AN: Please note I am not making Harry or the Patil girls overpowered here these were just things I thought they should know about before they go to school for safety reasons. Harry will need to properly study and relearn everything once at school even if he will know how some of it works from last time round.
The more Harry thought about things the more he wanted both Parvati and Padma to know the Patronus Charm before going to school. The thing was how could he convince Sirius and their father that it was necessary? He decided to use his knowledge of the fact that were his deepest fear to be the reason he needed to learn it and he would say he would feel safer if they could learn with him. Harish agreed to meet him at Sirius' house for an emergency meeting concerned there might be something wrong with the contract. He'd already told Padma about it though. Did Harry now want to rescind his offer? He nervously exited the floo stunned to see that Sirius was just as clueless as he was and Harry was the one who looked nervous.
"Welcome Harish. I have asked you here to ask you for a favour. When we signed the contract if you'll remember you asked me what my greatest fear was and I said it was a dementor or even a boggart which can turn into a dementor. I know I didn't mention the boggart then but I've since read about them and I while looking into dementors trying to understand why I fear them the most I came upon the patronus charm and I'd like Padma and Parvati to learn it with me with your permission of course! I'd just feel safer if I knew it and so did they. Logically I can't always be by her side and her not being protected would scare me. Sirius I hope you're ok with it?" he said sounding a little bit hyper with nerves as Harish much to his shock visibly relaxed. Clearly whatever he'd thought Harry might say he had not and then it occurred to Harry that Harish might have thought he wanted out. He did feel silly about that and blushed. Sirius in all honesty looked delighted and relieved himself.
"Pup I could never resent you for thinking of the safety of others. I know you're addicted to reading so it doesn't surprise me you'd look up ways to combat your fear. If Harish is amenable I'd be more than ok with it!" he said hugging Harry close for a moment and kissing his forehead. He was full of pride right now. Lily would have thought just like him about not only herself but others as well. James also would have thought of others but he'd have thought solely of himself first. He'd have to be told to think of others before he would ever willingly do that something mature Sirius didn't like but immature Sirius had never seen. Harish watched the almost father and son with a huge smile on his face.
"Harry the fact that you think so logically about everything and are obviously as obsessed with reading as Padma is amazing. Thank you so much for thinking of this and Sirius is right your mother would have been so very proud of you. Now we have a few weeks before we return to school and I would personally like to teach you. I will get Padma here right away and we can begin practicing. Parvati is away in Italy at the moment with her mother visiting the Zabini family there so it will be just the three of us. I will teach Parvati separately myself if she wishes to learn it. Raj! Yes bring Padma to me please!" he asked the well-dressed house elf who had appeared when called who nodded once and came back with Padma who looked at Harry for a moment and blushed when it suddenly became obvious that something within her had solidified as she seemed to suddenly stand taller and her blush diminished somewhat as she looked him in the eye.
"Hello Mr Potter, Harry, I am Miss Patil or Padma if you like. Hello Mr Black you have a beautiful home. Hello father you asked to see me is everything alright?" she addressed politely as Sirius reeled slightly.
"Well Miss Patil Mr Black was my father so please call me Sirius. You are welcome here any time. As Harry is like a son to me I expect you to take good care of him and if you don't mind advising me from time to time on home furnishings as when I need that advice. I don't have a wife myself so in the future I may need that advice I am not sure. Welcome to the family!" he enthused hugging a stunned Padma.
"Thank you Sirius. I would be delighted although your home really does look lovely for now" she said as Harish smiled brightly at her.
"Hello Miss Patil, Padma it is wonderful to finally meet you and may I say you are looking radiant today!" Harry said as she blushed and gave him her hand which he took pressing his lips gently to her knuckles. Even Sirius seemed surprised by that. He knew it was the polite thing to do though so he didn't understand all the awe that he'd done it right.
"Welcome Padma. I have asked you here because I will be teaching you a special spell which Harry found to help him combat his biggest fear Dementors. I will teach Parvati later on should she wish to learn but know this I will not force her and neither must you. This is a decision she must come to on her own as this is a strong spell!" he said as she regarded him seriously for a moment. Then she smiled.
"You're fear is very wise Mr Potter. I myself fear huge snakes such as basilisks. I know they do not exist but my fear of them is very real. You may call me Padma if you wish!" she said bowing slightly before him.
"And you may call me Harry Padma. Thank you!" he said as they seemed to remember there were adults in the room and they were being watched and both blushed. Harish moved them into a smaller and more intimate room moving all furniture to one side with a wave of his hand. Sirius entered sitting on an armchair in the corner to watch this lesson. He was interested to see how it would go.
"Ok great now get your wands out please. The incantation for this charm is Expecto Patronum and it doesn't have any specific wand movements. Now for some reason better known to them everyone always seems to make learning this spell more difficult than it needs to be. If you are diligent enough you can learn it in one session. The one and only thing which powers this spell is happiness but not just ordinary happiness either. You must think of the thing in this world which makes you the happiest and allow that feeling of pure happiness to fill you to core!" he instructed as Harry visibly reeled a bit. ONE LESSON! One fucking lesson! He'd had months of lessons with Remus before he got it when it had only needed to take one. He was furious about that. All that wasted time. At least now he would know it better and faster. Harish had Padma try it first and nothing happened. He then had Harry try and yet again Harry had to work to get it back again. It didn't work for him the first time either. He thought about how happy he was to be back and how delighted he was to be with Padma all the love and protectiveness he already felt for her coursing through him. When at last he achieved it four hours later he was left speechless completely.
He had thought he'd have the stag again but he hadn't. He didn't even know what it was. It was corporeal but it would also appear that Sirius didn't know what it was either. It was like a phoenix but it wasn't one bit red. In fact it was deep teal blue in colour and sparkled almost like a diamond. Harish who was in utter awe managed to pull himself together and cough to get their attention just as Padma got her own corporeal patronus. Padma's was a huge Doberman pinscher which looked exceptionally threatening making Harish gasp again.
"Ok I know what your patronus is Harry and Padma I know things about the patronus it would seem you here do not know yet. Harry your patronus is an Ice Phoenix and as we can see Padma's is a Doberman pinscher. What is not commonly taught which I did have to learn on my own is that your patronus not only protects you and delivers messages for you but it is what your animagus will be. I will show you mine now!" he said casting the spell as a huge threatening snow lynx appeared before them. When he stopped the spell he turned into his own animagus which was the same but instantly less threatening as it whined and sat down whilst Padma giggled and rubbed his ears her father moaning. Clearly she was used to this side of him. Harry thought he looked great. He turned to Sirius to ask him for the potion to become an animagus shocked to see he was no longer there. He frowned at that but smiled as he returned with said potion.
"Harish will decide if Padma may have this but you can. The hardest part of becoming an animagus is finding your animal but as you now know your animal you can take the potion at once. I wish I'd known this in my day as it would have saved us all a lot of time. Oh Harish we struggled for months!" he laughed awkwardly as Harish returned to his human form in time to see Harry vomit before Tilly instantly cleaned it up.
Harry glared but wasn't glaring long as he felt the extreme pain of his first transformation. It hurt and he screamed out which came out as a weird noise as the wings burst forth on his back and his face contorted to have the beak and eyes and everything. He glanced intensely at the vase of flowers on the table in the corner of the room stunned at they turned to ice at once freezing. He flashed from one room to the other as his body slowly but surely adjusted. He changed back still feeling some pain. He now had enhanced hearing as a consequence of his unexpected gift. He'd never truly thought about it before but now that he was an animagus he could accomplish so much more. After a while of thinking everything through Harish realised he'd like his daughter to be able to transform like him and gave her permission too. She took the potion and vomited as Tilly came and cleaned it up. Soon enough a large and very imposing Doberman pinscher was there before them all growling wildly and then lying down as Sirius rubbed her belly just right. Being a dog animagus himself he knew everything about them.
This was so cool he'd now have a friend when he transformed too. She changed back feeling very weird. Tilly was happy to see that she was alright. "Thank goodness Sirs Miss Patty is ok now. I'm Tilly and don't you worry Missy Patty I'll take very good care of you at school. What should I call you?" Tilly asked suddenly as Padma cooed at her.
"Oh what a well behaved and cute little elf you have Harry. Tilly you may call me Miss and when Harry and I are married I will think of something else ok? Thank you so much for caring for me!" she cooed as Tilly blushed under the praise. With one trip to the Patil lawyers later they were both registered as animagi in the Ministry quickly and quietly. They had their certs at the end of the day and nothing could happen to them over it. They weren't breaking any laws or anything like that Harry and Padma just didn't want the attention. It turned out Parvati didn't want to learn the Patronus charm but did wish to become an animagus. When her father told her she could not do one without the other she cried and threw a fit but did eventually agree to do it and two days later she now had a cert registering her as an animagus as well. Her form and patronus was of a Persian cat something which made Harish cackle with laughter which confused her deeply until Padma changed and made her scream. After all she did look very threatening. What a few days it had been. They were off to school tomorrow.
