Chapter 17: Revelation of Hei
Suki PoV
I finished up showing Quin, a little girl from the earth kingdom who lost her parents in a war, how to wield a fan against the enemy. Sokka and his friend, who attacked old people, walk toward me.
"Hey Suki, sorry for the trouble, but we kind of need to ask you about something. Does Kyoshi ever leaves secrets about spirits she encountered?" Sokka said questionably.
"Well, she does pass information about spirits to Oyaji, and Oyaji teaches us about spirits. What do you ask this? You're usually the most skeptical guy I know." I said curiously, Why is Sokka asking about spirits suddenly?
"A spirit has just saved my life, I don't know what it wants from me, I don't know my destiny." Sokka's friend said.
"Maybe the spirit wants you to continue doing good, is your name Jet by the way?" I said questioningly
"Yes, my name is Jet, and can I describe the spirit to you?" Sokka's friend, Jet said in uncertain
"Sure, lay it on me," I said in confidence.
"The spirits were covered in shadows, his presence and some of his features are very similar to Aang, and it seems that he is a ruler of something." Jet said.
"Oyaji told me that there is only one being, who is equal to the Avatar. If you say that his presence is similar to Aang, then I believe that this being is the Spirit Ruler." I said informatively.
"The Spirit Ruler!" The boys yell in surprise.
"Kyoshi talk to this being when she wants to her parents, the ruler lets her. If you meet the Spirit Ruler, then something big will happened to you. I guess you can see we're lucky that we live on the island an Avatar has created or else I will be useless." I said as I was trying to be funny
"Suki, you will never be useless, and if they do call you useless. They will get the full wrath from the boomerang master." Sokka said in an exaggerated tone. I chuckled, Leave it to Sokka to be funny and sweet.
"I guess the Spirit Ruler is a very big deal. I should thank him, the next time I see him. I guess we should be thankful that the Spirit is not evil or want me to be some harbinger of destruction, so I guess you can rest easy now, Sokka." Jet said in a carefree tone
"We still need to be careful with Spirits, maybe we should tell Aang about this. Anyway, you should continue to help war orphans out." Sokka said cautiously
"I guess you're right about that. Anyway, it is nice to officially meet you Suki, and thank you for helping us out with the stuff about spirits." Jet said in a grateful tone as he bows before me.
Just as we finished talking, the Freedom Fighters and Ty lee walk towards us and brought Mai with them.
"Hey Suki, I was wondering if Mai can spend the night with me, she decided to break up with Zuko?" Ty Lee said in a childish tone.
What is with all these people wanted to spend some nights at Kyoshi Island, well luckily, they will probably leave in 2-3 days, so it's not too bad. I'm not sure about Mai, even though she did help us escape, I just don't like her apathetic nature. Maybe I get our news guest helped out with chores while I'm at it.
"I let you guys stay, but you need to help us out with gathering food, cleaning up, and also helping children how to fight," I said in an authoritative tone
"I don't mind helping you guys out if that is what you want me to do. As long as I can spend some time with Ty Lee, maybe it's time I make up to you for defeating you when we try to find the bison. I can find my passion without having politics involve in my life for once, and without Zuko and Azula breathing down my neck." Mai said in a humble tone.
"The Freedom Fighters and I will do whatever you want for letting us stay at your island to hide from Long Feng." Jet said assertively.
"Alright, Freedom fighters I want you to help the farmer with agriculture, and Mai, I want you to help me train the girls how to know knives," I said in the authoritative tone
"Do we have to help farmers?" a little boy with the helmet side said questions
"Yes, The Duke, we have to help the farmers out," said a female with short hair and a headband.
"If only Pipsqueak was here, but of course, he's guarding the Fire Lord's dad." A little boy named Duke said.
The Freedom Fighters move to help the farmers, while Mai went with Ty Lee back to Ty Lee's house.
Katara PoV
In The South Pole
As I was helping Gran Gran out with doing chores, I heard my father shout that they find a boy sleeping in the snow. He looks to be about my age. Water Tribe men dragged him into the center of the South Pole, the boy awaken from his slumber. He looks like us with his blue eyes, long brown hair, and similar skin complexation, but we have never seen him before. He wears a typical earth kingdom outfit.
"Hey, My name is Koda, and I don't know what happened to me and why am I here. The last thing I remember was I was in a cage like a zoo animal because Dai Lee arrested me for some reason. I hope I didn't hurt you guys or something. I keep having voices in my head and my memory is very horrible." The awaken boy has said to my father.
"You didn't hurt anybody if anything you been hurt yourself. Come let us heal you up and get you some better clothes." My father offered the boy.
"Ok, do you know where Master Katara is? I heard that she helped end the war. I want to be her student because she can help me control my power." Koda said anxiously, It looks like he struggling with something, I want to him because I feel like the war must have damaged him somehow.
"You can just call me Katara, and I don't mind being your teacher. For now, you should just rest." I spoke
"Thank you so much, I will be the best student I can be, and I will help the South Water Tribe with whatever I can." Koda bowed with respect
I use my healing hands to heal some rounds, these wound looks like they came from earthbenders. I guess he's not lying about the Dai Lee controlling Ba Sing Se again. I hope Aang and Toph got out of there because now it seems Long Feng is back in control now. I'm glad that Koda somehow escapes them, which is an accomplishment by itself. Perhaps Koda does have the same potential that I have for water bending, he just needs a good teacher to harness it.
My father took him into the hut to get him some new clothes. Look like I may have a journey to myself about being a water-bending teacher. It's not every day, a random person comes out of nowhere and asks to be their teacher.
