Galaxy Team
Professor Laventon stroked the bottom of his chin in a thoughtful fashion. The mysterious stranger that had fallen from the sky couldn't even remember his name nor where he came from and his attire was quite unusual, nothing he'd seen during his travels matched with what the boy wore. He appeared to be the same age as Akari and Rei so it was possible that he was old enough to care for himself but the Professor couldn't just leave him without a place to call home. Although some progress was being made on forging bonds between man and Pokemon, a majority of the wild Pokemon tend to attack and even kill humans on a regular basis during this time period. And without a place to stay or even a Pokemon to call his own, he doubted that he'd last long which was a shame. There weren't many people that age range in town anymore as they either disappeared gathering supplies or went out to try and catch Pokemon which ended with some rather upsetting results, which only made the older individuals in town more fearful and even resentful of Pokemon!
The Professor's eyes then widened as he realized that he'd forgotten about Cyndaquil, Rowlet and Oshawott in his haste to check on the fallen stranger. "Do you know what a Pokemon is by chance?" He questioned.
"Of course I do!" Zach responded. Arceus didn't completely wipe his mind, he was sure to leave the essential bits in so he could properly interact with the Hisuian people. "Doesn't everybody?"
"Well that's a relief, saves me from having to explain that." Professor Laventon laughed before taking note of a strange object that sat by Zach's foot. "I say, is that yours?"
"I-I think so?" Zach leaned forward to pick the device up and nearly dropped it to the ground as it spoke out to him!
"Hello Zach!"
"Gah, it talked!"
"Zach, eh? Well if that strange device really belongs to you then I reckon the name fits, sure never heard of a stranger with that name!" Laventon chuckled before quickly changing the subject as they couldn't ignore the situation any longer. Zach's stomach soon rumbled loudly as he hadn't eaten in quite some time. "Well if you're hungry, I might be able to help you out! Unfortunately I must ask for a favor from you and one that can't wait! You see I have three Pokemon that I keep on hand for research purposes but due to circumstances outside of my control, the Poke Balls broke and I was trying to catch them when you fell but it seems my aim is just not what it used to be. I guess not doing so for years doesn't help!" He laughed before pulling out some ancient looking Poke Balls.
Zach's eyes widened as he recalled seeing one before, he just couldn't remember where. "Well if you need help then I'm more than willing to help out, I don't think I have any money on me." Zach instinctively felt where he kept his money but nothing was there, he patted his hands along every pocket he could find but no dice he was broke as the modern money was left behind in the present along with his Pokemon! "Yeah, I don't. B-But I don't want hand outs, I'll help you find your Pokemon and catch them for you."
"Why thank you Zach, that's mighty kind of you." Professor Laventon smiled before proceeding to explain how to throw a Pokeball to him along with describing Rowlet, Cyndaquil and Oshawott in detail for him. "Rowlet, that's the owl, can apparently photosynthesize like a plant and apparently it battles using its sharp feathers. That one over there with the flame on his back is Cyndaquil, the fire will burn on their back whenever they're surprised or irate. And finally that one over there is Oshawott, they like to nap while floating on water and can battle using the shell-like object on their bellies! Now you remember the throwing technique I showed ya?"
"Of course," Zach nodded in response while turning his gaze towards Oshawott as the otter was closest to him. Something inside of him told him that this wasn't the right way to do this but he pushed those feelings aside as how would he know better? Laventon said they were a recent invention! He pulled back his arm and threw the ball towards Oshawott, Oshawott's body shrank and was absorbed into the Pokeball as it opened up. The ball hit the ground before crackling like a fire cracker as it indicated the capture was complete! 'See? It worked!' He told himself.
Laventon's eyes widened as he watched Zach flawlessly throw the ball at Oshawott, the Professor rubbed his eyes as he wondered if he saw things correctly before his thoughts were confirmed as Zach silently crept towards Cyndaquil before throwing a ball at the fire mouse as it sunbathed atop a rock. Cyndaquil disappeared into the ball before it sounded off like a fire cracker!
'My stars, it's as if he's been catching Pokemon for months!' Professor Laventon thought to himself before stroking his chin once more as he looked Zach up and down, he didn't appear to have any Pokemon on him leading the Professor to assume otherwise.
The third Pokeball was flung up towards a tree branch where Rowlet had chosen to take a nap, the owl was sucked into the ball before it crackled out to indicate that Rowlet had been captured as well! Zach gathered up the final Poke Ball before making his way back towards the Professor. "Here ya go!" Zach held out the three Poke Balls in offering to the Professor who stood in shock for a brief moment.
"Thank you very much indeed, it's a relief to have them all back! I dare say it's quite peculiar you have a gift for catching Pokemon seeing how Poke Balls were only invented recently." Professor Laventon pondered once more. "Perhaps they already invented them wherever you're from and the rest of us are just now catching up? Well regardless of the case I must thank you. Now how about we get to the village and get you some food along with some proper clothes, I'm afraid that those clothes are ruined beyond repair."
Zach's jacket and pants had gotten torn up from both the Unown's attack and getting dropped! Arceus may have protected him from injury but his clothes weren't so lucky and given how unique his clothing was compared to the average Hisuian, there likely wasn't anyone around who could stitch it up for him. "I guess you're right, it sort of looks like something attacked me..."
"And without a Pokemon of your own you were left helpless!" Laventon theorized as things were starting to make sense to him although he wasn't anywhere close to the truth.
"I guess?" Zach spoke before going red as his stomach rumbled louder than before.
Laventon laughed. "Well seeing how you're hungry I think it best we hurry back!"
"Thank you for your tireless work keeping us safe, my good guardsmen!" Professor Laventon smiled at a pair of guards that stood outside the city gates before gesturing towards Zach. "This young man helped me and my Pokemon out with a problem so I hope you'll forgive me for bringing him into our village for a bit."
The guards gave each other a swift glance before quietly nodding in response, allowing for the two to pass through. As they walked into town Zach saw a lot of people walking around without a single Pokemon in sight! He tilted his head as something inside of him was telling him that this was a strange sight but he pushed those feelings aside and waved at the villagers, most of which were looking directly at him on account of his strange attire.
"Whose that stranger?"
"I don't know, he sure doesn't look like he's from these parts!"
"He's lucky to be alive if you ask me, too many youngsters are foolishly getting themselves killed these days! We'll be extinct if we keep this up!" A bitter old man scowled as Zach passed by.
"Welcome to Jubilife Village!" Laventon grinned while extending his arms. "It's come a long way thanks to the help of the Galaxy Expedition Team!"
"Who are they?" Zach questioned while his eyes continued looking around the area.
Laventon pointed towards a large impressive looking building that towered over the other buildings. "They call the Galaxy Hall their home and-Oh blast it! I forgot I need to report that I retrieved the missing Pokemon!" Laventon turned back towards Zach. "Can you wait at the canteen while I do that? It's just past this bridge here and to the left, it'd be the one called 'The Wallflower'."
"Wallflower? Yeah sure, I can do that!"
"Great, I'll be back in a few." Laventon raced towards Galaxy Hall while Zach began making his way towards the Wallflower canteen and upon reaching it an older man began looking him over with a rather stern look before shaking his head with a look of disgust.
"Wallflower's for Galaxy Team folk only, no outsiders allowed! Move along!"
"But-"
"Beat it!" The man shouted before turning his back to him as he walked into the canteen.
Zach lowered his head as his stomach began repeatedly rumbling in a loud fashion, drowning out the sound of approaching footsteps.
"Who are you? I've never seen anyone dressed the way you are. If a Pokemon attacked you, you'd be mince meat in those flimsy garments!"
Zach turned around and felt a sudden warm sensation flowing through him as his eyes landed upon an individual whose appearance was strikingly familiar to Dawn though instead of the modern day attire, the blue hair girl wore attire more appropriate for the era. She wore a set of blue robes which had the same yellow insignia that was present upon Galaxy Hall while a white bandanna covered up the top of her long blue hair. Arceus may have given him amnesia but he didn't remove Zach's love and attraction for Dawn! 'She seems extremely familiar, it's almost as if I know her! But that's impossible, she doesn't appear to know who I am!' "Well I don't exactly remember what happened but that's what we're assuming happened based on the holes!"
The girl looked him over while tilting her head which triggered more senses of familiarity to flow through him. "Well if the guards let you in then you must have ties to somebody in the village, perhaps Professor Laventon?"
"Yep, that's the one! I helped him round up Rowlet, Oshawott and... Cyndaquil was it?" Zach questioned himself before quickly returning to the subject at hand. "The three broke free of their Poke Balls and the Professor was having a hard time catching them before I came along and caught them for him!"
"H-Hold up, you caught Pokemon?!" The girl's eyes widened while respect and a bit of admiration shined in her eye. It was definitely quite the impressive feat as few managed to successfully capture one Pokemon let alone a second one, then this guy comes along and captures three?
"Yeah, I did." Zach tilted his head as he wondered why people were making such a big deal about it, it seemed easy to him!
The girl lowered her head. "I wish I had your luck, I tried capturing a Pokemon and was struck by a move called Thunder Shock which left me bed ridden for days!"
"Now now Akari don't be so glum, perhaps Zach here will help give you some pointers!" Laventon exclaimed as he made his return.
"Zach's your name? You really aren't from around these parts then." Akari noted before extending her hand in greeting. "Well about how about some proper introductions then? The name's Akari!"
"Akari? That's a nice name... pleasure to meet you, Akari!" Zach shook her hand as they shared a brief smile before turning their attention back towards Laventon as he spoke out.
"And Zach fret no longer for I've fixed your lodging problem! I believe that you're precisely the sort of individual that the Galaxy Expedition Team needs to improve Pokemon and human relations so I've taken the liberty of enlisting you, they provide free lodging and food for all members so you won't have to worry about any of that!"
"What?! Professor I won't deny that's quite an incredible feat but you can't slap a badge on whoever you like without Captain Cyllene's permission!" Akari puffed her cheeks while delivering a glare towards the Professor causing more senses of familiarity to flow through Zach.
'Why does she look so familiar..?'
"I'll allow it." Cyrus' hair had grown out during his stay and he decided to use that to his advantage, combing and trimming it himself while also tying some fruit around the upper half of his chest in order to pass himself off as a woman. Given he reused the name thousands of years into the future, he felt it best not to have his true name linked to the cause as that might cause some time space disruption if he were to find out that he got stuck in the past at some point in the future! Cyrus didn't want to merely cause disruption, he wanted to control it so he could rule his own world! A world of his own making!
"Captain Cyllene?!" Akari exclaimed while Professor Laventon's cheeks turned red as he turned to face Cyllene. Zach noticed the look on the Professor's face and tilted his head as he looked at Cyllene before shrugging as he didn't get the attraction.
"Assuming he can actively contribute to the Survey Corps, we can't have anymore freeloaders." Cyllene held her hands behind her back, a signature move of Cyrus'. "I am the captain of the Galaxy Team's Survey Corps. You may call me Cyllene." 'I see another individual from my time has made their way here, he doesn't appear to be smart enough nor corrupt enough to pull what I did though. Wonder if Celebi abducted another innocent being and tossed him here.'
"Professor Laventon has told me how you helped secure his Pokemon when they slipped his control." She continued while Laventon nervously rubbed the back of his neck. "And now it seems he would like us to feed and house you in exchange for your ongoing labor. You look... seventeen or eighteen, quite old enough to work but we can't simply take on a stranger who wanders in among us without any idea of their skills or origins. Tomorrow we shall see if you can prove yourself worthy."
"Oho! A most reasonable decision, Captain!" Laventon's cheeks continued to glow bright red. "Now, would you care to join us for a meal? I'm sure that you've got plenty of questions for our visitor!" Sure Zach wouldn't be able to answer any but she didn't need to know that!"
"No, that's quite all right. I prefer eating alone so I can appreciate my meals without distraction." Cyllene spoke before taking her leave.
Laventon gazed after her with a saddened expression. "Aloof as always... well no matter!" His attitude quickly changed as he turned to Zach and Akari with a bright smile. "The rest of us can share a meal and some pleasant conversation then eh?"
The Professor clasped his hands together as he shouted out to the very same chef that passed Zach off earlier. "Beni, old chum! The usual potato mochi if you please, but make it for three today!"
"Wonderful stuff Beni, your potato mochi never fails to please me!" Beni offered Laventon an appreciative smile before taking his leave to service another Galaxy Team member.
"So Professor, I know some of the details now but some pieces are still missing. Where exactly did you meet our friend here?" Akari asked.
"Ah well you know the great hole in the sky? The one people call the space-time rift? Zach fell right out of it!"
"What? You can't be serious." Akari narrowed her eyes as she found that hard to believe.
"Come now, I'm a scientist! My job is to observe and explain any and all phenomena! I concern myself only with facts!" Professor Laventon informed while insisting that he was telling the truth.
"It's true, I don't exactly remember where I came from but if I were to guess I probably got amnesia when my head struck against the ground."
"Well that would explain that," Akari noted before turning her gaze towards the distant mountain. "Though we still don't know how he fell out of that hole."
"That question isn't important right now," Laventon laughed. "For now we must focus on Zach's upcoming trial!"
"Hopefully he passes..." Akari gave Zach a look of concern as she feared what would happen if he didn't.
"Not to worry, I have complete confidence in his skills!" Laventon exclaimed.
"Let's hope it isn't misplaced then," Cyllene spoke as she returned. "Zach was it? For tonight we will provide you a place to sleep but if you fail to pass the trial tomorrow, you must move on. You will be expelled from the village to meet your fate, and likely your death, in the wilds."
Zach and Akari gulped at Cyllene's ultimatum while Laventon frowned. Just because he had feelings for her didn't mean that he agreed with her on everything, there had to be a way he could help give Zach an edge! After all if he hadn't come along, Laventon himself would have likely gotten kicked out for losing the Pokemon! Cyllene walked off without a further word.
"Captain Cyllene's somewhat like Hisui, they're both quite harsh!" Akari leered after Cyllene as she walked away.
"Now now, she simply puts on a stern front to help keep us all safe." Laventon explained before offering the two one final smile as he bid them goodnight. "Well good night, you'll have to get up bright and early for your trial tomorrow so I suggest that you get plenty of sleep!"
"Yes, good night." Akari offered Zach a smile of her own as she began heading off towards her own dorm.
"Good night you two," Zach smiled to himself as he watched them head off while feeling quite thankful that despite his memory problems, he managed to make some great friends! He just hoped that he'd still have them after tomorrow as it sounded like he'd have a hard time without a Pokemon of his own.
Zach tossed and turned in his sleep as a fierce lightning bolt struck somewhere outside the village overnight, his dream consisted of him endlessly falling which he only snapped out of when Akari knocked upon his door. "Good morning Zach, you awake? Quite some lightning last night wasn't it? Today's the day of your trial so er... let's give it our all!" Zach stood up and stretched out with a light yawn before heading to the door, not having to bother getting changed as he only had one change of clothes so far.
"Morning Akari!"
"Morning Zach, I hope you had a good sl-" Akari turned towards him only to go silent as she noticed the familiar signs that followed a nightmare. She placed her hand atop his shoulder in a comforting manner and offered him a warm smile before flickering her gaze towards Galaxy Hall. "Well today's the day so we best get moving, Cyllene is waiting for you."
"Right, can't keep her waiting..." Zach scowled at the mention of Cyllene before walking alongside Akari as the two made their way towards Galaxy Hall.
As they entered the building a man could be heard screaming from within the building's infirmary causing Akari to give it a nervous glance. "That man has a Pokemon and he still ended up there, I fear for what will happen to you out there without a Pokemon of your own." Him being new to the area sure didn't help her concern.
"No need to worry, I'll be fine." Zach thought otherwise as he spoke those words but forced a smile to his face as he tried reassuring Akari. "Don't worry about me."
Akari smiled lightly before motioning towards the office that stood ahead. "That is Captain Cyllene's office up ahead. Cyllene? Zach is-"
"I know, I can see and hear you." Cyllene scowled as she put down a piece of paper. "You may enter."
Zach and Akari entered her office without uttering a word as Cyllene stood to her feet, hands behind her back once more. "Let us get straight to it. If you wish to join the Galaxy Expedition Team, prove yourself capable by going out into the Obsidian Fieldlands and catch three different species of Pokemon: Wurmple, Bidoof and Shinx."
"Three Pokemon from the start?! That's not fair, no one in the Galaxy Team has ever managed that!" Akari shouted out in Zach's defense.
"Didn't the Professor say that he caught three Pokemon yesterday? This trial should be simple enough for him, if the Professor wasn't exaggerating." Cyllene responded in a cold fashion.
"But-"
"Akari it's fine, no harm in trying to pull it off!"
"Yes but if you fail you'll die!" Akari hissed out.
"Akari." Cyllene spoke up causing the girl to jump up. "For your outburst, you're to go with him and catch yourself a Pokemon of your own or else you'll meet the same fate as him. The Galaxy Team does not have the means to provide for those who take without giving, if the two of you wish to stay you must prove beyond any doubt that you'll be an asset to our cause." Cyllene proceeded to step forward as she held out a satchel. "Zach, I will lend you one of our Survey Corps satchels to carry whatever you may need in the field."
Akari gave the satchel a look before eyeing his torn modern outfit. It didn't exactly match the rest of his clothing.
"Now get going." She dismissed them.
"Pardon me Zach but I'd like for you to follow me to my lab." Professor Laventon waved at the pair as they left Cyllene's office. Zach and Akari gave each other a look before following him towards his laboratory. "Now then, a jolly good morning!"
"Something up, Professor? Nothing's wrong is it?" Zach questioned.
"Oh no, not at all boy! It's just that you'll need a Pokemon of your own if you're to succeed the task that Cyllene set up for you and I've got the answer to your problem!" Laventon released the three Pokemon that Zach had captured the day prior causing them to burst out before him and Akari, the three Pokemon excitedly cried out while looking up towards Zach with hopeful expressions. "Go on Zach, pick the starter that strikes your fancy! With it you'll be able to fight off the Pokemon residing outside the village!"
Zach's eyes immediately locked onto Cyndaquil, his hands began reaching out to grab him before he suddenly paused as his eyes shifted towards Rowlet. "Rowlet!"
"An excellent choice, now here are some empty Pokeballs so you can catch them!" Laventon opened Zach's satchel and dumped a sizeable amount of Pokeballs into it. "I don't believe I have to explain how they work!" He laughed.
Rowlet let out an excitable coo as he flew up onto Zach's shoulder before nuzzling against him. Akari uttered out a light giggle in response to Rowlet's cute gesture.
"Now Zach I trust that you'll take good care of Akari out there and help teach her how to catch a Pokemon?" Laventon questioned.
"Of course Professor, she's my friend! I'm not going to let her down!" Akari smiled at Zach's words before nodding towards the door.
"Shall we? We best head off now if we're to find ourselves four Pokemon by nightfall!"
"Right you are, see ya Professor!"
"Quil!"
"Osha!" Cyndaquil and Oshawott waved after Rowlet and Zach.
"Good luck you two!" Professor Laventon grinned as he waved after them while Cyllene silently scowled before taking a seat once more.
"The exit's to the left and down the road," Akari grinned as they stepped foot outside, she pointed towards the distant gate before looking back at her new friend. "Follow me!"
The two hastily made their way towards the town's exit before they were stopped by a man who could easily pass himself off as Cynthia's brother, he appeared to be a merchant of some sort based on his attire. The man took one look at them before widening his eyes upon spotting the strange getup that Zach was wearing.
"Oh? What a curious getup you have there, I can already tell you're quite the character!" The man stepped forward to introduce himself while offering a smile. "I'm Volo of the Ginkgo Guild, the go-to choice for any of your mercantile needs here in Hisui!"
"Hey Volo," Akari spoke, the two appearing to have met at some point.
"Pleasure to meet you, Volo. The name's Zach!" Zach gave the merchant a friendly wave.
"Zach eh? Ah, you're the one that fell from the space-time rift then! Now that's a tale I'd certainly like to hear, if you could remember it..." Volo glanced towards Rowlet and seemed a bit startled. "You haven't been here a day and you already have a Pokemon?! You're certainly full of surprises. Investigating the odd and novel is key to any good merchant's success so what do you say? How about you and I see how our Pokemon stand up to one another in battle?"
"I'm not sure that's a good idea, we're on a bit of a deadline here." Akari spoke while looking towards Zach with a concerned expression.
"No need to worry Akari, getting in some experience for Rowlet will surely help the odds! Besides at least this Pokemon won't be trying to kill us!" Zach smirked while turning towards Rowlet. "What do you think? You up for this?"
"Hoooot!" Rowlet stretched out his wings as he appeared eager to battle!
"Oh I like you better and better, what a delightful find!" Volo excitedly cried out as he grabbed hold of a ball before throwing it forward. "Togepi let's go!"
"Togepriiii!" The baby egg Pokemon cried out as it burst from the ball.
"So uh, what moves does Rowlet know?" Zach questioned Akari.
"Right now? Only Tackle, the Pokemon weren't that experienced." She informed with a quick shake of her head.
"Well alright then, Rowlet use Tackle!"
"Hooot!" Rowlet swooped across the field and tackled Togepi, knocking the egg Pokemon on it's back where it struggled to get back up on account on it's short legs and hands! Both trainers patiently waited for Togepi to get back up before continuing the battle.
"Togepi use Tackle!"
"Rowlet fly up!"
"Hm?" Akari gave Zach a questioning look while Zach seemed a bit surprised at his command as well, it just instinctively came out!
"Hooot!" Rowlet took off into the air, avoiding Togepi's attack with ease!
"Huh." Volo noted. "Never thought of doing that before."
"Now use Tackle once more!"
"Hooot!" Rowlet dived down and slammed his body against Togepi causing the egg Pokemon to cry out as it was knocked over once more before coming to a halt as swirls formed within it's eyes.
"Priii..."
Volo returned the defeated Togepi with an unreadable expression before a large smile formed as he turned to face the two young adults. "It's always good fun to have your Pokemon do battle, don't you think?"
"O-Of course, it was an amazing experience!" Zach exclaimed with an excited expression. 'Maybe I do this for a living? I seemed familiar with it.'
"But unfortunately few people have Pokemon of their own, not everyone knows how to properly use Pokeballs." Volo frowned for a moment before smiling once more as he retrieved some Potions from his bag and held them out in offering. "Here, I believe you'll need these. They'll heal up your Pokemon when they're worn out, I do hope you're successful in your trial. More Galaxy Team members means more customers for yours truly after all!" Volo laughed before turning to take his leave.
Akari turned to Zach as he put away the Potions. "That's really something, not only can you catch Pokemon but you can lead them in battle as well!" She gave him an impressive look before gesturing with her hand. "Anyways we should get going to the Obsidian Fieldlands!"
"Wow it sure is beautiful here!" Zach couldn't help but blurt out as he and Akari stood over a hilltop overlooking the Obsidian Fieldlands, miles upon miles of land untouched by man stood as far as the eye could see! A large variety of Pokemon could be seen roaming about, primarily Starly and Bidoof but other Pokemon such as Wurmple could be seen.
"Beautiful and dangerous," Akari shook while edging closer to him as she recalled her previous encounter in the Wildlands, she was lucky that all Shinx did was Paralyze her as she easily could have been killed! She then shook her head to clear her thoughts as she caught sight of a Wurmple, she quickly tapped Zach's shoulder to get his attention before pointing towards the worm Pokemon. "See that red bug Pokemon over there? That's a Wurmple."
"Is it? Well then I know what to do, stay here." Zach crouched down as he began making his way towards Wurmple, the bug unaware of his presence as it was busy eating away at an Oran berry. Zach reached for an empty Pokeball and pulled back his arm before giving it a good throw, the ball soared across the field before smacking the back of Wurmple's head! Wurmple soon began to shrink as he was sucked into the Pokeball which hit the ground and started to shake before crackling off to signal the capture complete!
"Alright Zach, one down two to go!" Akari cheered.
Zach picked up the ball and pocketed it while offering Akari an appreciative smile. "Thanks Akari, it looks like there's another Wurmple over there. Wanna make that your capture?"
"Oh no, nonono!" Akari's eyes widened as she hastily waved her hands in front of her. "I-I don't think I'm ready just yet! M-Maybe after we find Bidoof or S-Shinx?"
Zach saw the look in Akari's eyes and could easily tell that she was still traumatized by something paralyzing her, perhaps a bit more time in the wildlands will help calm her down? If it came down to it, he'd just capture something for her and lie to Cyllene that Akari did it herself! He placed his hand on Akari's shoulder and offered her a comforting smile before motioning further down the trail. "Come on, we've got some ground to cover!"
"That's a Bidoof," Akari pointed out as they approached a river bed, a Bidoof could be seen gnawing on wood to help with the construction of a nearby Bidoof den. "They're not that powerful so it should be rather easy for-" Akari went silent as she watched Zach hurl a ball at Bidoof, the beaver Pokemon shrank as he was sucked into the ball but he didn't stay there for long as he quickly burst back out!
"Wait what?" Zach blinked while visible confusion filled his face.
"You have to weaken most Pokemon before they'll join you," Akari informed him while glancing towards Rowlet who remained atop his shoulder. "I'd suggest using Rowlet as we don't know Wurmple's battle strengths." The Bidoof was looking around with a bewildered expression as he seemed unaware of what just happened, Zach and Akari were sitting in a nearby bush so they weren't exactly easy to spot.
'So my gut was right?' "Well alright then, Rowlet let's hit him with Tackle!" Zach shouted while pointing towards Bidoof to indicate the target.
"Hooot!" Rowlet stretched out his wings and swooped towards Bidoof, knocking the beaver off his feet! Bidoof shook himself off before leering up at Rowlet as he bundled into a ball before rolling towards him!
"Fly up!"
"Hooot!" Bidoof missed as Rowlet flew high enough to avoid the attack resulting in Bidoof rolling on past him where he'd soon crash into a tree! Bidoof was momentarily stunned as his head smacked against the tree trunk, tiny Torchic spiraled around his head as he swayed back and forth.
"Now finish it with Tackle!"
"Hooot!" Rowlet stretched out his wings as he swooped towards the dazed Bidoof before slamming his body against the beaver! Bidoof let out a cry as he collapsed against the dirt, swirls formed within his eyes as Zach let out an excited shout.
"Alright Rowlet, that was awesome!"
"Hooot!" Rowlet smiled at his trainer's praise while a ball was swiftly thrown at the downed Bidoof once more though this time the ball crackled out to signal the capture of the beaver Pokemon!
"Alright, we did it!" Zach performed a celebratory leap into the air while Rowlet let out a coo.
"Now all that remains is Shinx, you just might manage to pull this off!" Akari cheered before frowning as she took notice of the sun's positioning. The sun was already past the midway point so they only had a few hours to find Shinx along with a suitable capture for herself! It had taken them three hours just to find Bidoof so she was a bit anxious that they wouldn't be so lucky with Shinx as all they had to go by was they lived inland somewhere!
"And we'll have to find you something as well!" Zach exclaimed resulting in Akari biting her lip as she shifted her gaze away from him.
"R-Right, can't wait..."
Cyndaquil was roaming through the Obsidian Fieldlands, Pokeball in hand as she walked about in search of her trainer. Cyndaquil was still fairly young so Arceus didn't see the point in erasing her memories, last thing Cyndaquil remembered she and her trainer were falling through a strange portal before being separated! She figured that he probably ended up the same place she did but she didn't have much luck finding him!
"Quil? Cyndaquil?!" Cyndaquil anxiously cried out in the hopes that her trainer could hear her but much like the past twenty four hours, she wasn't having much luck. Cyndaquil lowered her head as she turned her gaze towards the ground, a saddened expression formed across her face before it was replaced with hope as some nearby bushes began to rustle. "Quil Cyndaquil!" Cyndaquil excitedly raced towards the bushes before yelping out in pain as a light blue blur raced out and crashed into her! "Cyndaquil!" A loud pain filled shriek escaped her lips as the culprit delivered a powerful shock!
Zach glanced towards the direction of the shout, his heart began to race as he distinctly recognized it although he couldn't place it. "Somebody needs our help, come on!"
Akari uttered a nervous gulp as she saw blue electricity crackling from the direction he was looking towards, she reached out for his hand to help calm her nerves before they raced towards the source of the shout where they'd see a blue lion cub Pokemon standing over a Cyndaquil. Shinx's cheeks sparked as he gazed down at his victim with a fierce expression, the lion bared his fangs and prepared to sink them into the weakened Fire type's neck to put an end to her!
"S-Shinx!" Akari instantly froze up at the sight of the Pokemon, her body rapidly shook as she stopped in place. Zach noticed his friend's reaction but he couldn't stop to comfort her right now as Cyndaquil needed him!
"Bidoof use Rollout!"
"Bidoof!" Bidoof burst from his ball and curled up into a ball before rolling towards Shinx, knocking the lion cub off Cyndaquil who appeared to be too weakened to walk away from the battle! Zach looked towards the distracted Shinx before quickly racing out to grab the unconscious Cyndaquil, he picked her up before retreating off the field while Akari silently gazed at him.
'So brave and noble of him to do that, but doesn't he realize that Shinx could easily paralyze him and kill him?'
"S-Shinx..." Shinx gritted his teeth as he rose back to his feet, blue electricity crackled out of Shinx's cheeks before the lion cub delivered a powerful shock to Bidoof! The beaver Pokemon left out a pained grunt before dropping to his knees as swirls filled his eyes.
"Bidoof..."
"Shinx!" Shinx seemed out for blood as he lunged towards Bidoof, his fangs bared as he prepared to bite into his neck!
"NO!" Zach quickly grabbed hold of Bidoof's ball, returning the beaver before any harm could be done to him. "Wurmple use Poison Sting!"
"Wurmple." Wurmple seemed to have a lax personality as he didn't shout like the other Pokemon. The worm simply took aim and fired off several darts of purple poison towards the lion cub, piercing the cub's skin as a purple tint became visible across his cheeks.
"He's been poisoned!" Akari exclaimed.
"Poisoned? That's good right?" Zach questioned.
"Yes, it's not lethal for Pokemon and easily curable! Either give it a Pecha berry or if it comes to it, your Pokemon will simply pass out and magically get over it."
"Wait what?" Zach gave Akari a look.
"S-Shinx..." Shinx gritted his teeth as the poison was getting to him but he stayed strong, ice covered his fangs as he lunged forward to sink them into Wurmple! The worm Pokemon shivered and let out a pain filled cry as swirls formed in his eyes, Shinx wasn't keen on stopping though as he kept sinking his fangs deeper into her!
"Return!" Zach quickly returned Wurmple before any harm could be done to him. "Geez you lot sure weren't kidding, this Shinx is out for blood!"
"I-I know, it's scary!" Akari shivered while edging closer to him. "P-Perhaps we should run?"
"We won't get far, you've seen how fast Shinx moves! We've got to catch it, Rowlet use Tackle!" Zach shouted while pointing towards Shinx. Rowlet shook himself awake before taking off his trainer's shoulder, his wings stretched out as he swooped towards Shinx before throwing himself at him! Shinx grunted as he was knocked off his feet before delivering Rowlet a soft glare as he slowly rose back to his feet. The cub's cheeks sparked once more as he proceeded to shock Rowlet, the owl let out a pained cry but unlike Bidoof and Wurmple he remained able to fight!
"Alright Rowlet that lightning can only reach so far, let's fly up and hit him with Gust!"
"Hoot!" Rowlet took to the air and flapped his wings, creating a gust of wind that knocked Shinx back! The lion cub growled as his cheeks began to spark once more, he took aim at Rowlet and attempted to shock him only for the electricity to die out right before it reached Rowlet!
"Shinx?!" Shinx turned his attention towards Zach and Akari and growled as his gaze locked onto them, the cub was quick to think that if he couldn't attack Rowlet then he'd simply attack the humans! Shinx focused his attention on Akari and snarled out as electricity covered his fangs, Akari tensed up and froze in place as flashbacks of another Shinx electrocuting her played through her mind, preventing her from dodging the incoming Shinx!
"Akari!" Zach had the sense to move but upon noticing Akari had frozen in place, he raced towards her before tackling her to the ground causing Shinx to sink his electrical fangs into his ribs!
"H-Huh?!" Akari's eyes widened as she snapped back to reality and found herself on the ground with Zach a few inches away, getting shocked by the Shinx. "He saved me...?"
"Hoot!" Rowlet stretched out his wings and swooped down to strike Shinx in order to put an end to the attack, knocking Shinx off his feet once more! Shinx shook himself off before snarling as he looked Rowlet in the eye. The lion cub lashed out as he prepared to bite him but Rowlet quickly swooped into the air and flew above him before quickly swerving around to strike Shinx from behind!
"Shinx!" Shinx collapsed to his feet and slowly began rising back up before suddenly grunting out and coming to a collapse as the poison status drained the rest of his health. Swirls filled his eyes as he laid there in a daze!
Akari quickly raced towards Zach and began shaking him to see if he was okay before uttering out a relieved gasp as he sat up. "Y-You're not hurt! I thought for sure that you'd be bedridden like I was or worse!"
Zach grunted out as he felt where Shinx had bit him, some blood had been drawn but it wasn't anything serious. Unbeknownst to him, he much like Ash and Marnie actually had somewhat of an immune system built up for electric attacks. Ash from Pikachu repeatedly shocking him over the years while Zach and Marnie got theirs from Morpeko shocking them in order to steal their food! "Y-Yeah, that is weird... s-still hurt but I should be fine."
"Here, let me bandage that up!" Akari offered him an appreciative smile as she dropped to her knee, she retrieved a bandage from her personal satchel and ripped off a large part of his jacket in order to wrap the bandage around his ribs, easily doing so as the jacket was already heavily torn up. "We really got to get you some new clothes."
"R-Right you are," Zach chuckled before he recalled the injured Cyndaquil. "Cyndaquil!" Zach quickly rose to his feet and grunted out from his injury, one hand held onto it as he quickly made his way towards Cyndaquil. Akari gave him a look of concern.
'He sure puts the needs of others before his own, is that how he ended up the way he did?' She questioned herself.
Zach reached into his satchel and held out a potion towards Cyndaquil, gently prying the mouse's mouth open before forcing the liquid down her throat. Cyndaquil's eyes soon shot open as her injuries began to heal up. "Quil?! Quil?!" She frantically looked around before smiling upwards as she realized that her trainer had found her! "Quil, Cyndaquil!"
"Hey there Cyndaquil, I'm glad you're okay I-" As soon as Cyndaquil hugged him, brief flashes of him interacting with her flashed through his head although the surroundings were still blurred. From the day that they first met to her being carried around by something which acted like a protective sibling to her before finally ending with Cyndaquil battling against an unknown Pokemon whose outline was blurred! "Cyndaquil, i-is it really you?!"
"Quil, Cyndaquil!" Cyndaquil excitedly squealed out while nuzzling her head against her trainer's chest. Akari couldn't help but smile at the interaction as she found the Fire type rather cute. Cyndaquil then pulled away from Zach as her head darted from left to right before spotting what she was looking for in the nearby shadows, Cyndaquil raced towards it and picked it up before carrying it back to her trainer, revealing a Pokeball her ball to be precise!
Zach gazed at the ball and looked towards Cyndaquil before giving the button a light tap, he wasn't quite sure what she was trying to tell him but he assumed that she was trying to say it was her ball and his suspicions were correct as Cyndaquil returned to it much like Wurmple and Bidoof had done earlier! "I remember her, I-I don't remember how we met but I remember her!"
"That's great Zach, I'm glad you two managed to find each other again!" Akari smiled at her friend before uttering out a fearful gasp as Shinx began rising back to his feet. "S-Shinx is waking up!"
"Hm? Oh I almost forgot!" Zach quickly retrieved an empty ball from his satchel and hurled it across the field, bonking Shinx atop the head and knocking him unconscious once more before the ball absorbed him! The ball shook twice before crackling off to signal the capture!
"And that's that, now to focus on your capture!" Zach exclaimed while offering Akari a smile as he turned to face her. Akari gazed towards the ball that contained Shinx before looking towards Zach's injury as her body began to violently shake.
"I-I'm not sure if I can do this! I got paralyzed last time and now you nearly got killed!" Akari exclaimed with an anxious tone.
"Akari listen to me, I'd never let anything happen to you! You're my friend! I'll be ready to step in and protect you if anything happens or it looks like you're in danger, I promise I won't let you get hurt!" Zach placed his hands atop her shoulders and offered her a reassuring smile.
Akari stared into his eyes for a moment as her body continued to violently shake, she then took a deep breath as she realized what would happen if she failed. It'd effectively be a death sentence for her in her current state! "I-I'll do it!" Akari flashed him an appreciative smile before jerking her head towards the nearby river as she heard a splash! "Let's check that out, maybe it'll be something that I can catch!"
The two raced towards the riverbed where they soon came across a Piplup, the penguin laid on his back with a relaxed expression as he allowed himself to flow along with the river's current! "Alright Akari, you got this!" Akari spoke to herself as she grabbed at a Pokeball, she took a deep breath and pulled back her arm as she copied Zach's technique before giving it a good throw! The ball flew towards Piplup and smacked him upside the head causing the penguin to grunt out before he disappeared into the ball. The ball floated atop the river and shook before crackling out to confirm the capture!
"Rowlet fetch the ball!" Zach quickly instructed Rowlet before turning towards Akari with an excitable and proud expression! "You did it!"
"All thanks to you, I'm not sure I could have done this without your help." Akari was quick to give her friend an appreciative hug before turning her attention towards Rowlet as the owl came flying back, an anxious look filled her eye as she looked towards the ball.
"Yeah well you wouldn't be in this mess if it weren't for me, you stuck up for me!" Zach rubbed the back of his neck while noticing Akari's hesitation. "What's up? Don't you want to introduce yourself to that Pokemon?"
"I-I do, I'm just worried... w-what if he doesn't like me?" Akari frowned.
"How could he not? You're the sweetest and not to mention friendliest woman I've met since I got here! I'm sure that it'll like you!"
Akari silently gazed at the ball as Rowlet held it out in offering to her, she clenched her fists and took a deep breath as she quickly snatched it up and hit the release button causing Piplup to burst out onto the field! Piplup shook herself off as she looked around before her eyes stopped upon catching sight of her trainer, Piplup let out an excited cry as she raced forward before wrapping her flippers around Akari's leg! Akari tensed up for a moment before smiling as Piplup merely hugged her, she leaned forward and gave Piplup a friendly pat.
"Hello there, the name's Akari! Now what do we call you?"
"Pip Piplup!" Piplup waved up at her trainer.
"Piplup, eh? Well Piplup you want to be my partner?!"
"Piplup!" Piplup gave a swift nod while offering Akari a warm expression as the girl picked her up and held the Pokemon within her arms.
Zach smiled at the sight before taking a brief glance towards the setting sun. "We should probably head back."
"Good idea, it won't be long until the Zubat and Ghost types come out." Akari nodded before the two turned to head back to the village.
"Oho, I knew you'd pass!" Professor Laventon delightfully exclaimed upon Zach and Akari's return. "Congratulations you two, now how about we head to Cyllene to report your success?!"
"What?!" Cyllene's eyes widened from shock upon Zach and Akari reporting their success. Her doubts didn't lay on Akari but rather Zach, she specifically gave him that mission as she thought he wouldn't pass she sure didn't expect him to go out and successfully complete the trial! She was quick to let out a cough as she calmed down. "Well I suppose we won't have to leave you to die after all. Congratulations." Though her cold tone said otherwise.
"You can keep that satchel, it's yours now. I must say that you impressed me," Her cold tone easily hid her lie. "I set a high hurdle to judge whether a stranger like yourself could be worthy and you cleared it. This is yours, the official uniform of the Survery Corps." She reached behind her desk and held up an bundled outfit that looked similar to Akari's but different.
"And now you've got a change of clothes!" Akari beamed while feeling thankful that he wouldn't have to walk around with his injury on display, it'd make him a prime target for the Miss Fortune bandits if they saw it!
"About time, it's rather chilly now." Zach chuckled as he looked down at his jacket.
"You're to head back to your dorm immediately and get dressed, you must be in proper attire when you meet our Commander. This is your first official order, I suggest you get moving!"
"Thanks Cyllene," Zach turned around to go before glancing back towards her. "Wait what do I do with the Pokemon I caught?" Rowlet was officially his now much like Cyndaquil but he wasn't quite sure what to do with the others.
"Do whatever you want with them, I don't care." Cyllene coldly dismissed him with a wave of her hand.
Zach stepped back into Galaxy Hall after getting dressed into the Survey Corps uniform, he wore a long red scarf much like Akari's as it was to help keep them warm in Hisui's cold environment though unlike Akari he didn't have anything atop his head.
"That uniform sure looks good on you!" Akari greeted him with a smile as he walked into the building. "I'm sure you'll fit in just fine around here!"
"I see you've changed," Cyllene spoke as she walked back into the room. "That dorm we lent you last night? Consider it yours now that you're a full on member, you may do whatever you like with it, I don't really care but if you destroy it you'll have to pay for repairs. Now I'd like to offer you this hat," Cyllene held out a flat red hat to Zach who quickly backed away and shook his head.
"No hats please!"
"Fine." Cyllene tossed the hat over her shoulder. "Now present yourself to the commander at once, his office is on the third floor. You can't miss it."
"Good luck Zach," Akari offered her friend a smile as he began making his way towards the stairs. Akari didn't leave though as she felt it polite to wait for his return before heading off to eat.
Upon reaching the top of the staircase a man that looked remarkably similar to Professor Rowan, if he was a decade or two younger as he had sleek black hair. The iconic stern look was what helped with the similarities though his presence didn't strike up any memories or similarities for Zach as he hadn't met Professor Rowan yet!
"I have been waiting for you!" The man shouted out as Zach reached the top of the staircase.
"Gah!" Zach nearly fell backwards as he hadn't been expecting the man to shout out like that! Rowlet's eyes shot wide open as he began hastily looking around before delivering a frustrated glare to Rowan as he was upset the man woke him up for no reason! Rowlet closed his eyes and started to fall back asleep before uttering out a startled cry as the man shouted out once more.
"I am Kamado, commander of the Galaxy Expedition Team!" The man looked the newcomer up and down before speaking in a calmer tone, allowing for Rowlet to sleep once more. "So you're Zach."
"Yes sir, that's me!" Zach spoke while delivering a respectful bow to the man.
"I've been briefed on your situation, including how you fell from the right in the sky. Now then let's see what you're made of! Face me in combat!" He held his arms out as he roared out. Rowlet glared at him as he was rudely awakened for the third time that day!
"Hooot..."
"Y-You sure?" Zach was quick to ask. "This isn't a test, is it?"
"Hit me!" Kamado ordered.
"Alright if you insist... Rowlet use-"
"NO!" Kamado shouted out once more. Rowlet let out an annoyed coo as he took off to wait downstairs, having had enough of the commander's outbursts! "I want you to physically strike me with all you've got!"
"M-Me?! I can't do that sir, I-"
"That's an order!"
Zach let out a frustrated sigh before shrugging as he charged at him only for Kamado to thrust out his chest causing Zach to comedically fly across the office before landing in a heap at the top of the stairs. "Ow..." He held his chest as he managed to land on top of his injury.
"You've got vigor, I'll give you that! You need to work on your sumo technique but I do see some potential..." Kamado walked forward and helped Zach get back to his feet. "Don't expect a warm welcome from everyone! Naturally some will be slow to trust who literally fell from the sky! The superstitious among us might see this as a warning of disaster! Now you passed your trial so I suppose I should welcome you to the village, you're one of us now regardless of what the others think but in time I reckon that most will grow to trust you. And based on your talents, I'll put you on the same team as Akari. You'll be doing research for Laventon."
"Thank you sir," Zach spoke while delivering another bow of respect.
"And remember, Pokemon are terrifying creatures so keep your wits about you as you work. Dismissed!"
"We're on the same team?! Great!" Akari beamed brightly while feeling thankful that she'd get to spend time with her new friend.
"Well now that Kamado has accepted you, I suppose it's time to give you a Crafting Kit." Cyllene held out a small box to him. "You'll likely need to make your own Pokeballs while out on the field." Zach took the box and tilted his head as he tried understanding how he was supposed to craft a ball out of the materials within the box.
"Um?"
"Don't worry Zach, I'll show you how it's done!" Akari took the box from him and quickly constructed an apricorn and what appeared to be rock slate together in order to make a Pokeball. "Tada!"
Zach blinked and copied her movements, doing the exact steps she did only to end up with a ugly piece of art! "Oops..."
Akari giggled at her friend's misfortune while Laventon laughed out. "Don't worry Zach, if you can't craft materials I'm sure Akari will be more than willing to do it for you!"
"Of course, what are friends for?" Akari offered Zach a warm smile which he returned with an appreciative look.
"Thanks Akari..."
Laventon clasped his hands together while offering the two a smile. "Now about about we get some potato mochi?! Tomorrow we'll head back to the Fieldlands and perform some research!"
Zach and Akari sat next to each other on the steps leading to Galaxy Hall shortly after they ate, Akari gazed towards the starry sky above while Zach's gaze was fixated upon that of his Pokemon which he'd sent out. He stroked the bottom of his chin as he wondered what to do with them, Laventon informed him that he could only have a team of six and he already owned five! Surely he couldn't own a large reserve of them when he likely had some others back home waiting for him, wherever that was. He wasn't going to turn Rowlet away as the owl already grew attached to him but Wurmple and the other two? He wasn't sure what to do with them!
"Um excuse me," Zach was snapped out of his thoughts as one of the town's guardsmen approached him, their gaze fixated upon Zach's Wurmple as they spoke. "I hate to be a burden but would you be willing to part with Wurmple? You see I've always wanted a Pokemon of my own but I don't really have the time to embark on a quest to find one as I'm stationed in time most of the day, nobody's owned as many Pokemon as you do so if it's a bit overwhelming for you, perhaps I can take him off your hands? I'll give you supplies!"
Zach looked towards the guardsman and silently looked him up and down, he seemed like a good guy and wasn't giving off any bad vibes. Zach offered the man a smile as he held out Wurmple's back. "Take him, just promise to take good care of him!"
"Oh I will, thank you so much!" The guardsmen performed an appreciative bow before taking his leave.
Zach turned back to his Pokemon before tensing up as he realized one was missing. "Wait where's Bidoof?!"
"Eeee!" A woman's scream could be heard in the distance causing him to quickly shoot up in order to investigate as he figured it was most likely his Bidoof causing the ruckus, the Professor and Kamado did mention how some people were terrified of Pokemon! He quickly went pale as he turned a corner and saw Bidoof unleashing himself upon a pile of lumber!
"Oh no..." He noticed the woman who screamed out standing close by, her hands covered her mouth as Bidoof gnawed away at the wood!
"I'm so sorry about this, I just caught him! I-I don't exactly have money right now but I'll pay you back for this, I swear! Bidoof retur-"
"Wait stop!" The woman reached out to grab his arm, preventing him from returning Bidoof to his Pokeball. "That Bidoof just performed days of work in mere seconds, I should be paying you for this!"
Zach thought about what she said while turning his attention towards Bidoof. "Huh... well in that case, would you like to care for Bidoof? It seems like a mutual partnership, he loves to gnaw on wood and it saves you time and labor!"
"Oh yes please, I'd love to!" The woman clasped her hands together and offered him an appreciative look as he held Bidoof's ball out to her. She then turned towards Bidoof and offered the beaver Pokemon an affectionate look. "Bidoof, how would you like a treat? I've got plenty of berries back at my place!"
"Bidoof!"
Zach smiled as the two appeared to form a quick connection with one another. He turned to head back to Akari and his other Pokemon and after a couple hours, Akari bid him goodnight and headed towards her dorm alongside Piplup. Shinx gazed up at Zach with a rather calmed and relaxed look, his personality appeared to have changed and mellowed out after he got captured. "Well Shinx, how about we find you a home?"
"Shinx!" Shinx beamed up at his trainer and followed him as he walked throughout the village.
"Anyone got use for a Shinx?"
"No way, get that abomination out of my sight!" The old man from earlier snarled at the sight of the lion cub.
Shinx lowered his head while Zach offered him a comforting pat atop his head. "Don't listen to him Shinx, I think you're an awesome looking Pokemon! Let's try somewhere else!"
"No!"
"Nu-uh!"
"No sir!"
"Get that thing out of my sight!"
"Oh heck no!"
"Well looks like that's everyone, I'm sorry Shinx." Zach sighed out as they arrived at his dorm. A tear started to fall from Shinx's eye as his gaze locked on the ground.
"Shinx..."
"Hey don't be so glum Shinx, nobody else may have a use for you but we'd be happy to keep you around if you want!" Zach offered the lion cub a warm smile as he pushed open the door to his dorm, Cyndaquil raced past him while Rowlet proceeded to fly up and camp out on the rooftop instead.
"S-Shinx...?" Shinx gazed up at him while tears continued to fall from his eyes. "Shinx Shinx?" Shinx tilted his head as he looked towards where he bit Zach earlier, seeming to ask if he's really willing to keep him around after he tried murdering his friend and partners!
"So long as you promise not to try murdering anyone else we'll consider it water under the bridge!" Zach informed with a smile. "You're one of us now after all!"
A smile formed along Shinx's cheeks as he wiped the tears from his eyes. "S-Shinx!" Shinx raced up and affectionately nuzzled against his trainer's leg with an ecstatic cry! "Shinx Shinx!"
"Welcome to the team Shinx!"
A certain blue feline flew high enough over the town to avoid being spotted, his gaze fixated upon a strange male he'd never seen before causing him to stop in his tracks and watch as curiosity filled him. He couldn't help but smile as he watched the stranger give one of the guardsmen a Wurmple before tilting his head as he watched the man run off upon hearing a woman's scream. Mew followed and watched as the stranger ended up finding a home for Bidoof which would most likely help with human Pokemon relations once people saw how Bidoof made work much easier than before! Mew turned his gaze towards the stranger once more before following him around town, watching as he tried finding a home for Shinx much like he'd done with Wurmple and Bidoof only for nobody to want him! Mew frowned at the sight before smiling as the stranger offered to take Shinx in as his own Pokemon, accepting him despite there clearly being some bad blood between the two.
"Definitely worth keeping an eye on this one,"
I really like the side quests in Legends Arceus so I decided to work them into the story, they're quite sweet and wholesome! :)
