Welcome back bros and gals. Happy 2022 even though we're almost a month in.

Just need to say sorry for not updating, I'm just...I don't know, not really feeling it with the current point of this story because tournament arcs suck. It doesn't matter what anime it is, it's just random filler cause we need to have some kind of stupid ass rivalry. But yea, updates are gonna be slow cause I cba with this annnnnd the chapters might be shorter cause honestly, I don't feel like writing 10k words on a stupid tournament with stupid character development. I wanna get to Stain and my original arc which will be after Stain. Thanks me I just gave out a spoiler for free.

Anyways, have fun reading this shite.

"Where did we all go wrong?" Shinjiro asked to no one. He was currently crossing a finish line in a freeze-frame that would make you contemplate your life choices.

"Yea, that's me," He pointed out to the silly face he was making. "I bet you're wondering how I got in this situation in the first place. Well, it all started when-"

"But, honestly I can't get myself into it after that recent incident. And I'm already training with All Might. I don't have any motivation to stand out at the festival. Plus it's impossible for me to stand out anyway-"

*SLAP*

"OW!" Midoriya yelped, clutching his cheek.

"You're mumbling again…" Shinjiro deadpanned, holding his palm up for another slap.

"You'd be an ace in the nonsense course!" Toshinori shouted, blood gushing from his mouth. Oh yea, he was also on his back from falling over from Midoriya's mumble spree.

"N- Nonsense course?"

"Well, technically it isn't all nonsense…" Shinjiro said dejectedly.

"There are those who always aim for the top and those who don't," Toshinori said. "That slight difference in attitude will make a big difference out in society. I understand how you feel and this is my own wish. So I won't force you"

He got up and put a hand on Midoriya's shoulder.

"Just don't forget that feeling you had at Seaside Park"

Here's a time skip brought to you by…nothing. Just kidding bell go ring ring.

"W- What's happening?!" Uraraka shouted in disbelief.

Oh, we're getting right into it? Well, there were tons of the students outside the class's door for some reason. They blocked both exits to the classroom so everyone inside were basically trapped.

"What business do you have with Class A?" Iida spoke up, doing his usual hand-chopping gesture.

"What the hell we can't get out!" Mineta said, getting riled up.

"They're inspecting the enemy you scum," Bakugo said, surprisingly not screaming but having a rather annoyed expression on his face. "Since we all survived the villain's attack so they came to check out the competition"

He calmly walked up to the crowd with a menacing aura causing the ones closest to him to take a step back.

"Get out of my way rubber face," He said to the nearest person.

The crowd stepped back in pure shock.

"Stop calling these people you don't know rude names!" Iida shouted.

"Oh boy…" Midoriya feared.

"I came to see what the famous Class A was like…but you seem pretty arrogant," A voice came from the pretty silent crowd.

A tall boy with striking blue hair shuffled through the crowd and made his way to the front. Further inspection makes him look like a younger version of Aizawa, with the eye bags and the tired look.

"Is everyone from this class like this?" He asked.

Midoriya and his friends comically shook their heads to say that they weren't like him.

"Seeing something like this disillusions me…" He rubbed the back of his head. "There are a lot of students in the ordinary and other courses because they couldn't get into the hero course. But the school has given us a chance. Considering how well we do at the festival, we might get transferred to the hero course. Of course…the reverse can happen too"

This caused most of the class to recoil, thinking about the possibility of them getting kicked out of the hero course.

"So, you're declaring war on us?" A voice spoke up from the back.

"Exactly, I won't hesitate to pull the carpet from your feet if you mess up"

"That's a pretty bold statement from someone like you," He got up from his seat.

"Oh god, Shinjiro don't make this any worse!" Midoriya and friends screamed in their minds.

"Oh? You don't look like anything special either," The boy stared right at him.

Shinjiro stared right back at him, "Of course, I don't. But-"

"Hey!" A voice interrupted the two's stare down.

"How many times am I going to get interrupted today?"

"I'm from Class B next door. I heard you fought with villains so I came to hear about it, but you're getting way too ahead of yourself!" The boy shouted. He had spiky grey hair which could rival Kirishima's, and almost every part of his appearance was jagged in some way.

I'm too bored to narrate a person's aesthetic. Blame the author for this.

"It's another bold person!" The class shouted in their minds.

"If you hype yourself too much, you'll embarrass yourself!"

Bakugo, fed up with what's going on, just decided to make his exit.

"Oi Bakugo where are you going?" Kirishima asked.

"Hmph, as long as you get to the top it doesn't matter," Bakugo said before leaving through the other door.

"How simple and manly!" The redhead said.

"How?!" Kaminari comically shouted.

The tense atmosphere soon quelled after Bakugo left, leaving everyone else to their own devices. Somehow I don't even know how scenes like this move on so quickly.

The indigo hair boy clicked his tongue as he turned around to leave.

"Wait," Shinjiro said, attracting his attention. "We're not done here"

"What?" He turned back around only to notice something different about the boy. He found himself glued to Shinjiro's eyes for some odd reason.

"Those eyes…they're the same. He's the same as all of us…" He thought.

Meanwhile, the dumbass over here. "That's weird…I can't tell what he's thinking. He could probably be thinking about something bad. This was probably a mistake…"

"Oi," He said.

"Hm?" Shinjiro raised a brow but still kept his stoic face, which was what got him into this situation in the first place you stupid-

"You've been through it too haven't you? To get to where you are now"

"What does he mean by that? Oh well, you know what they say: Go with the flow"

"Let's just say it's been a hard life. But…I never gave up and you shouldn't too. Show them your worth at the festival and even if you don't make it, that doesn't mean you give up"

The tired boy formed a small smirk. "I guess not all of you are as hopeless as I thought"

As he turned to leave, somewhat satisfied with what went down Shinjiro spoke up.

"My name's Shinjiro. What's yours?"

The teen turned his head slightly. "Hitoshi Shinso," With that, he walked off into the crowd of students.

Shinjiro sighed in relief. "Well, that went better than expected. Then again, in the anime world, anything can go better than expected. Hell, just staring can cause relationships to improve!"

A crack formed that day.

"Hey, Midoriya. Remind me why we're at the beach again?" Shinjiro had a deadpan look on his face.

Midoriya stretched as he seemed to be deep in thought, probably thinking about everything again.

"Oi, Midoriya…" Shinjiro called out but his words seemed to go right through the boy.

"Because the sports festival is in two weeks, we need to prepare ourselves for anything," Midoriya explained. "Plus, we don't know what the first challenge will be so we have to make sure we cover all our bases. By doing so I have planned out a training regime for both of us because All Might won't be mumble mumble mumble…"

In a flash, Shinjiro appeared right behind Midoriya. His eyes glowed red as he charged up an attack.

"SHORYUKEN!" He yelled before delivering the strongest head chop of his entire existence.

"ITE!" Midoriya screamed before face planting straight into the sand.

"Yea, that's enough of that," Shinjiro dusted his hands.

"Why me?!" Midoriya sat up, revealing a comedic bump on his head.

"Why not?" He replied before staring at the rising sun. "You know…maybe coming to the beach at five in the morning wasn't that bad of an idea"

Midoriya rubbed his head as he too stared at the rising sun. "Yea…does this mean you want to exercise?"

Shinjiro looked down at the boy. "Hell no."

Midoriya put a hand to his chin for a brief moment before suddenly looking back up at Shinjiro.

"Oh no, I don't like that look in your eye," Shinjiro took a step back as the boy got up to face him.

"Maybe you need a little motivation," He said before holding up his arm and starting to charge One For All into it.

"Oh nooooo. No, you wouldn't," Shinjiro started to panic. But it was evidently clear that Midoriya wasn't messing around when he took a step forward.

"Oh come on!" Shinjiro screamed as he started to run away with Midoriya giving chase.

"Where the hell was that sweet cinnamon bun months ago!"

"You made him grow up!" Midoriya shouted.

"Fair point!" Shinjiro shouted back as the duo ran up and down the beach with the rising sun as a very nice backdrop.

And now a time skip, brought to you by a training montage.

"Dammit, I knew you were going to say that…"

Time flew by really quickly and it was now the morning of the upcoming sports festival. We shall first look over to Midoriya who was getting ready to set out. His mother on the other hand was quite worried for her son and understandably so.

"Izuku, please be careful," His mom told him.

He nodded as tied his shoes and slung his backpack over his shoulder.

"I'll be recording it in high resolution," She told him.

"Alright!" He said back happily before making his way to the door.

"Hey, Izuku?"

"Hm?" He turned back to face her.

His mom pumped her fists. "Good luck"

He just smiled. "I'm off!" He said before going out the door.

His mother waved back before sighing when he was out of eyesight. "They grow up so fast…"

Shinjiro meanwhile…

"I hate festivals," He said as he stared out at the giant crowd in front and outside of U.A. There were stands everywhere selling food and merchandise, basically more ways to earn money due to the huge traction the sports festival is bringing.

He sighed as he stared at the press blocking his way to the entrance. Not only that but he'd have to make his way through the crowd of civilians, all while wearing the U.A gym attire.

It was truly a horrible mistake on his end. It seems that living across the street from U.A doesn't mean you can wake up whenever huh?

"Waking up late doesn't mean it was a horrible mistake…it's just a nuisance I gotta get through these people without anyone seeing me," He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Now, I wish I had Hagakure's quirk. Oh well…"

He crouched down and got into a runner's stance. He slowed his breathing and closed his eyes, planning his very next move. Adrenaline rushed to his body as he dashed forward making sure to run quiet enough to not alert anyone. As he neared the distracted press he proceeded to jump as high as he could, up and over the sea of people and somehow no one saw him do it.

He landed perfectly in front of the entrance to the doors, thankfully he didn't land on anyone cause that would have been quite a spectacle. A couple of passersby spotted him land as he kicked up dust everywhere causing him to be momentarily disoriented, allowing him to quickly sneak in the building without much attention.

"Easy," He thought to himself. "I am sneak 1000"

"D- Did you see that?" A wooden log exclaimed.

"What is it Kamui?" A hot- I mean, lady asked.

"A kid just jumped over this crowd!" The man named Kamui said.

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

"I'm telling you, Mount Lady, I saw a boy jump over everybody here," He explained.

"Alright alright, I believe you….now where were those meatballs they were selling?" Mount Lady wondered before wandering off on her own.

Kamui sighed. "She just doesn't care does she?"

"Aw man, I really wanted to wear my hero costume," Ashido complained, tugging at her gym uniform.

"It's to prevent any kind of advantage, so it can't be helped," Ojiro explained.

The class was in a waiting room getting ready for the festival to start. Most were excited but also anxious about how the festival would challenge them.

"I wonder what the preliminary event is," Sato said, sweat slowly dripping from his forehead.

"We just need to work with it, no matter what it is," Tokoyami said.

"Everyone!" Iida came bursting through the door. "It's almost time to go! So get ready and- wait…where's Shinjiro?"

"I'm here," Shinjiro said, appearing right next to the speedy boy.

"Ya!" Iida jumped back in shock.

"You don't have to shout so loud y'know," He stuck a finger in his ear to drown out the noise.

Iida recovered almost immediately though. "Where were you?"

"Just wandering about…anyway, I'll be heading on out first. See ya laters," Shinjiro slapped Iida's back before smiling and walking off.

Midoriya, who had been watching, sighed. "That's Shinjiro-san for you…"

"Midoriya," A voice came from his left.

"Todoroki, w- what is it?" The boy turned to face him.

The cold and quiet boy had spoken what could have been his first lines in this entire story. Safe to say everyone was pretty shocked hearing the boy talk and immediately gave him their full attention.

Todoroki narrowed his eyes, gazing into Midoriya's innocent-looking ones. "Looking at it objectively, I think I'm more capable than you"

"Huh?" Midoriya uttered out in shock, surprised that Todoroki has said such a thing.

"But…you're being favored by All Might aren't you?"

Midoriya tried to keep his composure but his thoughts were jumbling and fumbling about how he's deduced this claim.

"I won't pry about it," Todoroki continued. "But, I'm going to beat you"

His cold aura froze Midoriya to the core.

"H- He's going for me?"

"Oh? It seems like even the best of the class has a declaration of war," Kaminari remarked.

"Oi, we're not here to fight you know," Kirishima decided to step in before things could escalate.

"We're not here to make friends either," Todoroki snapped back. He turned around and walked away. "So why does it matter?"

After however long it took, Midoriya finally had the courage to speak up. "I may not know the meaning or point of your declaration of war-"

Todoroki stopped and turned around to face him.

"-but yes, you're far above me. However…I'm not going to lose. Everyone is trying their best to make it to the top, which means I can't fall behind. I'm going to aim for it…the top. And if it means beating you then so be it"

Todoroki said nothing, his same stoic face stared at Midoriya's serious expression. It was only for a few seconds before he turned around and walked out the door.

However, it wasn't long before Todoroki got stopped by another person. A figure stood by the door, leaning on it, and had his arms crossed. Todoroki gave him no sight and simply walked past him.

"He had you for a moment there huh?"

Todoroki stopped in his tracks. "What do you mean by that?"

"I'm just saying…there was fire in his eyes. Can't say the same about you can I?"

Todoroki narrowed his eyes. He found himself clenching his fists for some reason.

"Son of Endeavor."

That seemed to light something in Todoroki causing him to quickly turn back around. Ice started to crystallise on his arm, the anger inside brewing a cold storm. He was, however, quickly stopped with the figure grabbing his right arm and holding it in place.

"I didn't mean to aggravate you…sorry," Shinjiro said, staring at the boy as if he was trying to analyze him. However, Todoroki quickly pulled away making Shinjiro lose his grip.

The boy proceeded to give him the cold shoulder and walk away.

"Shoto Todoroki…" Shinjiro said to himself. "Just what are you hiding? Or why?"

Oh, wow you got him all figured out.

"Well, most of the time it's usually daddy issues. You can't have an edgy character without bringing out family issues…plus he's Endeavor's son so things must have happened between them," He thought. Now, please…get back on script.

"Hey! Attention audience! Come forward, mass media!" President Mic's voice boomed throughout the stadium, riling up everyone in the crowd. "It's the high school fighting you all love! Everybody, the UA sports festival is about to start!"

Shinjiro sighed and walked forward. "Welp, better get going before anyone else comes out of that room"

"ARE YOU READY?!" President Mic shouted so loud that you could hear him from the other side of the world.

Footsteps echoed through the tunnel as President Mic continued on.

"The first-year students will now enter! I'm pretty sure you know who they are but if you don't. With hearts of steel, they managed to overcome enemy attacks! The miraculous new stars. Hero course Class 1-A!"

Class 1-A stepped out into the field, seeing hundreds of people filling the stands and roaring with excitement. Midoriya felt taken aback by the number of people and his anxiety was slowly building up in him.

"S- so many people…"

"And so noisy as well," Shinjiro said with his fingers in his ears, clearly annoyed.

"Will we be able to give our best performance in front of this crowd?" Iida wondered as he glanced around at the crowd. "But, I guess that's another thing to learn as an upcoming hero"

Midoriya noticed a couple of other classes come out of their respective tunnels as President Mic continued with the introductions.

"Even though they haven't been given much screentime, they are extremely talented as well! Hero course Class 1-B!"

Next was Shinso and his class who were not really excited about what was to come.

"Next is Ordinary course Classes C, D, and E!"

Then, a bunch of students came out with many gadgets and tools, looking ready to build a titan or something.

"And Support courses Classes F, G, and H are here too!"

Finally, we got the nerds who picked to study business instead of trying for the other classes. I'm kidding, business is great who wouldn't want to get into business school.

"And the Business course Classes I, J, and K! And that's all of the first-years!"

"We're just here to make the other guys look better huh?" One of the students from the general studies classes said in disappointment.

"How tiring," Said another.

Anyways, now that we have the introductions out of the way, we can now turn our attention to Midnight standing on a stage. She gave a crack of her whip signaling everyone to look at her.

"Time for the player's pledge!" She shouted through the microphone.

While all the men in the audience were simping over her, Shinjiro decided to cover Midoriya's eyes with his hand.

"Someone like him shouldn't be seeing this display," Shinjiro sweatdropped.

With another crack of her whip, Midnight spoke up once more. "Student representative. 1-A! Bakugo Katsuki!"

Shinjiro uttered one word in response.

"Bruh"

"K- Kacchan's doing the speech?" Midoriya asked after Bakugo had walked past him and made it to the stage.

"Great…we're doomed," Shinjiro sighed.

Bakugo went up to the mic, looking more serious than he's ever been. He stared at the audience around him and started to speak.

"I pledge…that I'll be number one,"

Oh yea, that got the crowd riled up alright.

"What'd you say?!"

"Stop screwing around!"

The first-year classes screamed and booed at him. Luckily, no one pounced on him then and there. There were a couple of things thrown on the stage but nothing too spectacular.

"Bakugo what are you doing?" Iida ran up to Bakugo as he was making his way down the stage. "Do you understand what you have done?"

"At least be a good springboard for me," Bakugo said giving everyone else a thumbs down in retaliation.

"Confidence? No…he's doing this on purpose," Midoriya thought.

"He's that serious huh?" Shinjiro spoke up before looking at Midoriya. "Looks like we're going all out on the first battle"

"H- Hai," He nodded.

"Now, let's start right away!" Midnight said, getting everyone's attention once more. "The first game is the qualifier, every year many students drink their own tears here!"

She cracked her whip once more before a holographic screen appeared to show the students their first event. "The fateful first event is!"

Obstacle Race Course

"An obstacle racecourse," Midoriya said with a serious look on his face.

"Out of everything they could have chosen, they choose this?" Shinjiro muttered, clearly disappointed.

"All eleven classes will participate. The course is approximately four kilometers around the stadium," Midnight explained before raising her whip, high in the air. She licked her lips before finishing her explanation."Freedom is our school's selling point. You can do anything as long as you stay on course. Now take your places!"

She directed everyone towards the red starting gate. Everyone basically rushed to get a spot at the front as it would hold a nice advantage, while others stayed at the back as to not get drowned out by the stampede that was about to happen.

Shinjiro was one of those people, but he had a plan…probably.

"Hey, I don't even know what the plan is. I just placed myself at the back cause I already lost the class," How did you even lose them? They were right next to you- actually you know what, it's time to start the race cause I'm sick of this.

"On your mark!" Midnight shouted as one of the green lights went out.

"It's too risky to use One For All now," Midoriya thought, he glanced over to his sides and saw Bakugo getting his arms warmed up as sparks slowly started to ignite. He suddenly had a chill run up his spine as he looked over to the other side and saw Todoroki emitting frost from his right side.

"This is bad," He thought. "Todoroki's going to try and freeze everything…if I had some kind of way to dodge it," He mentally cursed himself.

"Get set!" Midnight shouted once again as the second green light went out.

"Is there any way I can break the system?" Shinjiro thought. "Oh wait, I brought those to test out today. Heh, this'll be a walk in the park…literally"

Somebody crank the music up it's time!

As soon as the final green light went out and accompanied with Midnight yelling:

"Start!"

The floodgates opened and soon everybody was running straight for the great outdoors. Dust and dirt were kicked into the air by the rampaging stampede as the audience cheered them on. While everybody was running to be in first place, I don't think it was a surprise when there was only one person left standing at the gate.

"Now, we'll be giving you all a live broadcast," President Mic said. "Are ya ready for some commentary mummy?"

"You forced me to come here," Aizawa said through his muffled bandages. "And it seems like another person was also forced to come here seeing as how he's not doing anything"

"Yea! W- Wait what?" President Mic said confused before looking down to Shinjiro busy dusting himself off. "Oi, kid what are you doing?!"

After dusting himself off perfectly, Shinjiro looked up to the commentary box before raising his hand as if he was saying 'hello'. After that, he just put his hands in his pocket and just started casually strolling towards the gate.

"What the hell's with this kid?!" Almost everyone in the stadium mentally shouted in disbelief.

"A- Anyways, what would the first highlight be of this stage?" President Mic said, continuing on.

"Right now," Aizawa replied.

As if right on cue, chaos erupted within the tunnel as people jostled with one another to even move forward. Midoriya was trapped within what can only be described as a mess. He was getting dizzy with the number of bodies in his way, plus being on the shorter side he was getting elbows and hands to the face.

"Dammit! I gotta get out of here before-" His thoughts were cut off mid-way when the air around him started to get colder. "I need to move, now!"

He quickly pushed his way to the side of the tunnel before a stream of ice came blasting down and out of the tunnel. The ice was so strong that it traveled up the stadium walls and far out into the racecourse field. Taking advantage of the fact that almost everyone was stuck with their feet encased in ice, Todoroki dashed forward creating more ice on the field to slow everyone down.

"I'm gonna get you, you two-toned jerk!" Bakugo shouted as he activated his quirk and used it to boost himself high in the air to avoid the ice.

Most of the class also got past the ice by using their respective quirks to go up and around. Midoriya also managed to make some progress across the ice after anticipating it although he is still pretty slow in doing so.

Shinjiro meanwhile…

"I'm trying to figure out when this chapter will end," He took out a coin-like gadget from his pocket and flipped it in the air. It spun a couple of times before he caught it, showing off a pose. "That way, I can actually do something cool for once"

Oh…hey look at the time! Time to end this monstrosity with a little monster.

Also known as…

*SMACK*

"AHHHH!"

Mineta is being slapped away by a giant robot.

"Targets," One of the robots said in a robotic voice. "Lots of them!"

Now that's a cliche way to end a chapter.

Omake, I guess!

What Shinjiro was thinking when Shinso was eyeing him up.

"What's going on why is he staring at me so much?" Shinjiro thought, slightly concerned for his safety.

"He's probably thinking about something…but what? Is it cause I look good? I put a new cologne on today so maybe he's- oh no. Oh hell nah, no homo bro," Shinjiro's eyes widened a little. "I don't swing that way, I'm supposed to have a harem in this story dammit!"

"No wait, maybe it's not that, it's probably some rivalry thing that he's doing…heheh…" Shinjiro calmed down a bit before another side of his brain kicked in.

"What if he wants to kill me? I don't know use his quirk to lure me in and kill me. Gouge my eye balls out and eat them…o- or figure out where I live and *then* kill me in my sleep. Do you think he'll do it slowly so I don't feel anything? Or fast as he watches the life in my eyes drain in front of him?"

Shinjiro's mind ran rampant with his thoughts that a nuke suddenly blew out of his head.

He then suddenly heard himself talk.

"Oh…did central me take power?"

"Yup, I did," Central Shinjiro said at the control panel with all the other parts of his brain littered around, smoke coming out them.
