Day 24- Foxiyo: Raining

Riyo sat by the window in the lounge waiting for Fox to get out of the shower. She looked out attempting to see the city lights through the heavy rain that was cascading down. She didn't like it very much.

She turned around as she heard a door open and Fox stepped out from the bedroom. As they had agreed was appropriate, he was dressed in his fatigues, while she wore a dark blue nightgown.

"It's raining rather hard," she commented, turning her attention back to the window. "It's almost frightening."

Fox sat down across from her in the window, giving her leg a rub. "I suppose that's one word for it."

"Why, what would you say?" Riyo asked, raising an eyebrow.

Fox laughed. "Well, it would rain like this all the time in Kamino, so this sort of rain is no stranger to me. I'm quite use to it and I find more...comforting."

Riyo shook her head. "The fact that anyone can find this sort of rain comforting is strange to me." She crawled across the seat to sit between his legs. She leaned against his chest and sighed. "There's still so much to learn about you, Fox."

He kissed her head and smiled. "Isn't life full of learning? And it's not so much the actual rain that's comforting as it is the sound it makes. Listen."

Riyo closed her eyes and concentrated on the sound of the rain. It pounded against the building creating rhythmic background noise.

She opened her eyes and looked up at Fox. "I suppose I can understand that, especially since it is something you grew up with. But," she sighed resting her head on Fox's chest again. "I think I prefer your heartbeat."

Fox smiled. "Well, as long as there's something that comforts you. I love you, Riyo," he whispered kissing the top of her head.

Riyo smiled. "I love you too."
