Jacob's face grew irritated. "Alright, I get why you'd be suspicious of me, it's a fairly understandable position. But her? The girl who's lived in this village her entire life and dedicated herself to protecting it? I can't fucking believe you'd suspect her, nobody is that stupid." "Watch your langu-" His eyes sparked. "No, you watch your language, you old shitball! Are you senile or something? And you, get that fan off her throat, unless you'd like to lose that hand! You saw what I can do with my fists, and my sword is a thousand times deadlier!" Suki put a hand on his shoulder. "It's fine, Jacob. Oyaji, why?" The old man's resolve started to crumble at the hurt in her voice. "I…" "Because it is what is needed to keep our island safe from the outsiders who would wish to do us harm. She has fallen for the fire nation spy, and become one herself!"

The man behind him was gaunt and tall, nearly reaching up to Jacob's full height, dressed in extremely decorative garments, a bright green robe with golden trim and a pointed green hat, an embroidered earthbending symbol on the front with an unfolded warfan underneath it. His mustache curled up under his nose to reach the corners of his eyes, giving the appearance of large black teeth protruding from his mouth. Suddenly Jacob grinned. "Ah, are you the esteemed governor of this island? They really don't make politicians like they used to." The man raised his chin. "I am Governor Quing-Zha, the fortieth of this island. And I will not tolerate your lives continuing any longer! Kill them, now!"

The second the word had left his mouth, there was an ear-splitting noise and everyone made to cover their ears. Everyone except Jacob, who had used the distraction to pull out his sword and bat the fans away from their throats. When they realized what had happened, they started to reach for their other fans. His sword glinted threateningly in the hot afternoon sun. "I wouldn't if I were you. There's one thing keeping me from lopping all your heads off, and if she died, I'd massacre every single one of you." "Jacob!" He shrugged. "It's true. So, governor, would you care to explain why you think we're spies?" Zha growled out "A man such as myself has no need to explain why he orders something to be done." He chuckled and settled into an L-shaped stance, his sword appearing to almost glow red in the sunlight. "I don't quite think you understand the position you're in, governor. You're going to explain, and you're going to do it now. If you choose to remain silent, or your explanation fails to satisfy…" His sword leapt out and chopped off the tip of his hat, making him jump back in fright. "…I'll cut you down where you stand for daring to accuse her of something so heinous."

A villager rushed forward, and he tensed to strike. He stopped when he saw they had no weapon and weren't rushing at him, instead aiming for the group of girls behind him. The older woman threw her arms around Hikari and cried. "Oh, my sweet baby girl! You came back!" Hikari started to cry too, choking on her words. "Mama, I never left. I was in a dungeon up on Mt. Kyoshi, and those two… they went through thirty master firebenders to save me!" Him and Suki kept even faces, but inside were thinking 'Uhhh… let's go with that for now.' The governor began to sweat, tugging at his collar. "A trick! There were no firebenders, just elaborate displays put on to fool you into believing they rescued you!" She glared at him from her mother's arms. "Liar! I saw the bodies! Those were fire nation soldiers, and they were all dead!" He gawked as the rest of the villagers began to murmur amongst themselves, their eyes looking back and forth between the two parties. The Warriors let their hands fall away from their fans.

'Good shit, Hikari. Now for the coup de grace.' "That reminds me. Governor, what did you say happened to her? That she left the island, right?" Zha's face went pale as the villagers murmuring grew louder and more unabashed. "That's right, he did say that." "But why would he say that if she wasn't really gone? We could've mounted a rescue party!" Jacob rubbed his chin. "Why didn't he say so? That's a good question, and it has a good answer." He sheathed his sword and pointed straight at Zha. "You lied about Hikari leaving to keep anyone from looking into her disappearance! Because if they did, they would find out you had been kidnapping girls for a real fire nation spy and his rape dungeon!" The crowd gave a collective gasp of shock. "People of Chek! I ask you, what is the appropriate fate for such a man? How shall he be punished for this crime, of stealing your daughters and allowing a fire nation brute to have his way with them? Give me your answer, and I will mete out whatever you decide!" The crowd was disorganized and sloppy at first, but after a few moments they chanted as one "DEATH! DEATH! DEATH!"

He nodded slowly, shifting back into his L stance and grabbing his sword's pommel. "Quing-Zha, you have been judged. Do you have any last words?" His face was still pale, but there was a sinister smile on his face now. "Do you know how one becomes the governor of Kyoshi Island?" Jacob raised an eyebrow. "Do tell." "By being the strongest earthbender here!" He made a motion with his hand and a pointed column of earth shot up from the ground at both him and Suki. Jacob shook his head. "The standard must be pretty low, then." He clenched his hand and the pillars stopped. Zha's face lost all color and sweat poured off his body as he tried to force them forward. Jacob pushed his fist down and both of the spikes retracted. "I was going to chop off your head, but I can appreciate a bit of irony." He brought both of his hands together in a clapping motion, forcing two halves of earth to form a sphere, with Zha crushed paper-flat in the middle. He sank the whole thing into the ground and covered it up with more earth, leaving no trace behind of the man who had stood there moments earlier.

A man ran up to the group of villagers that were dispersing. "THEY'RE HERE! THEY'RE HERE!" Oyaji snapped his fingers at the man. "Don't just keep shouting! Who is here?" The man coughed for a moment to catch his breath, then shouted out "THE AVATAR IS HERE!" Jacob froze. 'What? I could've sworn he wasn't supposed to wake up for another few months!' He held back from the crush of people who had begun swarming to the center of the village. Suki stayed behind with him, and he raised an eyebrow at her. "Aren't you excited to go see the Avatar?" She grabbed his hand and looked up at him, a calm smile on her face. "He can wait. I have another extraordinary man in front of me." A light blush settled onto his cheeks. "I don't think I'd go see him either. Not when I've got an extraordinary woman in front of me." They nearly kissed before someone grabbed each of their free hands and started pulling them along. "This is no time for romance, the savior of the world is here!" They scowled at the same time and thought 'Asshole.'

The second they wrested themselves from the iron grip of the woman dragging them, they circumvented the town square and went back to the Kyoshi Warriors dojo. "Finally, some peace and quiet." Apparently Lady Luck was feeling pretty vindictive today, because a boy a bit younger than Jacob with a blue outfit, ponytail and several sheathed weapons strolled in. "Hey, know where I can find a good workout?" Suki rolled her eyes. "What is it with strangers and walking into our dojo these days?" Jacob shrugged. "Who knows? Either way, I get the feeling he's not going to be much like the last one." She patted his cheek. "Now that would be impossible." He got up and rolled his shoulders, then walked over to him. "I assume you came here looking for a sparring partner, right? Well, square up." The look on his face shifted from cocky to anxious, something Jacob noted. "You expected to have an easy fight against a woman, didn't you? I assure you, even the worst of them here could still kick your ass. Here, I'll go easy on you." He tossed his scabbard to the floor again and held his hands behind his back. "I won't use a single weapon and I won't even use my hands. Feel a little more confident now? Or is the little water tribe baby too scared to fight anyone that isn't a woman?"

A vein pulsed on his forehead and he took out a white club with a blue orb on the end. "What did you just say?!" He charged right in and Jacob smirked. 'I'll take a leaf out of Falcon's book for this one.' He jumped into the air and kicked him twice, once in the head and once in the chest. Ponytail fell back but not over. 'Oh? I had figured that would be enough.' Ponytail charged him again, slower and with his club more centered in front of him. 'He learns fast, but pain is one of the best motivators. Let's give him some more.' He pivoted around the overhead club swing and did almost a full split with one leg in the air, slamming it down onto the back of his head and bouncing him off the tatami. He jumped up and shoved his knee forward, catching Ponytail in the stomach and sending him flying back to slump against the wall in defeat. Jacob took his arms out from behind his back and pulled the scabbard over through the air. "Terrible. I'd take Suki into a fight over you a thousand times out of a thousand. And that's why I took this fight, you weren't worth her time." He picked him up by the back of his shirt and dragged him out of the dojo. Ponytail protested loudly. "Hey, what do you think you're doing?!" "Isn't that obvious? The Avatar showed up, and you're definitely not him, so you're traveling with him. And I can't entrust our world's savior to the hands of a weakling like you. You're going through Jacob's bootcamp, whether you like it or not. Got a favorite color?"

"A favorite color? What does that have to do with anything?" Jacob nodded. "You're right. I feel a good bit of rhodonite around here, so pink it is." He ripped several of the deep pink crystals up from the ground and slapped his hands together around them. They formed a sword of the same color approximately two-thirds the length of Emeradic Reaper, which he tossed over to Ponytail. "Ugh. Why is this thing so heavy?" He shrugged. "It would ruin the point if it wasn't. That's the first step of your training. Carry that thirty pound slab of rock with you, morning, noon, and night, until you can use it like a real sword. Then the real training begins. Until that time, the edge will be dulled." Ponytail had begun to run his finger over the edge critically. He stopped and whistled innocently. "Ah. And if it drags on the ground, you're doing a thousand push-ups, a thousand sit-ups, and a ten kilometer run, all with, mmm, let's call it Cherry Blossom for now, on your back." His eyes widened and he started to shout "Are you freakin' crazy?!" Jacob rolled his shoulders and tapped his own sword. "That's exactly what I did, and this baby is almost triple the weight of yours. Now go do whatever you came here to do, and if you pester the Warriors again, I'll let them kick your ass. They won't hold back." He almost started to walk away, then stopped for a moment. "Right, I almost forgot. What's your name, Ponytail?" "Sokka. And one day, I'm going to kick your ass!" He started to chuckle, and then it turned into a full fledged laugh. "BAHAHAHA! I can't wait to see you try!"

His slow gait reflected his general interest in the Avatar. 'He was supposed to be a master by the time he turned twelve, right? So he shouldn't be a pushover.' The thought had barely left his mind before seemingly out of nowhere he stepped on something invisible, almost making him lose his balance. He bent over backwards to catch the ground with a hand, keeping mostly upright. The air itself seemed to push his foot up further, so he pulled himself into a one-handed handstand. "I like a good prank as much as the next guy, but you're really only supposed to pull them on people you know." He flipped forward onto thankfully solid ground and extended a hand. "Jacob Hayes. Your name i-" he froze at the sight in front of him. 'Hey, uh, WHAT THE FUCK?!' A twelve-year old girl with deep brown hair, pale skin, orange and yellow clothes, and blue arrow tattoos snaking around her body ignored his shock and shook his hand eagerly. "I'm Aya! Nice to meet you!" He collected his thoughts in a fraction of a second, the summary of which went something like this: 'The Avatar is a girl. What does that mean for the rest of the world? What else is changed? Who else is changed? Wait, what am I doing? This is a pretty big punch, but I'll just have to do a pretty big roll.' He nodded and shook back. "You too. You're the Avatar, then?" She had stopped shaking and looked down at his hand in surprise. "You feel… really familiar. I felt it earlier, too." 'Must be because we're both icons.' Jacob shook his head. "Can't say the same. I have a lot of questions I'd like to ask you, but it can wait. Care for a game of roccer?" "What's that? Is it anything like airball?" He shrugged. "Maybe, never played. Come on, I can make a court in a few seconds."

Kyoshi Island

Forest outside Chek

He looked around at the clearing, about a minute's walk from the village. A large crowd of people had followed them out, and he motioned for them to stand back a bit. He stomped the ground with a foot and raised his hands into the air. The ground flattened out and turned into bare dirt, and two hollow half-circles popped out of the ground, one on either side of the field. Next he ripped a black substance out of the ground. 'Bitumen, perfect. This place must have been an ocean at some point. Who'd have thought all my geology books would come in handy someday?' He forced it to expand in his hands, until it was about the size of a human head. Jacob bounced it up and down off the ground once or twice, satisfied with the elasticity, and kicked it to the center of the arena, some twenty feet away. "Rules are as follows: Score by getting the ball into the other player's dome" he thumbed behind him. " using only your feet and your bending. You can't bend the ball directly, but other things around it are fair game. No contact with the other player or players allowed, bending or otherwise, and no obstructing the goals. Best of 5." Aya took her place across the field from him, as one of the villagers stepped up to the middle. "Ready? Three, two, one, GO!"

'She's fast, way faster than me. I'm going to need to outsmart her, but that's not too likely either. This is going to- what am I doing? It's a game, not a fight.' He dashed forward, a futile effort as she reached the ball long before him. She reared back her leg and kicked it hard, air pushing the ball of rubber-like rock faster. He pulled his hand up, making a small series of walls with the first directly in the way, while the others were seemingly pointless. He let the ball pass him and kicked it again, accelerating it further. It ricocheted off the first wall and into the second. On the way to the third, it curved away, circling back around towards Aya. He grinned. "Good, I didn't want this to be too easy. But you haven't noticed yet." The ball didn't lose any speed as it seemed to disappear. A split second later it apparated out of nowhere and flew straight into her goal. She gasped and ran over to where it disappeared. There was a small ramp there, camouflaged into the rest of the field, with a tunnel underneath it. The opposite end led right in front of her goal.

The referee picked up the ball and returned it to the center. "Jacob, The Mysterious Traveler 1, Aya the Avatar 0. Three, two, one, GO!" He didn't waste any time before punching the ground with a fist and making a fissure open under the ball. He slammed it shut, forcing it to fly up and out at an incredible speed. Aya grunted and blew a gust of air at the speeding black orb, forcing it even higher. 'Crap, it's way out of my field now. Unless… got it!' He punched the ground once more, making two small rocks come up. He tossed them up and kicked each into the air, one after another. The first hit it head on, coming straight down towards her goal. She bent the air flow around the ball, pulling it back towards his. Jacob was grinning the whole time. The second rock slammed into the first that had begun to fall, which chained into the intended target, and now that it was feet from the ground, it smacked into her goal once more. "You're really good at this!" He scratched the back of his head. "I've had a lot of practice, that's all." 'No need to tell her that the practice was so Toph could sense earth that wasn't connected to the ground.'

"Jacob, The Mysterious Traveler 2, Aya the Avatar 0. Three, two, one, GO!" 'Not really a fan of that name. Meh, maybe it'll change soon.' Aya was the one to move first this time, jetting the ball forward with a gust of air. A gaping pit opened up underneath it, but it kept coasting over. 'She's learning frighteningly quickly not to let go for even a second. Thankfully she can't hold on to it with all that much force. I think it's time for the mixup.' He closed the ground underneath it and feigned a kick with his right leg. The ball swerved out of the way as he dropped to a knee and lashed out with his left. It slammed into the now-dusty black orb with a deceptive amount of force for a seemingly panicked attack, disrupting the shield of air around it. He rolled forward after the ball and kept dribbling it with harsh taps whenever the dust particles started to whirl. Aya stayed by her goal, waiting for some sort of bending move. It never came. When he reached the final ten feet she darted forward. He tapped the bottom of the ball, sending it at her face, making her flinch and put her arms up to guard. He jumped up and kicked it a few inches higher, then bent a pillar of earth up to his hand and used it to rotate his body. A savage axe kick slammed down onto the ball, and it broke through the back wall of her goal. All this took less than a second. He backflipped off and let the pillar recede as Aya opened her eyes.

"I lost, didn't I?" He shrugged. "It's not about whether you win or lose, it's about how you play the game. And you made the closest thing to a professional sweat for it. I see why the fire nation handl-mmmffff." Someone had come up behind him and put a hand over his mouth. He licked and they pulled it away. "EWWW!" He craned his head behind him, hovering just in front of the brown-skinned girl. "That's what you get for being so fu- I mean freakin' rude. No "excuse me," no "ahem," not even tapping my shoulder? You're almost as bad as Sokka. Is it just something about water tribe people that you're all ill-mannered? Interrupting people seems to be your specialty." He bent his head back forward. "Like I was saying, you're a bender to be reckoned with. I see why the fire na-aaaghhh." This time she had chosen to pull him away by the ear instead of covering his mouth. "Improving slightly, still horrible. If you really have something that important to say, I'm all ears, and would prefer you stop pulling them." She let go of his ear, making him fall towards the ground. He caught himself with a single arm. "Man, fuck you too I guess. I'm getting pretty sick of the way you're treating me. Pull something like that again and I'm going to break your arm."

She got closer to him and hissed into his ear "Aya doesn't know all the air nomads are dead!" He blinked once. "And you haven't told her, why? She's going to want to go home eventually, and when there's nobody there except a bunch of dusty bones, it's not going to go over well." 'Right, I forgot. The southern air temple didn't have any female airbenders, she wouldn't have wanted to go there first. She'd have tried to go to the east or west, where she thought home was.' She folded her arms and frowned. "How do you expect me to break it to someone that I met a few weeks ago that their entire family, no, race is dead?" Jacob hummed, rubbed his chin for a bit, then nodded. "I see your point. That would be pretty difficult."

She breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you. I'm sorry, but I just don't want Aya to fall apart. It was tough enough waking up after being in an iceberg for a hundred years." He waved a hand around as they walked back over. "No, it's fine. Your concern for a friend is admirable, if slightly misguided." "Hey, Katara, what were you talking about?" Jacob looked straight into Aya's cheerful face. "Eh, nothing much. Every air nomad is dead." Katara's jaw dropped. "Wha- but you said you got my point!" He nodded, still looking at Aya out of the corner of his eye. "Yep. I've known her for half an hour, so it shouldn't sting as much coming from me. Do me a solid and get everyone out of here. Like, right the fuck now." Rock climbed up around his legs, rooting him to the spot as Katara growled at him "And what the hell are you going to do?!" "Whatever I can. I like a singular person from this town, and she'd be pretty pissed if I let it get blown apart by a tornadoooohhhh shit." Aya's eyes rolled back in her head, turning a glowing white as a fierce wind started up. Her tattoos did the same and he clapped his hands together. A hollow shell came up around her, just large enough to contain the swirling air. He didn't hesitate for a second, making more and more layers to the shell, until it was nearly thirty feet thick, even surrounding him. 'That's probably not going to be enough if this goes on uninterrupted. Thankfully, I have a plan that will either work or kill me.'

He started to bend the earth around him, making some of it into an armor-like shell. Jacob hadn't stopped adding more and more layers to the outside of the dome, and when he finally broke through to the center he started adding faster. The wind itself was biting and cold, chopping through the facsimile skin in seconds, but being unable, or maybe unwilling, to pierce his skin, doing much the same to the dome. Where before Aya had about two inches of headroom, she now had ten feet. It forced him back against the wall, and he had to strain to take even small steps towards the raging orange blur at the center. He rooted himself to the ground every step he took. He risked a glance at his SP bar and broke out in a cold sweat that got whipped away by the wind instantly. 'I can keep this up for another ten seconds, tops. I'd better make them count.' He gave up on rooting himself and instead started making divots, both figuratively and literally throwing caution to the wind. An especially dense sphere of the same was directly in the center, surrounding the curled up girl. The closer he got, the better he could see, even as the tendrils of air started to make small cuts in his skin. Tears were streaming down from her eyes, and her mouth couldn't decide whether to be wailing in sadness or roaring in anger. 'Just a little more… gotcha!'

He managed to grab her arm and hauled her towards himself with the last of his strength. He wrapped her in a hug and started talking in a low voice. "It's okay. Let it all out, Aya. I can take it." 'No I can't.' "It's good that you feel this way. It's good to grieve." 'It's not good for my health.' He snapped at himself 'Will you quit being a cynic for ten seconds and console the obviously distraught child in front of you?! It's your fault she's like this, asshole!' "I'm here. Give me all of your pain, your sadness, your anger. Let me take this burden off your shoulders." He started to rub her arms as he said this, still cradling her in his own. The winds lessened in intensity and her tattoos started to dim. 'It's working! Stop, don't think about it, keep going.' "There's no need to be afraid. There's no need to be sad. I'll keep you safe, I'll help you face your emotions head on. Whatever it takes." The winds finally died down, and he was left with a sobbing pre-teen in his arms, and a total SP bar of 3. "Shhh. It's okay, Aya. I've got you." She pressed deeper into his chest, her eyes still flowing wildly, running tears down his many scars. He held her in silence, knowing that it was exactly what she needed.

It took ten minutes for her to finish crying. No more tears came out, and she gradually stopped sobbing. Now that he knew he could, he bent what he thought was the right way to spell "Fine, taking care of her mental issues." onto the outside of the dome. She pulled her head up, puffy red tracks under her eyes. "Are they really…" he nodded grimly. "Yeah. You're the last airbender. I… I'm sorry. For not being more gentle. But it looks like my bet was right." "Bet?" He smiled down and rubbed her head. "I gambled that I could contain anything you did. We're in a pretty thick shell of solid rock. Nobody got hurt." A breath she didn't know she was holding blew onto his chest, making him shiver. "Thank you. Will you teach me earthbending?" He hummed for a bit, debating in his head. 'I'm already here for a few days, and I'll have free time.' "Sure. I'll be leaving in a few days, but I'll do my best."

August 8th, 7:00 AM

Kyoshi Island

Jacob stared out onto the horizon, waves batting against the cliff under his feet. He scanned it for the black speck he'd been anticipating the entire time, or for a plume of smoke that he knew would signal the arrival of the same. Every day after his exercises he did this, keeping vigil for a single hour. And every day, he saw nothing. Today was going to be different, it seemed, as his eyes focused in on something half a mile away. 'Is he finally here? Took you long enough. Let's get started, then. At that speed, he'll make it here in just under an hour. With any luck, I can take the whole boat down in one shot.' He started to bend a massive pillar of earth up from the ground underneath him, thirty feet wide and growing up rapidly. "Hey, what are you doing, sensei?" He whirled around, to see Aya standing behind him, staff in hand. "I think that's my question. It's too early for you to be up, go back to sleep." She hopped up next to him, the pillar still raising. "I can't, I had a nightmare. Hey, what's that?" She was pointing right at the black speck, now noticeably larger and spewing smoke. "No way! He followed us all the way here?!" He grunted as the pillar started to accelerate further. "Who followed you here in a fire nation warship? Something you forgot to mention?" 'I'd like to get at least some confirmation that he's still the same.' "Some crazy firebender guy. I thought we lost him at the South Pole!" Jacob chuckled. 'The same.'

"So he's an enemy? Good, I was worried this was all for nothing. I was just going to jump, but you being here simplifies things a little." They were now well over a hundred feet in the air, and still climbing. "When I tell you to, blast me off this tower towards that ship. Can you handle that?" She nodded, worry on her face. "Why?" He scratched the back of his head. "Well, the higher I am, the more damage I'll do coming down. If I do it right, I think I can sink the whole ship with one blow." Aya frowned. "But all those people… they're going to die." He shook his head. "Not unless they're terrible swimmers. Even then, there's plenty of ballast for them to float to shore with." He looked down at the ground below, now at least three hundred feet away. "It's going to be another forty minutes before they get here. What do you say to one final lesson?" She raised an eyebrow, frown still glued on her face. "Final lesson? You're leaving?" He rolled his shoulders, getting loud cracks out of them. "Yeah. It's been fun, but my vacation has lasted long enough, and I have my own destiny to fulfill. Nothing as grand as saving the whole world, but it's important to me."

He took his sword, drew an X in the rock, and sat down on top of it. "Alright. Now move me off of this mark. This is the last thing I can teach you." "You're going to fall off this pillar." He nodded. "Maybe. That's fine, I can climb my way back up in time." She took a deep breath. Her chest seemed to expand as she drew more and more air in. Her exhale nearly blew him away, before he jabbed his sword into the pillar and held on with a single hand. "Nice try, but it's not going to be that easy." She groaned. "Can't you just move?" He shrugged. "Sure. I can move any time I want." Something sparked in her eye, and a devilish grin spread on her face. "I know!" She hopped off the tower and down to the ground below. His head fell forward. 'And there goes my lesson about solving problems peacefully. Clearly she got the wrong idea, but I'll wait and see what she comes up with.' Five minutes later, Aya hopped back up with her hands behind her back, wearing the same grin. "What's your genius idea to get me to move?" She started to bring her hands around forward, then unceremoniously fell on her face. He blinked once as something crawled out of her hands. A small spear of rock shot up to stab it without even grazing her clothes. 'A scorpion?! Shit!' He bolted over and put a hand on her neck. "Strong pulse, even breathing. I've been duped." She sat right up and grinned. "Gotcha! You moved off the…" the lack of mark where he had been sitting was painfully obvious, and it was Jacob's turn to grin. "What are you talking about? It's still right under me."

He pulled her back into him, cradling her in his arms. "Don't scare me like that, Aya. I have to admit, though, the fake sting mark on your hand was a great touch." Her eyes widened and she whipped her hands up, turning them over. His light chuckle made her head droop in defeat. "What did you say earlier? "Gotcha?" Well, you're a few years too early to pull the wool over my eyes, and you don't have the physical strength to move me. So what other options are left? There is a way to get me to move off this mark, I promise. I don't do stupid tests with no right answer." She leaned back into him and looked into his eyes, trying to look as cute as possible. "Sensei, could you please move?" He smirked. "There we go. Anything for my student." He ruffled her hair and sent the mark off to the right. "Sometimes, being polite and kind gets you places that no amount of force can. If you only learn one thing from me, that's what I want you to take away. You're the Avatar, after all. It's your sacred duty to resolve the conflicts of this world as peacefully as you can. Just remember, never be afraid to use force if you have to." He unfolded his legs, letting her drop onto the stone, and grabbed his sword. "It's almost time. I weigh a lot more than you think, so give it all you've got." He stanced up, sword held at an angle in front of him as Aya sucked in air behind him. 'This is crazy. No, that doesn't quite describe it. This idea… it's absolutely insane. But it's this, or risk other people in combat. And if I can make this bloodless, or at the very least keep the casualties to one side, it's worth trying.' "Now. See you later, Aya. Give Suki my best." He hopped up a few inches and let the gust of wind carry him.
