CHAPTER THREE

Negative Energy

"Sweetie, you ok?" Vanessa whispered softly as she felt Celeste's neck, catching the light hint of a temperature beginning to spike. "You've got a temperature and you look like you're burning up?"
"Nessie, I'm so tired." Celeste whimpered as her grip on Darien's shirt tightened.
"Tyler?" Darien asked as he looked at his sister.
"You'd be the same Darien?" Vanessa stated with a roll of her eyes as she looked at her exhausted and pregnant sister-in-law. "This looks like it might be something else entirely?"
"Come on, Angel." Darien sighed, shaking his head at his concerned sister as he pulled Celeste up from the floor and into his arms. "Let's get you into bed so you can rest for a bit."

Celeste yawned and gripped onto Darien's shirt collar as he lifted her up into his arms. Celeste whimpered as her body jolted, her one concern mainly focusing on the unborn child that rested in her womb, aches and pains running through her body. Sienna bit her lip as she ran out of the room and up the stairs as Darien followed behind her with his precious bundle as she struggled to remain awake through the exhaustion running through her veins. Abigail and Shana looked at each other knowing Sienna had run ahead to the room and Darien was taking his precious bride upstairs to rest through the noise levels and disaster as Abigail glared at the three Senshi.

"Abby, I'm going to call Jonathan and Alex to let them know." Shana stated as she bit her lower lip at the state of her eldest daughter. "It's better if they work from home if Celeste needs something from the pharmacy or the medical centre at such short notice."
"Go on Shana." Abigail muttered as she locked gazes with her best friend and the mother of her daughter-in-law.
"You going to be ok with?" Shana asked as she nodded over her shoulder.
"I'll be here Auntie." Vanessa murmured softly as she looked at her irritated mother, nodding across to Shana. "I'll call the hospital and ask them to send a medical nurse over after you've called dad and uncle. Hopefully they can make their way home shortly."

About an hour later, Vanessa and Sienna stepped into the main room following the nurse who had checked on Celeste. As the nurse packed the last of her things and began to head out, Sienna nodded at the nurse's words turning on her heel and walking back up the stairs. Fleshing her phone out of her pocket, she held it to her ear and made her way up the stairs to her room as she spoke to the person on the other end of the line, as Vanessa smiled and nodded her head in agreement.

It would be Drake she was calling.

Abigail cursed softly as Jonathan walked the medical nurse out and nodded softly, as he returned to the middle of the room after closing the front door shut behind him. Her husband, Alex, held Shana in his arms and tried to comfort her in the wake of the news that there was nothing the nurse could see that would cause Celeste's or Tyler's exhaustion as Jonathan returned and sat on his wife's other side, pulling her into his arms in the wake of the news. Abigail looked across at the three Senshi that her daughter in-law had called over and caught the grin on Rei's face as an angry scowl covered her face.

"Excuse me?" A squeak escaped from the so-called genius of the Senshi team, as Abigail looked up with a frown, looking over her shoulder at the blue haired girl. "Would I be able to scan Lady Celeste? Possibly see why she's so tired?"
"Ab?" Alex hissed in warning as he, Shana and Jonathan looked up.
"That is my son's decision whether he'd let you near her or not, little Mercury." Abigail snapped as her eyes narrowed in warning at the three girls. "I doubt he would let you harm a hair on her head since they both know what you three are capable of?"
"Let her in, mother." Her son's voice echoed from the door from behind her. "I'd like to see the results if I may."

Abigail and Alex looked up in shock as Darien stepped into the room, exhaustion clear in his eyes as he looked over his shoulders. At the top of the stairs, Sienna stood with a frown on her face, the mobile device clutched tightly in her pale grip, her eyes lighting up with the power that fluttered through her veins. Jonathan and Shana smiled softly seeing the unnoticeable anger that was in their daughter's figure, even as she remained hidden in the shadows at the top of the stairs. Their son-in-law was exhausted, jetlag no doubt, but the fright of nearly losing his wife, son and unborn child to an unknown illness was keeping him standing as Darien's eyes flashed gold very briefly as he looked at his mother.

About ten minutes later, Darien growled at the results that had come from Ami as Celeste looked up weakly from her position on the bed. Due to her excessive sweating over the past hour, she had placed under the covers of the bed wearing a nightgown that barely covered what she needed it to as Darien took a seat next to her. Celeste looked up softly, a jolt running through her veins as she felt her mate's Crystal run through her as he ran his fingers through her white-blonde hair.

"Negative energy?" Darien asked with a growl as he glared at Ami from his wife's bedside. "Is that what made Celeste and my son sick? Is that why they're on both on bed rest and unable to move?"
"Celeste is a Lunar, Darien." Ami squeaked as she looked at the readings on the Mercury computer in front of her, noticing her hands shaking in the wake of his anger. "She needs the Moon and its energy more than she needs Earth at this point. If she stays on -?"
"Out of the question!" Darien barked as a golden tint filled his eyes, causing Ami to take a step back in shock. "My son is half Lunar and half Terran, her siblings are either full Lunar or full Solar so why aren't they affected?"
"But Darien, it's safe for her to do so." Ami stated, looking at the door as his mother stepped into the room. "Mrs?"
"I think you've done enough for today, Mercury." He heard his mother hiss at Ami and smiled internally, as he placed a kiss on Celeste's forehead and caught her bright blue eyes staring back at him. "All of you will be taken to the hotel and you are to stay there until we arrange something to bring you back or send you three on the next flight back to Tokyo."

The growl in his mother's voice was clear, she was not happy by the three Senshi putting her son and daughter-in-law at risk just because one of them wanted her son. She was aware what each woman wanted, knowing her daughter-in-law was strong enough to shoot them down in public but none could give her son what Celeste could, even at Tyler's birth, it was love and loving with the full heart and soul.

Ami bent her head and stepped out of the room as Darien moved onto the bed to pull his exhausted wife into his arms. Abigail Chiba Shields looked at the couple entwined on the bed before she stepped out of the room and scowled in anger, closing the door behind her with a small click. Ami tried to open her mouth to speak her thoughts, but Abigail spun on her heels and let her brown eyes flash in anger as she walked forward to grip Ami by her collar. Darien had nodded softly as he watched his mother leave the room, before a chuckle escaped his lips and looked down at his scowling wife.

"Are you going to speak in front of my son's room, little girl?" She asked Ami with anger fluttering through brown eyes, as they narrowed in warning. "Separate my son and daughter-in-law because your friend feels like they're a good match?"
"She's contagious and he will catch it eventually." Ami squeaked softly, an audible gulp echoing through the hallway.
"Contagious? You stupid little girl." Abigail asked in shock, her eyes glaring as she threw Ami to the floor. "Her Crystal is trying to fight off Beryl's negativity whilst trying to keep her unborn child and her son safe. You and your friends have done nothing but cause her pain and exhaustion, so much so that she's had to call the fight here to her home."
"But?" Ami asked as she struggled to stand, having landed on her shoulder. "Him and Rei would be?"
"Good? A fantastic couple?" His mother snarled causing Ami to take a step back.

Ami blushed softly as she begun to hear incomprehensible noise from the room she just left, struggling to stand from where she was thrown to the floor. His mother, looking over her shoulder, at the closed bedroom door chuckled as she caught the barely identifiable noise and realised what her son and daughter-in-law were doing in private as she turned her gaze and looked back at Ami. As Ami stood back to her feet, brushing the lint off her clothes, she scowled in warning watching as Ami blushed deeper.

"If my son and your friend were so close and such a great couple, explain that to me?" Abigail asked softly as she turned on her heel and began walking down the long hallway, motioning at the noise coming from her son's room. "He wouldn't be screwing his wife in their room if he loved your friend and meant more to him than his own wife. Marriage vows mean the world to my son, I suggest you would do well to remember that in the wake of her pregnancy."
"But?" Ami stood looking shell shocked at the closed door.
"Go home, little Mercury." Abigail stated as she disappeared into her room. "You and your friends aren't needed here."

The noise from the room next to her started to go louder causing Ami to let out a small squeak and blush as she ran down the hallway to get back to her friends. Her cheeks were still red as she met up with her friends as they got into the small yellow taxi after they had been escorted to the gates at the front of the property. The trio had upset Abigail and the entire Chiba-Shields family, yet they were still acting like everything was normal before they were escorted out.

Inside the room, the couple were entwined under the blanket as the red flush began to disappear from Celeste's cheeks and her breathing was brought back under control as she was given a power and strength boost from the Golden Crystal. Celeste curled up next to him, a hand resting on his chest as the Golden Crystal disappeared from view until it was time for it to be revealed as Darien placed a kiss on the top of her head as they rested back on the bed. Her wedding and engagement rings sparkled softly as she yawned and drifted off to sleep in his arms, Darien bending down to place a soft kiss in the crown of her head as he ran a hand down her back, looking out to the balcony windows which showed the approaching darkness.
