The next morning, Link completely surprised Amaterasu.

"I need to check on my horse Epona." Link declared, looking worried.

"You can't go out there all by yourself!" Amaterasu cried.

"I don't expect any problems-"

"What if the demons attack you? I don't want to lose you too!"

Link held his face with his paw.

Issun let out a laugh and shook his head. He was relaxing in Amaterasu's fur today.

"You know, sometimes you two act so attached. If I didn't know any better, you two could be joined by the hip!" Issun teases the two love struck wolves.

"Get on your way." Amaterasu says with a giggle.

"Bye Ammy...I love you..." Link coos as he leaves.

"Bye Ammy-San! I love you so." Issun mocks.

"Shut up!"

...

Link went close to the forest of Ordona Province, which consists of Ordon Village, Ordon Ranch, and the Ordon Woods. It is connected by a bridge to the Faron Woods of the Faron Province, located just north of the Ordon Woods.

Soon Link realized there was an itch in his fur.

He sat annoyed.

"Issun..." Link moaned. "Why didn't you stay with Amaterasu?!"

"What? I thought you'd be fine!"

"I assumed she would be fine! This is Ordon province. I can find my own way back!"

Issun poked him with his stick.

"Oh I do declare. Amaterasu whined and whined until I offered to go." Issun sounded seriously

.

"You never give her the respect she deserves, you know?"

Issun soon appeared from his head fur and walked upon Link's nose.

For the longest time, Link hadn't seen Issun this close before. He saw Issun wore a large Hat, and wielded a sword and a brush, probably the stick he pokes Link with.

"I'll have you know... Amaterasu gets more than enough respect…. . Maybe it's good she gets a friend who sees her more than a goddess... Don't you agree?" Issun questions with a smirk.

"Yeah..." Link says, not answering.

"I thought so. Oh well, we're here."

They stop before opening.

"So you can see my home."

Ordon Village was a small village with just a few houses, and one solid ranch foundation. Up ahead of Link and Issun was a hot spring right before the Village.

Link smiled at Issun.

"What do you think?" Link asked with a friendly tone.

"About what?" Issun says, not entirely sure what Link is referring to.

"The village!"

"Oh, that. I think it's a nice place."

Link soon saw a flower. He remembered a song suddenly. He smiled at Issun.

"I have to howl for Epona..." Link told.

...

Waiting at camp was Amaterasu. She was in a happy mood. She was loving the wolf of her dreams.

She touched her arm, remembering how this wolf touched her with love.

She however wanted to do something. Anything for Link for all the troubles he had to endure because of her.

She looked down, remembering who she actually was.

She was Amaterasu the sun goddess. She was a cloud like white wolf who was going to go back to her task of bringing forth the sun.

She grew worried. She knew when Akuma was defeated, Amaterasu would not be needed here.

She would have to go back...

But no, she swore to keep watch over things. Because this is what she had come here for.

SNAP!

A sudden noise scared her. She turned but was faced with a wall of bushes and trees.

She felt her mind go blank when something came rolling out of the bushes.

It was one of the light orbs.

Amaterasu touched it to see if it was real.

It just rolled back and then forth.

Again, she froze in utter confusion.

A light orb…? Here?!

Amaterasu slowly touched it, and she pulled out the Light Vessel branch.

She tried this very suspicious orb, and it attached.

It grew as if they had achieved a light orb and completed an important task.

Amaterasu froze.

What just happened?

Had a light orb truly just rolled right to her?

She stared at this branch, more confused then she had ever been.

Amaterasu now grew paranoid. She stood fast and rushed through the bushes.

There was no one. She did not understand where this orb had come from.

This scared her.

Amaterasu soon stared at the branch.

She tried to think positive. They now had four Light orbs. They had only one more to go.

She should be happy.

... But why wasn't she?

She soon could hear Link and Issun in the distance.

She grew tense.

They were heading toward her...

She didn't trust this orb...

She ran to meet them.

Amaterasu dashed out of the bushes. Link saw Amaterasu come up fast. Link had a wide smile for Amaterasu was okay, but he soon lost his smile when he saw Amaterasu's expression.

"What's up Ammy?" Link asked with a hint of concern.

"The orb just rolled to me."

"What do you mean?"

"It just rolled right to me!"

"Like a ball on a string?"

"Yes!" Issun and Link soon leaned in as Amaterasu raised the Light orb branch so they could see she was speaking the truth.

When Link saw it, his heart dropped.

He was running out of time.

Soon they had to face their fate.

When Link felt the courage to look up at Amaterasu, he saw the same expression he felt. She did not like this either.

"Well we got four orbs!" Issun tried to sound positive, but he felt their feelings. "... But we're not happy about this are we..."

Amaterasu lowered the orb branch, not wanting to hurt his feelings.

"I...I guess not."

"Are you okay Amaterasu?" Link asked, worried. Amaterasu sighed.

"... What if... We can't prevent me from leaving...?" Amaterasu had to ask. She felt tears from just stating her fears.

"I don't want you to leave."

"What are you going to do?"

"I'm going to stop this..."

Amaterasu stomped her paw in frustration.

"And just HOW are you going to do that?" Link felt he had no true answer. He looked down.

".. I... I don't know." He answered his own fear. In the past this wouldn't have stopped him. Amaterasu would have had an answer. As it was, she no longer could.

All three of them didn't say a word. They wanted an answer to appear.

They wanted this to be over and all three of them happy.

They did not know their hopes were about to crash.

"... Link... Amaterasu..." A dark and very familiar voice boomed in the sky.

Amaterasu and Link looked up, feeling pure fear.

It was Akuma speaking with his own power.

"Meet me at the prison in the desert. I have the final orb... See you soon~!" Akuma cockily invited.

Link and Amaterasu soon turned to each other and gazed their eyes into each other.

They felt worried.

Akuma knew they had the orbs.

He was baiting them into a battle.

".. No... " Link accidentally mouthed.

Amaterasu felt the same way.

Even Issun felt the same way.

Amaterasu lowered her head.

"Am I not the one supposed to stop this?" Amaterasu asked. Her voice echoed in the air as she had great distress.

Link felt her pain.

Soon she couldn't stop her tears and she was crying.

"... If I don't go finish this, Hyrule will die... If I don't go..." Amaterasu couldn't finish her words.

Link watched her cry and it filled him with hurt.

His sadness grew.

His anger was rekindled.

Link frowned and slightly growled.

Link soon stepped up to Amaterasu.

This made her feel startled as she backed up in her tears.

She hadn't seen Link so angry.

"I will protect you..." Link declared boldly.

Amaterasu felt her fur slowly relax. She felt her tears stop.

In that moment Amaterasu let her worries drop, and her love took her. She hugged Link.

She was in his paws now . Whatever he did….

…. She would follow.

...

The sun was beginning to set.

The demon's cry could be heard from a distance. They all heard it. Out in the desert were two wolves walking in the shifting sands.

When the wind slowed in a clearing, Amaterasu and Link both saw what were ahead of them.

It was an entire army of Twilight beings, and behind them was the prison where Akuma was.

"There's no way we can fight this many..." Amaterasu murmured.

"We can't let this happen..." Issun mouthed.

They looked at each other, and once again there was silence. Link looked down.

"We have to do something." Link mumbled.

They looked at the army once more. They couldn't just do it alone.

Could they?

"No matter what you do, don't let Akuma get the Light orbs..." Issun informed. The wolves nodded.

The entire day, they stayed by a cliffside and watched the Twilight army.

They had to find a way to get inside.

Wolf Link was drawing in the sand.

"If we attack head on, we're screwed. Somehow we have to make the forces weaker. We'll have to use guerilla warfare." Wolf Link said.

"What's that?" Amaterasu asked. She was confused. Wolf Link looks at Amaterasu in thought.

"Where we attack them in a surprise attack, or find a way to get inside without a battle." Wolf Link explained.

It was a good idea, but how would they even go about doing it?

Wolf Link looked around. Wolf Link sadly hated how the sun made it hard to see the army.

It was then he blinked.

"I got an idea." Wolf Link mumbled. He looked at Amaterasu.

"What if you use your reflector and try to blind all of them?" Wolf Link asked with hope.

Amaterasu brightened at the thought.

However she lost her smile. It just meant they were one step closer to their fears and fate.

"But that means..." She started to say.

"We're all in this together." Wolf Link finished for her. Amaterasu nodded.

She was still worried about getting to the orb.

But she was in Link's paws.

The army was in silence as they waited for anything to make them interested.

However they all did look up when they saw a bright flame.

"GGGGRRRRRRAWWWHH!" Amaterasu cried as she used a lot of her power to make a huge flame.

"URGH!" The Twilight beings were all hurting as the bright fire flashed a great light.

Wolf Link and Issun in his fur dashed.

They ran hard to get passed the demons before they noticed them.

Issun snarled.

"I told you not to let them see you..." He hissed.

"Shut up." He hissed as he saw one of the Twilight beings try to catch Link.

Link managed to get passed the army, however right when they turned the corner deeper in the fortress, at the entrance where there was one final turn into the prison itself, was two larger Twilight demons.

Wolf Link skidded to a halt as one of the beings tried to slash him.

Right when claw smashed into the ground, Link jumped backwards to dodge.

Soon both demons were slashing hard and face, trying to kill Link.

"Woah-" Issun cried as he dodged one after another. "-Watch it!"

"No-" Link soon kicked off the wall and head butted one. "-DUH!"

The head butt hit hard and it sent it backwards.

"Watch OUT!" Issun cried as the other swung down.

Link was slapped into the ground, losing his breath.

Both demons was soon upon him.

Link went to get up but he knew he was about to get caught.

However, a huge flash of fire exploded in their faces.

Link looked up, and Amaterasu was in the air after the impact sent them recoiling, and Amaterasu was slashing hard with her ink.

She smacked the first one before flipping into a long cut towards the other.

Both demons exploded into darkness.

"Amaterasu!" Wolf Link exclaimed as the wolf goddess descended to the ground.

"What happened?" She asked, panting.

"Twilight demons are not fond of fire." Link and Amaterasu soon slow down.

They felt they were coming into the main chamber.

They both slow at the entrance.

As they peered in they saw Akuma with his back turned to them.

"Ah... So you two have finally arrived." Akuma announced in a tone as he seemed to be holding something.

Both Amaterasu and Link walk in slowly.

Link stepped forward.

"This ends now Akuma!" Link declared with courage.

However Akuma turned with a chuckle.

"... Heh... Heh... Heh..." As he turned, Amaterasu and Link froze when they saw what was in his hand.

It was the Light Orb.

"So it does..." Akuma agreed. He slowly eyed the Orb with a smile.

Amaterasu stepped up.

"End this Akuma. Give us the orb." Amaterasu demanded bravely.

However Link lost his frown when Akuma merely rose his hand.

"Sure." Akuma soon grinned with a giggled hiss. "Take IT!"

Amaterasu and Link both didn't move.

Akuma tilted his head.

"No...?" Akuma laughed.

Amaterasu stepped one step forward.

"Is this a trick?" Amaterasu asked unsure of Akuma's true intentions. Akuma held up his orb with a smug shrug.

"I have been bested by yours truly. No matter what demon I throw at you..." Akuma eyed them with a grin that shown no defeat. "... You would win."

Again Amaterasu and Link did not move. They knew now what Akuma wanted.

"Again?" Akuma smiled and brought the orb to his side. "I'll make it easier."

Akuma eyed them both with a evil grin.

"Hyrule is going to die if you do not do your mission."

Link sighed. Link stepped up.

"Amaterasu wants to stay with me." Link tried. Akuma laughed under his fist as if he knew Link wanted to say that.

"You fool, you act like Amaterasu has a choice!" Akuma taunted. Link looked at Amaterasu in worry as Akuma continued. "Both Amaterasu and I are just underlings to the main order Link... You think the main gods and goddesses are going to allow Amaterasu to be with a mere human?!"

Link froze as Amaterasu stepped up.

"Wolf!" Amaterasu shot out for she did not know the truth, but Link felt his body shake.

Akuma soon wagged his finger with a fake smile.

"Oh poor Amaterasu..." Akuma looked up with a smile but kept his eyes on them. "... Link is merely a human affected by Twilight."

Everything fell silent.

Amaterasu turned to Link with widen eyes. Link just stared at the ground.

"... Is... Is this true Link...? " Amaterasu asked, completely stunned.

Link sighed and slowly looked at Amaterasu.

"I'm... Sorry.." Link looked down, more defeated then Amaterasu had ever seen Link.

Amaterasu folded her ears.

She actually felt sorry for Link.

In this moment of grief and guilt, they did not see Akuma stepped up behind Amaterasu with the orb.

"Let the show begin!" Akuma shouts as he shoves the orb into the branch with a flash.

Link stepped up scared.

"No DON'T!"

Both it was too late. A light flashed as the branch floated away from Amaterasu.

Link went to stop this, to save any time he could with Amaterasu, but soon he floated as he felt a sensation of light filling his being.

"No..." Link mumbled as he was transforming back.

Amaterasu stepped forward, but suddenly Akuma caught her neck and held her.

"Shh... Don't you want to see Link's true form?"

Soon the entire planet was being saved as Twilight was disappearing.

Everything seemed to stop. The orb, Akuma, the twirling branch, the sounds.

In the silence, you hear Amaterasu

whimpering.

Link landed in his green tunic. Link was human with his long blonde hair and nothing but his clothing.

Link slowly stood and looked at his gloves.

Link felt sad, and did not want to see Amaterasu's expression.

Link did not want this. He had to fix this.

"No... I... I can do this..." He said to himself as he tried to figure out the best way to do this. He clenched his gloves. He turned to Amaterasu. He was alright with her curiosity. She looked only confused. "I lied to you... I'm sorry."

However Link bent his knee as he stared into her eyes.

"I do... Still love you..." Link declared his love in his own panic.

In a moment, she stared into his eyes.

His warm soft eyes she was used too. It still burnt with his love.

And she knew it was okay.

Amaterasu gave him a weak smile.

"I knew you felt something..." She said.

"I..." He paused, searching for the right

words. However Akuma smiled.

"Love is a powerful blessing."

Akuma then snapped. Suddenly something dark formed under Link.

Suddenly shadow hands appeared and grabbed Link's arms and shoulder.

"And a horrible curse!"

As he was already on his knees he had no choice and couldn't fight. Link swung his shoulder off a shadow hand, but three more grabbed him. The hands started to pull Link down.

"LINK-" Amaterasu cried but then Akuma floated with Amaterasu. Akuma pulled her with his strength holding her skin.

Amaterasu looked up and soon saw a flash of light.

The entrance to the sacred realm…..

… Her home...

Link ripped off a few shadow hands and reached up.

"NO AMATERASU!" Link cried desperately as he started to be engulfed in the darkness.

He did not want to lose her! Not like this…

Amaterasu reached out in her own bark.

"LINKKK!" Amaterasu cried her heart out as Akuma still held her, pulling her tight.

"AMMY!" Link cried again as his arms and head was the only thing left. A shadow hand grabbed his face.

"L-Link..." Amaterasu mumbled as tears fell.

She soon disappeared in the light.

She was soon gone with one final flash, and Link was left alone.

Link gave up. He can't do this.

He let all the hands grab him and he was gone as he had was shallowed by darkness.

The prison was left empty.

Hopeless. Despairing.
