Before anything else, I own nothing but the original characters, and content therein related to them. RWBY is owned by RT, and any mentioned creator's work belongs to them, and them alone. Rest in peace Monty, your vision lives on in us all.

Author's note: God damn was this highly edited from the original. Fuck you Fanfiction. If I can post stories where people get dismembered I should be able to post some wholesome first time sex... Luckily there are workarounds to this. If this ever goes up on AO3, you'll be able to see the uncut version, but for now, we'll play by the rules.

CHAPTER 3

"So the next town we're supposed to be reaching is Higanbanna, right?" Clayton asked, trying to remember the local route they'd planned before the loss of their map.

"Yes. It's well protected, and has a decent inn that should be mostly vacant this time of year." Ren said, having stayed in the region before when he was younger.

"Which means we won't have to sleep in the rain tonight." Nora said.

"And we get proper rooms and beds." Pyrrha added. Clayton tisked at that.

"Eh, two to a room. We can't blow all our money on private sleeping quarters… Not that I mind." Clayton said, smiling devilishly at Ruby. She gently elbowed him in the ribs.

"Down boy." She said with a knowing smirk.

Once at the inn, Team RNNJRS split into pairs to bed down. Ren and Nora had opted for two twins, Jaune and Pyrrha much the same, while Ruby and Clayton dropped a little bit of money on a full size bed… It didn't take a genius to know what was going on behind their closed door, and frankly it didn't take much imagination either… The walls at the inn were much thinner than expected. Ren, Nora and Pyrrha had all fallen asleep before any of the Crimson Couple's more nocturnal activities could be heard, despite trying to be quiet, but Jaune was unfortunate enough to remain awake for all of it.

Jaune was halfway between heart warmed, and sickened. It was genuinely cute that the two were so loving of each other, but then again those were two of his best friends in there, and they probably though he was asleep… To be fair, it was considerate that they at least waited until much later into the night... Still, Jaune was awake, and even after the inn had gone completely quiet. Perhaps he just needed to pee. Looking to his right, he debated whether he would wake Pyrrha up in the process.

Assuming Pyrrha wouldn't wake up, seeing as she didn't wake up to his late night bathroom visits when they were in Beacon, or so much as rouse to team RWBY's yelling nearly every morning without coffee, Jaune tossed his sheets off and dropped a foot to the floor. The old and loose board making an unusually loud creek. Closing his eyes, Jaune waited a second, then sighed when he heard Pyrrha sit up. "Jaune?" She asked with half a yawn. "What are you doing up? It's the middle of the night." Pyrrha said, rubbing an eye with her palm.

"Couldn't sleep." Jaune said, still facing away from his partner, technically not lying.

"Oh… Is it… Because of Shione?" Pyrrha asked.

Jaune sighed, still facing away from his teammate… Not like it would do him favors if he was facing her. "Well… Not really. It's just…" Obviously Jaune didn't want to come up with some bullshit about being homesick, god knew he hated his home life. Instead he decided to vaguely answer the question. "I'm just worried about you guys is all… I mean, Ren and Nora grew up around here, they're bound to run into their past eventually, and if that's for worse, well… It concerns me."

"Oh." Was Pyrrha's only reply, and Jaune had heard that disappointed tone often enough to know that wasn't what she was expecting.

"Made out with her… Right." Jaune reminded himself of the fact that had indeed happened. "And… You too. We're not going to Argus, but Mistral is close enough to home you might run into some people or places from your past that might not sit well… you know?" Jaune half asked.

Pyrrha, in her tank top and nylon leggings, hugged her arms as she heard Jaune speak those words. "People…" She muttered, only just audible enough for Jaune to catch a syllable.

"What was that?" Jaune asked, half turning to look at her out of the corner of his eye.

"There are some people who are regularly in Mistral who don't sit well with me." Pyrrha said.

"Let me guess, crazy fans?" Jaune asked with an amused snort.

"My father... He works there in the summer." The amusement was gone, and the mention of her father killed what good mood he'd gotten into.

"Oh… Is that… Something you want to talk about?" Jaune asked, fully turning to face her, swinging his legs over the other side of the bed so he could lean in and listen. Pyrrha actually came over to his twin sized mattress and sat on the edge with him.

"Leonidas Nikos, My father, was an excellent huntsman, and a renowned champion of ring fights in Mistral. Everything I know I learned from him. In his prime he held three Minstrel regional championship titles, and actually won the Vytal Tournament as a third year of Haven… But he was injured in a fight. Tried to stop a spear thrust with his hands, and ended up putting a hole in each of them… Though he's still a formidable huntsman, he could never wield a sword the same, and when I was 7, he passed his blade down to me… He always pushed me to be the best warrior I could be, and under him I picked up where he left off. I won four consecutive Minstrel regional championships, was set to win the Vytal tournament, and… Live as he lived. A champion and a guardian of the people of Remnant… I think the fall of Beacon, losing his sword, nearly dying doing what I'd always believed was right… Made me realize that after so many years believing I had to be the greatest huntress ever, was just my father living through me…" Pyrrha said. Jaune had to blink a few times. He was not expecting that level of father issues to be dumped on him by his potential girlfriend.

"I… Didn't really have the best relationship with my dad either. He actually was the only one in my family that didn't believe me when I told him I was going to become a huntsman… He was one after all… Sometimes fathers can be like that. Wanting for their kids what they couldn't have. In my dad's case he wanted me to have a peaceful life. In yours, a successful one." Jaune offered. Pyrrha shrugged as she leaned into Jaune's shoulder.

"It wasn't all bad." She said, a half smile on her lips. "It's because of him I met you."

Jaune looked down at Pyrrha, taking in a sharp but quiet breath. Seemingly becoming aware of her cleavage, Pyrrha reddened slightly as she and Jaune made eye contact. Everything had led up to this. Beacon, it's fall, the two kisses they shared, Anima's heat and humidity, the arousal between the two, so thick it could be felt in the air. There was a single moment where Jaune wet the inner edge of his lips, before speaking. "Oh fuck it." He said, before planting his lips on Pyrrha's own. It was only supposed to last for a second or two, but wanting more, Jaune extending the kiss, and having met no protest, quite the opposite actually, as Pyrrha took hold of Jaune's head, the blond boy ran a hand up Pyrrha's side until he had a hand underneath the back of her half tank top.

Jaune came to the first sign of perceived resistance, as Pyrrha pushed him away. "Sorry. I…" Jaune began, before shutting up.

"Sorry about what?" She asked, before pushing his back into the bed and crawling on top of him.

"Oh god."

A few minutes later, the blond cuddled up against the redhead, and buried his face in her collarbone, embarrassed. "I'm sorry." He muttered.

"Sorry for what?" Pyrrha asked, running a hand through his mess of hair. Jaune just looked up at her with a frown. Pyrrha just gently smiled. "Hey..." She said. Jaune hummed his response. "I love you." Pyrrha said, Jaune chuckled.

"I... I love you too Pyrrha."...

Qrow sat at the bar across from the inn, half drunk and needing more whisky. Turning to face the waitress, he held up his hand, and she noticed him. She brought the strange man his drink, and then her eyes went wide, as a new man, much older, appeared in the seat across from the drunk. Qrow took his glass, then turned to look at the far wall, only to see the facially disfigured elderly man sitting across from him. He was wearing a black cotton suit, and heavy jacket, with black tinted aviator sunglasses inside of a dimly lit bar… He was either a douchebag, or blind. But more interestingly was how he got up to the second floor of the bar without Qrow noticing.

"Do I know you?" Qrow asked, before sipping on his drink. The man hummed.

"You sound exactly like she described you would. Gruff, downtrodden… Drunk." The man said.

"Who's she? Look, I already had a talk with Raven, if she sent you, tell her to fuck off." Qrow said, leaning into the table.

"I'll not leave thee, thou lone one, to pine on the stem, since the lovely are sleeping, go sleep though with them…" Qrow had heard that poem before, it was years ago, almost a lifetime, but he couldn't place where it had come from. "... Thus kindly I scatter, the leaves o'er the bed, where thy mates of the garden lie scentless and dead." Qrow's eyes widened, as the man took off his shade's revealing the burned cavities where his own silver orbs used to sit.

"You knew Summer? How could you?... Is she…" Questions flowed like water from Qrow's mind, too many to form a proper sentence.

"Yes… I knew her. But that time has since passed. I need to know something... I was fortunate enough to find you, and as I understand it you are following her… Where is Ruby Rose?"

Author's note.

Well that escalated quickly. Between the Arkos moment and finding out that Rot knew Summer Rose somehow, we've got a lot to unpack in a very short time.

Now for the details of Jaune and Pyrrha without basically the porn, because a detail will come up later. So for one, Pyrrha is not a virgin in my story, if she ever was one in the original doesn't really matter, but it's implied that she's not so much as gone on a date because of her status. So in my version, super stardom and meeting fuckboy fans earlier in her tournament years before she became idolized as basically a goddess, led to one night stands with a few guys her age, but she avoids that now quite obviously, and Jaune is the only man she will ever love. Fuck all of the NTR people who think Pyrrha would ever get with Cardin, that is not cool. Two, she has a half ring glans piercing. Sounds weird, but for her that's basically a free ahem... tool... anytime she needs it, kept tucked away from prying eyes.
