"...Tied on a string? Speak to me in my throne room. I'll hear for your pursuits." Snoke ended.
Hux pouted. He looked around at the many officers surrounding him, but he knew he had to show no weakness in front of them. Right now he needed to get away from everyone at the moment and settle his deeds with Snoke after that horrendous display. General Hux got up from the floor and scurried out of the bridge, away from everyone else. Mavka shortly followed him as it was her duty to tend to his needs if necessary.
Outside the bridge, Hux sauntered and excused any stormtrooper that may have occupied the area so that he may be left alone. Mavka who trailed his path, found him with his back turned to her. Of course, he felt her presence nearby and glanced to see her behind him. Hux gave her a grim expression but Mavka didn't hesitate to approach him.
"General..." She called out.
"What is it?" He asked curtly. Mavka was a bit concerned, the punishment he was given was vicious and left him bleeding with a possibility of a broken nose.
Mavka said nothing else and approached him with a handkerchief she possessed in her grip.
Slowly and carefully she raised her hand to his face, softly dabbing the cloth around his lips. Hux backed away for a bit but Mavka was persistent and continued to attend to him, careful not to do anything that would cause him to flinch uncomfortably.
It was surprising that he let her do this and just watched without care. Once the blood had been attended to, Hux didn't want this to go too long and swatted her arm away until he had enough.
"That is enough." He fixed his hair and brushed off some excess fibers from his uniform. Mavka eyed him for a moment, "Are you well...?" She questioned in concerned inquiry.
"What?... Yes, yes! Why should you be concerned?" He said dismissing her actions.
Then she continued, "You were struck by Snoke. It appeared painful..." She said.
"I know what happened. I don't need your concern, Ein." Hux glared at her for a long moment and said "If you have something to say, then say it." Mavka took a moment before speaking;
"It is my... job to be concern." She said, looking intently into his eyes. "Indeed it is." He said as his eyes darted to the distance.
"Well, if you'll excuse me, I have to attend my meeting with Snoke." He leaves the area but Mavka follows him to his destination. Though she was ordered to not enter the throne room, just instructed to wait outside.
She now pondered about the outcome of the meeting whether or not it would go well or not. She had heard that Snoke was a great and powerful being keeping the First Order under his thumb. He would even kill Hux if he could.
Mavka wondered if she should be worried at all. The meeting was long and drawn out. Snoke did not give Hux a straight answer to any of his questions. But at the end of it, it went well, and Snoke but let him go. Satisfied with the meeting, Hux left the throne room.
Just a few junctures before Hux entered the room of Snoke, Mavka noticed the notorious Kylo Ren entering the lift to enter it as well. Perhaps he also had a meeting with him. The lift had opened and revealed to be General Hux himself, he seemed to be bothered by the sight of Mavka as if he was getting tired of her.
"Oh, you're still here." He said in a resentful tone as he left the lift. Mavka stood there observing Hux with a concerned look, now following him out of the lift. There was an empty silence between them and Mavka wanted to be more talkative with him even though she knew she was almost like a flea on his back.
"Did the meeting go... well?" She asked. General Hux turned to her, "What?- Yes. I've done more than Kylo Ren that's for sure. There's no doubt that Supreme Leader is more furious with him than me."
"...That is good," Mavka replied, her lips pursed in a modest smile. Hux looked at her for a moment and stopped in his tracks, "What is the meaning of this?" He said with an almost revolted face. Mavka looked at him, confused about what he meant. "-Mmm?" Raising her brow, she was genuinely puzzled.
This sudden out-lash was out of nowhere, "You're being obsequious" was his accusation.
"...Obsequious?" She asked, truly puzzled by his meaning.
"Yes." He glared at her with a serious face, but Mavka was completely mystified.
Hux noticed her disconcerted face and groaned impatiently, "Never mind." The two of them stood there for a moment observing each other before Hux took a deep breath and turned away from her to head back to his duties. The General's situation with the Supreme Leader was in a better state but overall, the Resistance destroyed a big part of their attack fleets, escaping once more.
They were still a ways off from the outer Rim and would have to rely on smuggling and small craft to get reinforcements and supplies. This would certainly be a trying time.
Returning to the Star destroyer, General Hux returned to the main bridge where he was greeted by Captain Peavey. "Sir, we've managed to track the resistance through light speed. It's not long till they run out of fuel."
Now, Hux was brought with pleasing news, he gave out a satisfied grin, "Good work, Captain. Soon, we'll end their pitiful existence."
"Yes, sir." Hux approached the massive windows and watched as the entire fleet entered into hyperspace and left the system. As Mavka stood along the side alone, waiting on any orders that came Captain Peavey's way, he approached her.
"You're the assistant to the General, correct?"
"Yes, sir." She replied He didn't say anything else and simply looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"The General, is he well?"
"What?" She said, confused. "It was a rough display. All of it. But I understand that the General has a plan for the First Order."
"Yes..." The both of them watched from the sidelines, observing calmly from the shadows until otherwise required.
"These conditions, it worries me." The captain stated, Mavka turned to him, "What do you mean?"
"The General's understanding is... lacking the Finalizer."
"Why do you tell me these things? Your... worries?" Inquired Mavka. "No." He replied, "I'm simply telling you these things if certain possibilities transpire the way we don't wish them to." He turned and left.
Mavka soaked in the words but was entirely baffled by the conversation as if he knew anything about her and the General. Several hours passed and the fleet had arrived at the Outer Rim, where they finally met the resistance, sitting like ducks in the middle of the galaxy.
Several First Order fleets arrived alongside the scene It was heard that Kylo Ren himself wanted to engage on the Resistance ships where many of the First Order fighters scrambled in the galaxy alongside him, ready to attack with the leader. In a show of force, and an attempt to scare off the resistance, the entire fleet was ordered to unleash everything they had on the enemy.
The Resistance ship had a field over them, a shield. "Resistance hangar has been neutralized." Said one of the monitoring crew members in the control tower, and the Star Destroyer's hyperdrive generators went to full power. The battle against the resistance was intensifying, and Kylo Rens ship stood in the middle of it all before a couple of TIE fighters blasted into the main center of the resistance ship.
The rest of the resistance fighters were pulling back, distancing them from the Star Destroyer fleets. General Hux contacted Kylo Ren who was out into battle, notifying him that the fleet cannot cover him in that range. General Hux was growing aggravated with the current circumstances.
Captain Peavey stood alongside the General as he vented, "What is the point of all of this If we can't blow up three tiny cruisers?"
"Well, they're faster and lighter, sir." Peavey explained, "They can't lose us, but they can keep at a range where our cannons are ineffective against their shield."
Mavka watched from afar, observing the hologram display that was in the center. General Hux approached the view, "Well, keep up the barrage. Let's at least remind them that we're still here." He turned once more to watch the hologram of the resistance fleet.
"Very good, sir." Replied Peavey.
"They won't last long burning fuel like this." He observed. The First Order had no intention of giving up. They kept firing on the center mass of the small ship, keeping it on the edge of the shield because that was all the enemy could afford. "It's just a matter of time." Said, Hux.
The center mass of the small ships was hit several times by enemy fire.
During this time, the Resistance managed to get out of range of the barrage. Though they have lost a couple of their own, they couldn't leave otherwise they would be followed once again with no more fuel with them. The First Order simply kept firing on them at will.
However, this was a losing battle for the Resistance and it was only a matter of time before the enemy fire crippled and destroyed them.
Mavka approached the General seeking some inquiry. "The resistance... they will perish?" She stated, the General turned to her with a look of determination. "Yes, indeed. As I've explained to the Supreme Leader. We have them tied to a string. They cannot escape when they have nothing." He looked back to the holo-display of the enemy fleet.
"As long as they continue to over-extend, they will be destroyed." Mavka nodded along, knowing he said this already. There wasn't much to do as the First Order kept their weapons blaring at the Resistance cruisers. Mavka eyed the General, examining his face since he may have gotten a crooked nose. Her constant staring was noticeable as General Hux took a glimpse of her uncanny behavior.
He shot at her with a sharpening glare, "Ein, do you have an issue with something?" He demanded, Mavka looked away from his face and towards the holographic display realizing that she was acting a bit inappropriate. "-Sorry, General. Your nose..." She indicated her finger at his facial area, his nose in a tint of red as a splinter of blood slowly escaped his nostrils.
"-What...Oh-" He patted his finger beneath his nose to see his gloved hand doused with a bit of his blood. General Hux lowered himself away from everybody else, struggling to keep himself presentable.
Mavka accompanied him to his side, handing him the same handkerchief she used to tend to him. Instead of letting her treat him, he snatched the cloth away from her and patched the blood himself. Hux turned to Mavka, "Is it... gone?" He said to her. Mavka nodded that it was. "Good." He said, turning around to the holo-display, returning to his previous state while passing her back the handkerchief negligently.
After a short while, it would appear that nothing was going to happen for a bit.
"If you'll excuse me, I will be in my chambers. Notify me if anything fascinating happens." Says General Hux, leaving the bridge pit.
