "It doesn't have to be completely planned out, you know. You go in the way things happen. You might be a- how can I make this saying creative?" he sipped the wine as he thought, then said, "You might be a gentleman in the streets but a vampire in the bed?"

Tokoyami frowned and paused in cutting his meat to give Bakugo a disapproving stare. "While I appreciate your attempt at being creative to please me within my way of life, just stop while you're ahead. That was too lame, even for me."

Bakugo laughed out loud. "Fair enough! I thought it was funny,"

"You would find your own jokes humorous," Tokoyami said but he smiled while doing so.

After dinner, they took the wine upstairs with them to prepare the bath. Bakugo had water jets in his tub and Tokoyami was eager to use them. The tub was large enough to hold three people, so they would be able to lounge comfortably. The whole bathroom was bigger than his kitchen.

As Tokoyami poured in the bath mixture, he heard Bakugo undressing behind him. He shouldn't be so nervous about seeing or standing in front of a naked man, but he was. Of course, there was a deeper reason behind this particular situation. Did he think he would be in a bathing suit? Sometimes he could be dense when he was nervous.

"You're not getting in like that, are you?" Bakugo asked.

"No, of course not."

"Then take it off," Bakugo says while gripping the tie of the robe and giving it a tug. "I want to look at that secret tattoo that only I will be able to see."

Tokoyami's heart skipped a beat at the last thing Bakugo said, which he probably said without knowing. Tokoyami took it as the sign that Bakugo was not going to drop him after this night. Just the thought had his lower belly tingling. His skin tightened with goosebumps as Bakugo untied it and the robe fluttered to the tile floor. He was aware that they were both naked but Tokoyami couldn't tear his gaze away from Bakugo. It was Bakugo who acted first, easily lifting Tokoyami by the waist to seat him on the bathroom counter. Tokoyami flared a dark red and barely had time to react when his knees were pushed open.

Bakugo finally got to see Tokoyami's secret tattoo, and he was impressed with the artwork. The hellebore onyx odyssey flower looked like a mix between a rose and a phoebe flower colored with black and purple ink. It wasn't large, but it was just the right size for this spot.

With Bakugo studying his tattoo, Tokoyami got to admire Bakugo's body, which was rock solid and covered in tattoos. All the tattoos shared the common theme of dark elements: skulls, snakes, demons, and flames. Mainly skulls and flames. None of it bothered him. He was actually feeling more comfortable now.

"Only I will give you tattoos from now on," Bakugo declared.

"...is there something you don't like about them?"

"No, I just don't want anyone else giving you tattoos." he lifted Tokoyami from the counter. "This bath isn't going to give me weird dreams like the first one did, is it?"

Tokoyami shook his head and, taking Bakugo's hand, brought him over to the tub. He turned off the faucet and let Bakugo observe the dark red water with dried rose petals and cloves.

"Given our shared interest in the dark element style, I thought we could bathe in blood. Blood of My Enemies." Tokoyami thought Bakugo's grin was a little…too excited.

Bakugo tells him to pour more wine as he gets into the warm water and settles comfortably. Whatever Tokoyami used to make the bath, the color stuck to his skin in red rivulets but was easily wiped away. He accepted the goblet Tokoyami handed him as he was joined in the bath. 'Bathing in blood' with Tokoyami is a pastime he could easily get used to enjoying.

"Do you like it?"

"It's fucking perfect," Bakugo said, then added, "You're too far away. Get over here,"

Tokoyami flushed softly and obeyed, settling between Bakugo's legs and resting against his chest. He could feel something hard poking at his lower back and he instantly knew what. He didn't want his first time to be in a bathtub. Bakugo took a large gulp of wine behind him and Tokoyami quickly did the same. The wine was already going to his head a bit, and if he drank it faster, he'd be buzzed much quicker.

"Keep drinking, little birdie," Bakugo says and takes the bottle from the side of the tub to pour them more. "I got another bottle, too. Only that one isn't as fancy." Tokoyami let out a small hiccup. "That was fucking adorable."

"I'm not adorable!" Tokoyami said, stiffening his back. "I am the darkness!"

"Oh? You're the darkness?" Bakugo snickered. "Maybe the darkness in a Disney movie."

Tokoyami stuck his nose in the air. "Do not forget that I know many spells and how to cast them. I have an impotence one."

"Pfft. As if such a spell could actually affect me!"

Before Tokoyami could rebuttal, he felt Bakugo's hand slide across his lower belly. He tensed up at the unfamiliar touch of another so close to his groin. Bakugo took his goblet away to place it with his, so both their hands were free. He bit back the little moan that threatened to escape when Bakugo's other hand joined the second, stroking his lower belly and inner thighs. He didn't know what to do with his own hands. Whether it was the wine or Bakugo's touch alone, his groin was getting tight.

The moan that he held back came out in a soft gasp when one of Bakugo's rough hands brushed over his nipples, making them harden. He never knew he was so sensitive to touch, and it only heightened when Bakugo kissed him. They mashed their mouths together, tongues dueling, with Bakugo coming out as the victor. The thrilling feeling of the tongue ring had him wondering how it would feel on other parts of his body, which only made him more excited.

Bakugo had to keep himself calm and not simply tear into the virgin flesh covered in blood-like water. Tokoyami's body was responding to his as he hoped it would, and then he laughed at himself for having any shred of doubt in his abilities. That hidden tattoo of Tokoyami's was all his, and he slid his hand down to stroke the spot. He didn't think he would care so much as to want to possess and claim something he would have previously thought stupid and lame. Should someone else other than him try to see it, he would smash their skulls. Something he did had Tokoyami suddenly arching out of the water in what was undoubtedly a climax. Bakugo smirked, he wasn't even fully hard yet.

"This night is just beginning,"

Once out of the bath and in the bed, they were a tangle of limbs with Tokoyami letting loose with unbridled passion. Bakugo's mouth and that tongue ring were all over his body; biting, nipping, and licking. It seemed like every part of his body was overly sensitive and reacted to Bakugo's rough mouth and hands. But it wasn't just Bakugo who can bite.

"Wait…stop a moment," Tokoyami breathes out. "I need to get something."

"What? I got the lube already," Bakugo replied quickly.

"No, I have something different," he slide out from under Bakugo, who growled in protest, to go to his bag and take out the fang caps. He quickly put them on over his incisors and hurried back to the bed where Bakugo pulled him under once more.

"What was so damn important?" Bakugo demanded. His answer came with a kiss, but it was sharp when Tokoyami put pressure on his lip and he tasted metallic. Then, he saw the fang caps and grinned. He was at full, aching hardness then. "I knew there was another side of you- it's always the quiet ones!"

Afterward, Bakugo cleaned them up with a hot towel and they lay together in the bed, nestled under the covers. Tokoyami spooned against Bakugo's larger form, tucking his head under the strong chin as his lover gave lazy strokes along his lower back. They lay in silence for a long while until Bakugo finally spoke.

"You good?"

"Yes. A little sore, but otherwise I'm fine,"

"Hey, I think I'll get a pair of those fang caps, too. It was fucking hot when you bit me."

"I didn't mean to bite so hard."

Bakugo snickered. "Please, the rougher you are, the happier I am. I wasn't going to go crazy on you for your first time. Can't say the same about you, though. You surprised me a bit,"

"I'm remembering everything now," Tokoyami says with a blush. Then his eyes widened when he realized he had forgotten the commitment ritual! "Damn it! It's too late now!"

"What is it?"

"The commitment ritual I had prepared for us!" Tokoyami tried to get up from the bed but Bakugo pulled him back.

"Hey, we don't need any of your spells. We did everything we wanted without it, so don't fret over it." He saw the disappointed look on Tokoyami's face and he sighed. "Fine, go do it, then."

Tokoyami got out of bed and went to the dresser in the room where he had the spell set up. However, his eyes widened when he saw that the two wax figures representing them had melted together WITHOUT the use of the heating pod. It hadn't been turned on, but they melted and merged anything, a swirl of pink and red.

"What is it now?" Bakugo asks from the bed.

Tokoyami just smiled to himself and returned to the bed.

"Nothing. It doesn't matter."

Bakugo let out a small scoff and let Tokoyami spoon against him.

They fell asleep still nestled together and didn't wake up until the light of morning came flooding through the window. They both covered their heads to hide from the light and keep the darkness to themselves a little bit longer.

The End
