Guest 1: Thanks for the review and letting me know. Though based on what I've heard the show will be the Disney Star Wars Trilogy or Wheel of Time or Witcher all over again. Might watch an episode or two still, but I'm very wary.

Chapter 13- The High Pass

Rivendell

"Now under siege from the Goblins of the Misty Mountains, Rivendell is no longer safe", Elrond spoke to his audience consisting of all the remaining Scoobies and Team Angel as well as Glorfindel, Gloin, Arwen, Elladan, Elrohir and Erestor.

"So, are we getting out of here?" Anya asked with a raised hand and was shot strange looks. "Oops, spoke out of turn!"

"The Elves and Dwarves of the North must unite", Elrond said, looking at Gloin, who knew what he meant.

"So we need to get all armies", Gloin sighed. "We could do that."

"And all of us", Glorfindel looked between the gathered people, "must join forces to make war on these Goblins and forge this alliance."

"Let us first make a base on the High Pass", Gloin suggested. "That would work well for us."

"I believe the High Pass road might be infested considering the siege the Goblins just carried out", Elladan made a point.

"Think that means we need to clean up the place and make our base", Buffy realized what needed to be done.

"Yes, that is what has to be done", Arwen nodded. "Defeat the Goblins in the High Pass, and then establish our base there to battle Sauron's forces."

"While the rest of us can regroup and rearm here", Elrohir realized.

"Sounds like a good course of action", Erestor agreed.

"Let's all go this time", Gunn shrugged. "All of us, what do you say?"

"What about Connor?" Cordelia asked, looking at the baby who looked at her with his innocent baby big blue eyes.

"We shall look after him here", Arwen assured Cordelia.

"Really?" Cordelia asked, not wanting to part with her son in all but blood and name again.

"Really."

"Okay Connor, we gotta go, mama Cordy's gotta go", Cordelia told him, holding him close as she kissed his forehead. "Be good, okay."

Connor made a sound as Wesley stroked his head while Lorne, Fred and Gunn waved at him, and then he was handed to Arwen.

"Let us go to the High Pass", Glorfindel got up and walked off with Gloin.

"Is it just me or does the lot here never get tired?" Spike asked randomly.

"For once, I think you're right", Xander agreed with Spike for once.

Buffy, Spike, Cordelia, Wesley, Giles, Xander, Gunn, Lorne, Fred, Anya, Jonathan, Glorfindel and Gloin were on the icy High Pass with a company of Elves behind them.

The Goblins had now taken the High Pass road, blocking the vital connection between East and West.

Here now they would battle their enemies to retake the pass.

"The attack came from the North, but before we can track the invasion force to its source, we must clear the High Pass of the Goblin invaders", Glorfindel gave the basic rundown to them all.

"Just what we're here for", Buffy shrugged, her sword out.

"High Pass is a dangerous place though", Glorfindel pointed out. "So we must start building our base already."

"Think I'd be good help here with how much I have to rebuild club, plus no good in a fight folks, came here to do building work really", Lorne said while raising a hand. "So, I'll do it."

"Same here, think I'm better off with the base building", Fred added.

"An?" Xander asked her. "Wanna join them?"

"Well….." Anya wondered. "Yeah I do! My life's important to me! No idea why I was fighting at the Hellmouth."

"We all know why", Xander assured her as they shared a kiss.

"I believe it is best for me to stay too", Giles pointed out, since in such big fights, his age would work against him, at least in smaller ones he could work better.

"My magic can help", Jonathan added himself to the builder group as well, since while he had been in 2 big fights, a guy like him was still better helping from the sidelines than being an actual fighter really.

"We shall spare 10 Elves for you, the rest of us leave for the battle", Glorfindel gave instructions.

"Oh yeah, can't wait for that", Spike cracked his neck with a smirk.

"Good luck", Fred said to the departing group.

"Yes, may all of our wishes be with you", Lorne added with a wave as they nodded and waved back.

"Thanks guys", Buffy smiled.

"Yep, you lot be careful too, you never know what may happen", Cordelia warned before turning around. "Let's get started."

"Oh yes, time to start", Wesley agreed as they started moving forwards now to find any infesting Goblins to kill and clear the road.

"Where would they be?" Gunn wondered.

"They can come from anywhere, master Gunn", Gloin informed him as the group looked around for signs of danger while moving forth. "This place is infested with them, always has been."

The group continued their path forwards, reaching some green pastures as Spike muttered. "Are they scared of us or what?"

As soon as he said that, they heard some screeching as he sighed. "Guess not."

"They hide not because they are scared, but because they wait to ambush", Glorfindel advised the Vampire just as some arrows were released from trees nearby and they tried to take cover but 3 Elves were shot and killed on the spot.

"Damn it!" Buffy said in frustration and horror.

"Shut your eyes!" Cordelia commanded and all did as a bright light erupted from her, disintegrating some more arrows flying at them while Goblins were heard screeching, having been blinded from her power.

She came back to normal and said. "Open them now!"

All did as the Elves used their keen eyesight to see exactly where the Goblins were hidden in the trees, and Glorfindel commanded. "Release the arrows!"

The Elves did as told, killing all Goblins in the trees as their corpses fell down.

"That's one group of archers down", Wesley said just as a group of Goblins started climbing down the hill towards them.

"There, we got another", Xander said as the group came close. These were armed with melee weapons like swords, axes and clubs.

"Tangado haid!" Glorfindel ordered as the army of Goblins charged, his Elves nocking arrows. "Leithio i philinn!"

The Elves fired as various Goblins were killed, routing the army, allowing for the perfect opportunity now.

"Come on!" Buffy said as all of them charged the Goblin group, with Gloin being the first to engage as he hacked at a Goblin's legs, making it fall down as he then brought his ax down upon the Goblin's face.

Glorfindel used his sword to deflect some Goblins' strikes before killing them all in quick succession as Buffy stabbed one through the throat, then ripping her sword out chopped off another's head before bringing it down on a third.

Spike spin kicked one Goblin down before stabbing it, then blocked another one's strike and kicked it away into one more, running his sword through both of them as they died.

Gunn used his ax expertly to block two Goblins' strikes and struck them on their throats, killing both with the strikes while Cordelia blinded two at close range and sliced their throats with Wesley stabbing one through the heart and Xander stabbing one more through the throat.

The rest of their Elves twirled their sabres, taking down this group of Goblins as well and soon, Glorfindel cut off the head of the last one behind him without even looking.

That was one more group of Goblins in the area dealt with.

"Come on, we must move", Glorfindel commanded as they moved forwards to carry on their 'search and destroy' mission.

Only their way was blocked by a boulder, and they heard screeches as another small group of Goblins came behind them.

"Would you all step aside?" Glorfindel asked the rest and they did before he turned to Buffy and Spike. "Not you two."

As the Elves tried to hold the approaching Goblins back by firing arrows, the Elf-Lord told the Slayer and Vampire. "We shall leap over to the other side and push the boulder."

"Oh? Yeah, that's easy", Buffy agreed with a nod.

"Let's do it", Spike nodded too as Glorfindel leapt high, reaching over to the other side, followed by Buffy and then Spike.

Since their group had moved to the side on Glorfindel's command, they were not at risk.

Glorfindel held out his hands and pushed, with Buffy and Spike doing the same. Their combined strength detached the boulder in time from its place as it rolled towards the advancing Goblins, making them pause and screech in fear as they tried to run back or scatter but the rolling boulder crushed all of them quickly, killing the entire group as all left of them were broken body parts and blood.

"Well, that's this group dealt with", Wesley noted as they made to move when suddenly some liquid projectile almost fell at him but he jumped back in time to avoid.

The ground where it fell was burning already.

All looked up to see several insect like Demons on a small hill, with very sharp and pointed appendages.

"Okay, what the hell is that?" Xander asked.

"Hey! Aren't those the insect thingies Wolfram and Hart were fighting this year?" Cordelia asked Wesley and Gunn as their eyes widened in shock.

"Oh yeah! Damn! Its them!" Gunn said in horror as they fired some more of their liquid but all of them dodged by jumping here and there.

"So these are from your world?" Glorfindel inquired as he rushed close to them.

"Not from ours exactly, rather a different Dimension, and they attacked our world sometime ago", Wesley informed him as they dodged some more.

"Well, they're more disgusting than the Goblin wankers", Spike commented.

"More dangerous too", Buffy added as the Elves shot their arrows, taking down 3 of them, and that was what made them crawl down at a speed one would not have expected of them.

"Let us battle these foul Demons", Gloin raised his ax and hacked at the appendages of one of them, making it screech in pain as it tried to spit at him but Gloin struck its mouth next, killing it.

Glorfindel expertly weaved around one of them, avoiding all of its appendages it tried to strike with those, and then got behind it. Before it could even start turning, he stabbed it through the head while his sword protruded from its mouth, killing that one too.

Buffy punched one on the chest, staggering it back, and then chopped off its head as Spike sliced one more on the chest before leaping behind it and bringing his sword down upon its head.

Cordelia blinded one with her powers and then stabbed it through the chest, while Wesley, Xander and Gunn killing one each too.

There was one left as Glorfindel chopped off an appendage swiftly, making it screech in pain before Buffy had her sword at its throat.

"Who is your master?" Glorfindel asked as he aimed his sword at the back of its neck. "Who is he?"

"I serve….Lord Sauron…" It hissed as the heroes exchanged looks.

"And how did you come here? He bring you?" Spike inquired.

"No", it shook its head.

"Then how?" Buffy asked as it tried to say something but suddenly burst into flames as they backed off, realizing whoever had brought these things here did not want them to talk.

"I believe an enemy of ours is now allied with Sauron, and does not want us to know who they are", Wesley noted grimly as the group exchanged looks, wondering who they could be.

"Well, these insect things definitely did not work for Wolfram and Hart", Cordelia commented with a sigh.

"We shall think upon who sent them later, for now let us destroy any other enemies in the area, Goblin or not", Glorfindel suggested to the group.

"Good course of action I say", Gloin commented as they looked forth.

"Yeah, sounds good", Gunn nodded when they noticed a huge shadow underneath and leapt away as a boulder was thrown where they were.

They looked up to see a giant creature with some armor on it looking at them with a screech.

"A Mountain Giant!" Gloin gasped. "That is what it is!"

"Great, another big guy to fight", Xander groaned.

"Mountain Giants rarely join sides so this is most strange", Glorfindel noted with a confused look as it hurled one more at them but Cordelia fired a beam of light that shattered it into small pieces, making the boulder fall down.

Some arrows came from behind the Giant which they had to dodge as well. Buffy climbed a small hill and saw the Goblins were at a short distance behind the Mountain Giant with a skull-shaped macabre camp like the one that they had destroyed before.

Some turned to her direction and fired arrows but she jumped down in time to avoid those and ran back to the rest as the Mountain Giant threw one more boulder which they had to avoid.

"There is a camp behind the thing, it is their guard or whatever", Buffy said with a sigh as it tried to pick up one more.

"What do you say we take this thing down, luv?" Spike asked with a crack of his neck.

"We can take it down together", Glorfindel agreed as he charged it, with Spike and Buffy close behind the great Elf-Lord.

As it made to throw one more, Glorfindel sliced at its foot, making it snarl as it looked down upon him, and it tried to stomp on him but he effortlessly evaded its attack.

Buffy then stabbed it in the other foot, making it screech while Spike noticed the Goblins firing more arrows at them and slid between its feet before standing up as he deflected the projectiles with his own sword.

Buffy pulled her sword out as the Mountain Giant roared in anger while staggering a bit, the line of sight now open for the Elves who fired back at the Goblin archers, killing a good bit of them.

The Mountain Giant swatted its hand towards Buffy but she ducked and rolled to avoid before Glorfindel stabbed that hand, making it scream in pain again, while Spike took the opportunity to stab its ankle from behind, and got another scream of pain as he and Glorfindel pulled their swords out.

It was pretty wobbly now as it tried to stomp on them but due to its wounds tripped a little, making the three back off a bit as more Goblins started coming out of the camp to fight. It was the remaining army of them.

Glorfindel, in that moment, leapt high and stabbed the Mountain Giant in the heart, making it scream again as he twisted his sword, and then pulling out, leapt back as the Mountain Giant wobbled, with Spike jumping out of the way.

As the Goblin army came close, the Mountain Giant fell backwards. The Goblins barely had time to react as it crashed on top of them all and their camp, crushing them all to death with its giant corpse while the camp was destroyed too.

That made the Elves cheer a bit before Glorfindel sensed something from a small water body nearby, and they did too, all walking towards it cautiously but keeping their distance.

Suddenly, blue tentacles shot out and grabbed 3 Elves, taking them all in as they screamed.

"Stay away from the water!" Gloin cried out as they backed off from it, realizing it was something very dangerous.

Buffy looked around, and picking up a decently big stone, threw it in the water. A few seconds later, a giant blue creature with tentacles and claws emerged, antennae on its forehead and what looked like jellyfish tentacles coming out of its mouth.

"Now what the hell is that?" Xander asked in horror as they exchanged.

"Once more, not of our world", Glorfindel said as it struck its tentacles again which they dodged while one Elf managed to strike at one, making it retract them all.

It then fired a stream of water from its mouth that they had to jump to avoid as well as the Elves fired some arrows but it destroyed all of those with another stream of water.

The creature then slammed its tentacles on the ground, making the Earth shake violently from the impact as all of them fell down.

Its tentacles wrapped around two more Elves and took them inside, with one coming at Wesley but he fired his gun in time and that one was retracted.

They all got up, barely avoiding its water stream again as Cordelia asked. "What the hell are we supposed to do to kill it?"

"Yeah, it has ways of keeping us away from it", Gunn agreed as they avoided its tentacles again.

"Oh screw it!" Spike scoffed as he stepped forwards and raised both hands to either side. "I'm here! Come on! Come at me you bloody sodding piece of work!"

"Spike!" Buffy cried out as she stepped towards him, only for a tentacle to take him away inside. "NO!"

"Oh no", Wesley whispered in horror as the creature fired one more stream of water that they had to avoid.

It screeched and made to fire again before suddenly freezing, its face contorted as if in great pain. It then coughed out green blood before falling forwards, its innards all spilling out of a ripped open chest as a dazed Spike fell out, staggering around.

"Bloody hell! That stings!" He fell to his knees as Buffy ran to him, kneeling near him.

"Oh Spike-"

"Buffy…" he groaned, looking up at her.

"Don't do that again!" She smacked his chest.

"Ow!"

"Okay?"

Spike groaned, looking into her eyes, which always melted him. "Okay!"

From the corner, one remaining Goblin watched and ran off, as it was alone now and they had been beaten.

With Sauron's army now chased away from the High Pass, Elves and the rest could now travel to the lands beyond the Misty Mountains.

But the war against Sauron's forces would continue.

And the end of this one. Cut out Haldir and his group from here to keep it more in-line with the films, and also the Watcher in the Water, as I would like to keep just one. Rather it got replaced by a different Sea Monster.

So the Insect Demons that originally wanted Jasmine in canon have now been recruited by Senior Partners since Jasmine is gone, and the heroes are unable to put two and two together yet since unlike in canon Jasmine could only send few of these to attack at a time, and then got taken over by the First Evil.

The Insect Demons as well as Sea Monster were all Senior Partners as they've allied with Sauron and Saruman now, meaning more Demon armies to face.
