Master Mushin called in Kagome and Sesshomaru to the altar room. Kneeling front of them he let out a sigh.

"The humans are uniting. After so many years we have been found out. As far as I know they still do not know where we are." He said. "They are rallying in the central lands at the Kimuyra compound. All attempts to break the seal there have been futile."

"All of the demons there are too afraid to step forward as others have, as you were able too Lord Sesshomaru. I am sorry to ask either of you this…"

"Yes." Kagome answered. "We will go and we will help."

"Absolutely." Sesshomaru said as well.

"Miroku will join you to assist. I suggest you choose a cover to explain your presence. More than likely they will know who you are Lady Kagome and question your absence as you have been more than likely presumed dead." Mushin explained.

"Yes, more than likely." She repeated. Leaving the building to go in to the courtyard they were arm in arm. "What story should we make up?"

"I will leave that to you my love. I am certain you will think of something." Sesshomaru smirked at her.

"It's been a few years since I have had too but you're right. I will." Smiling up at him she sighed suddenly. "We can't take Shippo, Rin, or Inuyasha with us. It will be hard to leave the children."

"Yes but they are safe here and protected by those who care for them as we do. I'll send word to Koga where he lives with Ayame for them to come here. Request he accompanies us and for her to stay." He said.

"That would be best for her and their cubs." Kagome agreed.

"I am worried what will happen to you. If all goes well you will be taken in to the mansion where I cannot be by your side." Turning to face her she reached up to brush his cheek and trace his stripes with her fingertips.

"We did it once. We can do it again. I am always with you just as you are always with me love." Kagome assured. Kissing at her fingertips Sesshomaru gave a small nod.

They met with Miroku and, to their surprise, Sango. While she had kept her oath of silence she had devoted her life to the service of others still, understandably, Sesshomaru did not give her acknowledgment.

"Sango will be coming with us. As part of her desire to atone she will help us to dismantle the Kimuyra compound." Miroku informed.

"Fine." Sesshomaru said curtly.

"Alright." Kagome replied. "We can make this work. I will go as Kagome Higurashi, I will tell them that for the last few years Sango and I have been kept safe by Miroku and two loyal demon servants who saved us from certain death in the Higurashi compound."

"Sango, can you act as my lady in waiting?" Receiving a nod from her Kagome took a breath. "Good. Don't worry about breaking your vow of silence. I can do all the talking for both of us."

Sango briefly gave a small smirk and nodded her head again.

"If harm comes to my wife or you fail in anyway I will not spare your life again." Sesshomaru warned her. Nodding again she bowed to him in understanding.

"I will also accompany the women." Miroku said. "Kagome and I can dismantle the seal. Sango will act as our body guard. Sesshomaru, along with Koga, will infiltrate the slaves quarters and go from there."

"Understood." Sesshomaru glanced to Kagome who wore a determined look on her face. He knew she could do it but still he worried.

Taking her hand to help her stand it was decided they would leave in a weeks time.

Going to their own quarters Inuyasha sat with Rin and Shippo as she read to them. Seeing the door open Inuyasha jumped up running to his parents.

Sesshomaru scooped their son up in his arms holding him close. He and Kagome sat on the futon in front of Rin and Shippo.

"There is a compound that needs our help." Sesshomaru began. "You mother and I will be leaving to assist the demons enslaved there."

"You're going away papa?" Inuyasha asked looking up at his father with round golden orbs and his small ears twitching nervously.

"Yes son. We are. You will remain here with your brother and sister, as well as the others." Watching their little child tear up broke his heart.

"Mama, don't go." Inuyasha whined moving from his father to his mother burying his face in her kimono.

"Inuyasha, there are a lot of people who need help. Papa and I along with Miroku, Koga, and Sango are the only ones strong enough to do it."

Kissing the top of his head he sobbed. "When we come back we will bring more people with us, more friends."

"I don't want friends!" He yelled.

"Come here pup." Sesshomaru pried him off of his mother and stood him up. "You need to stay here to protect everyone with the Tessaiga. I am trusting you, Rin, and Shippo to take care of the others while we are gone."

Sniffling he lowered his head. Sesshomaru took his chin to lift his gaze to his. "Never bow to anyone Inuyasha."

"You are this Sesshomarus son, the grandson of the great dog general of the west and the lady of the celestial palace in the heavens. Be proud of who you are and never submit to anyone."

"Yes papa." He managed out from quivering lips. Kagome wiped his face looking to Rin and Shippo. They both wore the same expression of fear but also understanding.

They both knew what it was like in a compound and knew the risks of them going. Rin crawled over to them both with Shippo on her shoulder.

"Promise you will come back." Rin said softly to them both. Kagome reached out for them taking them in an embrace.

"All will be well." Sesshomaru assured. "We have been through much worse and thrived. Together we will continue to do so."

Gathering his mixed family to him Sesshomaru provided the shelter and protection for them he so desperately had wanted for so long.

It brought him peace knowing he was able to support the ones he had come to love the most.
