The village was nice actually, it was a curved shape, like a U, with the houses facing towards the center of it, in the center was a group of people doing different things, some had clay and were layering it into some sort of bowl or vase. Another group used what appeared to be chipped stones to make hook shapes, as well as what appeared to be arrowheads. The last group appear to be using bark to make clothes, and mashed berries to color them.
The people wore stiff yet nice looking clothing, the males wore tanned, and brown clothes while the females wore red and/or black colored ones. They appear to be comfortable despite the material of the clothes.
I slip behind a Tree, hiding myself from view, wondering how the hell I'm supposed to introduce myself to them. A darker, more malevolent side of medemandedthat I make thembowbefore me like the inferior creatures that they are, while the other side of me suggests to watch over them, protect them, learn from them, and teach them. Needless to say, I agreed with the latter half.
Poke
I look down to see a young child, male in appearance, poking me with a stick.
I did the adult and mature thing of course!
Poke
Poked them back naturally.
They giggled at that and poked me again.
This went back and forth for a few minutes before they tugged my cloak and pointed towards the village. Even if they're speaking in a different language than me, I can tell that they're asking me to go to the village.
This gives me an option, should I follow the child, or should I refuse and continue watching? There are pro's and con's to this situation of course.
Pros of going: being able to understand their culture more in depth, maybe teaching them my language so we can understand each other.
Cons: Less time to prepare myself for religious activities, how to deal with people, learning the world around me as questions will come up if I am gone, and more reliant on me for protection.
Pros of watching: More time to prepare for religious activities, how to deal with people from an outside perspective, being able to leave for lengthy periods of time with 0 questions, less reliance on me for questions.
Cons: Never being able to understand a single word of what they say.
As I slowly follow the child, I mentally facepalm at my own stupidity. I can prepare for religious activities if I can understand people on their level, and talk to them, as well as being able to travel to different locations.
I am no longer what I, from what I can barely remember, was in my old life. I can't even remember what I used to look and sound like. Those memories are either erased or blocked to me.
The villagers, upon seeing me, stiffen up. Some run into their homes, while others pull out bows or old stones threateningly. The child, as kind as they seem, tries to talk to them. One that I assume to be her father of course seems to be upset with her. Which is understandable, I'd be upset as well if a tall, white as hell, red eyed, and horned man walked into my home with their kid. Regardless if they're an adult or not. I mentally laugh at the prospect of getting a family, I am a god and thus, immortal, I prefer not seeing loved ones vanish into the realm of the dead where I cannot follow.
The girl gets taken to a seperate house by her father and I am escorted to one of the bigger ones, within it I see three people, two with what appear to be long sticks or perhaps spears in their hands, between sat a clay masked man sitting cross legged. The two guards point their sticks at the floor, indicating that I must sit down.
Separating me and the man was a small fire in the floor, the walls were lined with drawings of different things, such as animals and people. But those were unimportant as the man then began to speak. After a few attempts at establishing communication via words, he had a piece of wood and a stick be given to him, using charcoal from the burnt part of the stick he tried writing words. Sadly I didn't understand them at all, even when I wrote Japanese he didn't understand. A few minutes later, he draws something on the wood and hands it to me.
It was a picture depicting me with a line aiming at it. After a second of thinking I draw a response, adding more lines to the picture and changing the position of my limbs in the drawing, I have it depict me descending on a field near a river, I then hand it back to him. Washing it off with water I get it handed back to me with a new drawing, which is me outside of the village being brought in by the child. Multiple lines point towards me, and it's obvious what he wants to know.
Washing it off and drying it, I draw what my goals are, such as traveling, teaching, protecting, and being worshipped, though I do draw that it's not necessary for that quickly at the questioning tilt of the mask once I gave it back to him. He circles the drawing of me teaching. Washing it off(I'm gonna have to do this alot so I can reiterate what I say to the Shaman, deal with it pals and pallets) again I draw me teaching my language as well as other things, such as basic farming(fields of stuff and orchards) he draws me one more question that upsets me greatly.
It shows me attacking others with no reason, among other despicable things. My reaction is not surprising to the guards and shaman but what happens because of my emotions are surprising. An acorn abruptly becomes a small tree, almost puncturing the roof. After a few minutes, what I assume is a shaman as he throws in berries and leaves into the fire and calms the guards. After that he draws an apology and draws a circle around a tree.
I shrug in the universal "I don't know." Which makes the man chuckle. He draws that I can stay in the village if I do the following, learn their language, teach my language, protect my village, and control my powers
Naturally, I agree, with the condition that I am allowed to travel as I wish to learn more things. It is accepted by him and we leave the house, it's night by the time we leave the house and he has a sort of village meeting. From what I can tell he's talking to them about me staying in the village and teaching them stuff. The majority are excited, while the lesser amount seem to disagree, though they don't seem to talk about their disliking of me being there.
I cannot blame them, I'd be weirded out by some random white being entering my home and or place of residence. Though this does seem to spark a celebration as they seem to be dancing and singing, especially the children as they clamber towards me.
I am notified that a house(somewhat of a distance away) will be made for me via drawing, I of course will help them
This was a good decision, it will take time yes, but it will be worth it.
AN: Changes will be that Japanese will be made/learned a hell of a lot sooner. However Youkai will still appear around the 8th century AD. Next chap is when Time Skips begin!
Fun fact: I originally wanted to crossover with SCP but there are a few reasons why I decided against it. 1. There are many canons people have for the SCP foundation, such as 682 being able to come back even with all his cells destroyed, then again O'Death exists sooooo. 2. There are other things, like The Deer, that may be able to kill me, that kinda depends on if I want to get the Shari Rinnegans(aka Sasuke's Six Paths Rinnegan) power to switch places with objects/people/jutsu.
