CHAPTER 9

It was comical. A 10 foot tall polar bear man crammed into the largest tent in Raven's camp, his girlfriend Weiss Schnee sitting on his lap, with Yang and Halcyone sitting next to him. Raven pinched her nose at the ridiculousness of the situation, before she gave everyone the rundown, on Ozpin, his secrets, of Salem, and of Magic. Yang acted very non paused about the entire situation, keeping an extremely level head throughout the ordeal. Halcyone and Weiss were inquisitive, and Siniy… Was acceptive. When Raven left the back side of the tent, gesturing for them to follow her, Siniy muttered a word in his language. "Grandma Witch…" Siniy said.

"Baba what?" Halcyone asked as the three girls stood up to exit the tent, Siniy holding the back flap open for them.

"Baba Yaga… This Salem, mistress of the grimm, her name is spoken after her title in the Cyrillic pantheon as Grandmother Witch Salem… A woman who cheated our heathen gods into giving her everlasting life as they had, so long as she consumes the hearts of children… It is an old boogeyman story… One nobody but the children of the arctic circle should know. To hear that your mother knows it, Yang, means Salem is real." Siniy said, before following his friends outside of the tent.

"Where'd the cunt go?" Halcyone asked, looking around for Raven. Siniy looked up into the trees, and sniffed twice.

"She has not left…" Siniy said.

"Whatcha' mean?" Halcyone asked.

"Do you believe in magic?" Siniy asked, earning an odd look from his friends.

"Darling, I know you're religious, and you've swayed some of my own beliefs, but there's no such thing as magic." Weiss said, placing a hand on Siniy's forearm.

"Yeah, we have dust and semblances and stuff that seems like magic, but it's all a science." Yang said.

"Who is to say what we see as magic is not just a science we do not understand?" Siniy said, pointing to a bird perched on a tree just outside of camp. "Why do you not show them Miss. Brawnwen?" Siniy asked, as the bird jumped off the tree, flew into camp, and in a small puff of black smoke that faded instantly, became Raven herself. Yang Halcyone and Weiss stepped back, as Siniy hummed in amusement. "She is an animagus… An shapeshifting witch." Siniy said with a small laugh.

"How?" Yang asked in bewilderment.

"I can give you the answers you seek, or you can ask your uncle Qrow." Raven said. Yang looked at Weiss, then over to Halcyone.

"Take us to Qrow…" Yang said flatly. Raven sighed. Yang was a lost cause to her, ever as stubborn as herself, but with all of Taiyang's naivety.

Raven led the four to the front of camp, where her bandit's had brought Halcyone's car. "You mother fuckers!" Halcyone shouted, as she saw the big red white and blue FFR Anima forces rebel flag that had been painted onto the roof, the same one Pale used to hang in their room. Running over to inspect her vehicle she found it had been hotwired and there was a mess of cables that had been torn out of the underside of the dash. "This is bullshit!" Halcyone shouted at Raven.

"Consider it payback for you and your friends ripping up my camp." Raven retorted before she cut open a portal to her brother. With an eye roll and a grunt, Halcyone, Yang and Weiss got into the vehicle. Jamming the key in the ignition, Halcyone started the General up, and inched forward towards the portal. Raven turned to look at Yang through the driver side window as Siniy walked through to the other side to clear the way should anyone be near the opening. "Yang… If you side with Qrow, I may not be as kind the next time we meet." Raven said, the later half of her sentence being drowned out as Halcyone revved the engine.

"What was that? I couldn't hear you!" Yang asked in a mock question, before Halcyone revved the engine again.

"The car's too loud!" Halcyone shouted. Raven opened her mouth to speak one last time, before Halcyone popped the clutch and did a burnout, filing dirt up behind her as she sped through the portal. Once the General was gone, Raven sighed in frustration.

"This is why I didn't want kids." Raven muttered.

As it turns out the burnout was a bad idea. Halcyone nearly went over the edge of one of Mistral's many pavilions, and the only thing that prevented Halcyone, Yang and Weiss from a fiery death roll down the mountain, was Siniy planting his foot on the grill guard. He slid backwards about a foot, but stopped everyone from going over. Looking over his shoulder, then at Halcyone, he chuckled. "There's a cliff."

Halcyone tossed back her head and laughed. The near death experience was the only one she needed for the day. Backing up, and putting the vehicle in park, the three girls got out of the vehicle and were met by a bewildered Qrow. Yang hugged her uncle, and Halcyone shook his hand. Qrow had met Halcyone before in loose terms at Taiyang's, and initially was under the impression she was just Yang's friend, but showing up in a strange car, decked out in woodland camo, with his niece after a supposed trip across anima, that raised a few flags. "So… Who exactly are you again?" Qrow asked. Yang cleared her throat.

"Uncle Qrow, this is Halcyone Lacquer… My girlfriend." Yang explained. Qrow looked between his niece and Halcyone, then shrugged. Yang definitely did not have Tai's taste in women.

Siniy grunted, and Qrow tensed up. He remembered the bear man that literally folded him in half a year ago, and Weiss, the girl he did it for, was with him too. "Is this where our friends are staying?" Siniy asked, pointing to the house behind the General. Qrow sighed… It was as good a time as any to reunite the siblings and team members.

Author's note.

And so we've reached the end of Volume 4. The paths walked separate will soon intertwine once again.

Now that we've seen everyone in their new outfits, I'll tell you all the theme by which I selected who wore what on Team SPGL. Clayton, used to be a Redcoat, now is in colonial blues. Pale, used to be a confederate, is now in Union blues, Siniy who used to be in a GI uniform is now wearing the uniform of the Wehrmacht, Halcyone, once she got her camo, was a gulf war marine, now wearing Iraqi republican guard woodland camo. The new outfits were supposed to all be the other side of the wars the original outfits were based on, be it for better or for worse. Clayton is now living free and on the road with Ruby and JNPR, Pale broke away from his racist roots, Siniy stooped low and was willing to commit a terrorist attack on the Schnee manor like the Germans did to every bordering country in the outbreak of WWII, (Also THICC armor), and Halcyone was out with Yang doing war crimes. (intentionally knocking out Shay D. Man's teeth is 100% torture, and you would get tried at the Hague for it.) Now the changes aren't permanent, they'll get new outfits come V7, but you'll have to wait and see.
