Chapter 15M
May looked forwards at the rooms she had to face. Strength to the left, One Hit KO on the right. She initially tried to strategize, but realized it would be pointless. After all, Brendan had the same rooms, so it was just a matter of which direction. Answering the question of which way, Brendan pointed right, before heading that direction. May quickly moved through the door, and found herself staring at a person standing in the middle of the room. He looked pretty much the same as the other two ace trainers, and she just grabbed the Radot pokeballs. The trainer opposing her introduced himself as Berke, then threw out a Zangoose. May threw out (M)Radot, then got ready for combat.
First off, May held out three fingers for a quick absorb. (M)Radot quickly reacted with the proper move, draining Zangoose's health, although it did nothing to heal. However, a powerful Fury Cutter sent (M)Radot into the wall, leaving it with barely any hp left. Knowing that the next strike was likely to take out (M)Radot, May chose Absorb. (M)Radot got up, and drained Zangoose of a lot of health, signalling a crit. Seconds later, Zangoose swiped at (M)Radot. However, (M)Radot was able to avoid it.
May sighed in relief that the strike missed. The fingers stayed out, signalling to keep using Absorb. More green orbs of draining flowed out of Zangoose, and this time, it even got launched back. The happiness was short-lived though, as Zangoose then rushed forwards and delivered a Scratch directly to (M)Radot's shell. The absorbed health didn't stop (M)Radot from fainting from that strike, and he collapsed to the ground. Forgetting the link, May ran over to (M)Radot, and as she fell, she realized her mistake. Fortunately, Brendan was quick enough to keep himself as well as May upright, and the two got to their respective pokemon. May realized, with a shock, that when (M)Radot had fainted, (B)Radot did so too despite not having been attacked. May comforted the fainted pokemon, then withdrew them. She stepped back as Brendan released the Treekips, ready to get revenge.
May decided to try and get the first strike, and held out four fingers. (M)Treekip rushed forwards and delivered a quick blow, then took a leer. As (M)Treekip got up, May decided that Leer was the only choice. (M)Treekip tried to leer, but got slammed by a Quick Attack. (M)Treekip staggered back, then knelt down. Zangoose knelt down similarly, then both collapsed. May could see the swirled eyes, and knew that (M)Treekip had fainted. Berke thought for a second, then announced his verdict.
"Your pokemon fainted last. The winner is you, challenger. Congrats!"
May collapsed, well aware at how close she and Brendan had come to losing. She weakly smiled, then let Brendan recall the pokemon. She got to her feet, then walked off to heal.
Authors note: As I will mention in Brendan's side, we aren't losing just yet.
