Right so, when I was originally planning these POV chapters, I was gonna make them a separate side story for them, but I decided keeping them in story would just be easier for all involved, as well as allow me a bit more freedom in chapters if I wanted a quick aside.

But I also felt bad making this just, the weekly chapter, since it's not technically progressing the plot, soooo bonus chapter. Would it be smarter to just keep this as the weekly upload and thus have a chapter ahead written? Especially since tax season is starting and thus, I might have less time to write? Sure. Obviously, I did not do that.

thewittywhy: it's a good thing that that describes a majority of Veget's fights. It's a shame that so few are in the vicinity of SIGohan
The snark is the most important addition of SIGohan

frankieu:'tis to be seen

Shadowj6480: Hey, canon Gohan did not have it easy there. If anything, I just added more details to the injuries incurred that were otherwise covered by animation limitations
That was not a purposeful typo, but I'm also not gonna go fix it, because that is, in fact, very funny
Hey, Krillin is a king, and heck if I'm not gonna take advantage of his greatest character strength, his empathy and just being like, the best person in the show. Krillin is the emotional backbone of the show, and I shall take full advantage.
And yeah, while Vegeta definitely kills the most casually, it does get a bit casual, though it's probably due to how death works, and how everyone in the main cast has died. As in, literally everyone. Mr. Satan is the only person on earth who has not died, and I adore that exception.
And yes, the Abridged series is a valuable resource, though one best used sparingly. The fic that had inspired me to reference it, did do so a tad too often for my taste. I can't quite remember the name of it though, it was another SI Reincarnation fic

Slayer76: Blue screen lol. It's really a shame Vegeta just about closes the gap pretty quickly due to the Zenkai boost

HeartlessNobody13: Ah yes, I am also looking forward to those two arcs. Androids because I adore them with my heart and soul, and Cell for...other reasons, hehe. We do have a few steppingstones to get through first.
And thanks ^.^ fight scenes are what I feel I am worst at so it's encouraging to hear you enjoyed them.

xXSelenaXx: Hey, there's safety in canon. Things will obviously change, but most of the time it'd be against SIGohan's wishes
And yeah, the 250,000 was obviously so that the Frieza fight wasn't absurdly outclassed. Just completely outclassed. Recoom shall get yeeted in time, but afraid having her do it doesn't quite fit in
And yes you have, as at least for now I am responding to all comments, it is a fairly reliable way to get in. This may change however if I start getting too many reviews to respond to, but I doubt we'll get there all that soon

Nappa.

The legend of Namek's magical balls was always just that, a legend. There was never a reason to pursue it further.

And then the Runt died on some backwater planet called Earth. He had gone after Nappa was making fun of him again, and insisted that there was another Sayain left that could help them. Supposedly he had a brother.

And find his brother he did, but the fool managed to get both of them killed at once instead.

It was a shame, there were so few Sayains left, for half of them to be wiped in a single attack, a real shame.

But the Namek who had killed them didn't seem bothered by his ally falling, no, he spoke about their supposed Dragon Balls and how they'd be used to bring their friend back to life just fine.

Almost instantly, Vegeta had set a course to Earth. The planet would make a good price on the market, but the real goal was that wish.

Nappa had initially wanted to bring Raditz back. Weakling or not, every Sayain they could get would be necessary for keeping the Sayain race going, but Vegeta's plan of immortality was good too.

Hell, the way the Namek spoke of the Dragon Balls, it made it sound as if they'd used them multiple times before, so maybe they'd get more than one wish. But if that were the case, then maybe they should wish Raditz back first, that way he'd get immortality too. Maybe he wouldn't be such a coward with immortality behind him. That plus a few Zenkai boosts should make him a decent enough asset.

But Vegeta was dead set on his goals for now, so Nappa resolved to save that suggestion for later. They'd have to actually get the Balls first after all.

And so, they got to Earth and the first thing they had done was find the Namek who killed Raditz. It wasn't hard since their Scouters pointed them to the two strongest beings on this planet. It'd be two birds with one stone, they'd force the Namek to give them more information, and they'd get revenge for Raditz. Win-win.

Nappa almost immediately recognized the kid with the Namek as Sayain, and of course, he had heard Raditz mention Kakarot having a child.

It was perfect, the child didn't cower away like one would expect, and he was already almost as strong as Raditz was. Hell, these earthlings had shown their abilities to hide their power, he could have been stronger than Raditz for all he knew.

The kid was young enough that convincing him to switch sides shouldn't be all too difficult, and his spiteful attitude could only help when they eventually turned on Frieza. That pesky moral system was an issue, but that could always be whittled away with time.

But then that Kakarot had shown up and ruined everything. Apparently, his friends had been successful in bringing him back to life after all, and apparently, he had a power level of 5000.

That was an issue, but it shouldn't be impossible for him to win that fight. He'd just have to work at it a bit more, it wouldn't even be an issue for Vegeta.

And yet, Vegeta demanded the death of the three remaining foes regardless. The bald one, who was all around unremarkable, the Namek, who was supposed to give us information on the Dragon Balls, and the kid. The kid who Vegeta already said he could keep! He already had planned that-

Whatever, now he just had to make doubly sure that he gets to bring Raditz back. Especially now that they knew that crossbreeding was possible! The Sayain race would live on!

He had killed off the Namek, and to his surprise it caused the kid to pull out a surprising amount of power. A shame, but orders were orders.

But then Kakarot showed up. But then Kakarot showed up and made a fool of him! How dare that low-class scum make such an uproar! How dare he-

And then Vegeta called him down. He was to stop fighting. It wasn't fair. How could that low-class peasant be stronger than him? Power level of 8000! The Scouter had to have been broken.

But orders were orders and-

And-

And that kid. That kid had been watching. That kid had been enjoying this.

There was a light in his eyes and a grin on his lips that did not exist at any point prior. He enjoyed watching as his father beat him.

How dare he.

How dare he!

But his rage was fruitless. The instant he turned against the two smaller ones that Kakarot had beaten him again. There was a sharp pain in his back. And then he was tossed aside without thought or effort.

How dare he!

How dare, he-

He couldn't feel his legs.

Nappa's legs were numb, they wouldn't move.

It was nothing, he'd be taken to a healing tank, and he'd be good as new in no time.

That Kakarot was just, letting him go, like the fool he was.

All it would take was, Vegeta bringing him there.

Vegeta, who has shown no interest in bringing back Raditz.

Vegeta, who killed a Saibaman for losing a fight.

But of course he would! He wouldn't leave him here.

For a moment Nappa's concerns were dispelled. Vegeta extended his hand towards Nappa. Thanks were already on Nappa's lips.

But then his face twisted and Nappa's gut did in turn.

But no attack ever came.

Rather, one did, but not from Vegeta.

Instead, it was that kid. That kid was glaring over and had just shot a blast at Vegeta.

For what? For turning against Nappa? That kid hardly seemed to want to side with him.

And he never once looked directly at Nappa as he complained about Vegeta's actions. About how they were stupid.

Any questions of why were left for another time as Nappa's world went dark.

When he woke, the first thing he noticed was the smell of rubbing alcohol. There were others in the room, but none of them noticed he awoke so he didn't inform them.

For the first while he festered, allowing his rage to boil and seethe.

How could he! How could Vegeta turn against him! Him! He practically raised that boy after the loss of Planet Vegeta!

But of course he did. Of course he did because as much as he was raised by Nappa, it was under the rule of Frieza. Failure of any degree was not tolerated under Frieza.

After his rage died down, he did what he had been doing for years under Frieza's rule.

He listened.

He had listened as words of an uprising boiled amongst the Sayain ranks.

He had listened as a young boy of a Prince dismayed over the loss of everything he had known.

He had listened as rumors of Frieza destroying Planet Vegeta swarmed.

And now, he listened. He listened to these people as they cared for Kakarot. As they planned to go to Planet Namek. As they snarked and snapped. Never once paying any mind to the fact that Kakarot was infinitely more powerful than them.

He listened as the doctors said he would never recover the use of his legs.

They would have. They would have in a healing chamber. If Vegeta brought him with him. If he wasn't stuck in this useless-

If he weren't here, he'd be dead.

He should be dead.

He should be dead.

That thought stuck in his head for a moment too long. And every once in a while, that thought would return.

It plagued him, but he pushed it to the side. He never was one to dwell on things.

It wouldn't be that bad, he had tried to reason. He could still fly. Vegeta was too young to remember, but Sayains who were permanently injured in battle were once looked highly upon. The ones who would fight beyond their limits, who would sacrifice their well-being for the job. They were looked at with reverence.

And pity.

And the last thing Nappa wanted to be was pitiful.

He listened when that kid woke up.

They spoke of the Dragon Balls, there were apparently more rules to the wishes, he'd have to ask more about that.

Assuming anyone would answer him.

But for now, he listened.

As the kid declared he too, would be going to Namek along with the midget and the woman who had just learned to pilot a ship.

Kakarot saw no issues with this.

Of course, they had sent children into space for their missions all the time, but their ships were state of the line and completely autopilot. Not some, centuries-old ship with who knows what issues.

He listened and waited until the child was alone to question him, because it couldn't have been that simple, why he was still alive. But according to the kid, it was.

That was the only reason he wasn't dead. Like he should have been.

But then, children weren't known for their logic, but if that were the case the kid should have hated him. He never should have even thought to help.

Then the child was gone and once again he listened. It was getting boring but hell if he was going to accept pity from some powerless humans.

He just focused on listening and trying to get his foot to move.

He listened as that idiot Kakarot ignored the doctors' orders and went out to train. He might be stupid, but even he knew you were supposed to rest as you healed.

Especially when you don't have healing pods.

He listened as the doctors spoke. He was pretty sure they knew he was awake, but they never asked so he never engaged.

He listened as that Kakarot's wife snapped and yelled at him for ignoring the doctor's orders before she left the room with a slam of the door.

'Scathing.'

He listened as the old man told Kakarot that Frieza was on Namek.

And, for a moment, he felt bad. He felt bad because he was sure, he was sure that as long as those three didn't run into anyone from Frieza's army they'd be fine. Hell, if they just ran into some lower leveled grunts, they'd probably be fine. Or at least the kid would.

But it wasn't like he could do anything about it.

Then, the man who had apparently cut off Vegeta's tail, ha! good for him, came in with those magical healing beans.

He remembered those. He remembered that Kakarot feeding one to his son and friend. They were healed instantly.

Maybe. Maybe if he could get one of those beans, he'd get his legs back.

Maybe if they left them unattended for a moment he could-

"Hey. I know you're awake."

Slowly he opened his eyes to see that Kakarot standing over him. He had some stupid smile and far too innocent a light in his eyes.

His friends had brought him a change of clothes, that annoyingly bright orange outfit that offered no protection.

"Here, eat this," he held out one of the beans.

"What?"

"It's a Senzu Bean. The doctors said your legs wouldn't get better, but one of these should fix you up good as new!"

His friends, apparently having some form of common sense, questioned his actions, but he just waved them off, still holding out the bean.

And so, Nappa took it. With suspicion and never taking his eyes off that Kakarot, he ate the bean, and the instant he swallowed-

He could feel his legs again.

He could move his foot, and his leg. Both of them.

He sat up on the side of the bed. He didn't say anything for a moment, and then-

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

It was barely an accusation, that Kakarot's friends recoiled in shock at the question against his kindness. The correct reaction. Kakarot only tilted his head in genuine confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"That- you-" he found he didn't even have to words to describe how stupid what that Kakarot did was.

That idiot Kakarot was far too trusting.

That idiot Kakarot was going to get himself killed, his friends killed, and his kid killed if he kept acting like that.

That idiot Kakarot was the reason he could stand right now.

He was given clothes. Apparently, it was difficult to find anything that would fit him here, so these were from Kakarot's father-in-law from when he had, quote, "been in better shape."

It wasn't a perfect fit, and the lack of armor annoyed him, but, it was far more than what he deserved from these people.

Now that he could feel below his waist, he noticed his tail had been cut. He should have been upset, but if anything, he was relieved that at least that Kakarot's kid wasn't as stupid as his father. Or it could have been the bald man. Who knows.

And when Kakarot said he was leaving to see if the Blue haired woman's father had finished a spaceship he'd been working on, he had to say something.

"Wait. Take me with you."

For a moment, Kakarot only stared at him, and for a moment Nappa thought he was going to deny his request. That would have been the first common sense thing for that idiot to-

"Ok! It'd be fun to have a training partner!"

He…didn't even ask any follow-up questions.

"Oh but, I guess I should mention that if you try anything, uh, you'll regret it."

And Nappa could almost laugh. Oh, he was sure that Kakarot was stronger than he was. Surely whatever boost he got from having his body crushed by Vegeta was immense.

He just, couldn't take the threat seriously, not after all this.

But even so, he made better company than Vegeta.

Vegeta…

He was still upset at Vegeta for trying to kill him. Of course he was. But he could forgive him eventually. Not that Vegeta would ever acknowledge what he did as wrong but-

But he was still the closest thing to a friend he'd had since Planet Vegeta had been destroyed.

But still. He resolved himself to the fact that if he had to choose, if he had to choose between Vegeta and these people. Then he would choose these people who showed him kindness when he did not deserve it from them.

Of course, the most ideal situation would be if Vegeta could just join their side.

The thought almost made him laugh.

As if that would ever happen.

I almost immediately regretted choosing to write this in third person, since I had to go back and fix the use of I and Me several times, but it would allow for the most consistency going forward.

Writing Nappa here was interesting, cause yeah, he's obviously pretty stupid, but he's not naive like Goku is. I mean, he's lived under Frieza for a minimum of 25 years, he's certainly been through the ropes
