Chapters, 13 and 14 are almost rewritten from their originals and hopefully will be posted their respectful weeks. Here's the next chapter!
Journey to the Farm
It has been three days.
Three days since the Cabal came to the system. Three days since they did something that not only suppressed the Light, but suppressed semblances and aura. Three days since the group composed of Team RWBY, Summer Rose, the dog Zwei, Maria Calavera, Oscar Pine and the small group of Eliksni from House Light fled the Last City via water tunnels and fled into the wild beyond.
The first day they made it as far as the mountains near the city where they found a campsite of a small group of Guardians. Or what was left of them and their ghosts. The Cabal were thorough with their plan.
After stopping to give them a proper burial, they took what materials the deceased had on hand, which included water, blankets, food and a sidearm which Summer took to go along with the auto-rifle she had on hand when she fell from Ghaul's ship.
During their long walk, Drei explained to Summer that the Cabal deliberately targeted the Tower Digital Vaults that the Guardians use to store their weapons, armor and other useful items depriving them of a valuable resource.
Guardians system wide have lost all their weapons save for the ones they currently have on hand, with no way to replace them should they break. These two will be the bedrock to rebuild her collection of weapons. She asked what happened to Thorn, but Drei simply didn't know.
It wasn't until day two that some good news came upon them. Team RWBY's semblances and aura returned. They were simply walking when their auras flared and covered their bodies. Weiss activated a small glyph in the palm of her hand to see if it worked, manifesting a small Arma Gigas. Yang punched a nearby boulder which shattered into pieces, much to the shock of the Eliksni. Ruby just ran and ran with her semblance all around until she ran back the way group came from, which resulted in her aura shattering and her falling flat on her face.
After cleaning her up and much experimentation, they concluded that whatever the Cabal did to suppress their auras and semblances has a limited range. Summer, thinking that the Cabal device suppressing the Light operating in a similar manner, tried to make a Golden Gun appear to no effect. So, Yang found a medium sized boulder and hefted it to where the edge of it is to mark if for the future. As they made their way forward, every so often Summer would catch a glimpse of a falcon circling overhead. The previous day, the same falcon flew over in the sky above them.
On the third day they encountered a hunting party of Cabal. Three centurions and a large pack of war beasts.
The party used their weapons against them. With their dust ammo running low, they reverted to use they weapons in melee form.
Ruby used her weapon in scythe form to slice some of the hounds in half. Weiss manifested a summon in the form of a war beast to hold some of them off. Blake and Yang were back-to-back, slicing and punching the beasts. Oscar and his fellow Eliksni were bathed in the glow of their Servitor as they dealt with a centurion.
Zwei was single handily fighting a pack of war beasts, and succeeding. And Maria was using her cane to wack any of the remaining hounds,
Summer used her side-arm to kill another, but was blindsided by a centurion that back-handed her away. She fell spinning, grunting in pain as she held her still healing side.
The centurion produced a blade and went to run her through when another blade appeared through its chest. The blade retracted revealing a distortion in the air. Suddenly sniper fire rained down from nowhere, landing head-shots on the remaining enemies.
Team RWBY, Oscar and the Eliksni, and Summer looked up and saw a HAWK VTOL from the Last City fly above and land near them. Coming out of it was a woman in a poncho, tribal markings on her face with a sniper rifle. The falcon from earlier landed on her shoulder.
"Well, well, look what we got? A Guardian, some citizens from House Light, and some huntresses in training." She then gazed right by Summer. "Hey, Ice cream, going to introduce us?"
The distortion by Summer shattered revealing a certain young woman with white, brown and pink hair leaning on a parasol.
"Neo?"

The assembled group crowded in the VTOL as the ship flew away. Using sign language, and by sign language, Neo pulls signs out of nowhere and explains everything.
After arriving on Earth, Neo became an Agent of the Vanguard which details going behind enemy lines and doing recon work and or eliminate targets before they become too big of a threat. She managed to completely eliminate the Archon, Kell and Prime Servitor of a resurgent House Wolves with the help of Shiro-4. Eliminated a Hive ritual in the Egyptian Dead Zone with the help of Titan Terry Crews, accidentally resurrected a mother-fucking T-Rex using a Vex construct and released it into the wilds of the Amazon and some other stuff in the last few months. Now she's here helping the introduced Suraya Hawthorne rescue some refugees and Lightless Guardians from the Last City and have them set up shop on some abandoned farmhouses right outside the European Dead Zone or EDZ for short.
The ship touched down right outside one of said farmhouses and they exited the ship to gaze at their destination. The house itself was in complete disarray and the barn itself had seen better days. Tents dotted all over with refugees both human, Exo, Awoken, Eliksni and Faunus crowding about. Medical tents dotted here and there, and some tents which smelled of soup. And far, far, far in the distance, deep in the EDZ was a large piece of the Traveler.
"Welcome to the Farm."

The imprisoned Ozpin watched as his fellow prisoner, The Speaker's X-shaped mechanical armature retracted back upwards so that Ghaul and Ozpin could speak alone. While Ghaul spoke to the Speaker regarding the Traveler and it's Light, Ozpin's mind worked in overdrive trying to wrap his head around what Ghaul revealed to him. He knew about Ozpin's true name, knew his innate magic. What else does he know?
He tries to use his magic to heal his wounds, to unlatch himself from this device holding him in place. He can feel it, but when he tries to manifest it, the collar around his neck glows red and gives him a jolt of pain.
He cries out and slumps forward in his restraints.
"Working your magic, wizard?" Ghaul said as he approaches Ozpin, stopping right in front of him. "That device was made specifically for your Maidens, but has been repurposed for you."
Ozpin's eyes widened in alarm. Ghaul knows about the Maidens!
"Yes, I know about the Maidens of the seasons from your world. Along with the four relics that each of them is attuned to unlock beneath your huntsman academies.
Ozpin drew in a breath to remain calm. "You're very knowledgeable about this subject. Perhaps you have a certain benefactor that assisted you?"
Ghaul scoffed at Ozpin's fishing. "If you are referring to Salem, no. She will be dealt with eventually. And you are partially correct about the benefactor." He said snapping his fingers. From another room four Psions carried a large golden tome. They placed it on the table behind Ghaul and quickly left. Ghaul used his hand to turn to a certain page and allowed the mechanical arm that held the headmaster to go closer.
On the page was a rendering of the Brother Gods in their draconic forms, entwined in a helix formation facing away from one another. Bordering the middle of the helix was his original form of Ozma alongside the human form of Salem. Bordering the page were four women bathed in blue, green, red and yellow energy. In each of the women were the four relics in the form of a staff, a lamp, a crown and a sword.
"My predecessor, Calus, had anthenaeum worlds at his disposal. Each one filled with knowledge from worlds within his empire and beyond. When I overthrown him, most of those worlds have been lost to me. But those that I have obtained, I have converted to shipyards for my navy, foundries for my weapons and vehicles of war, and knowledge on how to deal with future threats. This one details two brothers, not in blood but in bond, servants to powers greater than themselves who did an experiment. The experiment ended in ruins with you and Salem the only survivors. Which gave birth to the creation of the relics of Creation, Destruction, Knowledge and Choice. Which gave birth to the Maidens themselves."
Ozpin listens to Ghauls abridged version of the former's origin and mission, having no idea that his own history has been recorded and documented by Ghaul's predecessor on another world. He is also curious what knowledge is within this tome.
"You know that in order to open the vaults containing the relics, you need the Maidens? And thanks to the Vex Invasion several months back, even I don't know where they are?" Ozpin smiled thinking that he bought time for Remnant.
Ghaul simply smiled beneath his mask. "What makes you think I need them?" He pressed a button and the doors opened again, a large Psion wearing a cape and wielding a large staff entering.
"This is freeborn Otzot, and she has the means of opening the vaults without the need of your Maidens."
When I heard about calus and his Anthenaeum worlds; repositories of knowledge; I decided that calus would have some general knowledge on the Brother gods, the relics and whatnot, so included them in the story. As to your eventual question on how Otzot will open the vaults containing the Relics without the Maidens, you just have to find out.
To Reviewer SoulTaker: The devices the cabal use to suppress Aura and Semblances have a limited range. Outside that range, Aura and Semblances are active, but within that range, pray.
