~Evelyn

*Old Stadium

I sat there meditating with Mew watching me. I could hear my friends laughter in the trees. Feeling a little jealous inside I did my best to try and control my emotions.

I don't know why this was so difficult for me. I opened up a lot yesterday. Why do I still get agitated so easily?

"Stop. Go ahead and rest Evelyn."

Instead of saying my usual quip I complied and sat there with a sigh.

"What's on your mind?"

I gave Mew a side glance before rolling my eyes and responding.

"Look Mew, you don't know me but all I can say is I have a hard time talking about how I feel. You're better off asking the others because I don't like talking about myself."

"Why don't you like talking about yourself?"

"I just don't."

"But why?"

"Just drop it please."

Mew went quiet but stared at me intensely.

"What?"

"You're not afraid of talking about how your feeling. You are afraid of being vulnerable. Am I right?"

"How can you tell?"

"The way you hesitate to be more open with Ryu. You always keep your true feelings for him bottled up and that's not healthy. You always put up a strong face and refuse to react much about things because you don't want your friends to judge you when they really don't care because they do care about you. You want to be more like your friends. And they don't even know the full length of how important they are to you. Your love for your father is barely being worked on. You fail to control your emotions because you don't even understand yourself. That's why for you this part of training is the most important. Learn to open up with everyone dear to you and we'll get back to this. So until then, I want you to try and learn how to be more sharing with your friends, father, and Ryu."

"What do you mean, 'We'll get back to this?' Are you telling me you're not going to train me anymore?"

"Yes that's exactly what I mean."

I stood up in frustration and stormed off to the woods. As I neared the lake I could hear my friends laughter. I stood behind a tree to watch them curiously as they were having fun in the water.

Eevee shrieked as Sylveon picked her up and put her on his shoulders.

"Torchic fight!"

Ryu shouted as Mewtwo put him on his shoulders and Eevee and him clenched paws to try and push the other off.

"Give it up Eevee! You can't push me off!"

"Well I can't! But I can hold on for a while!"

"Urgh! You can! How did you get so strong?!"

"I had a good teacher!"

Eevee said as she moved forward fast nearly pushing him off but he held on.

"I can...see that!"

"Whoah!"

"Hahaha you can't stop me now! Whoah whoah ahh!"

Ryu slipped and took Eevee down with him in the water. When they submurged again they were laughing loudly.

"Dang it! I slipped off!"

"Hahaha and you pulled me down!"

"Slipping off to an Eevee imagine that."

"Hey!"

They all turned to Sylveon after the comment Mewtwo made.

"Eevee is not weak. She can hold her own against anyone. She's amazing and one of the smartest, strongest, and the most capable pokemon I ever met."

"Aww Sylveon."

Eevee said as she swam on over to Sylveon and pecked his cheek.

Although it was a bit revolting they were honestly cute.

"Why are you two so good at showing how much you care about each other? I can barely hold paws with Evelyn and I can't do anything else."

"You two held paws?"

"Uh yes we did. Or I- I guess. Or I don't know..."

"Ryu stop blushing and talk normally."

"Should I tell her that's how she makes me feel then Mewtwo?"

He was asking for advice about me? How cute.

"I-I'm not very good at explaining the concept of love or romantic feelings. You're better off asking these two. Excuse me."

Mewtwo said as he swam away towards the shore and headed straight in my direction. He stopped like he knew I was there the whole time.

"How's Mew?"

"She put a hold on our training and told me to try and be more open to those important to me."

"Then why are you still here and not with them?"

"Because idon'tlikebeingopen."

"What?"

"I don't like being open!"

"Just try it. You might surprise yourself. I know I did with Mew."

"I guess you're right. It shouldn't be too difficult. I mean we've been friends for the longest time."

"Of course I am. You're welcome by the way."

"For what?"

Mewtwo gave me a knowing smile as he walked away. I blushed as I realized what he meant.

"Hey Evelyn! Come swimming with us!"

I turned to see my friends ushering me over. Ryu looked right at me and smiled. I nodded in response as I swam over to them.

"Take that!"

"Hey! Oh that's it you're gonna get it!"

I said as I splashed Eevee back but missed and splashed Sylveon. He tried to splash me back and splashed Ryu.

Soon we were in an all out splash war. I started laughing and felt relief inside that I was hanging out with my friends again.

Ryu especially. Throughout the war me and Ryu bumped shoulders and we looked at each other.

"Hi."

"Hi."

One look from him told me he thought the same thing.
