*July 20th, 2553; Noon
*Ryu's birthday; Lucina's Chamber below the Manor
"Lucina? I need to talk to you. Are you here?"
"Ryu..."
Lucina appeared in front of me as usual only something was different. She sounded more tired and weak.
The halo was still above her head but she still didn't look well.
Was it normal for an undead spirit?
"Are you alright Lucina?"
"You don't need to worry about me. I'm not even alive anymore."
"I'm sorry. You just don't seem like yourself."
"Nevermind me. Worry more about yourself and your control of your aura."
I stood there silenced since I know I haven't made any progress. I've been spending more time training for the Tournament and worrying about my friends than my aura control.
"Wasn't there something you wanted to ask me?"
"Yes actually. About my aura control. Since you know more about it how did you master it?"
"Well I had help. The former Champion Obsidian was not only my comrade but like a father to me. He knew how to mega evolve as well and he taught me how to harness the energy from a mega stone and embrace my inner demon instead of resisting."
"What about me? What do I do? I don't have help like you and you can't really help me unless there's something you're not telling me."
"Ryu. I've been able to help you this whole time. Why do you think I've had my soul trapped here for more than a 100 years? It was always to help you!"
"So why haven't you?! Do you have any idea how much this has put me through?! All the pain I had to endure?! Every. Single. Day. Well do you?!"
"Yes I very much do. I went through the exact same thing you are. If only you took your training more seriously and made it more of a priority. But now I can't anymore because you never got it under control. And soon I won't be here anymore."
"What are you talking about?"
"Ryu. The reason I tried to rush your training was because I'm not going to be here forever. Today is your fifteenth birthday is it not?"
"Yeah but why does it matter?"
"My soul was meant to be trapped here until my true descendant was born. And I remain to train them until the stroke of midnight on his or hers fifteenth birthday. Do you understand now? I'll be gone in less than12 hours and my soul will finally be able to rest and I can go to Heaven to be with my family. After that I can help you no longer."
I stared at Lucina in disbelief as all my emotions started to flow through me at once. Not knowing what else to do I just screamed.
Screamed so loud all the walls around me started shaking violently. A strong aura full of anger flared out of me making me cry, rage, and scream even louder.
"WRAGGGGGHHH!!! DAMN IT ALL!"
My emotions all overcame me.
"DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!"
My demon came out and it shrieked out of joy moving my body and talking out of my lips.
"I HAVE NEVER FELT THIS POWERFUL! RAGE YOU FOOLISH BOY! LET ME TAKE CONTROL! AND LOSE ALL SENSE!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Ryu..."
I slammed Lucina away and she blocked my blow with her arms.
"SHUT UP LUCINA! YOU FAILED YOUR SO CALLED CHAMPION! HE WON'T LISTEN TO YOU ANYMORE! NO ONE CAN STOP ME!"
"I KNOW YOU'RE PAIN! BUT YOU DON'T FEEL JUST FEEL PAIN DO YOU?! YOU FEEL HAPPINESS, JOY, AND ABOVE ALL LOVE! LOVE WILL WIN! IT ALWAYS WILL!"
"SHUT UP!"
A strong aura pulsed out of me slamming Lucina against a wall. I shook in horror in spite of my anger.
What am I doing? Please stop!
"Ryu?! RYU?!"
I turned in surprise to see Evelyn shouting out my name.
"Well maybe not Lucina can stop me. But definitely her. Time to kill her."
*Just minutes before
~*Evelyn; Lucario Manor
I honestly didn't want to come but Eevee and Sylveon managed to convince me.
Just show up at my crushes house after not being on speaking terms since April with a birthday present like it never happenned.
I'm sure this will go well.
Sylveon drove us there in my dad's car and I sat in the back feeling scared and nervous. Hopefully he won't be able to notice.
Sylveon parked the car and we all got out wearing casual formal clothing.
Surprisingly Ryu didn't want a big party for his birthday just a small one with family and friends. Although friend is a strong word. I would call him my former best friend.
We all stepped inside the foyer and set our presents down on a nearby table.
"Please wait here. Master Ryu will be here shortly-"
We all paused when we felt the ground vibrate beneath us. Before we could question it the entire manor shook violently and we all fell down on the floor.
A loud scream bellowed out from beneath us. I knew immediately it was Ryu. Without hesistating I stood up and ran following the sound of his voice.
"WRAAAGGGHHH! DAMN IT ALL!"
"RYU?!"
I shouted even as I slammed against the wall hard.
"Ryu?! Where are you?!"
"DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!"
"EVELYN! WAIT!"
I turned to see Sylveon following me while holding onto a door with his ribbons and Eevee holding onto him.
"NO! RYU'S IN DANGER!"
"EVELYN!"
"PLEASE COME BACK!"
I ran towards the gym nearly falling from how roughly the ground kept shaking and his screams slowly grew louder.
"RYU!"
I scrambled through the corridor running as fast as I could. I spotted a secret enterance left open.
I ran straight into it and fell into instant darkness.
"SHUT UP!"
"RYU?!"
I felt tears come down my face as I searched desperately for some kind of light. I fell on the ground from another shake. I started punching the floor with my fist out of frustration.
"DAMN IT! DAMN IT! STOP IT RYU PLEASE!"
A Swift came out of nowhere and flew above me temporarily lighting up the room.
"GO EVELYN! WE CAN'T GET THROUGH BUT I HOPE THIS HELPS! HELP RYU!"
"THANKS SYLVEON! SHOOT UNTIL YOU CAN'T HEAR ME!"
I kept my head down and crawled forward as Sylveon kept shooting Swift and lit up the way for me. I don't know why they can't follow me but as long as I made it through to Ryu that was all I cared about.
Eventually I reached a dark hallway lit up by torches burning with blue fire. From where I stood Ryu's shouting roared loudly from the room behind two large doors.
He sounded so infruiated and yet all I felt was his sad frustration.
"Hold on Ryu! I'm coming!"
I used Quick Attack and charged through the great doors and forced them open.
"Ryu?! RYU?!"
I saw him and he was glowing with dark blue aura that was almost black. He turned in my direction and although he probably looked like a monster he was still the same Ryu to me.
From his aura his feeling were pouring on through. I could feel all his frustrations and sadness. His feelings for his friends and it feels like he's putting them down for being weak like with his family. And his feelings for me. And how he messed up because he feels like he ruined my view of him. And I will never be his friend again and that he just want to see me smile at him one more time.
All coming at me like violent screams. I cried even as he pinned me to the ground by my throat.
"Well if it isn't the girl Ryu cares so much about so much. Sorry to cut this reunion short but I'm going to have to end you now."
"R-Ryu you don't have to feel alone anymore."
"He can't hear you anymore. He's-"
'Yeah I'm done with being alone. And I know you are too. I mean you are part of me.'
I heard Ryu speak but it came from inside of him not his mouth. Maybe I can try and reach him.
"SHUT UP! YOU-"
'No you shut up and listen to what she has to say!'
"Ryu, I'm here for you now. You were always there for me even if it was hard for you to tell me directly. And were both not great at showing it either. But still you were there for me when it mattered."
'I try to be Evelyn. I'm sorry I'm not good at showing you directly. And for everything else I put you through.'
"Without you I wouldn't have made friends. And I would still be alone. Thank you for that."
"You're welcome."
"I know it won't be easy or happen right away but my feelings for you will never change."
His eyes relaxed and he finally spoke to me from his own lips.
"You really mean it Evelyn?"
"Come on Ryu you know how I hate repeating things. But since it's important I guess I will. I like you, you big idiot."
Ryu calmed down and the aura around him changed colors.
"Evelyn I'm so sorry."
He said as he looked at the floor looking guilty. I sat up and punched his shoulder hard.
"You better be! Do you have any idea how much you hurt me by dating Fennekin of all Pokemon over me?! When you knew how I felt and took my feelings without any consideration!!"
"I didn't want to hurt you. Although you know why, it doesn't excuse that I did it. I deserve you punching me if you want or I don't deserve you or even both."
"I have one for thing to say to you Ryu!"
"What?"
"Completely disregard my feelings or hurt me like that again and I won't forgive you next time!"
"I promise I won't. I hated having to push you away to begin with. I was afraid of hurting you because I couldn't control my aura even if I like you. And now I want to start again if that's okay with you."
"Ryu I'm not fragile. I can take care of myself just fine even if you lose control. I stopped you just now I think I can do it again."
"I trust you to know you will."
"Friends?"
"Friends."
We shook paws our promise sealed.
"Ryu?"
We turned to see a Lucario speak to us.
"Is that-"
"Yes this is Lucina."
"Hi, nice to meet you."
"Hello likewise. Ryu?"
"Yes?"
"You can accept the rest of the mega energy from the Lucarionite."
"Wha- I can?! What? How?"
"You awakened your aura control again with no effort. The aura inside you feels powerful does it not?"
Ryu looked at his paws as if he could see the aura pulsating inside of his body.
"Yes I feel it. And it's twice as strong now. But I still don't know how."
"Your aura went through a temporary blockage and is tied through moments of extreme emotion. Like you felt just minutes before. And you have strong trust in Evelyn because she saw you instead of what you were afraid she was seeing. All the bad things about you that make you who you are. With those two things combined you are now ready to pursue the path of mega evolution. Kind of mirroring me with my love Indymion because I was afraid of hurting him too. Does it all make sense now?"
"Yes...But you'll disappear after I take the rest of the energy right?"
"Don't be so sad. It is my fate after you accept the stones power. Go ahead and I can say my final goodbyes."
"Alright."
Ryu walked towards the stone and picked it up.
"But only until the very last minutes so you can see it before you leave."
Lucina smiled and followed us back up to the manor.
~ 11:55pm
After explaining the situation to our friends and Ryu's family we all sat outside celebrating Ryu's birthday before Lucina descended.
Ryu stood in front of Lucina and they held the Lucarionite in each others paws.
"Sorry to be leaving you like this but I can't stay here forever. I want to see my husband and son again. I love you all. As the last champion spirit on Earth I pass ny power to Ryu who will hopefully be my Champion in the Gods Tournament in 5 years."
A ball of energy floated from the stone and Lucina into Ryu. Ryu glowed in bright red and blue aura while Lucina fell on her knees.
His formed started to change. His fur and tendrils grew longer, and his height only slightly.
When the light around him finally disappeared his mega evolution form was revealed.
It was like how I described it and he had markings all over his body.
His mega evolution honestly looked pretty cool.
"Ryu...I am...so proud...of you..."
"Lucina..."
He helped her up and the halo above her head disapeared.
"Time for me to go. I love you all. And Ryu?"
"Yes Lucina?"
"Happy birthday. The Lucario family stands proud with you."
"Thank you Granny Lucina."
She shook her head and she hugged Ryu nearly crying. It was over too soon as she stepped away towards a light coming down from the sky.
A Lucario appeared and she ran to embrace him in tears.
"Indymion! Oh my love I missed you so much! I'm so sorry I died and left you alone to raise our son! I'm so sorry!"
"Lucina I always missed you but I never blamed you for not being able to raise our son together with me. I just wanted to hold you again and here we are now."
They pulled apart and kissed as another Lucario appeared.
"Mother?!"
"Lucian?!"
She ran to him and kissed his forehead before hugging him tightly.
"My son! I'm sorry I wasn't able to be a mother to you! I'm never going to be apart from you again my love!"
Indymion hugged both of them and she started crying some more.
"Oh my boys. I'm so happy to see you both. I'm so glad we're together now. I will never leave you two again!"
She and Indymion held their sons paw as they walked into Heaven together. Me and my friends watched them disappear into the sky.
I cried a bit not feeling embarassed at all. We all cheered as Lucina waved goodbye one last time.
Sylveon and Eevee hugged each other and I turned to see Ryu still holding my paw without noticing.
He also still had his mega evolution activated.
"Your mega evolution is kind of cool."
He turned to me with a raised eyebrow.
"Thank you."
He said as he changed back to normal.
"And your still holding my paw by the way."
"So I am."
"You let go and you won't have an arm."
"I won't."
Ryu said as he tightened his paw on mine. I smiled as I tightened my grip too.
