Walking stiffly into the main room Miroku stood in front of the Higurashi crest. Remaining impassive she saw the flash in her friends eyes as if apologizing to her.

Breathing heavily she was seated beside Naraku who had changed into a black kimono top and pants. Taking her hand in his she didn't hold his back as he wrapped long fingers around hers.

Trembling she looked up at Miroku as he began to officiate.

'Miroku. Can you hear me?' Kagome projected to him. Moving his eyes to her as if in answer he paused for a moment.

'Kagome, all of your energy. Hit the seal. We can dismantle it for good, now.' He replied. Outwardly she participated but inwardly she forced her energy into the tree of ages, she stared at all of the names on the extended branches feeling tears burn in her eyes.

These people had kept her beloved Sesshomaru captive since his childhood, they had taken his family from him and still he had found love for her; the descendant of the people who had hurt him.

Feeling overwhelmed she sniffled as Miroku handed Naraku the first saucer of sake to exchange with Kagome. Shakily she grasped it moving slowly.

'That is it Kagome. Just a bit more.' Taking it from her there was a sudden commotion that sounded from outside the hall.

Lord Higurashi stood suddenly as a guard ran in.

"What is the meaning of interrupting Lady Kagomes wedding to Lord Naraku?!" He fumed.

"My lord, the demons…the slaves they have gathered in the courtyard…they're attacking." The guard managed out.

Breathing heavily Kagome stared at the seal feeling it begin to fall apart. She could feel it on her skin as it burned away before the very fabric the Higurashi lineage was painted upon caught fire and burned.

With the seal broken there was a sudden rush of air and an energy burst that all of them felt as it broke and spread out throughout the entire compound.

"The seal." She heard her mother say as she began to sob. Kagome was seized by the arm feeling incredibly light headed and dizzy. Fighting the person grasping her she only thought of getting to Sesshomaru.

"My men will see to securing the mansion." Naraku said as he picked Kagome up and ordered guards to follow them. Passing out Kagome didn't have time to register what was happening.

Sesshomaru stole quietly through the main compound quickly going undetected. It was no secret where Sangos chambers were as she slept apart from the mansion above her keep.

Jumping up to the shuddered window he easily took it off the hinge and snuck inside. It was dark with the brazier having burned out on its own.

Moving to her futon he stared at her as she slept. She seemed so young and unassuming as she was, nothing like the cruel woman he had come to know.

Closing his eyes he saw all of the people she had personally hurt. Just as with the other humans Sesshomaru had watched as Sango had grown up and witnessed her wickedness form and grow with time.

He saw Rin and scented her blood, his sweet little friend who loved to tend to the flowers and always had a smile. The demons she had executed, to many to count. Then of course all of the instances she had forced herself on him and taken his seed as if she were his mate.

Inhaling a deep breath he reopened his eyes and shook his head. Taking a step back he had every right to take his revenge on her but decided against it. He could not go to his wife with anothers blood on his hands.

Turning to leave the sudden rush of energy hit him. It felt as if something had burst. Looking to his hands he saw his energy swirling around him.

"The hell?!" He heard Sango shout suddenly. Turning to glance at her she sat straight up in the bed. "What are you doing here?"

"I came here to kill you but you are not worth it." He replied calmly.

"You? Kill me?" She mocked. "I would love to see you try." As she stood quickly he extended his hand towards her spraying poison at her from his claws. Coughing she covered her face to shield it. "How did you…?"

Exiting through the window he had had enough of her. Jumping down he saw the others had begun to gather and fight off the guards with an array of attacks.

Looking up he saw the shimmer of a yellowish dome envelope the compound. Jaken had placed the barrier.

Looking to the mansion he made haste to Kagomes balcony hoping that she was alright and that no harm had come to her. Reaching out to her with his mind he received nothing.

Gritting his teeth he transformed into his sphere of light and howled at what met his eyes.

Naraku had picked up Kagome as she teetered on unconsciousness and whisked her away. Miroku had turned for a moment to stare in awe where the seal had been as all that was left was a scorched wall.

"Where is Lady Kagome?" He nearly demanded as she was suddenly gone.

"With her husband, where she should be." Her father snapped.

"He is not her husband. The wedding ceremony was not completed."

"This is not the time to spilt hairs monk! Now, make yourself useful and protect my wife." Leaving the main room heavily guarded Mirkou glanced back at the handful of guards standing by the elder Lady Higurashi.

"Right. Lets take the lady to safety. Surely you have a safe room to place her in." Miroku said.

"Yes master monk." One of them spoke up.

"Take her. I am going to look for Lord Naraku and Lady Kagome myself." Miroku replied. Receiving an understanding nod they whisked the distraught woman out of the room. "Now, where the hell did Naraku take her?"

Sesshomaru came upon the balcony to find the doors locked. Howling in fury he ripped them down easily with barely an effort. Walking into her room he growled at the man with her.

"Demon!" The man spat as he had quickly turned to face him. "Guards!" The door to her chambers opened wide as soldiers he didn't recognize spilled in with swords drawn.

Glancing at Kagome on the bed she was unconscious.

"What did you do to her?" Sesshomaru demanded. Naraku narrowed his eyes as his mind spun realizing why the demon was there.

"You will not harm my wife." Naraku ground out. "Attack." As two soldiers advanced on Sesshomaru he watched their actions carefully.

They were attempting to surround him. It was almost comical if not for the fact he wanted Kagome in his arms where he knew she was safe.

In a flash he felt his energy crackle at his fingertips as a whip of light came between his thumb and fingers. Snapping it across the men they were knocked down with deep wounds across their chests, falling where they had came to a sudden halt.

"My wife." Sesshomaru snarled. Studying him where he stood Naraku smirked suddenly.

"Is that so?" Moving back to the bed he sat beside Kagome stroking her hair. Clenching his fists and shaking with rage Sesshomaru bared his fangs. "How interesting."

Shaking Kagome roughly by the shoulders roused her. As her lids fluttered open she made a move to bolt upright only to have Naraku seize her and sit her up pinning her arms back against her as he held her in place.

Swallowing hard as her mind registered that Sesshomaru was in the room she felt more reassured.

"My love." She whispered out.

"So, what the demon said is true. He is your husband." Naraku hissed out into her ear. Kagome struggled and trembled as he brought a hand to her throat.

Sesshomaru took a step with his poison dripping from his claws to hit the floor creating small divets as the stone burnt away from his toxicity. "Come any closer and I will snap her neck."

Stilling he placed his foot back to his original position and straightened himself out.

"Seize him." Naraku ordered as Sesshomaru recalled his poison and allowed them to bring him to his knees.

"Sesshomaru…" Kagome said uncertain of what was going on. She could feel his energy, raw and untethered, it was impressive but unable to use it as she was being held against him.

"Quiet." Naraku squeezed her throat tightly. "You are mine to do with as I please. Your demon husband will watch as I take you."

Forcing her onto the bed she screamed as he pinned her. In an instant Sesshomaru grasped one of the guards swords from his hand breaking his arm in the process.

Kicking at his middle the man crashed out of the room onto the balcony. Easily cutting down the others as Naraku forced himself on Kagome she fought like mad.

Biting, scratching, and gouging she suddenly released a burst of pink energy that sent Naraku and Sesshomaru flying to crash into opposite walls.

Sitting up quickly she went to her mate seeing he was unconscious.

"Sesshomaru! Sesshomaru! Oh no. What have I done?" She lamented. Hearing Naraku moan she stood up quickly taking a discarded sword.

Chuckling low he stood. His long hair stood wild and on end as if he had been electrocuted.

"How very amusing. Now I understand, you are the one who dismantled the seal."

His eyes glowing red Kagome gasped holding the weapon out in front of herself to point at him. "You're a demon?"

"Half-breed but…shhhh," Placing his fingers to his lips he smirked, "It's a secret." Coming at her before she could register he had moved he had the sword in his hand dropping it to the floor. "Your power is incredible. Unfortunately you are tapped out due to your inexperience in harnessing it. Still, you will be of great use to me."

Grabbing her by the wrist to pull her to him he pulled her to him and wrestled her down to the ground. "Now, where were we?"

"Sesshomaru! Wake up! Sesshomaru!" She shouted as Naraku pressed his weight down on her holding her down.

"Yes, yell for your beloved as I take my pleasure with you." He sneered.

"No! Please, don't!" She screamed as he savagely ripped at her clothes. "Someone, anyone! Help me!"
