After a close fight, and also going easy on her since Uraraka knew she couldn't do much with her Quirk and that Yoarashi was going easy on her, Uraraka was thrown out of bounds, and Uraraka was a bit down in the dumps.
Not that that mattered much to Katsuku since he honestly knew she was gonna lose. It was inevitable, like this next fight of his where he'd beat the shit out of Todoroki.
And so, after sitting down and thinking his strategy through, he decided to bait Todoroki into using his fire and have an actually exciting match!
"Now, if I want to bait Icy Hot and Issues into using his fire," Katsuku began saying to himself as he plotted, "then I'm going to need to beat the shit out of him, break his right arm and leg, force him to use left side, and then relocate his dislocated bones quickly, and then beat the shit out of him some more." Katsuku nodded. "Totally complicated!"
Immediately beginning to head out, he then saw Todoroki look at him, sitting right across from him since this was actually Todoroki's waiting room, a bit livid at not only his absurd plan that had a high possibility of working but also what he was called since what happened to him broke his heart and was something he took seriously.
"I'm sorry," Todoroki began as he stood up with his eyes closed, before glaring daggers at Katsuku and saying, "what the fuck, did you call me?"
"You're scary when you're mad," Katsuku said, side dodging the question before running to the waiting room he was meant to go to.
"I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU!" Todoroki shouted at Katsuku as he briefly went out of the doorway and into the hallway while glaring at Katsuku.
"AND I'M SANTA CLAUS!" Katsuku retorted. "BITCH!"
Todoroki balled his hand into a fist, which began shaking, and bleeding, and Todoroki said, "I'm so conflicted with my existence that I don't what to feel anymore and god do I want to fucking feel anger!"
As they entered the arena, Shoto began calling upon every moment in his life where he felt anger and hatred.
It was easier than he thought. He just had to think of his father.
And he felt his left about to erupt.
"Two top students are about to face off, who will win this battle between classmates?!" Mic began. "Will it be the crazy, unpredictable fused Katsuku Midorigo? Or will it be the son of the Number Two Hero, Shoto Todoroki?"
'I don't care about that bastard,' Shoto thought as he glared at Katsuku who took a fighting stance.
"Ready."
"All I want," Todoroki began.
"Set!"
'I'll knock you down a peg!' Shoto thought as he saw Katsuku's confident smirk.
"Go!"
"I'm going to beat you!" Shoto shouted as he raised his left arm, flames erupting from it before he sent a rage power blast of fire towards Katsuku, whose eyes were wide open in shock and worry since he didn't expect this.
"Fuck!" Katsuku said as he launched himself into the air with an explosion, before using One For All and sending out a powerful air pressure attack with the flick of a finger that snuffed out the flames, before Shoto sent out more flames at Katsuku and quite literally began making fireworks, except the work was put into frying Katsuku.
With fire.
Bad joke, MOVING ON!
As Katsuku began to move around and re-evaluate his plan of action, he began to think, 'Wow, he's pissed. His daddy issues sure run deep in his heart.' Sending an explosion out to go higher into the air, he thought, 'Probably doesn't help that that jackass god made things unbelievably worse when he began to question why he exists.' Doing a front flip and sending out another shockwave with a powered kick that quelled the flames, he also thought, 'Damn, he needs a therapist and a psychologist!'
Shoto sent out ice towards Katsuku, which began moving towards him as concentrated pillars that should not be in his skill range, the fused teen then realized just how much he pissed off Todoroki, and how he had so much pent up frustration. As he blew up a pillar of ice, which sent shards of ice of different sizes out and hit the ground, Katsuku shouted, "What's wrong? My quips too strong for you?"
"Shut up!" Shoto shouted before sending a fire coated pillar of ice that was really just ice sent out and coated in flames, in which case, Katsuku dodged it with a midair roll before still getting hit by a pillar of ice that came from below him, and then he got hit again but by Shoto's flames. "Shut up you egomaniac!"
Katsuku was dazed, so he didn't quite catch that as the feeling of being burned quite literally put him in a state of shock for like 3 seconds though it felt like longer due to the shock, before Katsuku thought to himself, 'So… this is what it must've felt like for Izuku. Damn… it hurts.' As he focused on the pain for a bit, he recovered and quickly landed on the ground, also noting how his outfit was damaged, or at least the jacket was.
"SHOTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Endeavor yelled from the stands, which made everyone turn to look at the number two hero. "So you finally decide to embrace your fi-"
"SHUT UP!" Shoto yelled at Endeavor. "You don't have permission to speak you bastard!"
There were gasps coming from the crowd, with some important ones coming from Katsuku, Present Mic, Aizawa, Midnight, All Might, Shoto's Family thought they were all watching from different points, and… you should get the picture.
"Not my place to pry, but it sounds like there is some family drama down there," Mic said, though not in his usual announcer tone. He was talking in his low 'I am concerned' tone. Aizawa was clearly also concerned as this was one of his students, and he knew that something was up. Something that might need legal action.
"You think I want to use this?!" Shoto said, before he put his left hand over his left eye, the one with the scar. "You think, I want to become the Number One hero?!" Then Shoto began to laugh, clearly delusional from everything that's been happening. "I don't give a damn about any of that!"
"I think you should call the match there and label it as a draw," Katsuku said to Midnight. "It's obvious that he needs a psych check and if this continues he might do something he'll regret."
"You're right, I very well might do something I'll regret," Todoroki said before pointing at Katsuku. "Which is why we're going to fight. So I can finally vent all these damn emotions!" Todoroki said before ice appeared at his feet and flames came from his arm. "Because not only do I hate you Midorigo, I can't see anyone else that could fight me and actually be on my level! Understand me! And also be at my level!"
"Yep he's insane," Katsuku said, before Todoroki sent another wave of flames at Katsuku, before countered with a 100% Finger Flick with One For All, while yelling, "Delaware Smash!" The flames were put out and Katsuku shouted, "Fine you crazy fucker! I'll fight you!" Katsuku then activated One For All at however much it could fucking go to since he didn't fucking care the percent since he's just trying to help his friend overcome his-
Holy shit, he called Shoto a friend!
That's honestly adorable. Sort of. Not really.
"Now come and get me, pretty boy!" Katsuku shouted at Shoto as the two fought.
Moving in quickly with a lunge, Katsuku used OFA and delivered a shock wave that hit Shoto in the gut and sent him back, but Shoto stopped himself from moving out of bounds by using his ice to make a small wall to prevent him from getting sent closer to the out of bounds, which was two tiles away. The fused warrior didn't give Shoto any room to breathe as he quickly assaulted Shoto with a barrage of punches and kicks, beating him into the very ice wall he made, before he was forced back by an eruption of flames coming from Shoto's left side, in which case Katsuku jumped back with the use of his explosions, which also damaged Shoto a bit.
Cursing under his angered breath, Shoto sent flames at Katsuku, who dodged with an explosion, before hitting a wall of ice that suddenly popped up. Shoto tossed more flames at the stun Katsuku, who quickly swung his arm and created enough air pressure to change the course of the flames, giving him time to get out of the way.
As Katsuku prepared to land, Shoto then froze the ground surrounding the fight area, and the grass and walls around it as well, causing Katsuku to nearly slip on the ice. Shoto used some of his ice to propel himself forward towards Katsuku, preparing to strike him with a flame coated fist.
Seeing this inevitable clash, Katsuku balled a hand and mustered forth One For All again.
"Cementoss!" Midnight said as she began using her Quirk to try and move in quickly.
"If they hit each other, that could have lethal effects!" Cementoss said as he tried to use his Quirk to prevent the inevitable clash between the two.
As Katsuku prepared for Shoto, he let out a smirk before using his free hand and launching himself above Shoto. He then flipped and spun around, this time going for a roundhouse kick, which was his true intent upon seeing Shoto begin to move towards him.
'The fist was a fient!' Shoto realized, though it was too late for him to do anything as Katsuku landed the kick to his midsection, and sent Shoto flying out of bounds.
As Shoto hit the ice against the wall and then on the ground, and Katsuku shouted while throwing his hands into the air, "I WO-FUCK, MY BROKEN FINGER!" Katsuku then clutched his broken finger.
"Actually, you didn't win," Mic said, spoiling the mood.
Katsuku looked at him. "The fuck?! But he's out of bounds!"
"Actually, he froze the arena, so technically, unless you threw him into the audience, which is illegal and will result in an immediate removal from the tournament, or broke ice and actually have him touch the walls of the arena or the grass, he's not considered out of bounds," Midnight explained.
"That's bullshit!" Katsuku shouted.
"That's fucking genius!" Shoto shouted before sending another wave of flames at Katsuku, who countered with a heavy explosion.
"I can still win this!" Katsuku said. "Fuck the out of bounds r-"
"And Shoto Todoroki is out of bounds, due to melting the very ice that saved him, what a twist," Aizawa said, before everyone looked at Shoto's feet, at which he was standing on the dirt that was under the ice.
"Damn it!" Shoto and Katsuku shouted, though for different reasons. Shoto's was because he wasn't satisfied with this ending of their fight, and Katsuku's was because this was an insult to his pride since Shoto basically just rang himself out.
And also because he was trying to help Shoto vent, but that's not something he'd admit any time soon at least.
"Katsuku Midorigo moves to the next round!" Mic said.
"I demand a rematch!" Katsuku said.
"Nope, we'd be here all day," Mic said. "Moving on to the next round between Tenya Iida and Ibara Shiozaki!"
"We need to melt the ice first," Aizawa said to Mic.
"Oh, right," Mic realized.
As Katsuku left the arena, although a bit salty, he was walking alongside Todoroki, who was also still mad, but it was obvious that he was doing a tad bit better than earlier.
"So," the Class Rep began as he looked at the Fire/Ice user, "you feeling at least a bit better?"
"Depends," Shoto said. "What describes me feeling 'better' as?"
"Uh…" Katsuku shrugged. "I guess not feeling as stricken with anger as before, and slightly over your issues, or just-"
"I'm not doing any better then," Shoto replied bluntly. "If anything, that ending made things even worse." Shoto put his left hand over his scar. "I just feel like I'm going to erupt in flames from my left side." Katsuku looked at him in silence. "I have no idea whether or not I'm okay. I just feel as though I've lost my sense of self." Shoto then smiled, before laughing a bit. "If there is one thing that I do know…" Shoto picked up the pace and walked past Katsuku. "I'm going to become the strongest Hero on my own terms!"
As Katsuku watched the youngest Todoroki leave, Katsuku then thought to himself, 'He's gone fucking psychotic.'
I think this chapter is more or less just trying to portray Shoto's feelings, Katsuku's ability to just suddenly disconnect from the world, Katsuku's sympathy that comes from Izuku's side, and also the path I have in mind for Shoto in this story. In fact, I daresay that Shoto is going to be the main rival for Katsuku in this story, with Shoto actually becoming more like Dabi as a Hero in this story the more time goes on.
As for Uraraka's fight with Inasa, it's nothing against Uraraka or Inasa, but it's just one of those fights that have no real significance to the story, at least in my opinion, and it wasn't one I feel like would be interesting to write. In all honesty, this chapter was probably the most important one to date, since I do want to build on Todoroki's emotions, toy with him a bit, and bring out his pent up emotions.
See you later, peace out!
Now to prepare for my birthday.
