I woke up after a little over after 2 hours of sleep cause it was nearly a full moon. I got dress, wearing a silver hoodie, purple and orange shirt for mixed Demigods, black jeans, and red boots. Jason was around my neck when I woke up so I guess he came back while I slept.
I left my cabin and walked towards the Astraeus Cabin.
Goooood morning. Buzzed a sleepy Jason. I said "Hey dude"
I heard what you were doing at lunch time he buzzed
"What were you doing?" I asked. I summoned Jason and walked as he flew along with me.
"Giving my kid some pointers on what makes him a human taser. He likes lightning more than wind cause wind requires oxygen, and there's no oxygen in space. I think he's the first descendant of Jupiter to admit Sea beats Sky." Said Jason.
"Well, he's not trying to be mean, he's just being logical" I said.
"I know, but as you and Gale revealed yesterday, everyone here is too logical." said a disappointed Jason.
"I guess that's what you get when the creator of the new power is a child of Athena" I said. I arrived at the Astraeus Cabin. Before I knocked on the door, Miu opened it, "Hey"
I took my hands out my pockets "Heyyy, I want to apologize for last night. I practically coerced my way in. It was rude and disrespectful, and for that I apologize" I said apologetically.
She brushed it off, "It's f-fine. Nice t-to have some c-company"
She was wearing the same thing from last night, except this time, her hair was in a ponytail.
"W-what happened to you?" Said a confused Miu. I couldn't really blame her. My eyes are definitively unexplainably not normal. Then there's my hair and birthmark
"Birthday present from my Mom." I said.
"Ohhhh, this must be the annoying Lunar lochead cutie that you were talking about this morning" said a boys voice. Miu froze. I felt blood rushing to face,
"Ian!!" said Miu, embarrassed. I rubbed the back of my head and tried to change to subject, "uhh...so w-what are g-gonna watch?"
Ian laughed. Miu started emitting a red light. This only egged him on further, "Awwww, your blushing" and he kept laughing.
He walked up to me and said "My name is Ian. Nice to meet you."
I shook his hand, composing myself, "Likewise"
Miu simmered down, "W-w-why did you s-say t-that, you I-idiot?!"
"What?! I was just stating what you said earlier this morning" said Ian with a mischievous smirk on his 10 year old face.
She walked him upside his head, "That was for you to hear only!"
"OWW! Ok ok ok, jeez! You're no fun" pouted Ian, walking to his bed, laying down, and playing with his powers.
She sighed and turned back to me, "TV isn't working, so we just chilling"
She let me in, "I was planning on going for a nightly flight"
I smiled, "How bout I join you then?"
"S-sure" she stuttered. Ian snickered, which caused her to throw a little spark of light at him. He yelped, rolled off the bed ungracefully, and yelled "HEY!! Watch it, you overgrown Sasquatch!"
Before she could tear him limb from limb, I pulled her outside and closed the door, "Before you commit Fratricide, let's go on that flight", unsheathing my wings
She muttered, "Fine. Let's go."
I flapped my wings, going airborne, "Waiting on you, Nightshine" and flew off.
This is only my 3rd time flying. It's still really difficult to do, but I think I do a pretty good job.
Miu completely shattered my versions of a good job, by gracefully flapping next to me.
"Um...what did you just call me?" Asked Miu. I smiled and said "Nightshine, cause you shine the most at night"
Her eyes glimmered, proving my point. "H-hey, did you a-already ask Alex t-to the Olympia Dance?" asked a wondering Miu. I nodded, "Yea"
She flew off, "Come with me, I wanna show you something"
I followed her, struggling to keep up. She was fast and graceful.
We landed on the beach, but it seemed to be a secluded section of it. I looked on at the Ocean, admiring the moonlight glimmering off of the water.
I looked at the moon. The light intensified a little, meaning Mom probably saw me.
"I come here cause of how the stars look reflected off the ocean" said a mesmerized Miu.
She turned to me, "You were dared by Gale to ask Alex out, right?"
I nodded. She started fiddling with her hair, "If you had the chance, who would you have asked out?"
"You, Alex, Maria, or that black girl named Teresa from the Hermes cabin." I said without a second thought.
"Oh" said a surprised Miu. She was nervous, "W-w-well next t-time, will y-you go w-w-with m-me?"
"Yes" I answered with hesitation. She started glowing green. I chuckled, "So a different color for each emotion. Nice"
The light turned red, "S-shut up!" said Miu. I held my hand out, calling on some moonlight. I felt that familiar tug in my gut and silver swirling batch of moonlight came to my hand.
It was the size of a foot ball. I concentrated and thought of a dragon. The light mold and contracted, forming a silver dragon made of moonlight.
It glided around us, glowing and leaving a trail of silver smoke.
We played around with powers for the next 5-6 hours, the moon and stars providing us with an endless supply of light, Jason joining in 2 hours in, before we decided to walk back to her cabin. It was nearly time for everyone to wake up, as the sun had just come up.
On our way there, I felt someone following us. I had my hand on my bow in necklace form, my guard up.
However, Jason said "Rachel? What are y-?!
He was interrupted by a redhead woman in a nightgown falling to her knees with green smoke pouring out of her eyes and mouth.
A smokey apparition of a snake appeared over her,
Led by MoonStorm, 10 heroes must journey
Towards the darkness of sun, the dead, and the moon.
Allied with Daughters of Snakes and gods
As they lead you to the palace of crimson and Maroon,
To stop a devourer from being unleashed into the night
MoonStorm must unlock the 2 spears to fight.
The snake got up in my face
By 16, when all hope seems lost and down to fate
United under the darkness incarnate,
Rise the wolves and devourers of blood
MoonStorm must unleash the insanity
Or devourers and wolves will rule
and darkness will flood.
I stood shocked, not knowing what to do. But then the snake receded and she collapsed. I rush forward and caught Mrs Rachel before she fell.
I told Miu to go wake Chiron. I carried Rachel all the way to the infirmary and started banging on the door, "SOMEBODY HELP! I DON'T KNOW WHATS WRONG!! SHE JUST WALKED UP TO US AND SOME WEIRD GREEN SM-"
Immediately the door open, and Megan helped me get Rachel on the bed. The breakfast horn then blew
"What happen?" Said Megan. I started to freak out, "I don't know!! Me and a girl named Miu were hanging out and she walked up to us" I was shaking and getting more worked up. I was starting to glow a little.
"Then a weird green snake make of smoke came out of her and spitted some terrible bars and-"
"Wait! Weird bars? Weird how?" Said a pale Megan. She place my hands together in front of my face and hit both of them at the same time. The shaking stopped cause of it.
"Something about something called 'MoonStorm' traveling towards some darkeness and using some spears on a devourer or something" I said, calming down.
Megan looked as white as paper. Soon, Chiron walked into the infirmary. I told him what happened and he told Megan to go get her father.
He then escorted me to the Big House.
All the adults and some of there kids were there, plus Mom and her hunters along with Dad, and some Romans. Gale literally popped in beside me.
Chiron then said, "Tell them what happened, my boy"
I explained everything. I must've been ready to pass out from stress overload cause Gale put my headphones on my ears and turned the music on to calm me down. Jason flew in with Tyler in tow.
A strange look passed Dad's face when I mentioned the last parts of what she said.
Mrs. Jackson said "It's another grand prophecy, but this time it's for Ky and Gale. And then theres the prophecy that calls for a quest led by them"
"But she didn't say anything to me" said a confused Gale.
"MoonStorm, kid. It's what the Oracle calls you and Ky, I guess. Prophecies have various double meanings with multiple possibilities." Said Mr. Pace.
"And what does it mean by 'daughters of snakes and gods? Have the gods been screwing snakes?" I said. I have no filter when my music is pulling the strings.
Some people laughed and snickered, others were trying not to laugh cause my Mom was in the room. Mom shocked everyone by laughing, so everyone else started laughing. Except Dad.
He was lost in thought but then spoke up, "I know what the 'daughters of snakes and gods' part means. However I swore not to tell. I can only send you to the place to find your answer."
"Where?" Said Mr Di Angelo. Dad said "Mother M's Floral Paradise, New Jersey."
"Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait. A. Minute!" said S. Jason. Mr, Jackson, getting where S. Jason was going, pointed up, "You mean to tell that one of our parents, screwed Medusa?!"
Once everyone processed what he said, people struggled. It to laugh cause this is very seriousl. Will said "We'll come back to that later. Who's going? Cause it said 10, which means 8 including Gale and Ky"
"Alex and Dylan have to go, cause it said 2 spears had to be unlocked" said Mr. Rodriguez.
I looked at S. Jason, "I think Tristan should go"
"You're funny, man" said S. Jason. I said "I'm not trying to be. I'm serious."
"No" said S. Jason and Mrs Di Angelo at the same time. Tristan whined "The prophecy didn't say anyone would die. So why can't I go?"
S. Jason stated, "Devourer. Devourers of blood. Now I'm not a brainiac but I'm pretty sure that sounds like you're gonna be eaten"
I look at Gale, who seemed to know what devourers of blood meant.
Vampires. Has to be. They devour blood. Said Gale mentally.
I pondered it. And it makes sense. Gale said "Vampires are devourers of blood"
Everyone looked at him quizzically. Gale asked, "Darkness of the sun, the dead, and the Moon? Doesn't anyone, besides Aunt Arty, know the Greek myth about the first Vampire?"
Mrs. Jackson said, "Ambrogio and Selene?"
Most were still confused. Mom paled.
Gale said, "Ok well. Ambrogio was a Italian who fell in love with Selena, the Titaness of the Moon. Apollo was also head of heels for her, so he cursed Ambrogio to burn to ashes in the sun. Over the next few days, Ambrogio exchanged letters with Selene using pigeons blood. He knew Selene was immortal, so he went to Hades. He offered Hades his soul so he could become immortal, but-"
"Hades told Ambrogio to try and steal my bow and arrows, So Ambrogio came to me under the guise of wanting to be one of my very few male followers. I decided to let him in since I already knew about how deeply he was in love with Selene and knew he would try anything with my hunters. When I caught him trying to steal my bow, I cursed him with a deadly allergy to silver. He begged for my forgiveness and explained his situation. Out of pity, I let him go, but only if he becomes one of my followers, never falling in love or getting married. He agreed and I turned him into a hunter as nearly as great as me, out of respect for his love for my predecessor. I enhanced all over his physical abilities to make him the best of the best, even giving him the power to heal and turn into a bat" Mom said.
She sighed, "A moment of kindness I now regret"
Gale took over, "After spending a few years proving his loyalty, she let Ambrogio go off with her silver bow and arrows to Hades. Hades held up his end of the bargain and took his soul, making Ambrogio immortal. When Ambrogio found Selene, he found out that Apollo has made her mortal cause she rejected him. Ambrogio brought her to Aunt Arty, and even though he wasn't supposed to be in love, She said Ambrogio could save her by making her like him and giving her his blood. When he did, Aunt Arty took Selene to the moon and restored her divinity. With Ambrogio on earth and Selene on the moon, they could never be together. Ambrogio followed his vow of chastity to Artemis, but held to his love for Selene, never loving anyone but her. So just like he did to Selene, Ambrogio made more vampires, with Selene claiming them as her children with him. They gained all their parents and weaknesses along with additional abilities they picked up over time. Even though Selene had other lovers, she always watched over her children."
When the story was finished, some had tears in their eyes.
"It's not that sad. We have to fight this guy and his kids, remember?" I said.
"Dude, have a little heart." Said Jason, who was rubbing the tears off his face.
Once everyone composed themselves, Andrea spoke up, "But shouldn't that mean that Ambrogio is devoted to Artemis. And Hades has his soul."
"About that, Hades gave it back shortly after Selene fell in with Endymion. Ambrogio was still immortal cause the soul had spent so long in the underworld, it changed." Said Mom.
"What about the wolves? Does that mean Lycaon is teaming up with Vampires? I thought they were mortal enemies." Said Lucas.
"Yes they are. A female werewolf in heat raped a male vampire. It started a war that really had Hecate on the ropes in containing and concealing" said Mr. Underwood.
Everyone looked at him oddly, "How do you know that?" Said Mr. Jackson.
Mr Underwood shook his head, "It's not my place to-"
"It's Ok, Mr. Underwood. You can tell them" said Miu, who had just popped in beside me. I jumped.
"Are you sure?" Said Mr. Underwood. She nodded. She looked at everyone, "I'm a Vampire. He knows cause I told him about it and satyrs knows the difference between monsters an-"
"Wait a minute. Have you ever killed anyone?" I said.
Mom wacked me on my head. "OW!"
She looked hurt, "What?! No!"
"Then don't refer to yourself as a monster, silly" I scolded, rubbing my head.
"Lets get something straight. V-vampires have c-changed. They've evolved, especially w-with vampires from other pantheons coming into p-play. S-silver don't kill them a-anymore. And sunlight only w-w-weakens them. Garlic allergy is rare. H-holy objects d-don't hurt them. And we have a reflection," said Miu.
"Is that why you're in your cabin most of the time?" Asked Sammy. She nodded, "I was b-born a Vampire. Normal food k-keeps my blood c-cravings at bay and I can go without b-blood for 27 days. I d-don't sleep u-unless I want to. I can't turn p-people cause I was born a V-vampire and Vampires c-can only m-make other Vampires in the s-same way t-they were created. I'm n-not immortal, but I w-will look really y-young for my age when I pass 40." Said Miu.
"Wait. Does that mean Dracula was real?" Said Tristan.
Miu said "Yes. He was the first Daywalker, the first vampire to be able to walk in sunlight. He sealed himself i..." she trailed off then looked at me.
"D-didn't the prophecy say something about a Devourer being awakened?" Said Miu. I nodded
"Well Dracula is the only vampire in vampiric history to every go to sleep and stay asleep for over a hundred years." Said Miu.
"So we're gonna have to fight a dude who goes "bleh, bleh bleh, bleh'?" Asked Sammy.
"That's a m-myth. Tv and m-movies o-o-over-exaggerate what he actually sounded like." Said Miu.
"Vampires c-can go into a deep s-sleep for years and c-come out stronger. However, no one has ever m-made it p-past 7 years, except Dracula. They n-need the blood of a l-loved one, someone related to t-them, or a supernaturally powerful being of the night to w-wake them up." said Miu.
"But why did he even go into deep sleep" said Charlie.
"It h-has been said that Dracula fell in l-love with a w-woman named Anastasia. His feelings, w-were returned and they g-got married and h-had a son, but she chose a him over a god. That g-god was Ares. Mad at being rejected, Ares h-had her killed by a wild b-boar."
Descendants of Ares facepalmed.
Miu continued, "Dracula f-feared his son was next, so he s-sent him off to live w-with foreign relatives. Dracula s-swore revenge and w-went into d-deep sleep for o-over a hundred years. He still a-asleep." Said Miu
"What about the son?" Said Daniel.
"His son's bloodline w-went on to create a group that offers sanctuary to all peaceful supernatural beings. It g-got to the p-point we're even peaceful and pacifist gods gave them divine protection"
"So that would mean all we keep Ky and Miu out of Draculas hands" said Charlie. She was fiddling with Pocket knife.
"But who's trying to wake him?" Said Mr. Di Angelo.
No one could answer. Chiron said, "Discussion will continue later. Everyone here needs to go eat breakfast"
Everyone left and went to the dining pavilion.
