Titan Crystal crumbling was what woke me up from my transformation. Hot steam spilt onto the ground as I broke through the shell and took my first breath of the air with my new lungs.

There was no one nearby, just the way I made sure when I went into my chrysalis. The stolen horse that brought me here was the only living creature nearby and it was fast asleep next to a tree.

No titans meant that I had some time to recoup.

I began first by getting myself a drink of water from the river next to me. It cooled my parched throat and sent shivers down my body.

The River taunted me with my reflection. I was looking at a dead woman fearfully staring at her own image. I feel that this wouldn't be the last time I would have to flee into my original appearance. Especially if I was planning on meeting with Willy once more in the future. So this fear I had of Elizabeth wouldn't do at all.

With that resolve in place, I watched in pride as the cowardice morphed into cold anger which settled my face into a cold expression that didn't betray any other emotion. A wave of cold anger toward my destiny. I would use that to push myself forward.

I suddenly noticed something strange. I had expected to keep my eye colour the same when I switched back to Elizabeth. But the woman looking back at me didn't have golden eyes. She had the normal grey colour since before using the Hidden Titan Powers.

I could only hope that the same would hold true for my Warhammer. There was only one way to find out.

My hand clasped around the hilt of a knife that I had tied to the neck of the horse and swiped the blade across my palm.

The poor horse was sent running for its life when yellow energy struck my body to trigger the titan transformation.

I don't have my ODM gear so I wasn't going to be able to escape from my nape after destroying the gate, so I was going to have to place my body toward the bottom of my titan. In the heel of my left foot. That's the point from which the Warhammer began to materialise.

For the first time in 3 years, since the beginning of my scout training, I stood tall and powerful at 15 metres.

Out of habit, I summoned my war scythe and menacingly slashed at the air. It felt so good to be back. But I wouldn't be able to use the construct ability for this mission. I need to keep the citizens of the wall oblivious to the intelligence of the "special" Titans that were hell-bent on their extinction.

So as much as it pained me, I had to return the weapon back to the void and watched as it dissolved into steam.

I inspected my appearance in the water from the river before heading off to Trost. I still possessed the dark grey shell that belonged to Eliza's Titan. And the eyes were still its bright gold colour. This would raise questions with the warriors.

"Hey, guys! Look at what I found!" Sasha giggled enthusiastically as she bounded over to her friends hiding something inside of her jacket.

Armin and Jean looked up along with another member of the cadets, Mina, to see Sasha produce a sizable chunk of smoked meat.

Several of the cadets' eyes bugged out at the sight.

"Where'd you get that?! I thought all livestock was being rationed based on the wealth of the person!" Armin exclaimed.

"I took it from the Upper up's office. They had it hidden all to themselves, can you believe that?" Sasha's face had a crazed look as she salivated over the meat.

"Are you crazy? You could get in serious trouble over that!" Sasha rolled her eyes at Mina.

"Oh come on. Just think of this as an advance. We're about to take back the land that was taken from us and when that happens we'll have more than enough room to farm all the livestock we want! Now, who wants to share this?"

"Well when you put it that way," Mina started.

Almost everyone joined in.

"What do you think was so important for Eliza that she couldn't join us today?" Eren wondered out loud.

Mikasa stood silently next to him. They were both looking over the city. Eren's thoughts were focused on how to save this world that didn't seem to want to save itself. Mikasa meanwhile was staring at a family near the base of the wall. A mother and her small boy carrying a basket filled with vegetables and fruits. There was a small smile forming on her face.

Reiner and Bertolt hung back from the group. Bertolt was helping garrison soldiers lift a canon up onto the wall. The soldiers had been surprised that such a skinny boy was able to actually help them with much of the weight.

But Reiner just stood watching the other cadets as they were fooling around for a bit. His hands were fiddling around with a rock while he closed his eyes and meditated. He didn't want to lose these new friends he made. He felt responsible for their safety and well-being. Maybe if I had been like this back then, maybe they would still be around.

It was so peaceful. Everyone was doing their own thing dwelling in their own thoughts. People worked together to accomplish tasks. New recruits messed around as they were being exposed to responsibilities that would soon be passed to them.

Even the sky was clear and vibrant.

Eren's eyes locked with a sudden flock of Ravens that cawed and flew by marking the second the world changed forever. Mikasa was called away from Eren's side to speak with the commander. Reiner turned to glance at the horizon beyond the walls of Trost. Armin released a final cheerful laugh as he accepted a piece of meat. Sasha sank her greedy teeth into a disproportionately bigger slice of meat. And Bertolt glanced at the gates in horror after finishing his task.

"Did you feel that?" Eren nudged Mina.

A cold gust of wind blew over all the cadets making them all shiver.

It was silent for a few seconds making Eren doubt himself.

"Feel what?" Mina asked.

Eren was about to reply when he felt it again. The surface under their feet felt like it shook and there was a faint dull thump. Like someone had taken a stick against a tree.

"What was that?"

"Did you hear that?"

"Do you think the garrison knows we took the meat?"

Reiner finally noticed that his friend was frozen in horror. He clasped a hand on his shoulder, "What's wrong Bertolt?"

All Bertolt did was point a steady finger to the ground on the outside of the wall.

50 metres away was a large dark figure. Reiner immediately recognised who he was looking at. It was the ghost of someone he thought to be long dead. Their appearance was different from what he remembered but it was still the same in all aspects.

"Reiner?" Bertolt didn't look away from the titan. "What do we do now?"

The Hidden Titan: Research Notes by the Titan Biology Research Society

The Hidden Titan is one of the 13 titans inheritable by Eldians. With the special ability of having absolute control over their own genetics, the Hidden titan is capable of drastically changing its own appearance, biology, and bodily chemistry with but a thought.

This means that facial structure, hair colour, and even attitude can all be altered after encasing themselves in hardened titan crystal or before emerging from their Titan form.

In the past this titan used to be paired with the Mole Titan and were used for infiltration missions due to their unique properties. At some unknown point in time, the Tyburs decided to safeguard the Hidden Titan after deeming it too dangerous in the event of a military defector.

By the 3rd punch, I had already chipped away at one of the support beams for the wall's gate. It was only then that people realised that I was attacking their safety.

"Titan!" The first person to see me was a young man who had gone from being bored to being completely terrified.

"E-every-everyone to your p-posts." Even their leader was frozen in place.

These poor fools couldn't find the courage to keep themselves alive. ANYONE who couldn't fight to stay alive deserved to die.

I Slammed my fist into the metal gate busting a small hole into it. Without my stupid constructs, I didn't have the ability to create an opening for titans to flow into. My fists just didn't have the surface area to take it all down in one go.

"DIE!" I turned to see Eren Yeager swinging down with his swords drawn out.

I didn't manage to physically swat him away but the rush of air from my movement was enough to knock him off course.

Why can't I get this stupid gate to fall down?! I slammed my fist on its surface in frustration. And for good measure, I tried jiggling with no success.

"Eren! What are you doing? This is suicide!" Bertolt came zipping down to Eren's side. "We don't even know what this thing is."

"It's an abnormal titan. That's all we need to know. Now are you going to help me take it down or what?"

Bertolt and I looked at each other. Recognition lived in his eyes. But at the same time, he looked like he was looking at a ghost which is true in some way.

"I'm with you all the way." Bertolt clutched the swords in his hands so hard his knuckles were turning white. "Even if it kills me."

"We're here to help!" Bertolt and Eren had gotten in a harmless slash against parts of my nape when 5 more cadets had descended in their aid.

"I need you to swat me down," I jerked in surprise when I heard Bertolt's voice as he passed by once more.

I turned and started attacking the cadets after making a convincing stop of annoyance and throwing my head back to let out a monstrous bellow.

And even though my main target was Bertolt. The attack that landed on him also caught one of the other cadets, thankfully a nameless face I hadn't interacted with. Though Sasha had barely escaped, she looked horrified as the nameless cadet accidentally impaled his leg with his own blade.

There was a burst of lightning that struck the ground moments after Bertolt went down and the Colossal Titan appeared instantaneously. No one had noticed in the midst of their battle with me but once the steam had dissipated somewhat, they were all able to clearly see the monster that started this whole nightmare 5 years ago. And they were all frozen in fear.

The Colossal made quick work of the gate in one swift kick.

"Everyone retreat!"

"I got you Erald."

"Where's Bertolt?"

"This can't be happening again!"

All of the cadets except for Eren, what a surprise, were fleeing back into the safety of the walls which would eventually be stolen from them throughout the following week.

"Come back you filthy cowards! This is our one chance to stop the Colossal once and for all!" Eren spat.

I could understand, even feel, Eren's anger toward them. Do they not want to keep living? Running away from a titan isn't going to extend their lives, not even by a minute.

I lunged at the fleeing cadets enraged at their cowardice. The ligaments of my mask that covered up my mouth snapped as I opened up my jaw. My vision was red and I wasn't thinking clearly as I shut my jaws on the cadet.

His bones snapped and blood gushed into my throat as his entire body was eviscerated in my jaws. He wasn't the only victim caught in my enraged attack. Another girl was on the ground next to my feet holding a bloody stump in place of her arm. She must've been trying to help that coward escape.

Eren had decided to take matters into his own hands and started zipping up to face the Colossal forgetting all about me.

Foreign memories started flashing in my head as I tried to grab Eren out of the air and caused me to miss.

"Wait your turn to die like the rest of us," he growled.

I shook my head postponing the memory download that I had accidentally triggered.

Bertolt stared at Eren as he drove even closer with the ODM hooks sinking into his titan flesh every few metres until finally, all the steam from his body exploded and filled the air, hiding everything from sight. This was the moment I was waiting for and commanded my Titan form to vanish as well.

I broke into a sprint trying to get to the gates before all of the Colossal's steam dissipated.

"Don't worry I got you, Elizabeth." Bertolt picked me up in his arms and flew us to safety.

Everyone inside the walls was in a crazed panic. Several cadets were puking their stomachs onto the streets while the city dissolved into chaos. The garrison soldiers scrambled about, their commanders issuing orders while the regular soldiers tried to carry them out.

"I thought you were dead." Bertolt hugged me so tightly that I couldn't breathe.

"And I thought you guys were going to acquire the founding titan. But I see that all you've done is join their military," I accused sourly.

"This—this isn't what it looks like," he protested dejectedly. "Let's go somewhere others can't see and I'll tell you everything."

"We couldn't find the royal family when we arrived. They don't seem to exist anymore. Either they died off and left a figurehead in their place or they knew we were coming and are in hiding. It's just like the reports said back in Marley," Bertolt explained.

The commotion outside was growing worse now that Pure Titans had found their way inside the walls without even needing the Female Titan to signal them in. If I had to guess, most of the screams were coming from the Elite scouts as they were being slaughtered.

Most people should already have evacuated deeper into the city in order to wait for safe passage to the last wall on Paradis.

"Yeah. I was the one who wrote those reports," I confirmed while looking outside through the window.

I swore to Willy that Elizabeth was going to die when we got to the island. That's the whole point in why I ate Adeleigh. But I need Elizabeth to send the warriors in the right direction.

They're losing their morale. They lost me and Ido when we got off. Then they were abandoned by Marcel at the wall.

In order to ensure the rumbling is triggered and use that event to get myself into the paths to face Ymir, I need to make sure that Eren develops his hatred for humanity. This is the only way I know how to do that.

You don't have a choice.

There's always a choice.

A minor headache pulsed in my head but it's effects were chased away when my heart stopped. Reiner and Annie ran by. I raised my hand to my face wondering whether I was ready for this. My friends were coming to see me. I was going to talk to my friends as myself again. But my face was still frozen with no expression.

"Elizabeth!" Reiner and Annie threw the door open.

Well then. It only took us 13 chapters to get to this point. I swear I didn't plan that. I'm very excited for what we're about to get into so buckle up people. It's going to be a wild ride.

I'm uploading this before Sunday, the day I scheduled for updates. Why? Well. It's my birthday on Monday, right when the coordinate episode gets released which is awesome! And I'm going to be busy on Sunday which is when I do one quick review to fix any errors I find in the chapter.

Heitor: Happy new year, man. Yeah. Krista/Historia isn't going to be a Yandere in this story. I really like her as the gentle and serious girl that she is. And yes, there are long ranged weapons kind of. They're called Thunder Spears and are basically RPG missiles that they have to deploy close range.

Ymir is definitely not ubber annoyed by Historia's presence anymore. Hanging out with someone all day for 3 years does that to you. And don't worry about the title thing it could mean both. Just like how the Anime's name in Japanese can be translated into attacking titans, attack Titan, and attacking on titans.

I haven't watched Naruto, but I have been wanting to, so I don't get the reference. As for the whole, a different Titan being sent to the walls. Well, you're gonna have to wait and see.

Hello Nyll-Winter and welcome to the project. I don't think I've seen you in the comment sections before. And yes. Eliza's goal is to make sure continuity stays intact for major events while keeping on Eren's good side so that she can get to the final showdown. And about Connie. Yeah I screwed up with him. I'll figure something out to keep his impact there.
