Naruto: Rebirth of the Hyuuga Clan

Hikari is not the usual run of the mill stiff and traditional Hyuuga. How will the ninja world react to a Hyuuga that uses genjustu, kenjustu, ninjutsu, poison, and sniping techniques with thrown weapons?

8. The Invasion and Snake Sage Training

Naruto: Rebirth of the Hyuuga Clan: Chapter Eight; The Invasion and Snake Sage Training.

Hikari dropped Sasuke and Naruto to the ground while the two purity seeking orbs turned back to their original state. She then went through some hand signs. 'Ninja Art: Chakra Transfer' A stream of blue chakra came out of her storage seals and started to restore their chakra. They were going to need it…The massive influx of chakra also seemed to supercharge Naruto's already accelerated healing factor to heal the severe first degree burns all over his skin.

At this point, she could create seals that held four times her full chakra capacity and had a total of thirty-two seals in her clothes and armor containing a total reserve of one-hundred-eight times her body's total chakra capacity.

It was now that she once again was astounded by Naruto's sheer level of chakra. While Sauske only needed a half of a chakra storage seal to cap off his reserves, Naruto needed ten! Naruto had forty times her body's levels of chakra!

The Hokage Box

The Third Hokage rapidly went through some hand signs. "Fire Style: Dragonlance!" A fast dragon-headed spear came out of his mouth and sped towards the snake sanin.

Orochimaru rapidly signaled his sound four to construct a barrier then went through some hand signs. "Water Style: Water Barrier!" Some water came out of his mouth and covered him in a protective layer of water that shrugged of the flame jutsu. He then rapidly went through some more hand signs.

"Summoning Jutsu: Reanimation!" While he was still falling, two coffins emerged from purple portals falling alongside him and shattered to reveal the forms of Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju. All three ninjas easily landed on the ground of the arena and a rectangular flaming purple barrier went up around the entire stadium just after.

Naruto and Sasuke slowly sat up in a daze.

"Get ready for battle, I've restored your full chakra levels but we are fighting the reanimations of the first and second hokages!" Hikari told them urgently.

Sauske had no idea what she was talking about. "What the hell is a reanimation?"

"A forbidden jutsu that brings someone back from the dead at the cost of a living soul as a sacrifice" Hikari explained in disgust. While she admired the second hokage greatly, he went way too far on some of his jutsus...

'Like sensei like student, I suppose…Fucking Danzō, you just had to pick up the worst possible traits of your sensei…'

"That's just gross!" Naruto was disgusted beyond belief about the existence of such a jutsu.

"We can discuss the shortcomings of the second Hokage later, for now, I need you to prepare for battle!" Hikari told them urgently. They had to get ready before the two reanimations and Orochimaru went on the offensive.

Naruto and Sasuke nodded and did so, Naruto went into a two-tailed cloak form and Sasuke created a shadow clone to start gathering nature energy. Hikari similarly got into a battle stance.

"No matter the age, there is always conflict." Tobirama Senju sighed and shook his head in disappointment.

"It can always get better, younger brother. I am certain this age is far better than ours was." Hashirama pointed out optimistically.

"Lord Second! Just what were you thinking when you made this jutsu! Do you know how easily it could be exploited by our enemies if they learned it!" Hikari asked in exasperation.

Hashirama turned to his brother in annoyance. "Tobirama! How many times did I tell you to stop working on this jutsu!"

"I was careful!" Tobirama tried to reassure his brother.

"Not careful enough!" Hashirama argued back.

"I was more careful than you were with Madara!" Tobirama retorted in frustration.

Hashirama quickly lowered his head and looked down at the ground; he instantly became extremely depressed.

Tobirama then turned to his student Hurizen Sarutobi and the three ninjas that flanked him. There was a boy who was obviously the current nine-tails Jinchūriki based on the cloak of oppressive orange chakra he had around him, an obvious Uchiha based on his looks and chakra signature, and based on her chakra signature… an armored Hyuuga with white discs that felt the tiniest bit similar to shadow clones, blue barrier plates attached to her armor, and some kind of chakra armor that greatly resembled the Susanoo in miniature?

"So the Hyuuga Clan has finally started living up to their true potential? It took you long enough." Tobirama said happily. He was quite pleased with this new development since his death. He always thought that the Hyuuga Clan was always greatly limiting themselves by only practicing taijutsu and supplemental weapon jutsu. He was always fully certain that they could rival or even surpass the Uchiha and Senju Clans if they put their full effort into the ninja arts.

"I am in full agreement, lord second." And didn't she know that firsthand. The Hyuuga clan before she went out to change it were ruled by a group of massively stagnant assholes!

"It is time that we finish this, Orochimaru!" The third Hokage said while he looked at his student in sadness.

Orochimaru "As touching as this reunion is, we really must get this going…." He then froze the reanimations in place and started walking towards them with two kunai with seals on them.

Hikari rushed forward on one of her discs towards Orochimaru to stop him from taking full control of the reanimations. Orochimaru then wove some hand signs.

"Wind Style: Wind Scythe!" Hundreds of razor-sharp blades of wind then rushed towards the Hikari.

Hikari raised and expanded a disc to act as a shield against the blades of wind, which it did, but this was all the time Orochimaru needed to slam the control kunai into the heads of the two reanimations. Tobirama Senju went to fight Hikari while Hashirama Senju went to fight Naruto and Sasuke. This left The Third Hokage alone with Orochimaru.

"This is the end for you my sensei! You will not see the end of this day!" Orochimaru was laughing maniacally in glee. This would be his sweet sweet and long-awaited revenge! 'You will die Sensei...I will not make it quick nor painless…In addition to that, Sasuke...your eyes will be mine…Hikari your chakra nullification sphere jutsu will become mine as well…'

Hurizen Sarutobi looked at his former student in sadness. "I swore to protect the leaf village and carry on the will of fire when I became the Hokage... I may have made many mistakes along the way but I am still willing to lay down my life to protect the leaf village. You were never willing to sacrifice your life for something greater than yourself, this is why I chose Minato over you."

That most certainly got a reaction, just as the third Hokage was aiming to do. A ninja lost in bloodthirst makes dumb mistakes, and making dumb mistakes in battle will have you end up dead.

"Shadow Snake Art: Blade Storm!" Orochimaru sneered and let out two hundred snakes from his mouth. Each snake then spat out a copy of his legendary sword of Kusanagi.

"Shadow Tail Art: Chidori Blender!" Twelve monkey tails came out of the third Hokage's sleeves and each shifted into various unfamiliar forms before the Chidori appeared at the end of each tail. Each tail then started rapidly spinning around him and dispelled all the incoming shadow snakes.

The Third Hokage then went through some hand signs. "Fire Style: Fire Dragon Jutsu!" He then quickly went through some more hand signs. "Wind Style: Wind Dragon Jutsu!" He then had the wind dragon rush to the fire dragon to combine them. The resulting dragon burned with superheated white-blue flames "Firestorm Style: Heavenly Flame Dragon Jutsu!"

The dragon then sent out a continuous stream of blue-white fire. Orochimaru tried to dodge but he was too slow. He and the fifteen-foot-deep crater below him were rendered into nothing but molten rock and piles of ash.

To the third Hokage's surprise, the molten form of Orochimaru turned into a puddle of magma.

The Third Hokage immediately knew what this was. 'An Earth Shadow Clone' He then immediately jumped out of the way, narrowly being hit by Orochimaru's blade.

The two quickly restarted throwing high-level fusion ninjutsu back and forth with the aim to kill each other.

Hikari and Tobirama

"Water Style: Tsunami!" Tobirama said after waving some hand signs and forming a massive wave of water to try and batter Hikari.

'Water Style: Tsunami!' She thought after performing the same hand signs as the second Hokage. The two waves of water slammed into and nullified each other.

Tobirama was extremely impressed with the kunoichi he was currently fighting. If she was born in his time period, then he would have certainly tried to get her as one of his students. "Impressive…For one to have the same degree of control over water as I do in addition to the ability to silently cast jutsu, a skill even I never fully mastered, all from a Hyuuga no less."

Hikari nodded in acknowledgment, she was happy and honored to be complimented from the second Hokage she was so commonly compared to. She then wove some hand signs. 'Venom Style: Dance of The Snakes!' Large quantities of green snake venom poured out of Hikari's mouth to form large snake-like tendrils that rushed towards the second Hokage.

The second Hokage responded by weaving some hand signs of his own to fire off a counter ninjutsu. "Fire Style: Fire Wall!" A wall of fire then stood in the path of the tendrils and turned them into a cloud of misty fog on contact.

Hikari immediately realized that poison wouldn't affect a reanimation when Tobirama was totally unaffected after breathing in the toxic mist. "To have such a powerful fire affinity when having such strength in the water affinity…" This was going to be trouble, she just knew it. She had to take out her trump cards and end this quickly...

"I have unlocked access to all five chakra natures during life" Tobirama replied simply said, confirming Hikari's fears.

Hikari started going through some hand signs 'Water Style: Invisibility Cloak!' Hikari then disappeared from view and charged the second Hokage. She knew he was a world-renowned sensor, but she had to see if he could still sense her through her invisibility ninjutsu. As she predicted, The second Hokage easily dodged.

"A water-based invisibility ninjutsu? Impressive. But still sense the air you are displacing around you." Tobirama was yet again impressed with his opponent. If he didn't have experience fighting against those from the hidden mist who had a similar jutsu, then he would not know how to properly fight this; he knew to sense the air she displaced to form a mental picture of her.

Hikari started going through some hand signs 'Illusion Art: Vishnu!'

Tobirama then went limp in surprise. In his mind, he looked around at the place he was in. It was a world of whites and shifting blues. He had experienced a jutsu similar to this before, it was one of the possible Uchiha Mangekyou Sharingan manifestations; the Tsukuyomi. However, unlike the Tsukuyomi that relied on pure strength to block dispelling, he could feel here that there was a massive temporal disconnect between his thoughts and his chakra. 'This jutsu is extremely powerful, in some ways it even surpasses the Tsukuyomi I greatly suspect you based this on. Excellent work...' Tobirama then flexed his chakra to dispel the genjutsu. He immediately felt himself shifting back to reality.

Reality: With Hikari

Hikari then shifted one of her pure discs into a two-handed staff with two t-like protrusions coming off the top of the staff horizontally and a tiny spike vertically. She then ran some lightning chakra through it to make the entire staff sharper than a blade.

Hikari then started chopping apart the second Hokage like a blender. She also found that the chakra nullifying abilities of her purity-seeking orbs that allowed her to nullify ninjutsu and barriers also allowed her to disable the regenerative effects of a reanimation. She continued shredding his body until naught but his disembodied head lying in a dusty paper-like substance remained.

As the ten seconds of Vishnu ended, Tobirama's disembodied head looked at her in awe. "You will go far Hyuuga, thank you for stopping me and allowing me to rest once more…" With that, the reanimation jutsu used on Tobirama was disrupted enough to release the jutsu and turn the desecrated corpse of the second Hokage back into the dust from whence he came. Hikari then turned towards Naruto and Sasuke who were fighting the first Hokage.

Sasuke and Naruto: Two Minutes Earlier.

Sasuke and Naruto were currently in their sage mode and two-tailed cloak against Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage.

Hashirama Senju went through some hand signs. "It pains me to do this but I am forced to do this against my will. Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence!" A massive forest of trees emerged in the center of the arena whose branches started chasing after Naruto and Sasuke.

Sasuke went through some hand signs "Fire Style: Flame Cloak!" He then turned to Naruto "Naruto! Send me as much wind ninjutsu as you can!"

Naruto nodded and went through a single-hand sign "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!" He then went through some more hand signs "Wind Style: Great Breakthrough Storm!"

Each of the Naruto clones let out a massive gust of wind aimed at Sasuke. The massive amount of wind chakra boosted the flame cloak to become a massive one hundred foot tall wall of flames surrounding Sasuke. Sasuke then went through some hand signs "Sage Art: Flame Susanoo!" The Flames then started to shift and form into what looked like an imperfect Susanoo. A bow and arrow then appeared in its hand. "Sage Art: Sunbolt!"

The bow was drawn back and shot a massive arrow made from pure plasma towards Hashirama. It cut through the trees like a hot knife through butter and atomized the first Hokage when it hit him. This was due to the fact he wasn't even close to being at his full chakra reserves thanks to Orochimaru's paranoia. Unfortunately, he began to rapidly reform despite being ripped apart on the molecular level. It was then that Hikari sped in and started chopping the first reforming first Hokage apart with her two-handed staff.

Hashirama looked up at Hikari from the ashy paper his half-reformed head lay in.

Hashirama "It warms my heart that the Hyuuga have finally realized their true potential…Please help protect the village…"

Hikari "Don't worry lord first, the will of fire burns brightly within me. I will lead the Hyuuga down the right path whether they like it or not. I already have done so, I helped abolish the main family and branch family."

"Good, never let that drive to create a better life for those you care about to leave you. Now please, let me rest again…" Hashirama was pleased with that. With this new and revitalized Hyuuga clan to aid them, the leaf village would prosper.

Hikari nodded and raised her staff "It has been an honor, lord first." She then lowered her staff and destroyed his head. The ritual was fully disrupted and failed milliseconds later.

"Let us end this." She said looking at Naruto and Sasuke who had his flame Susanoo quickly starting to dissipate.

"Sorry, that single sun bolt attack used up the rest of the flame and most of my remaining senjutsu chakra." Sasuke said somewhat annoyed with himself. He then went through some hand signs. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" He sent the clone away to gather more nature energy. "I think I have just enough senjutsu chakra for one or two more attacks."

"It doesn't matter, but we have to end this now regardless. We've gotten rid of the reanimations, but now it's time to kill the caster now!" Hikari told them with confidence.

Naruto and Sasuke nodded and body flickered alongside her back to fight against Orochimaru. She signaled her teammates who she forced to learn ANBU hand signs. Well...Sasuke used his Sharingan's photographic memory and she used Vinshu on Naruto to teach him over several simulated weeks.

The three of them then saw six fleshly chunks of Orochimaru fly high into the air. That gave Hikari an idea.

With Orochimaru and The Third Hokage, One Minute Ago.

The Third Hokage dodged a powerful lightning-infused water ninjutsu before he then formed a Rasengan in his hands and threw a kunai at Orochimaru.

"A kunai?! A kunai?! That's it?! Pathetic!" Orochimaru was actually somewhat insulted and let the kunai reach him. Before it hit he made a hole in his body with a disgusting fleshly sound.

This was the third Hokage's plan however, as soon as the kunai passed through he activated the seal marker on the kunai. He rapidly traveled through the alternate dimension known as the void and appeared behind Orochimaru in a black blur. He rapidly rotated his body and slammed his Rasengan upward into the closing hole Orochimaru made to let the kunai pass through.

The Rasengan exploded against him and sent six disgusting pieces of flesh the Rasengan reduced his body to high up into the air where snakes emerged from each chunk to start and drag the pieces back together.

With Hikari, Naruto, and Sasuke.

Hikari 'Naruto, you go low and left. Sasuke you go low and from his right. I'll fly up and come down from above.'

'Understood' Naruto and Sasuke signaled back to her.

Hikari flew high into the air but below the purple barrier and made a singular hand sign 'Shadow Clone Jutsu!' She then let her two-handed staff float in the air next to her and then began to start gathering a Rasengan in her hand while her shadow clone made some hand signs 'Venom Style: Compression Rasengan!'

The Rasengan was then surrounded with a swirl of green hyper potent paralytic poisoned water flowing inwardly to the Rasengan like a bladed whirlpool. The clone then turned into a puff of smoke as she dispelled it.

Hikari came down from above on her purity-seeking disc while Naruto came in from the bottom left with an orange Rasengan and Sasuke came from the bottom right with a Chidori Cleaver. As Orochimaru was still busy trying to reform, the three of them managed to get into position. Seconds later the three unleashed their attacks on the snake sannin.

"Sage Art: Chidori Cleaver!" Sasuke shouted.

"Fox Rasengan!" Naruto shouted milliseconds later.

'Compression Rasengan!' Hikari thought as she was just about to end the snake's life.

The fox Rasengan made Orochimaru repetitively start exploding with lines of orange fox chakra exploding his body apart, while this was occurring Sasuke was slicing him apart with his Chidori Cleaver. He was trying to regenerate himself and was succeeding to create a stalemate only because he was sucking in massive amounts of nature energy through his curse mark.

It was then that Hikari slammed her Compression Rasengan into him, overtaxing his healing factor and sucking him deep into the green vortex where he was being rapidly sliced apart then massively compressed.

Orochimaru hissed in fury. "This is not the end! I will be back! My body may die but my soul is everlasting! I will just reform within my soul anchor and take a new physical form! I will have my revenge!"

Orochimaru was then totally sucked onto the green vortex. When he was sure he was dead Hikari stopped the jutsu and a tiny opaque diamond started falling to the ashen ground. She decided to catch it and place it in one of her seals to study it later.

Hikari deactivated all jutsu and seals before activating one of the four chakra storage compartments in each of her chakra storage seals to fully recover her lost chakra. The three of them then landed in a large pile of ashes. "It's over. For now at least."

Hikari was deep in thought, pondering Orochimaru's words. 'I need to begin research into soul manipulation, yin chakra experimentation sounds like a good starting point for that.'

'If Orochimaru was telling the truth, then only a jutsu that attacks the soul would be able to permanently kill him...Also... a soul anchor? That sounds like an intriguing device. If it can be created without the human experimentation he no doubt did and/or needing living sacrifices like the reanimation jutsu, the ability to move my soul between bodies would be quite a powerful thing to help protect the leaf village. If I died I could just send my soul back to the anchor to be used in a new body…'

'Hmm, I wonder if I can create a physical clone out of living tissue? A flesh clone of sorts? That would certainly be an essential advancement I need to achieve before using such a jutsu. Regardless, Orochimaru would never care for such ethics and likely just mindlessly uses living human captives just because he can. Such methods are disgusting! And he calls himself a scientist?! He's nothing but a sloppy, unrefined, unethical, overly obsessive, and inhuman butcher who likens himself to a god!'

'...That being said I must be careful not to lose sight of my morals, Orochimaru is what I could become if I let my ambition and sadism rule me. I cannot make any compromises, I cannot budge an inch. If I do, it will only lead to me making more and more moral compromises before I eventually end up just like him…'

The Third Hokage, Hurizen Sarutobi, then walked up to her and her teammates with a smile on his face. "I am so proud of you all! Orochimaru may or may not still be out there, but for now, the day is won. Each of you will receive an S-ranked mission salary for this."

Hikari nodded. She looked up and saw that the flaming purple barrier was receding. ANBU and medics quickly body flickered in to check on the Third Hokage and the former members of team seven.

Two Weeks Later: Clan Meeting

"I've called you all here today as I have an important announcement to make. I am old and I can feel that my time will be coming soon rather than later, as such, I am going to step down as Hokage once more. Permanently." The Third Hokage's announcement made everyone in the room start murmuring and talking among themselves about this new development.

The Third Hokage just flexed his chakra to get everyone's attention. "As I was saying, I will be permanently stepping down from the position of Hokage."

"Lord Third, may I ask who your successor might be?" Shikaku Nara asked. He had a few ideas of who he might choose, his Ryo was on Kakashi or Jiraiya.

Hurizen Sarutobi "I have given it some thought and I have come to a decision. I will send Jiraiya and the old members of team seven to retrieve Tsunade Senju after one month of well-earned rest from missions. It is my hope they can convince her with words but if the worst comes to pass, then they can easily overpower her with force."

Shikaku's eyes widened, that was most certainly not a choice he saw coming. Sure the Hokage's student was a Senju and was one of the legendary sannin, but she was also a notoriously drunk gambler who hated the leaf village and blamed it for the deaths of all those she cared about.

Hiashi Hyuuga was just as skeptical as Shikaku and many others in the room. "Lord Third, while I have no doubt the former team seven and Jiraiya of the sannin working together can both easily find and overpower Tsunade Senju, what will happen when she gets back here? And how exactly would these four even convince her to lead the village she hates?"

"I understand your concern Hiashi, but Hikari and Naruto are extremely persuasive, understanding, and compassionate people. It is my hope that the two of them together can convince her to come back and become Hokage. Hikari here did convince Gaara to give us the precious intel on the invasion did she not?" The Third Hokage tried to reassure him and any who might doubt this decision.

Luckily, no one in the room chose to refute that and the tension in the room lessened greatly. Hikari nodded in agreement.

Hurizen Sarutobi looked at Hiashi as he looked like he wanted to say something. He motioned for him to speak. "You have something to say, Lord Hiashi Hyuuga?"

Hiashi nodded. "It is also my hope here today that as the clan head, I can arrange for a marriage contract between Hikari and Neji Hyuuga." He announced to the room in a neutral tone.

The other clan heads were understanding as it made all the sense in the world. But Hikari, oh she was not so understanding, she was furious! She immediately flexed her chakra and looked at Hiashi with so much killing intent it actually seemed to make him visibility shiver in fear. She then slowly and menacingly walked up to him.

"Let me make something perfectly clear to you, Hiashi. You will not interfere with my love life, not now and not EVER!" Hikari started pacing but her menacing stare never left his eyes.

"I will give it a fair shot to develop both naturally and organically but if it doesn't work out then it doesn't work out. I will not become your political tool for you to gain power." She then stopped pacing and stared directly at him. "Understand this Hiashi, if I wanted I could have become the clan head when I turned sixteen! In fact, the majority of the branch family was in favor of this! Do you know what I said? I said it would be seen as the branch family making the main family ostracized as outcasts just like they once were themselves." She continued pacing, the sheer level of chakra she was outputting made dozens of cracks start to appear in the stone floor below her feet.

"Due to these reasons, I declined and suggested you remain the clan head but you make Neji the heir in a symbol of reconciliation to show you were dedicated to peace even after the cloud incident with your twin brother..." The output of chakra outright shattered the stone tiles below her at this point.

She then gave another powerful wave of killing intent that actually made him cower in fear. "So don't even think about getting an all high and mighty 'For The Hyuuga Clan' attitude with me like you were likely going to do as everything I have done is for the Hyuuga Clan. Is that totally and perfectly clear Hiashi?"

Hiashi just let his answer out in a tiny voice "Crystal…" Hikari then reeled in her chakra and killing intent before she sat back down in her seat as if nothing had happened.

An ANBU guard then jumped in and used earth ninjutsu to fix up the floor. Hikari just had to wonder how common an occurrence it was to have chakra and ninjutsu thrown around in anger if they had a dedicated ninja already in the room to fix the floor damage...

Everyone except Naruto, Sasuke, and The Third Hokage looked flabbergasted that a fourteen-year-old just ordered her clan head, the infamously stoic Hiashi Hyuuga, while letting loose enough killing intent to make him look like he pissed himself in fear.

Hurizen Sarutobi cleared his throat, eager to get back on track. "Anyways on to more clan business. It is time for me to officially name Sasuke Uchiha as the heir apparent to the Uchiha Clan who will become clan head upon reaching the age of sixteen…"

Nobody was surprised by this. What came after that on the other hand, was a very different story.

"It is also time for me to officially name Naruto Uzumaki as the heir apparent to the Uzumaki Clan who will become the clan head upon reaching the age of sixteen..."

Everyone except for Hikari immediately started asking questions. Naruto was shocked beyond belief.

Naruto was staring intensely at the third Hokage. "You know who my parents were?! Why didn't you tell me?!"

Hurizen Sarutobi looked at Naruto in sadness and pain. "I do Naruto, your father was a half-Yamanaka named Sai Yamanaka, a man who had a genetic mutation that gave him the extremely yellow shade of blonde that you inherited from him. As for your mother, she was a civilian survivor from the village hidden in the whirlpools named Yunai Uzumaki." He then took out a folder containing pictures of them and body filtered over to gave it to him. "Unfortunately they both died as so many others did on the night the nine tails attacked the village."

Naruto looked through the folder extremely happy but then turned sad and looked back at the third Hokage. "Why didn't you tell me before?!"

"The hidden stone and hidden mist both hate the Uzumaki, but not enough to start a war over a single one. I wanted you to be able to defend yourself from plausibly deniable attacks before you knew the truth." The Hokage tried to explain to him. The truth of the matter was rather similar to this convincing lie and he hated that ever more than this. He wishes he could just tell Minato's son his true heritage...

Naruto looked dejected yet understanding. "I…I understand…"

Hikari just glanced at Naruto with pity. 'It's sad that he can't yet know who his real parents were yet…'

"Very well, onto the next matter of importance…" The Third Hokage then got onto various other things of concern before the meeting adjourned a few hours later. Naruto fell asleep multiple times in boredom only to be reawakened by Hikari or Sasuke body flickering over to wack him on the back of his head and wake him up.

Late That Night: Sarutobi Residence

Hurizen Sarutobi bit his thumb and went through some hand signs before slamming it on the ground "Summoning Jutsu!"

A tiny brown messenger monkey then appeared. The Third Hokage then quickly wrote an encoded letter.

W, D is dead by my hand. S is now safe. Sorry I didn't write sooner as I was busy. -H

He then gave it to the messenger monkey "Give this to the Worc. Do not be seen by anyone else." The small monkey holding the letter nodded and disappeared in a reverse summoning.

Hikari's Home

Hikari slowly eased out of her meditative trance that she was in while she trained in the world of Vinshu immediately laid down on her bed. 'Well, that's five simulated years, a new record! I also think I'm officially a medium to high-level seal expert now.' *yawn*

'...Fuinjutsu is the purest form of chakra manipulation next to pure chakra molding in addition to the fact the very act of using chakra is an extremely minor form of yin-yang rele-' *yawn* 'Fuck it, I'm too tired for this right now, I'm going to sleep for the next few days or some-.' *yawn* 'Man, this jutsu takes a lot out of me mentally when using it to train for several simulated years at a time…' *yawwwnnn*

'...At least I'm training my ass off in my yin chakra and the yang chakra will try to somewhat equaliz- *yawn* 'Alright Hikari, sleep now, analyze jutsu later…'

She fell asleep not one minute later and didn't wake up for another two days.

Two Days After Hikari Woke Up: The Hokage's Office.

"...And so, I wish to take a few weeks of leave to travel to the Ryūchi Caves so I can attain sage mode." Hikari finished.

"You do know this month was meant for relaxing after the invasion right?" The Third Hokage said looked at her seriously. "Having a bit of relaxation time in with your working is important you know."

"To be honest I don't see this as working because I greatly enjoy training and creating new jutsus. I've already been training for the last five years in the confines of my mind a week ago. I then rested and spent some time with Naruto and Sasuke to reacquaint myself with the present." Hikari noted.

The Third Hokage just sighed. "...Fine, it's clear you're just going to train either way. Just make sure to be back before your upcoming mission."

"Thank your lord third. I will be back by the end of the month." Hikari bowed before she body flickered out of the Hokage's office.

The Ryūchi Caves

Hikari walked through the dim and misty Ryūchi Caves with her Byakugan active to see through the fog and low level of light.

She eventually came upon a snake cloaked in a genjutsu to make her look like an ornately robbed human female.

"Greetings, may I ask your name and directions to the white snake sage?" Hikari said with a bow.

The snake woman nodded. "I am Tagorihime, I can offer you directions but I would first like to treat you to a meal. You are most likely hungry after your long journey after all."

Hikari was immediately suspicious. "Why would a snake disguised as a human want to make me a meal? Or is it the other way around? Do you want to make me into a meal?" She immediately got into a battle stance to fight this poorly disguised snake woman if it proved necessary.

The Tagorihime snake woman looked at Hikari in genuine surprise. "You have seen through me already, I should not be surprised that one with a Dojutsu can do so. You are correct by the way, you have, unfortunately, passed the first test before it even truly began. I bid you farewell…You will most likely not survive..." the genjutsu covered woman then disappeared back into the fog.

Hikari continued walking again to try and find her way to the white snake sage when she saw another genjutsu cloaked snake woman. She followed her into a cave and a stone door slammed shut behind her.

The different snake woman, Ichikishimahime, gave a smirk towards the young Hyuuga. "Hello summoner, your next trial will be one of intelligence." She waved towards some gemstones. "You must fit all of these into the wall to pass. If you fail then I will eat your chakra." She said that last part with a giggle. Hikari already knew the snakes liked eating chakra from Sandro, but she was sure she could handle one little snake summon in battle if it came to that.

Hikari nodded and quickly started placing the gemstones into their matching holes until one remained. This final one didn't fit into any of the slots.

Ichikishimahime started giggling in delight. "It's starting to look like you might fail... "

Hikari gave a glance back at the filled slots and then immediately saw through the deception of this test. She wove some hand signs and pulled some water out of the mist to form a small rotating blade. She then used the blade to cut and shape the gemstone into a proper shape to fit into the slot.

The stone door then opened again and she walked out back into the mist.

Ichikishimahime pouted "Why do all our summoners have to be so intelligent and powerful? I never get a chance to eat anyone's chakra…"

Not soon after another genjutsu cloaked snake woman appeared from the fog and spoke to her. "I am Tagitsuhime, remove a piece of your armor and allow me to bite you so I may test your heart."

Hikari didn't believe her for a second. "Not a chance, do I Iook that foolish to you? I'm not letting you poison me."

Tagitsuhime pouted "Look, normally I would just sneak up on you but your armor is too tough for me to bite through, this is a legitimate test."

Hikari still didn't believe her and got into a battle stance to kill this snake summon in the battle that was most likely about to commence. "No, I refuse."

Tagitsuhime studied her and clearly saw her extreme level of conviction, a level of conviction that would allow her to pass her test if she administered it.

Tagitsuhime sighed "Fine. It's clear your conviction is not left wanting. I will take you to the white snake sage. Also, in case you were wondering, I was being entirely honest."

"You didn't lie by omission?" Hikari asked skeptically. She was still on guard in case this snake tried to pull any kind of sneak attacks on her.

"No, I honestly did not." Tagitsuhime said, shaking her genjutsu hidden tail in agitation.

"And after the deception aspect in the first two tests you honestly believed me to take you at your word?" Hikari pushed. Did this snake honestly believe their potential sages would be such fools?

Tagitsuhime thought about it and eventually nodded. "I suppose you shouldn't."

Three Minutes Later: The White Snake Sage.

Hikari turned to look at the gigantic form of the white snake sage and bowed. "White Snake Sage, I have completed your trails and I seek the power of snake senjutsu. Please teach me its ways."

The massive snake appraised her and then faster than Hikari could even react, she bit clean through her armor with her fangs and injected her with a pain-inflicting toxin imbued with massive amounts of nature energy.

Hikari fell to the ground and screamed in unbearable agony, the snake sage's poison rushing through her veins and chakra system.

She could feel it trying to overwhelm her but she knew she had to merge it with her normal chakra, she had to create an equilibrium. She tried to ignore the pain and occasionally felt herself being overwhelmed and started turning into a snake, but she ran more chakra to these areas to create a balance.

Fifteen minutes later, she created an equilibrium, she used medical ninjutsu to cure the pain-inflicting poison and quickly fell into unconsciousness.

The white snake sage nodded her head in approval. "She has passed. Once she has reawakened then I shall teach her how to achieve sage mode and use the Snake Kumite taijutsu style."

One Month Later (One Week Real Time)

Hikari was currently in her imperfect sage mode practicing Snake Kumite, her eyes were that of a snake's and had purple pigmentation around them. Her body was just as white and scaly as the snake who was training her.

She also discovered that her hypothesis was correct concerning how many chakra natures she had access to. She gained a fourth purity-seeking orb once her body accepted the snake sage's nature energy.

She channeled nature energy through her body to move a rock yet again when she had an epiphany. She now truly understood senjutsu, she had awakened true snake sage mode.

Her body shifted to become far closer to normal and her scales mostly disappeared. Two sets of scaled horns with sea-green tips then grew out of each of her temples. Her eyes turned into similarly colored green orbs while a similarly colored cloak of energy that looked like shifting snakes appeared around her.

The White Snake Sage flicked her forked tongue approval. "You have achieved perfect sage mode Hikari Hyuuga. There is little left for me to teach you except for how to master perfect snake sage mode, something that is several times easier. I will teach you this, then you may return home."

Hikari nodded and bowed. "Thank you."

One Month Later (One Week Real Time)

"Goodbye White Snake Sage, can you please send me home now?" Hikari said with a bow.

The White Snake Sage nodded and reverse summoned Hikari back to her house in a puff of smoke.

The Hidden Leaf Village: The Hyuuga Clan Compound; Hikari's House.

Hikari appeared in her room via a reverse summoning jutsu from the Ryūchi caves. She knew she had three days before she had to leave for her mission to retrieve Tsunade.

She decided to go see her mom and dad, then the Hokage, then her friends. She walked into the dining room to see her parents eating lunch.

Her mother Hiomi immediately jumped up and hugged her tightly the first thing she saw her. "My sweet little honey bun! I've missed you so much! How was your trip?!" Her mother then started annoyingly hugging and kissing her all over her face.

"I have fully mastered sage mode and have attained and mastered perfect sage mode." Hikari responded proudly while still half-heartedly trying to push away her mother.

Her father Hikaro looked at her proudly "That's my girl! I'm so proud of you!"

Hiomi immediately gave her another squeeze and started pestering her. "Yes, my sweet little honey bun! Tell me all about your trip!"

Hikari visibly winced before she slowly nodded and started telling the tale of her visit to the Ryūchi Caves.

Two Hours Later: The Hokage's Office

"... And that is about it. I have mastered both imperfect snake sage mode, perfect sage mode, external nature energy manipulation, and the Snake Kumite taijutsu style." Hikari finished explaining everything that occurred when she visited the Ryūchi Caves.

The Third Hokage looked at her in contemplation. "You know, I really shouldn't be surprised by any of this, but I still am. Congratulations Hikari on achieving what my students could not!"

"Thank you lord third. If that is all, can I spend some time with my friends? From my perspective, I haven't seen them in about three months after all. Sure it's less than five years but I've still missed them while I was gone." Hikari really wanted to see her friends. That last thing she wanted right now was to go on an emergency mission or something.

The Third Hokage shook his head no with a smile. "Nope. That is all Jonin Hikari Hyuuga." Hikari was immediately out of the room in a body flicker as soon as he said that.

Ichiraku Ramen

Hikari walked up to the noodle shop and as expected, she found Naruto and Sasuke eating a late lunch.

"Hey, guys! I'm back!" Hikari said as she waved at them with a smile.

Naruto and Sasuke looked at her expectantly. They clearly wanted to know if she achieved sage mode or not.

"Yes, I have mastered sage mode and even perfect sage mode." Hikari confirmed.

"You've mastered perfect sage mode?!" Sasuke said with wide eyes.

Hikari looked at him. "Didn't you? Your sage mode didn't look like a cat."

Sasuke immediately understood this line of questioning. "All sage modes are different from each other visually. That being said, the cats have a way to make the imperfect sage mode look like different types of cats. I chose to be trained to make it look like a hairless cat and to look almost identical to my normal physical form."

Hikari smirked. "So you're saying you normally look like a hairless cat? I thought you looked like a duck?"

Sasuke groaned in exasperation. "Ugh, please don't get started with that... I get enough jokes about that from Naruto as it is…"

Hikari decided to change the subject. "So how do the cats train you to feel and mold nature energy?"

"...The cat sage regurgitates nature energy imbued hairballs on you…" Sasuke said.

Hikari gave him a flat look.

Sasuke returned the look."What?"

Hikari was scandalized. "That's it?! That's it?! I had to endure agonizing torture poison imbued with nature energy being directly injected into my veins and chakra system by the snake sage and forced to master it on the fly while being in unbearable agony!"

Sasuke looked surprised. "Huh, I guess I got off lightly on that. That being said, it wasn't exactly an easy thing to create a balance and not turn into a cat. Not that your orbs helped there as you devised a way to disturb that delicate balance and force someone out of sage mode lest they become one of their summon animals."

"Thanks for reminding me about those! I now have four purity-seeking orbs as it appears my limit is directly linked to how many chakra natures I have access to, just as I predicted." Hikari was definitely happy about being right there. It gave her even more motivation to unlock and master all five chakra natures.

"By the way, Pervy Sage promised to take me to Mt. Myoboku so I can get trained by the toads in senjutsu soon too; Believe It!" Naruto said with a massive smile on his face.

Hikari smiled. "Good for you Naruto! Now, want to spend some time together before we have our big mission in three days?"

Both Sasuke and Naruto agreed.

Two Days Later: Hyuuga Clan Archives.

Hikari and Hiashi were currently scouring through the Hyuuga Clan Archives to discover more details about this Hamura person and her purity-seeking orbs jutsu.

It wasn't much but she did find an old strip of blank parchment used as a bookmark that had a weird feel to it. On a whim, she activated her Byakugan to take a closer look at it. When she did she was greatly surprised to see a pale blue ink appear out of nowhere to start forming words. It looked like some kind of prophecy.

'When one bearing the blood of the crescent moon achieves the number of the lunar prince and perishes, they shall then be reborn in a cloak of viridian moonlight.'

"What does that mean?" Hikari wondered aloud. It was certainly an interesting prophecy. The blood of the crescent moon was obviously the Hyuuga clan based on its Byakugan keyed genjutsu. Hamura was possibly the lunar prince but what about the rest of it? What did it mean to achieve the lunar prince's number? What did it mean they would be reborn after dying in green moonlight?

"What does what mean?" Hiashi came up to her, hopeful that she found something useful in their search.

"Activate your Byakugan and look at this blank strip of parchment" Hikari said, holding it up in front of his face.

Hiashi did so and was surprised. He didn't know the clan once was able to write in an ink only capable of being seen by an active Byakugan.

As for the message? Prophecy? He had absolutely no idea what it meant. Additionally, he had never heard of the Hyuuga Clan being referred to as the blood of the crescent moon before, and who was this lunar prince? Was Hamura this lunar prince? And what did it mean to achieve his number?

"I have no idea what this prophecy means." Hiashi said while he looked at it in confusion.

"That may be true, but it's still progress. We have learned more about the ancient Hyuuga Clan. It was clear that our clan once greatly revered the two moons." Hikari noted.

"Very true, let us keep looking. I feel like we're getting somewhere" Hiashi had to admit it was in fact something. Even a mere passing reference to Hamura, who was possibly one and the same as this lunar prince figure, was an indication they were headed in the right direction.

Hikari nodded in agreement. "Well, we do need to stop soon for today, I have a big mission tomorrow." And wasn't that stressful to think about, she and Naruto had to somehow convince the leaf village hating Tsunade Senju to come back and become the Fifth Hokage.

"I understand Hikari, our duties to the leaf village must come before our personal ambitions." Hiashi said a bit disappointed. Sure he completely understood and agreed with her, but he felt like they were only just now making any progress in this. The Hyuuga Clan Archives went back thousands of years, and even then much of it skipped around or even outright ignored certain time periods.
