Well hey there, I hope y'all enjoy this chapter.

Undeath9087: Grover's definitely not happy and Hedge is gonna care about his opinion more than the others for understandable reasons. And yep, Percy goes with Annabeth.
AkitoshTheBold: I have considered that- I would kinda love them to have Bio kids but I do also think they'd definitely end up adopting an army worth of kids 'cause Percy is her mothers daughter. As for the legacy thing- I feel like some people are gonna be insanely distantly related but it would make sense I think- like, generations back, so far that they don't even know they have godly blood, after a while the ability to see through the mist would fade and then eventually only occasionally are they born clear sighted.
Validmeup: It will be, and thank you.
Guest: I already said it in an above reply, but we're talking ridiculously distant legacies- long after knowledge of their heritage has faded and after most of their family have lost any connection to that sort of thing.
Guest: She's met him once but Apollo was more focused on May.

When Percy and Annabeth reached the Fort it was a war.

Somehow-and Percy was painfully grateful for this, Leo had somehow escaped his fall unharmed- Percy could see him ducking from portico to portico, blasting fire at the giant eagles swooping down on him. Roman demigods tried to chase him, tripping over piles of cannonballs and dodging tourists, who screamed and ran in circles. When he spotted the two girls he shot them a wide smile and gave a far too excited jaunty little wave. "All good sis!"

Tour guides kept yelling, "It's just a reenactment!" Though they didn't sound sure. The Mist could only do so much to change what mortals saw.

Percy almost laughed when she spotted a full-grown elephant in the courtyard, rampaging around the flagpoles and scattering Roman warriors. Jason stood about fifty yards away, sword-fighting Dakota- and as Percy and Annabeth watched Jason yelled, "Sorry about this Dakota!" as he vaulted straight over
Dakota's head like an acrobat and slammed the hilt of his gladius into the back of the Roman's head. Dakota crumpled, and Percy blinked.

"Huh." and she smiled slightly, Octavian's terrified expression flashing through her mind.

"What is it?" Annabeth's voice was curious as she side eyed Percy. "You're smiling. This isn't a smiling time is it?" she raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Pretty sure I used that move on Octavian during war games." Percy explained quickly.

"Huh, wish I'd seen that."

"It was very fun." Percy nodded, "You'd have enjoyed the show. Frank, Hazel and I kicked ass."

"Octavian really hates you huh- ah there- Jason!" Annabeth called, and he scanned the battlefield until he saw her, and he gave a small nod and a wave to show that they'd been seen.

She pointed to where the Argo II was docked. "Get the others aboard! Retreat!"

"What about you guys?" he called back towards them, a question in his eyes

"Don't wait for us!" Percy called back, grabbing Annabeth's hand as they both bolted off.

"I can't believe we're doing this." Annabeth squeezed Percy's hand as they ducked and dodged their way through mobs of tourists- never letting go of one another.

"It does feel almost like old times."

"Annabeth" Percy's chest felt tight for a second as she struggled to find the words "I- listen-"

"I know." Annabeth shook her head, "Don't say it- not now anyway. Rachel and I talked this morning. We need to have a proper talk, the three of us." she shook her head, "But right now is definitely now the time."

"Of course." Percy agreed as they dodged into a small room- the crowds had given them cover. Hopefully no one else would have seen where they went.
Percy looked around the room curiously, but she didn't know what she was looking for. Annabeth had mentioned some kind of map but- well, Percy couldn't see one- and then Annabeth froze, and Percy frowned, "Annabeth-" and Percy felt something- she didn't know what it was- but Annabeth's expression became horrified- Annabeth yanked Percy towards the door, clearly trying to flee, but it slammed shut- Percy let out a shocked cry, letting go of Annabeth's hand a whirling around, looking for another exit, "Annabeth!" And Annabeth was looking around frantically- she was shaking, her face white with terror- but Percy couldn't see whatever it was Annabeth could see.

"Annabeth! Annabeth talk to me." Percy grabbed Annabeth's shoulder, "Please-" but Annabeth didn't seem to be able to see her.

"Gaea?" Annabeth murmured the name, "W-who is the weaver-"

"Gaea?" Percy felt like her heart was stopping, "No no no. Annabeth-" she stepped back, "annabeth please- Gaea! Gaea if you're here then leave her alone! Leave her alone!"

"Oh but I can't do that little Persephone. Dear Annabeth has her own path. And her path is almost merciful compared to what I will do to you little daughter in law-"

"Fuck you!" Percy screamed the words, rushing to the door and slamming her fist on it, "LET US OUT YOU BITCH!" she glanced back towards Annabeth, who was breathing heavily, her gaze flicking around the room.

Then Annabeth gasped loudly, her eyes widening- the fear fading, and a moment later she was stumbling slightly as the door burst open. "I-"

"Annabeth!" Percy's voice was terrified, "Annabeth are you okay Wise girl?"

"I-" Annabeth blinked rapidly, her eyes wide, "Yeah, yeah I'm fine, was- did you see the spiders?"

"No." Percy shook her head, "There were no spiders- did- you saw spiders?" No wonder Annabeth had looked so petrified, Percy could still remember the way she'd frozen up on that stupid water park ride all those years ago.

Then an explosion shook the building and Percy grabbed Annabeth's wrist, yanking her outside, "Come on we have to go- where's the map thing that we need to find?"

Annabeth let out a shaky breath-and Percy could feel her trembling, and she was gazing across the courtyard then, past the panicked tourists and fighting demigods—to the edge of the battlements, where a large mortar pointed out to sea.

Annabeth moved quickly, Percy chasing after her as they rushed to the old artillery piece- it didn't seem to be anything special to Percy but she trusted Annabeth- and when an eagle swooped towards them she drew Riptide, slicing through the air maybe an inch away from cutting off the birds legs- forcing it to soar upwards to avoid dismemberment. Percy glanced back towards the Argo II worriedly as she and Annabeth ran- Roman demigods had formed ranks and were advancing toward the Argo II, but a miniature storm had gathered over their heads. Though the day was clear all around them, thunder rumbled, and lightning flashed above the Romans. Rain and wind pushed them back. It seemed like Thalia and Jason had summoned up quite the storm to hold the enemy at bay.

Soon enough the two girls reached the mortal and Annabeth put her hand on the muzzle- Percy wondered what Annabeth was seeing because she could see nothing special, but Annabeth was nodding, "The mortar, of course." She pried at the plug with her fingers but nothing happened and Annabeth let out a string of curses, drawing her dagger. As soon as the Celestial bronze touched the plug, the plug shrank and loosened. Annabeth pulled it off and stuck her hand inside the cannon.

Percy could see when Annabeth felt what she wanted because her face lit up and she pulled her hand free, holding a small disk of bronze the size of a tea saucer, etched with delicate letters and illustrations. Percy beamed widely.

"That's the map?"

"I'll check it out properly later-" Annabeth stuffed it into the pack and the two girls turned.

"Rushing off?" Reyna was stood ten foot away, in full armor holding her javelin, the twin dogs by her side, growling.

A quick glance around told Percy that it was just the three of them. Most of the combat was around the Argo II. They were running out of time.

"Annabeth go."

"What?" Annabeth's eyes widened, "Percy-"

"Go Wise girl."

"I am not leaving you behind-"

"Annabeth." Percy's voice was firm. "Please-"

"How sweet." Reyna's expression was cold, "You swore Percy-"

"It was my fault." Percy didn't even falter, "I was the one who swore on my life that if anything went wrong I'd be responsible-"

"It wasn't your fault!" Annabeth almost screamed the words, "Nothing he does is your fault Percy you have to stop it! Stop blaming yourself!"

"Who?" Reyna lowered her weapon very slightly. "Who are you talking about?"

"Alabaster." Percy's voice was tight, "He's back-"

"Percy-" Reyna looked stunned, "After what you told-"

"Yes." Percy took a deep breath, "He set us up Reyna- and I know okay I know Octavian won't believe us but you are smarter than him. Please. Let the others go I'll hand myself over-"

"You know that won't be enough." Reyna's expression was strained "Octavian wants that ship of yours, he wants all of you. If he can't have his vengeance then he'll turn his attention to your Camp. The legion will march on your territory. We will raze it and salt the earth."

"Reyna please-"

"I won't be able to stop him. You know that Percy."

"We have to leave." Annabeth shook her head, "You know that Reyna." she looked near tears. "I'm following the Mark Of Athena to Rome."

Reyna shook her head, "You have no idea what awaits you- even with your friends?"

"Yes, I do," Annabeth said. "This grudge between our camps…I can fix it."

"Our grudge is thousands of years old. How can one person fix it?"

"The quest has to succeed," Annabeth said. "You can try to stop me, in which case we'll have to fight to the death. Or you can let me go, and I'll try to save both our camps. If you must march on Camp Half-Blood, at least try to delay. Slow Octavian down."

Reyna's eyes narrowed. "One daughter of a war goddess to another, I respect your boldness. But if you leave now, you doom your camp to destruction."

"We've dealt with tough odds before." Percy said quietly, "We're stronger than you think. Please, just try and buy us time- we have to go to Rome to find the Doors of Death and Bianca-"

"Bianca-" Reyna faltered- and Percy remembered how her eyes had followed the daughter of Hades, Reyna didn't even know it herself yet but Percy could see the fear in her eyes. "Is she-"

"She needs us Reyna-" she ignored the look of confusion Annabeth shot her. "Bianca is in trouble."

"I-" Reyna looked torn, "That's not fair Percy-"

"Life isn't fair!" Percy snapped the words, "Nothing I have lived through is fair Reyna! We just have to try and deal with the unfair stuff. I get it, we're at war-"

Percy winced when she head a familiar voice shrieking, "Kill them! Kill them all!" Octavian had clearly, and very sadly in Percy's opinion, survived his little swim, and he was moving towards them- not a good sign.

"Let us go." Annabeth repeated, "I will fix the grudge between the camps and Percy and the others will rescue Bianca."

"I swear it Reyna-"

"Like you swore it would go well?"

"No. Because Bianca is family. I'm not saving her for you but I know you care- so if you want her to live you will let Annabeth and I go now."

Reyna stared at them, and then she flicked her hand, the metal dogs moved backwards, "Annabeth Chase. Percy Jackson. When we meet again we will probably be enemies on the field of battle." her voice was firm, though she hesitated. "Percy-"

"Yes-"

"Bianca-"

"I know." Percy gave a sad smile, "We'll save her and we'll look after her." because it was painfully obvious that Reyna cared about Bianca deeply.

"Go."

And with that Percy and Annabeth were taking off, rushing past Reyna, who made no attempts to stop them- the ship was already moving away from the dock- clearly they'd had no choice- they weren't able to hold out forever after all.

That was fine, Percy was sure that they could ride a wave to the ship if they got too far- all they had to do was get through the winds and into the water- unfortunately Octavian was blocking their way- Percy didn't even hesitate, clenching her fist, drawing the water from his blood towards his lungs- he bent over, coughing and as they passed him Percy released her fist- she needed to focus on running- a moment later she felt a pain in her back on the left side but she didn't say a word- didn't even flinch as they ran through the wind that had no effect on them,

And then they reached the edge of the dock and Percy grabbed Annabeth's hand, both of them leaping into the air- a wave rushed up to meet them, their feet hit it- it surged towards the deck of the Argo II- which was moving steadily away- but the wave was faster.

And then they reached the ship, tumbling onto the deck, Rachel catching Annabeth as Nico and Leo caught Percy, and she could feel her head spinning as she gasped out the coordinates that the nereids had given her.

And before she blacked out she heard Nico's panicked yell, "Will! She's been hit!"
