Shorter chapter, I know, don't worry. It's because I couldn't put what I wanted in there, or it would be too long, so it'll be split in two chapters.
Main ship is going to be at least IzuKyokaMomo as well as with at least one more character that I will add in a really long time in the story. There probably will be more girls as well, but I'll see. I'm going to try to take my time with them, and develop everything accordingly.
Just so we're sure, there won't be any IzuKaede. That's his sister.
On that, I hope you will enjoy this chapter.
Izuku appeared on the other side of the wasteland, almost in a pool of dirty water. The portal closed instantly behind him, leaving the boy alone, half naked and covered in blood. He took a look around himself, verifying he wasn't in some other sort of parallel dimension, before pulling his phone out of his pocket, with its shattered screen.
"How do I explain that to mom? And the blood?" he sighed. He looked at the time, seeing he was barely gone an hour, which meant he had been in the dungeon for a bit less than ten hours.
He started to walk back to his apartment, jumping above the barrier when he arrived at the parking lot. He didn't really have anything else to do, and he had to get to his home at some point. There were few people, but the ones that saw him looked actually pretty scared. He couldn't blame them, really.
He walked up the stairs, meeting one of the elderly neighbours of the building.
"Congratulations, young man." she said, continuing to go down the stairs at a very slow pace. The boy just looked at her with wonder.
"Huh?"
"This blood isn't yours, you don't have any injury." she continued with a smile, finally passing next to him.
Oh, yeah, she thought he had fought and won, since his injuries had already healed. Well, technically, he did fight and he did win, but part of the blood was still his.
"Thank you ma'am." he said with a smile, continuing going up.
He finally reached his apartment door, opening it with his key. Just two steps after entering, he heard his mom question him.
"Izuku, is that you?"
Oh, boy. Problems.
"Yeah, it's me." he answered, closing the door behind him. He walked to where she was, seeing she was drinking tea on the table of the small kitchen.
The second she saw the blood, her eyes widened.
"What happened to you?" she asked, quickly getting up, rushing to him. She looked at his body, but couldn't find any mark.
"Quick story: got into a fight with dinosaurs, won, gained height and muscles." he just said. She looked up, and noticed that indeed, he was even taller than before.
"As long as you win, it's fine, but you should be careful… And dinosaurs?"
"Yeah, a strange story, but it's the truth." he told her
"If you say so… Are you in trouble?"
"Nah." That was a blatant lie, what he had learnt in the dungeon was anything but good, and not only him, but the entire world, was in terrible trouble. But if he told her, he knew she would worry too hard and it would be nocive.
"Okay. Are you going to continue to grow? And where did your wings go ?" she asked. Izuku just blinked. He didn't expect his mother to be so… understanding.
"No, I should have reached my maximum height, as for the wings, I learned to retract them." he added with a small smile. He always forgot she was born in those streets and lived her entire life here. She must have seen the worst cases of fights. She was pretty sure his father, when alive, got into many too.
"Then we can buy clothes again!" she said with a smile.
Oh. No. That was why she didn't comment.
"Mom, not this agai-"
"I couldn't sleep, so I browsed the shops of the city. There are plenty who offer great clothes!" she continued, her smile growing wider as she took her phone, scrolling down websites she had scouted.
"Mom, those are from the other side of the city. How do you even want us to pay for these?" he asked, sighing. She never learnt, did she?
"Well, do you remember that old man you healed at the hospital?" she asked, looking at him.
"Yeah, I do, but I don't see how it changes anything. And how do you even know about it?" he continued, with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, his son sent a letter. He's a rich dude from America! Apparently the old man never felt better, so he sent money in appreciation!" she exclaimed herself.
This was… too strangely convenient.
"...How much did he send?"
"500 000 Yens!"
"We're moving out of there." Izuku said in a hurry, rushing to his room. His mother followed him with curiosity on her face.
"What do you mean?"
"There's a rich guy in the poor part of Mustafu, he sent plenty of money when I didn't give either my name, or my address. Why would he do that? Why would he not use that money to pay for an actually nice hospital? That's usually how mass murderers' story start. We're next." he said, searching through his storage.
"You're just being psychotic," she said with a smile. "He's just being nice. He could have grown up here and been attached to the city."
"My ass. Nobody stays here because they're nostalgic."
"Either way, we're not moving out, and we're going shopping. Oh, Mitsuki and Masaru are coming too, so go take a shower now, I'll tell them you came back home."
"Why would they even come? Don't they have more interesting stuff to do?" he asked.
"Since you're discharged, we thought we could celebrate it by going to the temporary theme park after picking your sister and Katsuki up from school." she continued, back in the kitchen.
"How do you want to pay for that, too?" he yelled.
"I just won 700 000 Yens in the span of a day with you, I have plenty to spend on various shit!"
This was going to be a very long afternoon.
Izuku exited the car, looking at the school that was barely a few metres away from him.
"Feels like I've not been here for weeks." he said with a smile. Shopping had been particularly long, so he could say these kinds of things.
"They're not going to recognise you! You went from a scrawny ass kid to a smoking hot man. If I was eighteen I'd eat you like a snack. " Mitsuki replied, as she left the car from behind him. They all had taken his mother's car.
"How can you even say that with your husband centimetres away from you?" the green-haired kid replied with a disappointed tone. He was lucky Masaru was the chillest guy in the entire city, and probably in Japan.
The brown-haired man laughed openly, as he also exited the car. Everybody knew it was a joke, so he didn't care much, because Masaru had little to no competition with the woman. He worked in fashion, and since Inko and Mitsuki did modelling in their youth, the blond woman loved her husband's work. Plus, he was the kindest man in town, and among the hottest, easily.
He was the one that helped him choose clothes, saving him from his mother and the deranged godmother he had. Izuku was currently wearing a brown jean, with a dark green hoodie that went with his hair. He had pure white shoes to go with the set, and he had to admit he actually liked its entirety.
"Don't worry, Izu, I understand her. If I was gay and twenty four years younger I'd eat you like a snack too." he added with a grin, the boy's mother and Mitsuki giggling.
"Oh boy, the whole family's teaming up on me." he said with a hidden smirk. He went toward the school, entering the portal without anyone saying anything about it, followed closely by the three adults.
"I'll go search for a uniform!" Inko said, before disappearing in the building, hopping from left to right. The three others just remained behind, looking at her go with smiles.
"She's pretty happy today." Masaru said.
"Izuku got out of the hospital, became strong, so less chances of him getting in danger, and won her 700 000 Yens. You bet she's happy." Mitsuki added with a grin. "It's just as big of a news as Katsuki getting a girlfriend."
"I don't think we'll see that for quite some time, love." Masaru told her.
"A mother can dream."
The bell rang, and Izuku could already hear from outside the running students, who just wanted on this superb Friday evening to get the fuck out of this school.
"Night's already falling…" Izuku said, looking at the sky.
"It is, right? I don't know how you're not wrapped in a coat like your mother." Masaru said. The two Bakugos wore normal coats, as they had naturally a high body temperature with their Quirks, but his mother, since she was just as normal as anyone else, was wrapped in a coat, a scarf, and she had even brought mittens.
"Don't need to anymore." he said with a smile, flames appearing in his hand. The man nodded, while Mitsuki looked at his powers in wonder.
"You still didn't tell us what you can do with that new Quirk."
"Oh, I think you'll see pretty soon."
The second he saw the messy blond hair appear from the door, an explosion appearing in his palm, he smiled. He was indeed going to show what he could do.
Kaede was putting things in her bag, tidying her stuff. She just wanted to escape this place and go back home, where she hoped she could see her brother.
She had a very strong bond with the boy. If anything, he was the person she trusted the most in her life. Her father died when she was still a baby, and her mother worked very hard to supply the family of three. Her brother often had to take care of her, even if he was barely older.
He had never yelled at her, never tried to do as much as offend her. He was just a bunch of joy to be around. But over the years, the light in his eyes started to slightly tame, and she seemed to be the only one to see it.
He smiled all the same, but over the last two or three years, his eyes didn't shine as much.
Maybe it was because he was growing older, or because he was changing. But she was always scared it was something else. She feared she was failing him when he had given her everything.
Suddenly, the sound of an explosion was heard by the entire school. The neighbourhood was very used to these sounds: Katsuki Bakugo had used his Quirk.
Around her, she started to hear words she didn't really comprehend, as the explosions started to appear more and more often. Meh, he was either showing off, or menacing anyone. Nothing really new.
"Kaede, look!" one of her friends said, grabbing her by the shoulder and pulling toward the window.
"Raaah, what again-..." she ranted, before stopping immediately.
Katsuki was fighting with another boy, one she recognized just as soon as her eyes laid on him. She had seen his picture a few hours ago, and the colour of the hair just didn't lie.
Izuku.
She started to rush for the door of the class, but her friend called her.
"You won't see anything down there, just look from here!" she said.
She considered it, before deciding the other girl was right. She went back to the window, looking very closely at what was happening.
The two boys were exchanging blows, sometimes dodging, but most of the hits connected from both sides. The two friends, or more like brothers, never fought, for reasons the girl had always thought were obvious.
One, Izuku could never last more than two seconds. And two, there were no reasons for them to fight. But it seemed she was very wrong, they were very up to fight themselves if they both had the power to.
Bakugo tried to punch Izuku in the stomach, with an uppercut, but the green-haired teenager dodged by turning himself to the right, before punching Bakugo right in the face, with such force the boy was sent a few feets back.
When did he get so fast, so strong? She was sure he became tall, but he seemed even taller. He was even taller than Katsuki at that point. And these kinds of reflexes? It felt like he was a regular of fights, when in reality it was the first time he actually managed to fight with someone.
The blond boy was far from down, as he rushed for his opponent. Izuku tried to grab him, but Bakugo let himself fall backward, feinting, before giving a hit to the boy's face with his foot. Izuku spit blood, but didn't let himself fall, as he grabbed Bakugo's leg, and showing again a great display of strength, threw him away.
The blond boy landed more or less successfully, as the two looked at each other. The class had opened the windows, and in such could hear what the two said.
"Is that all, Bastard?" Bakugo asked, cracking his knuckles. Izuku spit blood on the ground, a smirk still on his face.
"You haven't seen shit, but I'm scared of killing you. Not sure you'd come back to life." he answered.
"Show me." Bakugo added with a grin on his face. The green-haired boy tilted his head from one side to the other, before closing his eyes.
"As you wish."
'Unequip.'
His hoodie, and shirt under it both disappeared, as he appeared completely shirtless, not aware that the entire school was looking at him, his chiselled body displayed to everyone. Bakugo raised an eyebrow, his grin widening even more.
"What, you're going to strip? That's all?"
Izuku laughed, moving his head as an answer.
"Nah, but I just bought these, don't want to damage it."
'Defensive Mode.'
His wings sprouted from his back, leaving everyone speechless at the display. They just didn't know he was far from done.
'How do I summon the dinosaurs already?' He asked the System. Truth to be told, he had never thought about how to summon them since he made them disappear.
- Notice: Another key word different from the one to extract them should be enough. -
Well, he had something in mind then.
"Arise." he mumbled, the effect being instantaneous.
The five monsters he had saved as his summons all started to appear from his back. Five jets of completely black flames went in every direction, before igniting in greater flames.
Four Jaggis, just as he remembered them, appeared in the dark flames, their red vibrant eyes being the only part of a different colour, as well as the Great Jaggi, which was even taller than Izuku, obviously.
Finally, his sword appeared in his hand. Just like he had done the other time, he slashed the air with it, the metal being surrounded with fire. Izuku grinned menacingly, before he decided to finish the power play.
'Attack mode.'
His wings ignited as well, and with that, if Bakugo wanted to truly fight, he was ready.
Kaede was looking at the entire scene with a dumbfounded face. First, she had seen her brother's transformation, which was already stupidly incredible. Then, she saw him fight, just as well if not better than Katsuki, who was the best in that domain. And then, he started to… literally use what seemed like magic. The heat was so strong she could even feel it intensely from where she was
Just what had happened to him?
But the two boys seemed to be done waiting. They were walking toward each other slowly, the monsters behind Izuku walking dangerously as well.
"Wouldn't it be a good idea to stop them?" someone next to her eventually asked.
"Who?" one answered. And they all shut up, knowing there was just no way anybody in school could interfere.
They both stopped in front of each other, the dark creatures surrounding the two, looking passively at what would happen. Everyone held their breath..
Until they both just smashed their hands together, grinning like idiots.
"You actually aren't a weakling anymore." Bakugo said.
"Yeah, how does it feel to not be special anymore?" Izuku responded.
It was enough for Kaede. She grabbed her bag, and sprinted downstairs as fast as she could. She pushed everyone on her way, not bothering to apologise when she almost threw them to the ground. Soon, she was outside, and she spotted Bakugo and her brother.
Izuku's wings and summons had disappeared, as well as his sword. The hoodie was back on him, and he was just talking with his friend.
With his Sense, he noticed her pretty easily, and turned his head mid sentence to see her running toward him. He smiled slightly, when she crashed into him, wrapping her arms around his waist, hugging him as hard as she could. A few days ago, it would have hurt him, but now he barely felt it.
She felt his strong arms wrap around herself, and wondered just what else he had gained.
"You shcared me." she mumbled into his body, as the height difference between the two was now of more than twenty centimetres. He laughed as a response.
"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere," he replied. She got out of his chest, looking at him.
"Just what happened to you?" she asked. His face went just a little colder, looking at her and his blonde friend.
"I'll tell you both later." he just said quietly. They both understood it was going to be a very long story, and pretty serious, if even him found it was better to be kept secret.
"You both scared me! And 'sup Kaede." Mitsuki said, approaching the group.
"Hello." the girl replied.
"Even if I beat the hell out of Katsuki, I could have healed him after." Izuku started with a smile.
"Keep dreaming, Nerd. And you can heal people too?" the other added.
"Yeah."
"Sick."
"Yeah."
"Can you two NPCs shut up?" the green-haired girl added, receiving glares from the two boys. Mitsuki just laughed.
"Oh, yeah, we didn't tell you, but we're going to the theme park." the mother said, looking at the two kids who just left school.
Both of their ears perked. They had always been fans of rollercoasters. It was just sick.
"Wait, are we going in our uniforms?" Katsuki asked. His mother looked at him with a grin.
"There's clothes waiting for you in the car."
Silence.
"What the fuck do you mean, in the car?"
"We thought it would be a better idea to use our feet, it can't hurt anyone."
"How do you want me to change, then, you stupid hag?"
"In the car. And don't talk to me like that." she said, hitting the back of his head with a smirk. Kaede started to leave, laughing as she did so, while Izuku grinned. However, Inko, who just came back, smiled too.
"Same for you, Kaede!" she told the smaller copy of her. There was silence, as shock appeared on the girl's face.
"You want me to change in a car?"
"That's what I just said."
"But I'm a girl!"
"And?"
Izuku exploded into laughter, leaving toward the gate of the school, while the two kids continued to argue with their respective parents.
"You weren't making such a different face when you changed your clothes like thirty minutes ago." Masaru told him with a smile, receiving a wink from the boy.
"A man shall enjoy the pain of the enemies following in his tracks. Sun Tzu, probably."
Masaru just laughed.
Momo Yaoyorozu didn't really know how to feel right now.
She had been thrilled when her parents had told her and her best and only friend, Kyoka Jiro, that they would go for a walk in Mustafu.
The two girls have been friends since they were young. Momo's parents, as they were very rich, among the richest in Japan, had travelled a good amount of times for various reasons. As such, she never went to school, and it wasn't a problem to her anyway, since she was incredibly intelligent. She could learn things on her own.
One day, as she was in England, for what she remembered was a business trip, her parents decided to go to a concert, to distract the girl who was bored to death. In one of the VIP lounges, she met Kyoka, and the two Japanese girls interacted for the first time, far away from their original country.
She learned that the dark purple-haired girl had her parents playing in the band that was doing the concert. Just like her, Kyoka didn't go to school, and she went from country to country for her parents' needs.
They both were the very first kids they actually liked, and became very good friends before the end of the concert. That same night, they went to a restaurant with their parents together. Soon, they were like sisters.
Their parents decided it maybe wasn't a great idea to keep the kids with them together, and since the Yaoyorozus had many properties all around the globe, they settled on letting them stay in one of their rich houses in Japan.
The two girls became like sisters, living in the same house for years, just like they still did now. However, it wasn't in Mustafu, but in some rich neighbourhood of Tokyo. They continued to learn together, far away from any school.
But the two girls wanted to go to UA, to become heroes. None of them could really explain why they wanted to become heroes, other than they had the envy of helping people. Kyoka didn't really feel like becoming a musician, even though music was her greatest passion, and Momo had no envy of doing business like her parents.
The Yaoyorozus, still supportive anyway, bought a new mansion, just on a small hill next to Mustafu. The two girls had moved in a few weeks earlier, and this trip in town was one of their very first outings.
Momo knew her mother used to live there: she used to be far from rich. When she went to America, sent on a school trip of two years, she met her father, and never really moved back to the town. However, she had easily spent twenty years there.
She also knew her mother wasn't fortunate. She now was what anyone would call a very proper and exemplary lady, but her father often counted how she was more of a punk when they met. The woman's language sure didn't help: in private, she often used various rude words that the younger girl promised herself not to say.
So, back to the trip in the town. Her parents were with her and Kyoka. The first part was awesome: they visited the town, even saw UA, and did various fun activities. However, soon, her mother insisted on showing them where she grew up.
Momo had never felt so uneasy in her whole life. People were dressed in strange clothes, some seemed to barely care about their looks. She heard words that would make anyone in any upper class of society pass for an imposter, and their hair styles, or accessories, or anything, made her feel… different.
There were no houses, no big fences with decorations: just buildings, where people were stacked in. Shops overflowed on the sidewalks, and she had seen some people insult themselves.
But all around her, in all this poverty, she mostly saw smiles and laughs, casual conversations, and even some kids having fun like they could. It still didn't really make her feel better.
Some ogled her, Kyoka, and her family. They were dressed in expensive clothes, wore several kinds of jewellery, and just overall, it was easy to notice they weren't from this part of the town. Her mother fit just a bit better, with an ease Momo really didn't match, but it was all.
So, naturally, it was just a question of time before a group of strange people accosted them, telling the family to follow them.
"Why would we?" her mother had asked with narrowed eyebrows.
Momo had not seen one of the men get closer behind them, and when she heard the click of a swiss knife next to her ear, she almost jumped.
"I don't think you have a choice."
And so, they ended in a dark alley, a sort of dead end, where a dozen men dressed in black were surrounding them.
To her, it was like some sort of film, with how cliché the clothes of the people who menaced her were.
She could maybe create a weapon, and fight them, but if they were like the gangsters in those films, where they learned how to fight harshly since their youth, then she had no chance against all of them at the same time.
That was why she was almost scared to death, her hands behind her head, waiting for the leader of those guys to give his orders. Kyoka and her father didn't seem any better, though her mother was just glaring at the man without any sign of fear. She did let herself be dragged around, though, probably because they had menaced her daughter.
"Who the fuck are you guys?" Aroma Yaoyorozu asked, glaring at their leader. He just laughed, moving his hand in the air, some guys getting closer on them.
"Don't worry, cooperate, and we won't do anything to you. Just give everything of value you have to us. As for who we are, we are the gang of Dragons." he answered.
"Bullshit, there's no gang in Mustafu. I'm born in those streets, I know that better than anyone." she replied with venom in her voice. She was itching for a fight. If only the girls and her husband, who couldn't even hurt a fly, could leave, she'd rip that guy to shreds.
"Yes, there are. We are changing that." the leader replied with a harsh stone, visibly offended.
"Nah, there aren't. We may be poor, but we don't have 'gangs' like you say. You just are scums." she replied, with a tone even harsher.
Things were escalating quickly, and Momo could clearly see Kyoka gulp. She was scared shitless, which was very normal. Her father seemed also on the verge of fainting.
"'We'? Who the fuck is We. You may be born here, but you don't seem very poor. Maybe you managed to get out of there by marrying some rich guy, but we're still stuck here." the leader replied with a menacing tone, putting himself right in front of the woman.
"Naaah, she's right, you guys are just scums." a voice said from behind the group.
From the alley where they came, two new boys, who looked to be of the same age as the two girls, had walked in. Both had red eyes, but one had spikey blond hair, while the other had smoother, but messy green hair, and his eyes shined a lot more. They were both really tall.
The blond wore a white hoodie with black pants and shoes, while the other had a dark green hoodie, with a brown jean and white shoes.
The taller of the two, with green hair, made a mimic of loudly sniffing the air, before sighing harshly.
"See? I was right, it does smell like bitches in here." he said with a feral grin.
One of the members of the 'gang' got closer to the two, menacing them with a bat.
"What do you two guys want? You have business with the Dragons?"
The blond laughed loudly, taking a few steps forward.
"Dragons? A gang? You're obviously not from there. Old lady here's right, there's no gang in Mustafu. You're just some sort of clown." he replied, looking at the shorter man with eyes full of confidence.
"I'll show you!" the man yelled angrily, rushing with his bat on the blonde.
Momo looked at everything in horror, as she expected the gang member to beat the boy to death. However, to her surprise, the blonde easily stopped him, by taking a huge step forward, blocking the guy's arm with his left hand, before snatching the bat with his right one. He then pushed the guy backwards, making him lose his balance, before hitting the inside of his leg with the bat.
A loud crack was heard, and everyone flinched in knowledge of what happened, while the man who just got hit fell to the ground, rolling around in pain.
"That's why you don't let the inside of your legs open. It's the easiest place to break it." the blond said a grin. The green-haired one laughed, taking a few steps forward as well.
"You guys are definitely not from here. Don't know shit about fighting, bla-bla-bla imaginary gangs… I don't know why grown ass men would want to dress up as gangsters, but well, I don't care." he said with a serene smile.
The tension started to get heavier, and both girls were feeling worse and worse about everything.
"What do you want?" the leader asked the two teenagers.
"Well, it's not that hard to understand, no? You let them go, we don't do shit." the blonde replied.
Momo felt a blade press onto her neck, and she stiffened.
"I think you're going to surrender yourselves, or we kill them." one of the men said.
For a second, the eyes of the boy darkened, as he watched all of the men take out various weapons from anywhere.
And then, he smiled, raised his hand, and absolutely all of their weapons flew into his waiting hand.
For a second, Aroma's eyes widened in recognition. The Quirk, the green hair…
And that other boy, blond spikey hair with red eyes…
'Wait…' she thought.
"I almost forgot you could still do this." Bakugo told his friend.
"Same. It doesn't look quite as cool as this, though. Arise."
Black flames left from his back, before forming monsters Momo was honestly scared of, even more than the men holding her captive. They looked like dinosaurs, and one of them was at the very least three metres tall and eight metres long.
The men, all around her, were starting to sweat profusely. These newcomers seemed like trouble, they definitely knew how to fight and were far from scared of doing so. However, they were still eleven to two, so what could go wrong?
One, rather tall, sprinted from behind Kyoka to the green-haired one, yelling in hope he'd intimidate the boy. However, Momo just saw a serene smile on his face, as he waited for the gangster to get closer.
She understood why he felt confident when, before anyone could notice he had moved, he had taken several steps forward, punching the man square in the face, sending him into unconsciousness immediately. She had almost not seen his arm shoot from his sides, and she had trained her reflexes for hero training.
The gangster fell on the ground in an almost comical manner, eating the tar as he did so. Izuku grinned, looking at his summons.
"If a man, except the black-haired man here," he said, pointing to the hostage. "...tries to pass past you, kill him. If it's a woman, let her go." he told them. They shrieked in acceptance, and the mood radically changed when the other men processed the order that had been given.
"You think you can kill us? We work for the Yakuzas!" one of the men said. However, it was very obvious his voice was shaking, likely with fear.
Momo was starting to realise what was happening. The guys that tried to rob them were not from there, that part became obvious. However, the ones in front of them were, that she had no doubt, and her opinion was slowly shifting.
She was becoming more and more scared of the two red-eyed teenagers, instead of the 'gang'.
And it just became worse when the palms of the blond's hands exploded, while the other one made a sword appear out of nowhere, which was scary in its own way, but it became even scarier when it lit up in fire.
"Yakuzas have a work ethic. They usually have bigger plans than stalking and assaulting a bunch of women at night." the blond said calmly. "As for the killing part, it just means you really are not from here." he finished with a downright evil grin.
Silence passed, as the words were slowly understood by everyone. Aroma did her best to contain her smirk, while her family and the gang all started to shit themselves.
The green-haired kid took two one step forward, when the leader finally spoke.
"We surrender!" he said. He had thought playing bad guys in another city would be easy money, but there was no way he would ever set a foot in here, ever again.
"Let them go." the teenager just simply added.
Momo felt every person around her take several steps backwards, letting her and Kyoka completely free. Her parents were also left alone, and Aroma stomped the foot of a man when she walked next to him. He cried in pain, but didn't dare do anything in return in case that guy latched his monsters at him.
The family walked to the two teenagers, who pointed with their heads to the side of the alley, silently asking for them to wait.
"I knew it, they're not done with us." Momo whispered to Kyoka, who just nodded solemnly.
The two girls passed next to the monsters made of flames, who looked at them with their crimson eyes as they passed. They just made their best not to flinch when the biggest one let his head go down, following them with his sights.
"Alright, done." the leader said, his two hands up in the air.
There was another silence, before the two teenagers grinned.
"You didn't think you'd be free, right?" the blond said. All the men of the gang stiffened.
"What do you mean?" one asked.
"The thing is, people like you never learn. Plus, you refused our first fair trade of letting them go, and attacked us instead. I hope you didn't think we'd let it slide just like that, that would be terribly bad for our image." the green-haired one completed.
They took several steps forward, looking very ready to fight, while the men started to back down.
'Oh god.' Momo thought. 'We're going to watch them kill these guys.'
"Please! We have some cash." one of them started, shaking, falling to the ground while trying to walk backwards.
"I can get that on your corpse by myself." the green-haired one simply replied, seemingly not caring in the slightest.
"You won't get away with it!" another said, while Momo could literally hear his teeth clanking in fear.
"Why don't you think there are no gangs in town? We take them down ourselves." the blond finished.
As it was a dead end, the men were soon packed against the wall, while the two teenagers were slowly getting to the last few metres that separated them from the group.
"I beg you, stop! I have money!" the one who fell, and couldn't back down fast enough said, as Izuku pointed his swords toward him. The flames were stupidly hot, and just being close enough to the sword probably felt like being stuck in an uncontrolled fire.
"Oh, do you?" he asked.
"I have 10 000 Yens I stole from the grocery store down there!"
"Which one?"
"I don't know! The name was like 'Pepe's Family store' or something!"
The two teenagers nodded to themselves, before the tallest teenager looked back at him.
"Give it, along with every single thing of value you have. Even your clothes." he finished.
The guy stripped so fast anyone would have thought he actually worked in a bar, putting everything very orderly to the feet of the teenager. He was left in his underwear, which was part of Endeavor's merchandise.
Izuku looked through everything, the clothes disappearing after he analysed them. Nobody knew, but it just went in his inventory. He could sell these things pretty easily. He threw the keys at the man's face, but kept the phone. He was not going to rob their houses.
"Go take everything of value to that guy." he pointed to the one he had punched, and was rendered unconscious. He also saw that the other one, who had a broken leg, was looking at them in terror from where he was on the ground.
"Heal." he said, snapping a finger, purely for theatrics.
A strange yellow light engulfed the man, who stopped shaking in pain. It took a few seconds for everyone to understand what had happened.
"It's not broken anymore. Better put everything of value in front of you, though. And you all, too." he finished, toward the rest of the gang.
It took him and Katsuki ten minutes to see what they wanted to keep. All of the men gave them their money, as well as where they stole it from. The two teenagers nodded to themselves every time they heard the locations.
Finally, when it was done, Izuku muttered "Disappear." and the summons behind him disappeared into his back. His sword vanished as well, and he put his hands in his pocket, nodding to the other boy.
"Alright, you're all free to go. Take your friend with you, too, before we change our mind." he finished, pointing to the still unconscious man.
Momo had never seen people run so fast. If this was Japan's olympic team, they would have won every single competition.
But the small family was left alone with the two teenagers, who were still dead silent.
Momo waited in anticipation, as the two boys didn't move, as if they were waiting for something. They started to shake, and she feared they were upset.
And then, they burst into laughter, barely holding themselves together.
"'It means you guys are really not from there', what the fuck went through your head when you said that?" Izuku said between two howls of laughter.
"I don't fucking know! I was inspired when you said your shitty dinosaurs would kill them!" the other responded, and he seemed to have trouble breathing with how hard the laughs were.
"Are you guys done?" another voice asked.
The little family turned toward the entrance of the alley, where an average height green-haired girl, wrapped in her coat, was looking at them.
"Yeah, yeah, they ran away." the green-haired teenager replied.
"We kinda saw." she added. "And why are these guys still here?" she pointed to Momo and her family with her head.
"I don't know?" Katsuki responded, drying a tear of his eye with a hand. "Hey, you can go. It was just made so they couldn't attack you in revenge when we let them go." he added.
"You're not going to take anything from us?" Kyoka asked incredulously. Momo nodded as well, it was hard to believe.
"Please, we're not like them. We don't kill, we don't even steal." Izuku finished.
"But you threatened them to do so? And took their belongings?" Cyrus, Momo's father, said. Both kids exploded with laughter again.
"They're not from here, they don't know shit about this city. We don't kill anyone. Why do you think there's no gang? UA is on the other side of the city, they would never let that slide. We may be poor, but we're not savages." Katsuki responded.
It… made a lot of sense, Momo realised. She was about to say something, but her mother interrupted her.
"Inko?" she asked, looking at the green-haired girl.
The three new teenagers stopped, confusion appearing on their faces. Then, the girl turned herself toward where the main road was.
"MOOOOOOOOOOOM! THERE'S SOME LADY CALLING ME BY YOUR NAME!"
"Don't be so loud, Kaede, I heard you just fine." another voice said. A whole new group of people, this time adults, arrived. There was one lady, who looked like just a copy of the girl, a blonde woman, who had the same features as the blond teenager, and a brown-haired man.
"You guys got them good. They all left screaming like children." the blonde woman said, a grin on her face.
"You didn't have to take their clothes, though." the other woman continued. "So, what's the problem?"
"Inko? Mitsuki? Masaru?"
Silence passed, as the three women, and the brown-haired adult, looked at themselves, before something lit up in Mitsuki's eyes.
"Aroma?"
The two others caught up to what their friend and wife meant, before their eyes widened at the same time.
"No way!" Masaru exclaimed.
"Holy shit, this is so awkward." Momo heard one of the teenagers say.
"Let's fuck off before we can't anymore." another one said.
"Moom, we're going to give back what they stole, see you later!" the girl said, as the three of them literally ran away.
"You should maybe follow them." Momo's mother told the girls, who just looked at her with discomfort. How was she supposed to follow these strangers when she didn't know them? And they may have not killed that false gang, but they still beat up two of them, threatened to do more, and stole their stuff.
Well, they did save them, but still.
It was Kyoka who went forward, surprising her 'sister'.
"Let's go." she said with a comforting smile. Momo nodded briefly, before leaving with the dark purple-haired girl. They arrived on the main road, where they saw the three teenagers leaving.
"Hey!" Kyoka said, running to them. They stopped, looking at them with curiosity. The girl reached them, before stopping by their side. "Could we accompany you? I think your parents are not going to be done soon enough with ours."
"Do whatever you want." the blond boy replied with a shrug, something that didn't really inspire confidence.
"Don't mind him, he's always grumpy." the girl continued. "Name's Kaede Midoriya, that's Izuku, and Katsuki Bakugo." she finished.
"What she said." Izuku told the girls with a smile.
"Thank you. My name is Momo Yaoyorozu, and this is Kyoka Jiro. Pleased to meet you, Mi-"
"I'm stopping you now, just call us by our actual names. We don't do family names in that part of Mustafu." Izuku interrupted with a smirk.
Momo didn't respond yet, as she thought about it. It wasn't polite at all to call someone by their first names, and Kyoka's family and hers were the only ones who called her by her name. She wasn't really comfortable with letting these strangers use-
"If you don't want to call us by our names, just don't say it and use 'You' or 'He', and we'll use your last name when speaking to you. There's no fucking need making disapproving faces in front of us." the blond said with a scowl, walking away. The green-haired teenager nodded, following after his friend.
"You kinda searched for that one. If you want to be polite until the end, don't make these grimaces in front of the people you talk to." Kaede added, leaving after them.
"It's not going great, is it?" Kyoka mumbled, receiving a nod from her friend. "Wanna go back?"
Momo rubbed her mittens one against the other, wondering if she should continue. They had shown themselves rather tolerant, and it wasn't really her fault her emotions reflected on her face. But, they had still saved her, and she wasn't comfortable being without them in this unknown place, so…
"Let's continue." she finally said.
The other girl nodded, and they both went after the little group. They just walked closely behind them, without saying anything.
"I think my Telekinesis got stronger." Izuku said, looking at the two others. Kaede was in the middle, with the boy on the left, and Katsuki on the right.
"How could it? Anything to do with your new Quirk?" Bakugo responded.
"Could be. I mean, it'll make sense when I'll explain how it works to you, but for now just think of it as new abilities that grow exponentially."
"So you think Telekinesis might have inherited the possibility of growing like your powers, right?" Kaede asked.
"Yeah."
"Couldn't we just try it? Kae, how heavy and tall are you?" Katsuki asked.
"I weigh like 45 kilograms for one mettre sixty-five, so 48 with the amount of clothes I have right now." she answered.
"That much? Damn, I thought you weighed like 30."
"I'm literally underweight, any more would mean my death."
"Makes sense. Anyway, think you can lift her?" he asked the boy.
"Let's see."
He looked at her, intending for her to fly. And she did perfectly.
[Skill: Telekinesis - Acquired.]
'Sick'. He thought. This was actually incredibly useful if his old Quirk got stronger like the new one.
"Hey, let me goooo!" the green-haired girl said, still floating.
"Nah." he continued with a grin. He made her fly higher, above the little group, as she screamed in fear. Bakugo laughed, and the two black-eyed girls behind them just watched in fascination.
"My dad used to make you fly like that when you were younger, I don't see where the problem is." Katsuki told the girl.
"Maybe because now I'm fifteen, in a crowded area, and am scared of what my idiot brother could do with his experiments?" she told them.
The two boys laughed, and she was brought back to the ground, where she hit her brother with all her might.
He didn't even feel it, and grinned at her.
"I hate it here." she said, pouting.
"Don't make that faaace!" the tallest boy said, ruffling her hair, earning an angry "Hey, don't do that!"
"Girls." Katsuki muttered with a smirk. He was about to get a remark from the girl in question, when he stopped in front of a shop. "Pepe's family shop. First stop. You come, Izu?"
"Sure."
The two boys went in, while Kaede waited outside with the two other girls. She looked at them, with a raised eyebrow.
"Everyone noticed you wanted to ask something. You're not forbidden from doing so, you know?" she told them, Momo blushing in embarrassment.
"We do, but it would seem impolite. Would it be just possible to know what you guys were talking about?"
Kaede sighed, closing her eyes. She didn't really know if she wanted to tell that story, but she probably had to anyway.
"It's a long story. You see, my brother didn't always look like this. Four days ago, he was smaller than me, with no muscles at all." she took her phone out of her pocket, showing her her wallpaper. It was a picture of her, Izuku, Inko, Bakugo and his parents.
The two girls eyes' widened when they saw Izuku.
"He looked like this? Four days ago?" Kyoka asked, not believing it in the slightest.
"Yeah. He always had a frail body." she put the phone back in her pocket. "But, three days ago, he got killed on a class trip by some villain who pierced his entire chest."
She put her hand up in the air, clearly wanting not to be interrupted, as the onyx-eyed girl was about to speak.
"I wasn't there personally, but his entire class, and Katsuki, were. He fell over the barrier into the river, where he sank, dead. As expected. However, a very violent strange light erupted from the water seconds later, and Izuku got back to the surface."
"Katsuki helped him, but Izuku had now wings, as well as softer hair and red eyes. The next day, he now had an amazing body, the complete opposite of his previous one. Apparently, it got even better the next day, and even got better like four hours ago. He developed a new Quirk with this, and frankly, we're still discovering what it is."
"So, he… came back to life?" Jiro mumbled
"Exactly. He didn't tell us how yet, but he promised he'd tell me and Kat' later, at home. So we're still testing the new powers: that includes the fire, the monster you saw earlier, the sword, the vanishing objects, etc."
"And his old Quirk before dying was this Telekinesis, I suppose?"
"It was, but it was barely strong enough to hold a spoon with it. Changed radically too."
"Where did the wings go?" Kyoka continued.
"He found a way to retract them." Kaede answered.
It was barely believable. But… The two girls couldn't see why they shouldn't believe it. The girl had nothing to win lying about her brother.
"If you two have more questions, just ask him directly, or do it later in one big message. To be honest, right now, we don't really know more than you." the green-eyed girl finished.
"I see. Thank you for your explanation, Kaede." Momo answered. The other girl actually smiled, nodding.
"No problem, Yaoyorozu."
"Look at what we got!" Izuku's voice said, as he exited the shop. "We got cigarettes."
"Why the fuck would you buy that?" Kaede asked, her eyes narrowed.
"We didn't. He offered it to us when we gave his money back, and Izuku took it. Wants to try it with his Quirk." Katsuki continued.
"Yup!" the tall boy added, taking one out of the package, lighting the tip with a little flame on his hand.
Momo and Kyoka both figured out why the two boys were almost naked compared to what any sane person would wear with this cold. If one had a fire Quirk, and the other could literally make explosions, it was logical they had a body that naturally made them hot.
Momo didn't think more about it, but Kyoka did blush at the last part, her eyes lingering on Izuku.
For an unknown reason, of course.
Izuku got the cigarette to his mouth, where he inhaled it.
[Passive Skill: Poison Resistance - Acquired.]
'Holy fucking shit…'
"It doesn't change anything." he said, after blowing away the smoke. He would tell them about it later, when he explained about the system. "I don't feel any different. Don't feel hot, probably because I already am, and it doesn't have any other effect."
"Let me try." Bakugo told him. He did the same, before letting the smoke out. "I don't feel different either." he finished. It also made sense: his Quirk made him hot and he could produce smoke easily with his palms.
"I'm next." Kaede continued. She took the cigarette, inhaling it, before starting to loudly cough. "Holy fuck, it tastes like shit! And my throat is burning! " she said, coughing harder and harder.
"Heal." Izuku said, his little sister being engulfed in the light. Just after, she stopped coughing, but the smoke in her lungs still made her feel uneasy. It took her a few more seconds to get it out.
"I'm not trying again. You girls want it?" she asked, looking at Kyoka and Momo.
"Already tried, not a fan." Jiro answered, while Momo just shook her head. She was scared of starting, and in such, just wouldn't try.
"I don't know how you can take these on a daily basis and be happy." Kaede said, throwing the cigarette away.
"I don't smoke and I'm not happy." Izuku just said.
"That's deep." Katsuki agreed.
The two girls behind smiled softly, as the little group continued to walk, giving back the stolen stuff to their respective owners.
Maybe, just maybe, Momo had to look at things differently.
As they progressed through the streets, finding the various people they gave back their belongings to, Momo felt some sort of growing attachment for the group and the city.
They were full of flaws, all of them. Bakugo was the easiest to dislike: impulsive, blatant honesty, rudeness. But she could find comfort in his words, because while it was obvious he was against them being here, he tried to include the two girls in the discussions. After some time, he wasn't so openly aggressive anymore, and she could see that he was rather kind and funny.
Kaede was rather sweet. But she was the opposite of Bakugo: she wasn't direct, ever. She was very sarcastic, at some points it could just be mean for no reason. But the two other boys didn't seem to mind: maybe she didn't really think what she said, but taken out of any context, her words could easily be very offensive. Otherwise, she was just a gentle girl.
Izuku, though, was the one she had more problems with. He was easily the kindest of the three, too kind. When he was gentle, it felt exaggerated. He could switch from a pure being to some sort of sassy, almost annoying guy, but funnier. That's why she had trouble really understanding him, and was the one she talked the least with. Kyoka, however, seemed to get along really well with him. The two had talked to each other for fifteen minutes straight before Kaede made a comment on them being in love, which got Kyoka out of the discussion with a blush, and a laugh from Izuku.
As for the city in itself, the onyx-eyed girl found herself enjoying its atmosphere more and more. It wasn't pretty, with beautiful trees and decorated facades of buildings. But it had its charm, people simply enjoying their life with whatever they had.
"That was the last one." Katsuki said, as he exited the last store, Izuku right behind him. They had kept that one for last, because it was some sort of all-in-one shop where you could sell whatever you had and you didn't want anymore. They had sold all the clothes, phones, and things they kept in general.
"No wonder these guys steal for a living, 53000 Yens, that's a very lucrative business." Izuku said, happily shoving the bills in his pocket.
"I'm not sure pursuing it as a career is the best choice you could make. And it's kind of a scam for everything you sold." Kyoka said with a laugh.
"I'm not making it a living, plus these guys actually deserved it. It's just a nice little bonus. And I'm not going to argue for so little, that's money I'm taking anyway." he replied. He could probably have sold the items for much more, but the cost of living in this part of the town was rather low, and he may love money, he knew the entire city was in the same situation as him. No need to be picky.
"Do you think Mom and your parents are done, or we're going to have to wait even longer?" Kaede asked Momo.
"We've been gone for more than an hour already, I think they had enough time to exchange their greetings." the black-haired girl responded. Night had finally completely fallen, and the group of teenagers were now wandering under a cloudy and sombre sky.
As they walked back to where the adults were, snow started to fall. It was very cosy, walking down the streets with the very bare orange light offered by the few street lamps, and snowflakes delicately falling on their environment. It was getting colder, though.
"You sure you guys aren't in some sort of hypothermia?" Kyoka asked the two boys.
A flame appeared in Izuku's hand, immediately heating the group, giving them another source of luminosity, illuminating the night. He smiled softly, keeping the flame alive, putting his hand next to her, the girl leaning close to it to profit from the heat.
"Never felt better." He answered, Bakugo nodding.
Soon, they arrived to their parents, who were still standing right where they left them. They were talking, huge smiles on their faces, except maybe Momo's father, who seemed pretty lost.
"We're done." Katsuki said as he approached the group. Mitsuki grinned at him.
"Good. Boys, this is Aroma, she used to be our best friend back in the days."
"The bitch that flew to America and never texted once she arrived?" the blond responded, followed by nods from the two younger Midoriyas. Inko and Mitsuki grinned at that, while Aroma smirked sheepishly, and her husband, Momo and Kyoka looked quite horrified at what was being said. Masaru was the only one with a serene smile.
"Exactly. But she didn't forget us, she just lost her phone on the trip. Since she stayed there for two years, and really never came back, we never interacted anymore." Inko continued.
"Sounds like she got rid of you two and completely forgot." Kaede mumbled.
"Just trust whatever they say." Izuku told her. "Are we still going to the theme park?" he asked.
"Oh, true, that's what we were supposed to do." Katsuki continued.
"We are, we are. Do you two want to come?" Masaru asked the two other parents.
"I'm up for it." Aroma answered, before her husband could tell what she knew was "not really". She was going to catch up with her friends. "Girls, your father is probably going home, you can go if you want." she told the two.
Momo was rather cold. She didn't really feel like going to a theme park, and neither did Kyoka. The other girl was really tired, and just wanted to lie down and sleep.
However, the two looked at the other three teenagers. They were already leaving toward where they supposed was the park.
They wouldn't care if they came. They wouldn't care if they didn't. Izuku was making flames dance with his hands, taking the form of a cat. He showed it to Bakugo, who out of curiosity for the newfound power, touched it with a hand.
It obviously burned him, as he tried to punch the taller boy, who dodged, laughing. Kaede giggled in her hands, before asking something to her brother. He smiled, creating another flame, putting it just next to her, as she stretched, letting the heat warm her.
Momo and Kyoka had maybe been included in their conversations, but these guys lived in another world to theirs. They had their own jokes, their own mimics, their lives and the hardships they passed through together. If the two girls decided to leave now, they wouldn't even leave a mark in their mind. They would remember them as the two girls they saved in an alley.
Talking with them was nice. At least, Momo knew she rather liked Katsuki and Kaede. Kyoka, on the other hand, talked the most with Izuku, who she thought was not a hard guy to understand.
They never had any friends beside each other, and they really wanted to interact with these other guys of their age. Especially since the two girls, after seeing the two boys in action, their bodies, and their Quirks, had a little idea of which school they wanted to attend.
"We're coming too." Kyoka said. Cyrus looked at the two girls, nodding, as he softly thanked the other adults for the talk, kissed his wife on the cheek, took his phone and went away, calling for a butler. Yes, the Yaoyorozus were this wealthy.
"Alright, let's go then!" Mitsuki told the group, leaving after the teenagers, who were already rather far away. As the group of three wasn't going really fast, they caught up easily.
"So, what did you do?" Masaru asked the children.
"Exactly what we told you before leaving, we gave back what was stolen, and sold the things we stole ourselves." Izuku replied with a grin, earning laughs from the parents.
"And how much did you make?" Inko asked.
"53000 Yens!" he replied happily, taking the pills out of his pocket.
"That much money, that easily?" Mitsuki added, her eyes widening.
"No, hag, you won't dress as a gangster to steal people." Katsuki interfered, rolling his eyes. She hit him in the back of the head.
"I do whatever I want! And I can steal the money of criminals, that'd be okay." she told him.
"I'm pretty sure, if they steal things, then they need money. Not sure you have to put them in prison and strip them of their belongings." Aroma said, toward the little group.
"That's what we did anyway and I don't regret it." Kaede told the woman, Izuku nodding in agreement. Inko didn't seem bothered by the actions of her kids.
"You guys are rats." Kyoka told the younger Midoriyas with a grin. They didn't even seem bothered by the accusation, Kaede nodded in pure acceptance of the term, while Izuku just looked at her with half closed eyes.
"You're rich, you don't know how many things you can do in this city with that money." he told her, trying to intimidate the girl. Kyoka, who apparently really wasn't of the same idea as Momo about the boy, copied his expression, to intimidate him back. She knew he wouldn't do anything and was actually joking.
"Maybe I don't, but you're still a rat." she told him. She got closer to his chest, looking up at him in what was her usual cold face. He just looked down on her, before smirking.
"You're thirty centimetres smaller than me, what do you think you're doing?"
"You weren't three days ago, I thought you wouldn't be used to it." she said with deject. Momo looked at the two closely, as they continued interacting. Kyoka was quickly becoming good friends with him, but she still had plenty of doubts about him.
They continued walking, and at one point, the punk-styled girl was flying in the air a bit above the boy, his telekinesis in action, everybody laughing at the furious blush on her face.
"Let me down!" she pleaded, looking at him angrily.
"Nah." He replied with a smug smirk.
"Your Telekinesis got stronger?" Mitsuki asked the boy, Inko nodding. She was pretty sure he couldn't do that with his Quirk before he died. And both women of the Midoriya family couldn't either.
"Yeah."
"Sick."
"Yeah."
"NPCs." Kaede mumbled.
"Let me down!"
Eventually, at one point, the dark purple-haired girl could finally touch the ground, where she immediately assaulted him with her earphone jacks, trying to hurt him by stinging him with it. However, the plan backfired pretty badly when he caught both of the jacks with his hands. He was too strong for her to just retract them out.
"So that's your Quirk. It's kinda hard." he said, touching the tip of it. "You told me it made you hear better right?"
"Yeah." she said, still trying to be set free by punching his arm. Not that it did anything, he could barely feel it.
"I wonder…"
He started to softly caress the earphones with his fingers, the girl making an inaudible sound. She looked at him in horror, as he grinned.
"So it is sensible." he whispered into one of the jacks, a blush so red it could rival his flames appearing on her face.
"Stop!" she almost yelled in what was a mix between frustration and embarrassment. He finally let the tips go, the ears retracting at high speed. "I hate you." she told him with a glare.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm just really interested in Quirks." he told her with a sly grin. She humpfed him, turning back to the road, though she remained very close to him, almost enough for their body to touch. With another smirk, he raised his hand to her head, where he gently rubbed his fingers against her crane and hair. She groaned, in something that Momo couldn't actually decipher between satisfaction and embarrassment.
"Watching this is torture. I'm going to throw up." Kaede said with a disgusted face.
"Don't try to make it pass as weird, I used to do the same to you." the green-haired teenager told his sister.
"But we didn't meet two hours ago." she replied with a glare.
"His hands are warm." Kyoka told the other girl with a smirk. "It's like a natural heater."
"True. I'm hot."
"I've beaten the shit out of people for less than this terrible joke." Katsuki interjected.
The group just continued to walk, talking about anything, as snow slowly started to whiten the environment.
