Izuku looked at himself in the mirror and patted himself down to look presentable. It hadn't been too long since they started dating, but so far, it seemed like everything was going smoothly. The incident that had occurred with Setsuna and the joint training mission helped him realize he loved her more than he thought he did. Though he could have done without her being in danger of her losing her life.
Looking at himself one more time to check for any discrepancies, Izuku deemed himself worthy to meet Setsuna.
It was a Sunday, and she had bought the tickets a few days ago to a dinosaur museum, a place that was far away, but manageable by the bus. Once he stepped out of his room, he found Mina leaning against the wall outside his room with a serious expression on her face.
"Uh... What brings you here, Mina?" Izuku adjusted the collar of his shirt.
"This might be a rumor or something, but is it true you're actually dating Setsuna Tokage?" Mina asked as she put a hand to the side of her mouth like they were trading secrets.
"Who told you?"
"One of the girls from Class 1-B! Ever since we did the two joint training sessions, we got closer to them as a whole and I talk to some of them regularly now!" Mina exclaimed, returning to her usual cheerful self.
"Oh, that explains it..." Izuku mulled over what to say next. He didn't want to tell her straight up since she liked to gossip about love interests with others, but everyone was bound to find out about their relationship soon enough. "I... I'm actually dating her. Now, don't go around telling everyone about it!"
"Me? Tell everyone? Come on! Who do you take me for? I think you two look perfect together! The green hair and even matching green eyes!" Mina squeezed her hands together and smiled, though her eyes had a whole different story to them.
Izuku pointed at her accusingly. "You're going to tell everyone, aren't you...?"
Mina laughed as she waved her hand around in the air to dismiss his allegation. "Don't worry for even a second about it! Now go on, I'm sure Setsuna is waiting for you!"
"I feel like you're stalking me..."
"Nah! I mean, who else would dress up nicely other than to meet someone? And for you, it's 100% to meet Setsuna!"
"Maybe you should invest the time you spend talking to me into studying to get better grades."
Mina laughed, but cut herself short as she shook her head. "Unfortunately, romantic relationships are way more fun to see. More so than studying! With that being said, tell me if any more developments happen!
As Izuku descended the stairs, he turned around to look up at her and smiled. "Well, we did hug and kiss a while back."
"What? Hold up! When?" Mina shouted, perking up in interest.
But before Mina could get an answer out of him, Izuku was already walking away from her with a laugh. She was probably going to tell everyone he was dating Setsuna, so he might as well poke fun at her now to get preemptive revenge.
When he stepped outside, Setsuna whirled around and greeted him. "I'm beginning to think I have to break your door down every time we go on a date because you're always a few minutes late."
"Please don't," Izuku said, a grimace sitting on his face, though it disappeared quickly.
Setsuna smiled and held her hand out to Izuku, who grabbed hold of it. "Obviously, it's a joke, but if you keep showing up late, I promise you it'll turn into a reality."
"I guess I need to save some emergency funds to save up for a new door starting now." Izuku joked.
Setsuna giggled as they walked down to the bus stop. Together, they got on the bus and sat down on the seat with Setsuna claiming the window side. Izuku looked out the window with her while she pointed at some interesting things that caught her eye.
"So… I know it's a bit early to ask you about this, but what are you going to do when we graduate?" Setsuna asked.
"Uh... If my memory serves me right, did we have anything planned when we graduate?"
"No, we didn't. But I was just wondering what you would do if we never dated seriously. What would your plan be after you graduate?"
"I actually don't know... Probably establish my hero agency right away with the help of a loan and pay off the debt little by little." Izuku looked over at her and asked her the same question. "What about you?"
"Like most heroes, I would train as a sidekick under some well-known pro heroes and then branch off on my own."
"Or that. That would be the next best option if I can't start my hero agency successfully on my own."
"Then what about now? Because I know you're dying to start a hero agency with me!" Setsuna stuck her tongue out.
"To put it in a business perspective, I'd say we should allocate all our money on constructing one as quickly as possible and... Ah, hey!" Izuku raised his hands up in defense as she lightly bonked him on the head.
"Oh, Izuku. What am I going to do with you~." Setsuna teased with a laugh as she ran her hand through his hair.
"Heh..." Izuku blushed as he looked down at his seat.
Smiling at him, Setsuna leaned against the window and looked outside again before she fell asleep. As for Izuku, he noticed with every bump, her head banged lightly against the window. Izuku slowly reached over and closed his hand over her shoulder to direct her body closer to him. From there, Izuku watched as her head instinctively leaned against his shoulder. Satisfied with his action, Izuku felt safe enough to sleep with her.
It was only a blink of his eyes, but now he was at their stop with Setsuna shaking him gently. She helped him up to his feet by dragging him by the hand until they were in the museum. Setsuna talked to the customer associates and showed them her phone. They scanned the tickets and let both of them through.
"Ah, to see history unfold before my very eyes! And to think we came here for the seasonal special too! But first of all!" Setsuna ran up to one of the snack booths and bought both of them a dinosaur-shaped popsicle.
"Oh, right. I forgot how much you liked dinosaurs." Izuku said, taking the popsicle from her hand. "And thanks."
"Anything for you!"
Izuku smiled as they sat down on one of the tables for eating before continuing their journey inside the museum.
While they walked around, Setsuna would burst into rooms, often leading to both of them apologizing to the people she crashed into. Izuku had a hard time following Setsuna, who was overly excited to see the dinosaur's skeletons scattered across several rooms and floors. However, for the few seconds he got to see them, he could see the height was massive on them.
Izuku leaned over the railing of the Tyrannosaurus Rex and studied every detail of the bones. He couldn't tell if it was a replica or the real deal preserved, but even if it was replicated, it still copied the exact size of the real bones. It was impressive to see how they looked back in the days.
And that was one of the many times Setsuna interrupted Izuku as she grabbed him by the arm and dragged him into another room, where the museum featured a paid service to put on a headset and experience the ancient days when dinosaurs roamed the world. A virtual reality world.
Setsuna was obviously overjoyed to find out they had such a thing. She couldn't contain herself as Izuku tried to calm her down, but eventually, their turn came. Izuku got a spot along with his girlfriend after she paid for the service, claiming she wanted to experience everything herself with her own hard-earned money.
When he put the headset over his eyes, he entered a digital world, where the dinosaurs stomped around him and roared while the winged ones flew around in the jungle. It was a wonderful adventure he took a brief detour from the museum for. And right after they finished their virtual reality experience, Izuku was dragged into another room where they held a cinematic documentary about dinosaurs. Though, Izuku had a feeling Setsuna already watched every single documentary or any movie related to dinosaurs with the way she nodded off a few times.
When he chuckled, Setsuna woke up right away and rubbed her eyes in sleepiness. After they finished the movie, Setsuna stepped out of the room and yawned.
"When you're a dinosaur enthusiast like me, you find all the inferior quality documentaries pretty sleep-inducing." Setsuna smacked her lips and giggled.
"That was low quality?" Izuku asked. He was sure it was high quality, though the CGI was a bit off.
"I have to show you all the movies and documentaries I bought. It's around 40 hours of watching time, so when you have time, visit my dorm room!"
Izuku turned pale as he felt the pressure of watching almost two days' worth of dinosaurs crush him. "I think I'm good..."
"Haha! Your expression tells me you don't want to watch it! Don't worry, I won't put you through that torture!"
Izuku let out a sigh of relief until he heard what she said next.
"I'll let you off the hook if you watch 20 hours!"
Izuku slapped his hand over his face and groaned. "I should have known you would not let me off that easily!"
Setsuna snickered at his reaction and walked next to him as they made their way to the next room to enjoy the rest of their time at the museum. After the action-packed day, they visited the gift shop. Setsuna's eyes sparkled as she looked at every single souvenir she could buy for the low price of 6,000 yen, which wasn't cheap.
"Ah, not that, Setsuna! We should put that one back or else my wallet might break!" Izuku beckoned for her to give up the expensive dinosaur figurine, but she kept it close to her chest.
"Why don't we do it like last time? I'll pay for half of it!"
"Last time, I bought five dinosaurs for the full price!"
Setsuna's eyes widened in surprise and then she put a hand over her mouth as she tried to hold it in, but couldn't contain the laughter spilling from her mouth. "You're right! And for that I'm thankful, but just this once! Please!"
"I... Ugh, fine." Izuku shook his head as she celebrated, but a grin was present on his face. Besides, he could easily make the money back from his work-study.
As they walked out from the museum with a plethora of souvenirs, Izuku held most of them in bags and followed Setsuna down to the bus station.
"It was fun today, so thanks for that, Setsuna," Izuku said, his vision glued to her while the setting sun caused it to be dark.
Setsuna turned around to stare at Izuku with her eyes twinkling in excitement. "Wasn't it? I can't wait to see what next week has in store for us!"
"Same!"
While they headed home after a long day at the museum, Izuku leaned back in his seat and let out a content sigh. When they first started dating, he thought something would change with the way they talked. Maybe they would be more awkward around each other. But thankfully, Izuku didn't have to worry about their relationship changing too much with the way Setsuna acted. And nothing would change between them as week after week passed by.
They would just focus on one day at a time.
About two years later, Izuku and Setsuna would graduate from U.A. high school. Then, they would start a hero agency of their own before they married a few years later.
Author's Note: Yay, I finally completed another story!
I feel like it was a good ending for what I envisioned. I wanted to make a short story about Setsuna and Izuku during the start of December last year, 2020, and I finally got around to writing it in October 2021 and it's done! Though it's not really short since it's still about 15,000 words, but I digress!
Now, it's probably time to write a story between Izuku and Fuyumi, which is also another story idea I have yet to start writing that I've been thinking about since last year December... Well, I'll get to it soon enough!
Also, thank you! Thank you all for sticking around to the very end! I couldn't have finished this story without every single one of you reading it and giving me encouragement! Love all 200 of you!
With overflowing love from your favorite writer, Out4Lunch!
