It was around noon when they got close to where Jackson's car was parked. They pulled into a small gravel parking lot where a handful of other cars were parked as well. Natasha got out and went ahead on foot, leaving Clint with the car in case she needed a quick exit. She followed a small footpath and climbed over a large hill with a pine tree. She turned on her camera as she walked, and as she walked past the tree she felt a cold breeze and shivered, she stuck to the tree line until she came to the bottom of the hill. She was behind a low one story building.

"Come on babe," a voice said laughing. "I said no cuddles for a week after that stunt you pulled." Then there was a thud and more laughing.

"You and I both know that you didn't mean that mi amor," said a voice that had a slight Italian accent. Natasha peeked around a corner and saw a dark haired boy with pale skin with a slightly taller blond boy. The dark haired boy was looking up with a smirk then kissed the blond.

"Nico," the blond boy groaned. "You're going to be the death of me." Nico, the dark haired boy, chuckled pulling back.

"You say that like it's a bad thing. Or would you prefer Thanatos over me?" Nico asked teasingly.

"Shut up," the blond said and Natasha left as they kissed again. She went back around the other side of the building knowing that the two boys would be occupied for at least a few more minutes. The next place she explored was a large clearing with several cabins in a semicircle, but she could see other cabins set back in the woods as well. She saw a few kids running around and there were also a few out on boats in a lake. Most seemed to be in a large pavilion slightly up another hill though. She walked through the woods and came to an archery range. Then she passed a large building that seemed to be a stable. But what really shocked her was the large coliseum like building that she came upon. She walked towards it and heard the clashing of metal. She stayed in the shadows as she assessed her surroundings. There were a handful of kids fighting with real swords, and she saw that there were stands for spectators inside. So she climbed up and hid on the top row behind a large trash can. She watched the kids, some of them were no older than six, although the only ones with real blades all looked over ten. The younger kids all had wooden weapons, but she could tell that they had the same balance as the real blades.

"Come on Claire, you won't last long like that!" an older girl barked. A girl around ten jumped and fixed her form. "If y'all want to stay alive you need to take this seriously."

"We know," a boy around twelve snapped spinning around to face the older girl. Decapitating a dummy as he did so. "Lay off already, summer isn't over yet and we're safe for now."

"Hellhound!" a loud voice yelled. All the kids all dived for cover and Jackson came charging out of nowhere towards the boy who had been arguing with the older girl. He traded blows with the younger boy for a few seconds before sending the boy's blade clattering to the floor. "Don't believe that just because you're here means you're safe, I learned that the hard way." The boy nodded sheepishly and went back to his drills.

"Percy fight me!" a little girl around six said running towards him with her wooden sword. Percy smiled and jumped and danced around the little girl as she backed him towards a rack of wooden swords. Percy seemed to make his metal sword vanish before grabbing a tiny wooden one and sparing with the little girl. Unlike with the other boy, Jackson was just playing with the child, and Natasha knew that he had only been teaching all of them a lesson when he had charged at the other boy. But why?

"You got me!" Percy said dramatically falling to the ground as several small children jumped onto his chest and started attacking him. "Alright guys, now it's time for the real lesson." He sat up and waved a small boy around eight forward.

"Percy you said that Emma was going first today," the boy said pouting. Percy pretended to be confused, then smiled and waved a younger girl forward. He raised his wooden sword, as did the younger girl.

"So remember what we did yesterday?" Percy asked tilting his head. The girl nodded with a big smile and charged. They traded blows that were obviously rehearsed. "Yup, perfect!" The girl looked proud of herself as she backed off. Then a girl around nine charged and Percy smiled as he turned to face her. Each of the kids had a turn, then Percy took them over to the dummies. He showed them a few forms, watched them for a few more minutes, then went over to the older girl.

"You're too soft," the older girl said scoffing. "They need to learn, after summer's over we can't do much to help them. They're on their own." Percy shrugged and looked around.

"I know, but they're just kids Clarisse," Percy said.

"So were we," Clarisse said with a growl.

"Now, I need to let off some steam after this morning. You up for some fun?" Percy asked. Natasha watched the older girl, Clarisse, smirked and a spear flew into her hand.

"Someone's got to keep you on your toes when Sparky and Bird Brain are busy, and since they're busy you're on Barnacle Breath," Clarisse said and before Natasha could blink Percy had his metal sword back in his hand and they started fighting. Natasha could see the difference from when the two of them had been sparring with the kids and with each other. They were relentless and soon all of the kids had stopped to watch.

"Get em sis!" a young boy yelled.

"Come on Percy!" another called out. It was strange to watch these two teens fighting in what seemed to be a fight the death, Natasha watched as Jackson knocked Clarisse to the ground after about five minutes with his sword to her neck.

"Alright, show's over," Clarisse growled as he helped her up. "Pair off and show us what you've been working on." The kids all partnered up and started fighting. Natasha watched Jackson and Clarisse walk around and give pointers, it was obvious that the kids were getting tired but none of them stopped.

"Ow!" A girl around eleven cried out backing away from her opponent. Her sword clattered to the ground and Natasha saw a line of blood running down the girl's arm.

"Have some nectar, and keep your shield up more so that you don't leave your arm open again," Jackson said. He was kind as he gave the girl suggestions on how to improve her technique, but also had a stern warning in his voice. He handed the girl a small water bottle, she drank then picked back up her sword sheepishly. It reminded Natasha vaguely of her own trainers, though they had lacked the softness Jackson seemed to have. "In a real fight dropping your weapon will get you killed. Five more minutes than water brake." Natasha saw the girl pick up her sword again and keep fighting, this was too much like the red room for Natasha's liking. Kids fighting through the pain trying to impress their peers,. This just made her even more sure that this place was dangerous. She saw that her camera was almost out of battery, so she climbed down quietly and headed back to Clint.

On her way back she saw a building for arts and crafts as well as a real life forge. Out of all the things she had seen the strangest thing was that she hadn't seen any older adults, the oldest she had seen were early college age, 20/21 at the oldest. It could almost seem like a regular summer camp. But between the weapons and the fact that there was no record of this place, it was definitely something weird that needed further investigating. She slipped back up the hill and found Clint right where she'd left him.

"Find anything?" Clint asked.

"Yea, a lot," Natasha said contemplating. "These kids need help Clint, but something is not adding up. I don't know what, but these kids are powerful and trained. I didn't see them use any powers, but they definitely have them." Clint nodded and they drove off trying to come up with ways to take the 'summer camp' without hurting the kids. Not knowing that if they had stayed just a few more hours, the songs and stories Natasha might have overheard at the campfire would have been much more revealing than what she had seen during the day.

Authors Note: Happy Saturday everyone! So here's a special double upload to reward you guys for your patience with me as I write this thing. So I wanted to address a few things that seem to be bugging people, specifically my chapter length. Personally, I don't like mixing different POVs in the same chapter, it just doesn't sit right with me. Especially when the things happening are at different times/places. I know that short 3 paragraph chapters are annoying, which is why I have tried to pair those with a double update. So I'm sorry if that annoys people, but if any of you are writers you will know that stories have a mind of their own, and this is just how this story wants to be written. Longer chapters are ahead, but while things are still heating up please just be patient and wait for the story to unfold. If you took the time to read this far thank you for your time, and I'll see everyone again next week :)
