Here is the next chapter of my story. Please read and review love Sag x
Harry woke up in the morning at eight am when Ron asked him if he was awake. Ron had just woken up himself. He'd been amazed he didn't hear him snoring in the night but the only conclusion he could come to was that his curtains must have been warded or charmed against the sound of snoring penetrating into his bed. You see this was the kind of courtesy Gryffindor had never had. It had never occurred to the idiot who had designed the dorms of Gryffindor that people may actually need sleep. He'd suffered so many nights before without sleep over Ron and Dean who snored up a storm. He informed Ron he was awake who in turn informed him he'd just woken up. Tilly popped in giving Ron some clean clothing from his trunk for the day and then proceeded to do the same thing for Harry. Harry had decided he wanted to get the diadem today as he could explore the school but knew he'd never get away on his own so he'd need to bring Ron with him. He had decided to lie and say his father had written about the room of requirement and how amazing it was and that he wanted to find it to feel closer to him. It was a lie but would get Ron to go with him without too many questions.
Every house point counter always contained fifty base points at the start of the year every house was then expected to expand on naturally making them grow and grow until the house cup could be awarded at the end of the academic year. As Harry and Ron got ready he smiled. Ron was really great this time thanks to the help he'd given them. The fact that Ron had told him his mother had thought they came from Merlin was lovely and something he didn't mind them to keep thinking. He'd only gotten them the luxury wool anyway so it wasn't too much. Tilly had obviously told them she'd cleaned the house for them too but only because of her allergies to it which he was fine with. They went into the bathroom and Harry was curious to see what Ron would do with himself in terms of his self-care. The last time Ron had been pretty lazy with his self-care routine claiming that as he didn't have much of anything to use there was no point in even trying. He was very different this time for sure.
Ron started off taking his face cloth from the shelf and wet it with warm water washing his face thoroughly using a male facial cleanser. Once he had washed his face he pat it dry and brushed his teeth. He then used a light moisturiser on his face something his mum had always told him girls would like. While it was actually true she had really only said it to him so he'd care more for himself. It was working too. He really did want to leave the best impression he could. He dabbed a light bit of perfume on his wrists and neck which actually smelled nice. It was like a light spice. The last thing he did was to lightly brush his hair. Harry's routine was much the same except he exfoliated his face before cleansing it with toner. As they left their room they headed down to the common room where Padma and Susan were waiting for them.
"You smell very nice! Good morning!" Susan said to Ron who blushed deeply and thanked her. They went down to breakfast stunned that as they entered the great hall the Gryffindor house point counter was totally empty. What the hell was going on? As he entered those actually sitting at the Gryffindor table turned glaring at him so hard he imagined he'd have been dead if looks could truly kill. He was very confused indeed. Why were they so annoyed? Some of them stood with their wands pointed at him ready for an attack which Dumbledore saw as he entered the great hall himself at that moment and walked down to them.
"Mr Potter stop causing trouble and threatening the Gryffindors and get to your seat now. I will not have you causing problems for them!" he snapped as Harry rounded on him looking highly bewildered.
"But sir, why are they threatening me? I only came here to eat some breakfast. I've just come in and I don't know what is going on!" he said making himself sound panicked. Before Dumbledore could respond however the Gryffindors beside him did.
"It's your fault we have no points Potter! You just had to think you were too good for us didn't you? When we all know you belong here like your parents! It's unnatural that you're not here! Who told you not to come to us? WELL WHP WAS IT!?" they screamed alarming Dumbledore who had obviously gotten it wrong which he only now seemed to realise.
"Mr Lynch you will lower your wand now before I do it for you. Mr Potters sorting was the same as everyone elses. He cannot decide where he goes as the sorting hat must do that for him. Do not undermine the decision of the sorting hat. Yes it's highly abnormal for him to not be in the same house as his parents but as they didn't raise him it is understandable that he wouldn't end up there. Twenty points from Gryffindor for reckless behaviour and one detention with me tonight at eight. Would you care to go for the two nights Mr Lynch? I cannot believe my old house would be so reckless. To say I'm stunned would be an understatement!" he snapped sounding as though someone had told him he was never allowed to wear gaudy robes ever again. The stunned student sat down looking highly put out. The whole house still glared at Harry and the headmaster which alarmed him. He couldn't believe the hatred he was seeing in their eyes. They truly did blame him for their own point loss. It made no sense.
Harry and co made it to their table but weren't there long before Professor Flitwick descended on them looking serious.
"Mr Potter please explain what happened as I didn't see it but it looked serious!" he asked carefully.
"The whole of Gryffindor house essentially blames me for not being in their house and for the massive house loss points they suffered. Someone headmaster Dumbledore called Mr Lynch wanted to curse me for not being in their house like my parents. I don't understand the logic of doing such a thing. I mean you're here as well as the rest of the staff did he really think he'd get away with it?" he asked in confusion as Filius sighed.
"I thought so. Last night the whole of Gryffindor house was completely trashed by the Gryffindors themselves. It would seem they did not take you not being a member well. Professor McGonagall is absolutely furious. All of the couches and beds needed to be replaced as magical fire was used by some few people who could not control it and spread all throughout the house. I had to help to put it out last night. All the students slept here in the hall last night. Please all of you be careful as I wouldn't you getting hurt because they cannot stand they are responsible for their own actions!" he said smartly as Harry was stunned. The only people who looked like they hated that it had happened at all were the Weasleys. Fred and George approached him to apologise for the actions of their house stating they didn't agree with them at all.
"Five points each boy's for showing true bravery in a difficult situation. It takes courage to admit that others were wrong and you are not proud of it. Well done boys!" Filius said making them beam.
"Well it's true sir. Our house was crazy and right out of order last night. We are very sad Harry was not a member but that's only because it would be so cool to have him as a member!" they said as he smiled at them. They were good boys really. He'd be writing to their mother about them as she deserved to know how wonderful her boys were. He left the all at once to write the letter he would need to send to her. Elsewhere Molly was in her kitchen serving Arthur and Ginny their breakfast when an unknown Hogwarts owl arrived with her for a letter. It really confused her. Surely her children couldn't be in trouble already they'd only been there a night. Even Arthur looked concerned. Arthur took the letter and opened it reading it first as Molly had told him to.
Dear Mrs Weasley,
My name is Professor Filius Flitwick and I thought it important to write to you concerning your sons Frederick and George Weasley. Last night at the sorting ceremony your son Ronald Weasley and Harry Potter were sorted into Ravenclaw the house of which I am the head. When Mr Harry Potter did not go into Gryffindor as expected by many others the Gryffindor students did not take this information well. In fact they took it so badly that last night the whole house was trashed by angry members. All the beds and couches were ruined as some students used a magical fire they couldn't control which spread everywhere. They lost all of their house points.
This morning when Mr Harry Potter came to breakfast with your son they attempted to harm him by cursing him but headmaster Dumbledore managed to stop them before they could. All of Gryffindor house spent the night in the great hall while their house was fixed. Only a few students were actually harmed and even they were only harmed in a minor way thank Merlin. Your two sons Frederick and George this morning informed Mr Harry Potter of how much they disagree with what happened in their house and that they were sorry it had happened at all. This takes great courage and bravery which I did tell them when I awarded each of them five points for their bravery. As you will know speaking out against many people in defence of the few is a wonderful and brave thing. You should be most proud of your sons and I thank both yourself and Mr Weasley for raising such wonderful boys. They are a credit to you and I think you should what they did so wrote to you for this reason.
Mr Ronald Weasley your son has settled into Ravenclaw just fine. He shares his bedroom with Mr Harry Potter. They appear to be great friends. Here in Ravenclaw each student gets a bedroom which they share with only one other person. This promotes good sleep hygiene and excellent studying space. It is why us Ravenclaw's are usually so well rested and level headed. I shall correspond every six months with you about Ronald including a report on how he is doing as I do with all of my Claws. I understand Minerva does not do this with her Griffins but I do assume she has a different protocol for her own house so I will leave that there. I myself aided in the cleaning of Gryffindor house last night. I was most disgusted as most of these students seemed to be genuinely happy people. Harry Potter not being sorted there truly threw them over the edge for whatever reason. At least we can say your sons were not part of that. Again I wish to reiterate what fine young boys you have.
Signed,
Professor Filius Flitwick.
Arthur read it to himself gasping at parts and tearing up at the end. Molly wondered what it was about but he just told her to read it. She did so and she was also crying at the end. Their boys had been so good and brave. They were both so very proud in that moment. Back at school after a hearty breakfast Harry and Ron told Susan and Padma they were going to explore the seventh floor while the girls who were too excited to wait were going right for the library. After lying to Ron about his father he was farm more eager to go to the Room of requirement. He reached the seventh floor asking for the room containing the Diadem of Ravenclaw and gasped with Ron as the door appeared having forgotten how marvellous that always was. They entered finding piles and piles of junk which made Harry stop for a moment his breath catching. The last time he'd been in here Goyle had died and he'd saved both Malfoy and Zabini. Hell they'd nearly all died. Managing to somehow remind himself he was not back there again he stepped forward. As he'd known what to ask for it took very little time to find it. Ron had gone down a side alleyway to look at some old brooms while Harry had called Tilly to him.
"Tilly this is another bad object Voldemort used and I need to destroy it however the object is rather valuable. Is there any way to destroy the object inside without destroying the diadem itself?" he asked her carefully pointing at it.
"I don't know sir. Stand back now and I will use the basilisk venom on it!" she said seriously as he stood back. She dropped carefully four drops of basilisk venom onto the diadem which seemed to inhaled the venom as it appeared to soak into it. Harry wondered if they'd done something wrong when there was a wailing sound and it exploded violently the soul fragment being killed off. He wondered why Ron hadn't reacted at all but then saw that she'd put up a silencing barrier so he wouldn't notice. There was only one bit of his soul left and this was the problem as Dumbledore had destroyed the ring himself. He'd never told anyone where he'd gotten it from as he'd not needed to since it was already destroyed and in that vein no one had thought to ask him about it either. They would take time to find it but rest assured it would be found. The diadem was now in two halves like Harry had feared.
"Tilly please go and get some of those phoenix tears I asked you to keep for a rainy day should we ever need them and hold them together while I put some of them on it. I want to see what happens!" he ordered as Tilly left and returned soon with the phoenix tears in a tiny vial. She handed him the vial as she held together the two halves of the diadem. He dropped a few drops on it as there was an explosion sound again and it was repaired. It would seem no one had ever thought to do this. He put it back down again asking Tilly to take the phoenix tears away again. He fully intended to get Ron to find it himself.
"Harry mate have you seen all of these brooms? There's like loads of them wow! Do you think any of them are useful?" he asked as Harry joined him.
"I'm not sure Ron. Come on let's look over here we might find some more!" he said leading them to the section with the diadem which as planned Ron found.
"Wow look at this Harry. It looks so expensive! What should we do with it?" he asked as Harry smirked.
"I don't think we should keep it but Professor Flitwick might like if we gave it to him. It looks too expensive to keep!" he said as Ron agreed. They looked around a bit more and finally left. They found Flitwick's office and knocked entering when he called them to. He saw the diadem in their hands and screamed.
"Where on Merlin's green earth did you find it?" he asked in awe.
"Well we were searching in the room of requirement because my father mentioned it before and I wanted to see if it was as magical as he said it was when we found it. What is it? It looked so beautiful that we didn't think we should leave it there!" Harry responded as Ron handed the diadem over. They were stunned when before he could reply the Grey Lady came in looking furious and grabbing it roughly from his hands.
How did you find this!? It was meant to stay hidden! It has been tampered with! What on earth? It's not tainted!? But he said he tainted it. I felt the taint! This is fine! She proclaimed bursting into tears as she placed back in his hands and disappeared through the wall. She was very confused. Well at least without the taint inside it, it would no longer harm anyone. Filius looked confused.
"What is the room of requirement Harry and how does it work?" he asked as they brought him up to the wall following the instructions of his father when the room appeared and they once more entered it.
"Twenty points to Ravenclaw for a masterful find and I must award you both awards for services to the school for a miraculous find. Well done boys" he beamed as they both looked around proudly. They all left for Professor Dumbledore's office. When they entered Minerva was discussing something with him but gasped at the Diadem in his hands. It was long lost for a reason.
"Professor Dumbledore sir I am here to award Mr Ronald Weasley and Mr Harry Potter special awards for services to the school as they have located the long lost Diadem of Ravenclaw in a hidden room on the seventh floor they found whilst exploring up there" he said as Albus looked stunned. He was absolutely furious. Gryffindor had been ruined by Gryffindor's last night and here these two boys were on their first day here finding the damn lost Diadem of Ravenclaw. What a complete fuck up. He had never hated his house more than anything right now. His house should have been the one to make the discovery not these two Ravenclaw boys one of which should really have been a Gryffindor like his parents. It was ridiculous. Never the less the award was given privately in his office and no fan fair was brought out at all. Filius was confused by this but both boys assured him they didn't actually want the attention something which again Albus hated. Ronald was a nobody but Harry was celebrity and should relish his fame like a Gryffindor not hide behind intellectual nonsense like a Ravenclaw. This was so disappointing to him. He cried as they all left his office. What a mess!
