AN: Thank you princesselsaamidala22 for your review of the last chapter. I'm glad that you think Rosella is awesome.
Don't forget to check out Rosella's character bio that has been posted to my profile!
I hope everyone enjoys this interlude. I don't really feel like it's one of the better pieces that I've written so far for this story, but it's all I could think of lol. I will have a new episode based chapter out sometime next week so be on the lookout for that.
While Anakin, Obi-Wan and a portion of the 501st are off on Orto Plutonia, having been asked to check out the disappearance of a clone security force that had been stationed on the planet, Rosella has been left at the Temple.
Happy reading!
Interlude: Hanging Out with Ahsoka
Sweat dripped down her face as she angled her blade to the right, deflecting yet another laser back at the training remote. There was no one else in the small training room with the young padawan. As the remote zipped to her left and fired two more lasers in her direction, she quickly turned and deflected them, sending them flying into the wall.
Disengaging her blade, the remote stopped firing and rose up into the air.
Rosella stood there, panting heavily as her lightsaber hilt slipped out of her sweaty hand and clattered to the floor. She couldn't remember the last time she had trained like this. She supposed that she was doing this to better her skills so the next time she went back into battle she would be able to keep herself and her troops safe.
Summoning a towel to her hand with the Force, she proceeded to wipe down her face, arms and hands. Then she called her lightsaber back to her, making sure to clip it to her belt.
She had come down to the training room right after having breakfast in the mess hall with Tabitha, as she wanted to get some lightsaber practice done before she was called back to the front lines.
Then the door slid open behind her.
"Ella?" A voice called from behind her. "How long have you been in here?"
Rosella recognized the voice as she turned around. It belonged to Ahsoka. "Hey," she said, smiling at her friend. "Did you need to use the room?"
"No," Ahsoka said. "But you never did answer my question."
"I came here after breakfast," Rosella told her. "Why?"
"I've been looking for you all morning," the Togruta responded. "Since our masters are off on another mission, I thought we could hang out together."
"Sure," the blond-haired girl responded. "Just let me put away my training remote."
Ahsoka nodded.
Rosella turned around, walked towards the training remote, turned it off with a wave of her hand and put it back where it belonged. Then she headed towards her friend. "Come on," she said. "Let's go eat. It's almost lunchtime anyway."

After eating lunch together, they headed back to the apartment that Rosella shared with Anakin.
When the two girls arrived, Rosella entered the code into the panel and the door slid open. As soon as they entered, letting the door slide shut behind them, Rosella took off her boots, placed them on the mat near the door and walked over to the couch.
Ahsoka looked at her friend as she trailed after her. "No socks?" She asked, trying not to laugh.
Rosella looked down at her feet and saw that she was indeed barefoot. "I must have been in a rush this morning and forgot to put them on," she said as she flopped on the couch. "So, what do you wanna do?"
"I don't know. Is there anything good on the holonet?" Ahsoka asked.
"Let's see what's on," Rosella said, summoning the remote to her hand with the Force. She switched the holonet on and began flipping through the channels until she settled on what looked like an old podrace that was in the final stretches of its first lap. Something fast and yellow raced by on the screen. It caught her eye and she leaned closer to see what it was.
Ahsoka saw it too. When it passed by again at the end of the second lap, the Togruta clearly heard the announcer say that one of the racers, whose name was Sebulba was in the lead and another racer, who went by Skywalker was close behind him. She gasped, thinking that it was Anakin and turned to look at her friend. "Do you think that was…?" She asked.
"I…I'm not sure," Rosella stuttered as she kept her eyes glued to the screen. Dad never told me he was a podracer! She thought to herself. As she remembered the conversation that she and Anakin had after the Malevolence campaign, she realized that her father had never told her how, exactly, he had gotten off Tatooine. All she knew was that Master Jinn had freed him and brought him to the Temple.
Both girls watched the rest of the race and by the time it ended, they were astonished to see that the winner had indeed been Anakin Skywalker.
Is that how Anakin was freed from his service to Watto? The teenager thought to herself as she saw how happy the young version of her father looked. Another thought popped into her mind. I wonder why he didn't tell me. Rosella shook herself from her thoughts as she heard Ahsoka say something. "Sorry, I was lost in my thoughts," she said. "What did you say?"
"What's it like having Master Skywalker as your teacher?" Ahsoka asked as she repeated her question.
"Other than being popular with the younglings in the Temple," Rosella responded, "it's not so bad. He's really nice and kind, not like some of the rumours I heard when we were younglings."
Ahsoka nodded, knowing what Rosella was talking about. Then she glanced at the chrono on the wall, leaping off the couch as she saw the time.
"Soka?" Rosella questioned. "What's up?"
Ahsoka turned around to face her friend, a look of pure panic on her face. "I promised Master Kenobi that I would have my Proper Negotiation Etiquette paper done by the time he got back and I haven't started it yet," she said.
Rosella shook her head playfully at her friend, glad that she didn't have any homework as she had finished it all yesterday after getting back from Maridun, which was the name of the planet that she, Master Secura, her father, Rex and Bly had been stranded on. "Then go do it. I'd hate to be in your shoes right now," she said, trying to hold back her laughter.
Ahsoka gave her a cheeky smile in return and bolted for the door. "See you!" She called over her shoulder as the door slid open and then the Togruta Padawan disappeared from view.
Rosella laughed, turned off the holonet and got up, heading to the kitchen for a snack.
