Nathan narrowed his eyes as he looked at the list presented to him, courtesy of Ajuka.

After a while, he sighed as he said, "... Is there really no other way to get it?"

Ajuka glanced at him as he tinkered with machine parts, "Unless you want to go into the Olympus treasury, otherwise, no. This is the only way to get adamantine. Pure adamantine, mind you."

Nathan scratched his head in frustration as he tried to come up with a solution, "Can't I just rob the museums in Greece or something? Some of them must have extra adamantine that no one uses, right?"

A solution indeed, even if it was a brainless one.

Ajuka looked at him with a strange gaze, as if asking if he was crazy. "... There's other ways to commit suicide."

Nathan shot back at him, even if knowing deep down that he was wrong, "I'm not suicidal. I just want to find the easiest way to get it."

"Your suggestion tells me otherwise. The easiest way to get it, and the fastest way to die, is yes, robbing Greek museums. The safest and longest way to take it is to go to historical monuments. It might take a while, but my sources guarantee that there will be some adamantine in their surroundings. Even if it's a very tiny amount."

"... Let's say that your sources are credible," Nathan started, "But in that case, it could take me months, if not years to get enough adamantine for my scythe."

That was when Ajuka said in frustration, "That's why you shouldn't build a scythe! The amount that would be needed for it could take years to gather! Build something like a dagger, or even a sword."

Nathan shook his head stubbornly as he insisted, "The scythe is the only path for me."

"Then feel free to spend your time scraping adamantine out of the dirt."

That was when a voice within Nathan quipped, [I know a place where there's a lot of adamantine.]

Nathan jolted out of his seat in surprise as he heard Kronos, who had been quiet ever since the conversation that they had back in Nathan's mansion.

Nathan then looked warily at Ajuka, who didn't seem to notice Nathan's surprise as he narrowed his eyes, '... He can't hear Kronos?'

[Of course he can't.], Kronos scoffed.

'... That's convenient.' Nathan breathed in relief, before asking Kronos mentally since he didn't want it to look like he was talking to himself, 'Where is the place that you're talking about?'

Kronos 'smirked', [My coffin. The one back at the museum that you visited in Athens.]

'Nevermind.'

Nathan dismissed the idea the moment he heard of Kronos' suggestion. There was no way that he'd go back to that museum again. He refused to relieve the experience of having Zeus' lightning hanging over his head every second.

'Didn't Zeus kill you himself?'

Silence.

'I'll take that as a yes. Doesn't this mean that if I go back there, and if Zeus senses me, or… Satan forbid, you, somehow, he'd smite us both? That's an even faster way to die than me robbing museums'

Kronos scoffed in Nathan's head, [Do you think that I'd send you for your death for no reason, or without any insurance? No, I don't like wasting chess pieces. I told you about my coffin precisely because I have a way to get us in and out of that museum, and even Athens if you do what I say.]

Catching on to Kronos' words, even if it irked Nathan to be thought of as a chess piece, he ignored it for the sake of his gains. 'Do tell me more?'

[I'll tell you more if you agree to my suggestion.]

Nathan wasn't a fool by any means. There was no reason for him to agree to something that didn't have a high success rate.

'... I'll think about it.'

Kronos 'shrugged', [The offer is always on the table.]

"Sekirai?"

Nathan snapped out of the mental conversation as he heard Ajuka calling out to him with a concerned expression.

"Yeah? What's up?"

Seeing that nothing was wrong with 'Sekirai', Ajuka responded, "The floor must've been very

interesting for you, huh? You've been staring at it for the past 3 minutes."

"Of course it is. The immaculate and fancy decorations never fail to capture my attention."

"Haaa…" Ajuka sighed, before asking, "Have you decided on a plan to get your materials yet?"

Nathan carefully considered his answer as he listened to Ajuka's question, "I'll go with your method. It'll take a while, but at least it's guaranteed to have some, according to your sources at least."

Ajuka nodded in approval, "Good. As you should. I'll write up a list of monuments that you should visit."

Nathan nodded as he thanked Ajuka, before saying his goodbyes and leaving the lab.

[Bad idea. Don't do this.]

'What could possibly go wrong?'

[A lot of things.]

'Like what?'

[Maybe how the bomb might blow up in your face?]

'Pssht. No way. I don't make amateur mistakes.'

[It's not that I believe that you'd make mistakes. It's that I know that you'd make mistakes.]

'Shut up and believe in me for a second.'

Nathan cut off the mental connection between him and Kronos, something that he had learned to do after a while.

Nathan took a deep breath before releasing it, his eyes glued to the bomb that he was currently making.

Nathan propped a hand on his chin for a moment before reaching for a cylindrical object on his table - a stabilizer for the magic crystal that would be inputted soon.

Nathan then proceeded to graft all the materials together, and after some adjustments, the final product came out.

The bomb that he had just made looked eeriely similar to a clock. Something that Kronos didn't hesitate to point out the moment the connection between them was re-established. Not by Nathan's own volition, of course.

'It's just a coincidence. Stop whining about this.'

[I hope you don't expect me to believe you.]

'I don't.'

Nathan talked with Kronos has he got up from the table, taking the bomb with him, shuffling it into his pocket.

[Be careful with the bomb.] Kronos complained as he saw Nathan's rough handling of it, [You would be blown to pieces, and I wouldn't be able to save you like last time.]

'Wouldn't, or don't want to?'

[A mixture of both, perhaps. Regardless, wouldn't Ajuka Beelzebub be mad if the bomb exploded in his lab?] Kronos pointed out the fact that Nathan was currently in Ajuka's lab, hence why he should be careful with the bomb that he'd made.

'... Worst things has happened to him. Like how he blew up his project on accident.'

Nathan continued arguing with Kronos even as he walked out of Ajuka's lab, picking up a backpack and heading to said person's office.

It was only when he arrived at Ajuka's office that he stopped arguing with Kronos.

Ajuka, who was leaning back in his chair and reading a book, glanced at Nathan before asking, "Are you finished preparing for the thef- excavation?"

"Yep. I'm ready to stea- liberate some adamantine."

Ajuka nodded in approval as he noticed Nathan's change of words, before raising a finger and pointing it at Nathan.

A second later, Nathan appeared in a forest.

Nathan observed his new environment and noted that it was quiet. A little too quiet for his tastes.

He muttered to himself as he reached for his backpack and took out a metal detector. Well, more like an adamantine detector after Ajuka engineered it to do so.

Nathan walked through the forest with the adamantine detector in front of him, looking for any signs of buildings that once existed.

Finally, after a good 30 minutes of walking, he saw the things that he was looking for. A sign of civilization.

Nathan grinned as he walked forward with his adamantine detector raised in his hand, waving it around in search of said metal.

*Beep! Beep!*

The adamantine detector beeped and started glowing when Nathan waved it through a certain area. After confirming with the detector once more, Nathan reached for his backpack and pulled out a comically large, syringe-looking object.

Nathan lifted the syringe and placed the tip of it over the area that had adamantine, and once he found a good position, he pushed and pulled on the plunger, extracting the adamantine into the barrel.

Nathan smiled in satisfaction as he pulled the syringe back, before having his smile wiped off his face as he looked at the miniscule adamantine stored in the barrel.

'... Once I fill the barrel, I'll have enough for my scythe…? I might not even live long enough for this…''

[That'd take forever.] Kronos agreed with him.

Nathan tried to find some comfort as he said to himself, 'Maybe it's just this ruin. Maybe I can find more in other places.'

Kronos scoffed in his head, [Keep lying to yourself, and perhaps the lie will become truth.]

'Shut up.'

Nathan walked around the ruins for a few more hours, before packing up the adamantine detector and syringe after not finding anymore of said metal.

As Nathan packed up to leave, Kronos sharply said, [Someone's watching us. Act normal, and continue doing what you are doing.]

Nathan controlled his facial expressions to look natural as he said, 'Where?'

[He's behind you. Around 200-300 meters South-east.]

'Does he want to kill me?'

[I don't know. He's not close enough for me to sense his intentions. Just presence.]

'... I can teleport out of here if I have enough time to draw a circle.'

[Start drawing one, but keep your guard up. We'll see if he allows you to do so. I'll tell you if he makes any sudden movements.]

'Alright.'

Nathan got on the ground and injected magic into his fingers as he started drawing a teleportation circle. He kept his guards up to the fullest extent as he continued drawing it, and after a few minutes, he completed the circle.

Nathan instantly injected magic into the circle and activated it, sending him back to Ajuka's lab as he sighed in relief.

'That was weird.'

[Weird indeed.] Kronos agreed with him, [What's the point in stalking someone if you're not going to take any actions?]

'... We do not share the same thought process.' Nathan started unpacking his adamantine-extraction equipment, before grabbing the syringe and putting it in the storage area of Ajuka's lab.

[Won't you take it home? What if it gets stolen?]

'I hope you realize how stupid you are for asking that.'

Where else was safer than a Super Devil's unofficial home?
