Hello everyone! By the time you read this it'll already be the weekend which is crazy to me, I hope you all had a good week. Thank you for all of your kind reviews from the beginning of this fic to now. I wouldn't be here without you! For this chapter will be our second to last, I may add an epilogue but we'll see how I feel and where creativity takes me. Please be aware that there will be some time skips but other than that please enjoy the rest of A Fresh Start.

Lucy's own eyes darkened at that declaration and decided what's the harm in a little danger. "I hope you make good on that." was all she said before claiming his lips entirely. Knowing that he would in fact make her eat her words.

Two Years Later

Lucy awoke to the feel of a warm body pressed against hers, delicious heat rolled off her skin in waves. Content to where she was and even more sure that she could die happy where she was laying, she tried to go back to sleep when she heard the patter of feet entering her room. With a small sigh she opened her eyes, the sight something not out of the norm but still made her heart flutter when she woke up most mornings. Natsu trapped her against his chest, her back pressing against the hard planes of his upper body, arms circling around her waist in a tight embrace, and his forehead resting against the nape of her neck. His breath swirled down her spine with goosebumps trailing not too far behind. When she refocused her attention, she saw a head of brown hair cresting the edge of their bed. Sighing she smiled up at her five year old boy.

"Good morning baby." She said softly, lightly ruffling his hair.

"Good morning mama." was all he said back.

"You sleep well?"

A shake of his head was all the confirmation she got. "What are you up to?" she asked.

"I'm going to scare dad." He said in a hushed voice an 'evil' smile, as he puts it, makes its way onto his face. Hearing this Lucy nods and ushers him along. Kade gives a quiet chuckle before Lucy feels the bed dip behind her.

Bracing herself for the impending scare she starts leaning out of bed as slowly as she can so as not to disturb Natsu's snoring.

Without a second thought Kade jumps onto Natsu with all his might and yells as loud as he can, "WAKE UP DADDY!"

Natsu, not expecting the rude awakening, jolts upright with a panicked sort of drowsiness. The one akin to being half awake half asleep. His brain still trying to properly wire itself. He gazed blearily up at a giggling Kade before making his way to a snickering Lucy who covered a hand over her mouth to hide her laughter. A faint twinkle appeared in Natsu's eyes after the morning fog had cleared from his head.

Lucy stilled in her laughter seeing that knowing look. She could recognize it almost immediately after spending two years with this man. "Natsu no." she chimed in, her voice laced with a low warning. Natsu leaned in closer to her, a predator spotting his prey. Readying to pounce, Natsu's smile widened, "What's wrong Luce?" His voice is the epitome of innocence.

"Whatever you're thinking about doing, don't."

Natsu released a huff, "And to think I was going to give you a good morning kiss." he eyed her, "Guess I'll have to do this instead." like a feral jungle cat Natsu struck fast, his fingers flying to her sides in an instant tickling her in the spots he knew almost as well as he knew the back of his hand. She kicked and squirmed trying not hurting him but he was relentless. His fingers never left her sides no matter how fast she jerked her body. Small fists pounded Natsu's back, not any harder than a bump as Kade never wanted to hurt him, he giggled in delight, "No daddy, you can't tickle her." looking over Natsu's shoulder he looked at his mother, "I'll save you mommy!"

"You you will, will ya?" Natsu laughed darkly. "That leaves me little choice. If you wanna save mommy you have to pass through me." Natsu gave a mighty roar before launching at his newest victim, Kade's laughter following soon after.

"No daddy stop. I can't breathe." he cried.

"You know the magic words." was all Natsu said, keeping up his frantic tickling. Lucy just watched them, regaining her own breath in the process.

"Okay. Okay. Daddy's the best." Kade proclaimed between breaths.

Natsu dropped his fingers and blew a raspberry on his stomach, "An' don't you forget it."

Kade ran out the room with frantic feet. A breathless laugh coming from the living room. Lucy turned to Natsu, "Guess it's time to get up, I was hoping we'd be able to sleep in this weekend."

"With that little demon." He planted a kiss to her lips, "never."

"Wonder where he gets his energy from."

"Who knows. I think he takes after this super handsome soccer coach. I think you'd really like him."

"You think so?"

Standing, Natsu inched closer to the door all the while keeping eye contact with Lucy, "oh yeah, great with kids, super funny, oh and I think I heard someone say he's like, this amazing cook. Did I mention that he's super hot already?" He quirked a brow at her.

"Wow, sounds like my type." She strode up to him her hand gliding from his abdomen to his chest in a distracting mannor, "there's only one thing I think you misheard."

"And what's that?" he asked, completely trapped in her gaze.

"He's not actually funny." she booped his nose before making her quick escape to wherever Kade was.

Natsu stared at the space she had just occupied, blinking once…twice… "Hey!"

Laughter could be heard from the small apartment of theirs, warmth seeping through the walls and floors of the adjoining rooms.

When finished with breakfast the family made their way to the car, pulling out of the parking spot and making their way over to the sports center. Kade, still enrolled in the soccer program, had one of his games later on this afternoon. They were going early to get in some extra practice.

"You ready for your game buddy?" Natsu said from the driver side of the car using the rear view mirror to look at him.

"Oh yeah!"

"That's what I liked to hear." he said while absently grabbing Lucy's hand. Making a subtle remark of how he still hadn't given her a ring yet. They were practically married at this point, but Natsu didn't like it when other men noticed her hand not adoring a ring and thinking it was okay to hit on her. Regardless Natsu always chased them away, puffing his chest up before being teased about it later on.

All would be well though. What Lucy didn't know was she was in for the surprise of her life…if she said yes.

A/N:

Okay everyone that was Part 1 of 2. I hope everyone is excited for this proposal. I love this trope so much so I'm really excited to take a stab at it myself. Natsu had some help arranging this and there will be an explanation in the last chapter. But it was so fun writing this fic, I know I'm still a baby author but I truly appreciate everyone's support and it makes me happy to see you happy!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you: Guest, Rao hyuga 18, and Nalusniper for reviewing!
