Chapter Twenty
Kagome gave a grumble as she felt light kisses on her face, cracking open her eyes she saw a grinning Parker. He moved away now seeing she was awake, but not before giving her one last kiss, but on the lips this time.
"Good morning." He gave a brighter smile as she sat up with a huff, sleep still heavy in her eyes as she rubbed them trying to make herself a bit more awake and aware of the world around her.
"Someone dropped a dress off from my mother." Parker told her, gesturing to the dress that he had put away so it wouldn't get dirty.
"Your mother?" Kagome asked, blinking. She didn't expect anything from the woman, but she did need something to wear since hers were ruined now. Soaked in blood and everything else from her being taken and fighting the colossals. She didn't think she could salvage them on how they were now.
Parker gave a fanged grin, "She heard about you from me when I had been on the search for you. I had come here to ask for my Father's help." He paused, pushing some of the hair out of Kagome's face.
"She is glad I found someone, and this is a gift welcoming you." Kagome nodded at this. She would take the outfit, she didn't have anything else...and if it was from his mother, she wouldn't turn it away.
"I will have to thank her." Kagome told him as she stood up and went to where Parker had gestured. She gave him a warm smile as she took the clothing and admired the feeling of the fabric. It was smooth and felt like silk. It was a mixture of gold and white. It was very pretty, though it reminded her a bit of a mix of Egyptian and Roman wear. She grabbed the small leather underwear she had made and put those on before slipping the dress on. It felt good against her skin, but...it showed a bit more skin than she expected as a portion of her back was on display, not the whole thing, but her shoulder blades and half her back. Her legs were exposed as well. But all in all the dress was beautiful.
"It shows a bit more skin than I am used to..." Kagome told him, as she pulled at the sides of the dress, hoping it would cover a bit more of her legs, "The dress is beautiful though."
Parker grinned, looking her up and down. The dress did look good on her, he liked the color gold on her. It suited her. He would definitely have to make sure males knew she was his though. Kagome was beautiful and the dress showed that off.
Parker came forward and wrapped his arms around her waist, nuzzling his nose into her neck. He was trying to take in as much of her scent as he could. He had a feeling the next few days would be very busy with them setting up their new living arrangements.
"So what are we doing today?" Kagome hummed as she let herself lean into his embrace. She was comfortable, and being with him was easier than she thought it would be. She had put up so many walls because of being hurt...when she finally let those walls down...it was a different experience. Kagome wasn't used to being loved like this...but she wasn't going to complain. She enjoyed it.
"I am going to officially introduce you to my parents...and then Father and I are going out to see what homes are open for us to move into. We have to see what is able to move in and what supplies we are going to need." Parker told his mate, as he finally let her out of his arms, a sigh leaving him.
"Sounds like you will have a busy day..." She hummed, eyes bright as she let him lead her out of the bedroom. She had made sure to hide a couple valuables on herself. The jewels for one and a couple of pieces of leather if she decided she wanted to put her hair up and out of the way.
"Will I spend it with your mother then? Or...?" She trailed off, as she was led down the hallway and into what looked like a garden area and a table was sat down and both parents were sitting down.
"You can decide. If you want time alone you can go back to the room or see the city." Parker wanted her to go where she wanted and get used to the city that would now be their home. He put his hand on her back, leading her further into the garden and to the table where his parents were sitting and talking. They had seen them, both standing up to greet the two.
"Hello." Kagome smiled, giving them both a small nod. She didn't move from Parker's side. She gave the mother her attention.
"Thank you for the dress. Mine had been ruined so I do appreciate it." Kagome shifted, feeling a bit uncomfortable. She never had to worry about meeting the parents before, so this was definitely new territory for her.
The woman laughed, coming forward and wrapping her arms around Kagome, "I am glad you liked them. I knew you wouldn't have any supplies since coming here wasn't planned." She pulled back and put her hand on Kagome's cheek.
"Aren't you a beauty too." Her smile grew as Kagome's cheeks heated up at the compliment. The woman's purple eyes glittering with amusement as she heard Parker give her a look.
"Thank you..." She didn't know how to respond to that compliment right off the bat. She knew looks were something not a lot of the women of this world had, but still it was weird.
"My name is Meimi. As you know I am Parker's mother." She took a step back motioning for her to sit down. Kagome did, Parker sitting next to her. The man, Parker's Father, sat down. He was silent, but she could tell he was taking in the situation, listening to everything.
"My mate, Ezra, the Leopard King." She introduced her mate to Kagome who gave a nod in greeting.
The King, Ezra, gave her a small grin in greeting.
"Should I call you by title or name?"Kagome asked, looking to the male. He blinked, she caught on fast. She was sharper than most females.
"Either works. You are our son's mate, so both would be fine unless we are in a trail..." He trailed off. He could tell this female was different, but he didn't know why.
Kagome shifted a bit in her seat as Meimi spoke up again, "Kagome...not to be rude. What tribe are you from? The other girl, Bai, had said she was from the Ape Tribe..."
Kagome sat straight at the mention of the other girl, "That is a bit more complicated..." She told them, eyes going to Parker who gave a nod to say it would be best to tell them.
"Though, can you tell me how Bai is doing first?" She wanted to know what happened to the girl. She only saw her unconscious when they were 'rescued'.
Meimi smiled kindly at the girl, "The Ape King has given her a house to reside in. Muir, one that saved her from the Eagle tribe, is staying with her for the time being. Bai hadn't wanted to remove the spousal mark from the Feral..." Kagome's fingers twitched at this. The girl really was something, but it wasn't her life. If she wanted to stay tied to the snake it was her choice, but she had dragged her along into her drama, which she wasn't happy about.
"I see...so this Muir is going to be...protecting her?" Kagome had a feeling Bai is just going to keep bringing drama. She liked the young girl enough, but she was a bit selfish and had some growing up to do.
Meimei nodded, Kagome gave a small mutter in thanks for being told that information. She would see about going to see the girl once her and Parker had settled in. Bai was safe and protected so she didn't have to worry.
"As for where I am from...it is a bit of a story." Kagome looked to Parker, he motioned for her to keep going. She didn't know if these two would believe her but she took a deep breath. Explaining what she was and that she ended up in this world. How Parker found her and how humans are a bit different.
"Humans are very interesting then." Meimi grinned as she looked Kagome up and down, "So you can have more cubs then...I am looking forward to the litters you will have." Kagome blushed deep red at this hearing the laugh from the men at the table.
"I didn't know who to tell or if you would believe me." Kagome glanced to the king, "You had seen some of my powers in play already. I am a Miko...or Priestess...so barriers and healing are also something those powers deal with..."
She was going to be honest. She didn't want to lie. Nothing good ever comes out of lies...not even small white ones.
"I saw your weapon. It glowed. You took down colossals on your own." The King spoke, voice film as he remembered seeing the female before him. Covered and blood and ready to take down her prey.
"I think we shall keep this information to ourselves for now. Though we will share it if needed." The King said. Kagome understood, she was something they hadn't ever seen so they would want to keep information to themselves until they knew more.
"Thank you for telling us. If a time comes that we need to tell this information we will." He gave a nod to Kagome as he stood up, "As much fun it is to talk to you and learn...it is time for us men to go out and acquire a house for you two..."
Kagome gave a hum and pulled out the small jewels and handed them to Parker who smiled softly at her. He could hear his mothers laughter seeing what she gave him.
The Father gave his mate a soft look before Parker leaned down to give Kagome a kiss, "I shall see you later tonight. I will go about making sure preparations are done."
Then Kagome was left alone with the other woman. She had a feeling her day was going to be spent answering questions about humans and about herself. But she couldn't complain. She was kind and seemed to be genuinely interested.
Kagome took one last glance at Parker as he gave her a wave before he went out of sight. She was definitely glad she met him. He made her life better.
