Kingdom Hearts
Ch. 79
Agrabah
Combatants Ready
Outside, the city of Agrabah was finally getting under control. The citizens managed to fend off the now dwindling numbers of heartless. The fires were being put off successfully using the peoples remarkable ability to manifest water. People of all classes came together to save their homes using their own bowls and jars to materialize water. Many brave souls threw their jars of water on top of the fires quelling the destruction brought on by the flames.
For those citizens who weren't preoccupied with the fire watched in amazement as the Genie broadcasted the battle of Jafar and the Immortals vs Sora and the Disney gang. He began to comment on the fights like a sports caster during Sunday night football. He wore a blue suit with a full head of hair speaking directly into a microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen, you are witnessing the beginning of a new era. The long anticipated battle finally is commencing. As we speak the strangers of the desert are combating the Immortals at an effective rate. On the screen to the far right we have the battle between Kurt and Goofy." He pointed to the far right screen displaying the two fight in the courtyard.
The Swordsman Kurt followed Goofy down to the courtyard where they continued to clash. Goofy was on the defensive while Kurt attacked on the offensive. Goofy used his shield to block every strike Kurt thrusted.
"These are both bodyguards for the masters they serve. A guardian and a warrior fighting for their ruler's honor. The Guardians name is Goofy who plans to use his mighty shield to force the followers of Jafar out of Agrabah forever. Using his skills and weapon he can easily block any attack Kurt gives him. But the tricky part is how is he supposed to counter. Guardians are their most vulnerable when taking on the offensive. But will Goofy give Kurt that chance?"
He then pointed to the screen next to Goofy's showing Donald's fight. "Now on the very left we have two mages squaring off in an honorable duel between wizards. The Magician Donald Duck and Immortal Zisa. Mage fights are more about brains over brawn. Battle outcomes are decided by whoever is the most cunning or creative. Now watch as the two attempt to outwit each other."
On the screen it displayed the two duel each other in midair. Zisa had casted an anti- gravity spell inhibiting the law of gravity from the surrounding area. Donald found himself levitating in the air around a large space under the throne room. Underneath him was a gaping pit that led to the bottom of the Palace. "Whoa I can fly," he said flapping his arms like he had wings. He tossed and turned until he was able to face Zisa who was waiting for him. Zisa floated over the pit effortlessly. Donald brought out his staff and demanded a fight. "You think I'm scared of a snake like you."
Zisa hissed smiling at his prey. Donald and Zisa kept floating in the air as they engaged in a magic duel casting spells at each other.
Back with the Genie he pointed to the screen to the far left. The screens depicted the fight between Tarzan and Dust. He shouted with much enthusiasm, "Now here we have two hand to hand fighters duking it out. A battle of the sexes. One comes with brute force and power. The other fights with technical prowess and flexibility." On the screen the shattered floor crashed down through the Palace leading into the lower underground floors. Tarzan managed to grab a wooden plank stretching out from the wall on the lowest level. He grabbed it with one arm thrusting his body under the plank as the debris crashed to the ground below. The destruction caused an uplift of dust to rise in the air.
Tarzan coughed covering his eyes from the cloud of dust lifting into the air. He looked down trying to locate his foe, but the smoke staggered his vision. The smoke cleared revealing the damaged they caused. He looked around seeing the debris had demolished the entire area. Dust's hand appeared behind the shattered rock grabbing hold of a piece of broken marble. She climbed on top of the marble standing on it. She looked up to Tarzan. Her veil still hid her face to the ape man.
Tarzan glared back intently. He reached in his coat pocket grasping his spear with his free hand. He raised it in the air while hanging from the plank. It retracted revealing its full size. He snarled at her from above. Though he couldn't tell if Dust was smiling or frowning. Tarzan howled like a proud animal and jumped from the wooden pole flying towards her like a hawk ambushing its prey. Dust bent down getting ready to fight.
The Genie was still narrating the whole event. Giving excerpts on the fight, "I guess fighting woman isn't beneath the ape man Tarzan. But enough of these side shows, as you pay attention to the final screen you can see the true hero of this struggle Sora duking it out with the demons Jafar sent after them." The screen showed Sora and Aladdin fighting off the shadows of the original Kurt and Zisa.
Sora kicked the shadow mage pushing it back. "You like that. I've got an even more painful move to show you," Sora bragged to the shadow mage.
In the heat of the moment Aladdin managed to cut the jackal mask of the original Kurt. It stepped back feeling the cut on its mask with its index finger. Aladdin felt a bit more confident after landing a blow. His enemy already managed to cut him a few times decorating his skin with scares on his arms and chest. Aladdin held his ground as the shadow Kurt pulled off the Jackal mask revealing its true face. He looked in horror to see its face had withered to nothing but skin and bones. It had no eyes or lips or nose. Just a skeleton head. It's dark holes for eyes stared right through him. Almost like it was involuntarily asking for Aladdin to put it out of its misery. Aladdin cringed, "Jafar what have you created?" It looked back at him like a wounded animal raising its sword again.
Far away Jasmine was running through the Palace. She ran taking every turn in front of her. Jasmine eventually found stairs and headed up to the top floor. She felt a dark presence follow her as she ran. Jasmine made her way to the top floor coming upon a giant oval room with support pillars built into the ceiling and floor. She looked around to see murals and paintings decorate the walls. The paintings were stylized writings and grammar.
She realized where she was. Jasmine had come to the attic of the Palace inside the Oval top. "Jasmine," she heard someone call behind her. She jumped up and turned around seeing no one was there. Her spine shivered. She stepped back slowly. Her dark skin developed goosebumps. She walked backwards before walking into something. She felt fabric over a long torso.
"Eeeeh!" Jasmine jumped up in fright with her knees almost giving way. The bitter man was looking at her with a fed up expression. She saw his staff was glowing as darkness poured out of his body like a smoke machine. "Now let's finish this."
Jafar lifted his arm up in the arm preparing to end her with one magic spell. The staff caught on fire as Jafar sounded, "Firaga." He aimed his staff at her with little warning. Jasmine tried to run away towards the stairs in desperation as she felt the heat close in. Jasmine tried to escape but as she ran towards the stairs several heartless appeared blocking the exit. Jasmine's heart erupted over the situation she was in. Behind her Jafar readied his attack. The flame fired at her lighting up the room. Jasmine dodged rolled to the side nearly missing the fire that could engulf her body.
She came too finding that her hair and right arm had been burnt. Jasmine screamed in pain clasping her injured arm with her good hand. Tears swelled up when she tried to deal with the pain. Jafar slowly walked towards her attempting to subdue the princess. But he stopped like something hit him over the head. As he watched her helpless on the ground it dawned on him. "The Princess of Heart. Though she can feel fear and distress. She can't hate. No matter what." Jafar was reminded of his mission. Thinking to what will become of him if something happens to her. Maleficent would end him.
"This world is insignificant and meaningless. We are too good for it. We are beyond this world. Now it's time for us to say goodbye." Jafar tapped the ground with his staff causing a dark portal to appear. "It's time to go. This world will be gone soon. We need to escape." He got close to Jasmine and reached out his hand like he was helping an injured dog.
She looked at him in fear. Her arm was scarred. Her face was bruised. Her feet were worn out from all the running. She tried to crawl away but couldn't escape because she was too weak. Jafar gave an emotionless expression off his face as he thought, "This world will soon be behind me." His hand crept closer grabbing her legs lifting them up. Jasmine screamed as loud as she could. Jafar pulled on her ankle dragging her closer to him. Jasmine desperate dug her fingers into the marble floor. She felt like she was in some kind of nightmare. A nightmare where she couldn't escape the monster chasing her.
"Noooo!" she pleaded struggling to break free. Her body was so worn out and exhausted she could only squirm. Jafar picked her over his shoulders carrying her away. Jafar just not caring about anything anymore walked quickly towards the portal.
He smiled seeing the portal to his future. Jasmine turned her head seeing the portal as well. It was like an endless abyss of terror. She screamed louder trying to get away, but she was to exhausted to fight. She could barely move her limbs let alone body. "No please I don't want to go. Stop. Don't!" she begged banging her fists against Jafar's back.
But Jafar just dealt with it smiling as he imagined the future a life free of worry or powerlessness. They inched closer to the portal before Jafar could hear a loud thump come from below them. Jafar felt a dangerous presence right under him. He looked in the direction of the portal only to see someone bust a hole through the marble floor between Jafar and the portal.
A magic fire spell that was shot up through the floor at a 45-degree angle. It hit the ceiling creating another hole allowing more light to enter the room. Jafar became irritated looking down through the hole seeing the throne room beneath them. He saw that the magic blast was caused by Sora redirecting the shadow Zisa's attack. Sora's leg kicked up the shadow mages hand redirecting it upward. Sora slammed his legs down before thrusting his keyblade into the shadow mages chest. He cried out, "Key Thrust."
The Keyblade hit Sora's enemy with a large amount of force. The fat enemy was launched back far towards the balcony smashed into the railing. It fell off the balcony falling down towards the courtyard. It crashed down onto the fountain with pieces of the railing close to where Goofy and Kurt were fighting. Its shadow body evaporated in the water having darkness float away in the air. The only thing left were a bundle of bones floating in the water.
Jafar almost spit blood seeing what transpired. He stared at Sora with such contempt. The young keyblade wielder was looking towards the ground before raising his head up locking eyes with Jafar. His white cloak was a bit tattered but retained its soft white color. The two shared a moment of silence before Sora grunted at his foe.
