"Erika! I'm here for a rematch!" Ash said charging into the gym's garden.
"I'm sorry Lady Erika, I tried to stop him." One of the girls said, rushing in after Ash.
"It's fine, this will be a good time to show grass types in battle." Erika said, brushing off her kimono.
"Oh, I didn't realize there was a class going on." Ash apologized. "I can come back another time."
"It's quite alright Ash, will a three on three suffice again." Erika said.
"That works for me." Ash said, grabbing Ponyta's Pokeball.
"Very well then, come out Exeggcute." Erika said.
"Uhh, Pikachu you want to start this one?" Ash asked, having expected Tangela again.
"Pi?" Pikachu asked confused before deciding to enter the battle.
"Exeggcute use Barrage!"
"Pikachu dodge it!"
Exeggcute launched itself across the battlefield at Pikachu, the electric type constantly changing course to avoid the attack.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Exeggcute use Poison Powder."
Pikachu was surrounded as a purple powder flew over him, and covering his fur. His bolt of electricity hitting only one of the Exeggcute as he began to cough.
"Pikachu use Thunder Wave!"
"Exeggcute use Barrage!"
A spiral of electricity shot out around Pikachu, as each egg got caught in the sparks.
"Now use Quick Attack!"
"Exeggcute use Reflect."
Pikachu charged forward, knocking into each Exeggcute, but his speed decreasing greatly with each hit.
"Pikachu, enough!" Ash said, hating seeing his friend hurt that much.
Pikachu slowly made his way over to Ash, the poison having done It's toll on him.
"Here, open wide and say Ahh." Ash said, grabbing medicine from his bag.
"Pikaaaa." Pikachu said weakly, as he took the antidote.
"Rest here for now buddy." Ash said. "Oddish, you're up!"
"Exeggcute use Barrage!"
"Oddish use Acid!"
Oddish launched spray after spray of his acid, knocking away each of the Exeggcute eggs.
"Exeggcute use Hypnosis!"
"Oddish use Acid one more time!"
With all the Exeggcute gathered for their attack, they were easily sprayed down by Oddish's attack, taking out the seven of them at once.
"Exeggcute is unable to battle, the winner is Oddish." The gym girl announced.
"Great work Exeggcute, take a long rest." Erika said. "Come on out Weepinbell."
"Oddish use Acid!"
"Weepinbell use your own Acid attack."
Oddish's poisonous splash was greatly outmatched by the evolved Pokemon's, sending both directly at Oddish, bathing the grass type in them.
"Oddish come back." Ash said.
"Another switch out, interesting tactic." Erika mused.
"Ponyta, I choose you!" Ash said. "Use Ember!"
"Weepinbell use Razor Leaf."
Ponyta shot out a series of small flames, burning the oncoming leaves to a crisp as she charged forward.
"Now use Stomp!"
"Weepinbell use Slam."
Weepinbell leapt forward, only to be pinned by Ponyta's front hooves.
"Ponyta use Ember!"
"Weepinbell use Acid."
With her opponent pinned, Ponyta was able to unleash a fury of Ember attacks downward, igniting the acid drooling out of Weepinbell's mouth.
"Weepinbell use Slam."
"Ponyta use Stomp!"
As Ponyta lifted her legs to slam down again, Weepinbell launched up, knocking the fire type away as it landed a safe distance away.
"Ponyta use Ember!"
"Weepinbell use Razor Leaf."
Once again the embers broke through the leaves, burning them to a crisp, even making it past the border of the arena.
'Beep beep beep beep!'
An alarm began going off, causing Ash to cover his ears.
"What's going on, is something wrong?!" Ash asked.
"Just the gym's sprinkler system." Erika said, as water began dousing the flames on the arena, and the alarm began to subside. "This gym does double as a greenhouse, we have safety measures for things like fires for that reason."
"Ponyta return!" Ash said, seeing the rain had even dulled her fires slightly. "You ready to go back out Pikachu?" Ash asked.
"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed.
"Alright then, Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Weepinbell use Acid!"
Having been waterlogged from the sprinklers, Weepinbell was still refocusing as it was blasted by the electric attack, sending it crashing into the ground.
"Now use Quick Attack!"
"Use Slam."
Pikachu sped forward, launching into Weepinbell as the grass type was slipping in the mud.
"Weepinbell is unable to battle, the winner is Pikachu." The gym girl said.
"Weepinbell you were wonderful, take a long rest." Erika said. "You seem like a completely different trainer this time, but your winning streak ends here, come out Vileplume."
"Pikachu start with a Thunder Wave!"
"Vileplume use Petal Dance!"
A flurry of pink petals spun around the two Pokémon, sparks shooting between each petal, neither Pokemon clearly visible at any given moment.
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
"Vileplume use Solar Beam."
Ash watched worriedly until a beam of light shot out of the petals, with Pikachu sliding onto the ground defeated.
"Pikachu is unable to battle, the winner is Vileplume." The gym girl announced.
"Ponyta come on out! Use Ember!"
Ponyta shot out a series of flames, burning up the petals surrounding Vileplume, only for the grass type to stand strong in the center of the flames.
"Vileplume use Mega Drain."
"Ponyta use Stomp!"
Ponyta slammed her front hooves down, dropping Vileplume onto its face.
"Vileplume use Acid."
"Ponyta use Ember!"
Ponyta shot out more embers, only for Vileplume's Acid to power through the flames, splashing it down on Ponyta.
"Ponyta use Stomp!"
"Vileplume use Solar Beam."
As Ponyta began to slam down on Vileplume, she was blasted back into the air, and digging into the ground upon landing.
"Ponyta is unable to battle, the winner is Vileplume." The gym girl said.
"Alright Oddish, you've got this." Ash said.
From Oddish's point of view
"It's you again!" Oddish exclaimed.
"Hello again young one." Vileplume said. "I'm sorry to say, but I won't be saving you this time."
"I don't plan on losing." Oddish said.
Back to Ash's point of view
"Oddish use Acid!"
"Vileplume use Acid."
Oddish launched his attack, only for it to be overpowered by Vileplume's.
"Oddish dodge it and use Acid again!"
"Vileplume use Petal Dance."
Oddish rushed forward, sliding under Vileplume while sending out an Acid attack from underneath.
"Oddish use Absorb!"
Oddish began draining the energy from the dancing petals, when the drain sputtered momentarily, gaining some power and opening a hole before going back to normal.
"Oddish use Acid!"
Oddish unleashed a large acid attack, dousing Vileplume in it.
"Vileplume is unable to battle, the winner is Oddish and Ash." The gym girl said.
"Ash, I should let you know, it looks like Oddish is about to evolve, and even learn Mega Drain." Erika said, handing Ash his badge.
"You think?" Ash asked, surprised.
"I'm certain of it." Erika said.
Later atop the Pokemart
"Good work today guys." Ash said, putting money in the vending machine. "Huh that's odd."
"What's odd?" Cassie asked.
"Look, at this." Ash said. "These came out with the drinks, it's more training machines."
"How many is that now?" Cassie said.
"Six, but I still don't know how they work." Ash said. "Maybe I can find someone who knows how to make them work."
"We'll have to keep an eye out for someone like that." Cassie said.
