Ch 3

Natsu was pissed.

He kicked a rock in his path as he walked through the woods. That rock sliced through the air and embedded itself into an unfortunate tree. Stupid Lucy.

"How can she just think about leaving Fairytail like that? What about all the things we went through together?" Natsu shoved his hands in his pocket as Happy caught up with him. "I mean the choice here is obvious! Us, her FAMILY, over some random guy with a lousy fashion sense!"

"Natsu don't you think you're being just a little unreasonable here?" Happy flew above his partner. When Natsu shot him a dirty look He quickly added. "I mean Lucy hasn't even said she was going to leave Fairy Tail yet! You know just as much as I do how much she loves this guild! She's just worried about hurting an innocent person!"

Natsu slowed his pace and scowled. His anger simmered a bit.

"Yeah yeah- but you'd think she'd believe the words of her partner and best friend over the words of some random guy she only met today." He continued to sulk as the duo entered their messy home. Happy noticed Natsu didn't want to talk about it anymore and so decided to drop the conversation.

Natsu clenched his jaw as he threw his bag on the floor and sat down on his hammock.

The whole situation infuriated him. Why? Maybe it was because The guy was a dragon slayer too. Or maybe it was the fact that He looked like someone Lucy would consider going out with. But them being mates? That was so ridiculous Natsu could hardly laugh.

That guy didn't know Lucy. He didn't know a single thing about her. Hell Natsu would bet this Sting guy didn't even know she existed before today.

Natsu kicked off his shoes and noticed his grubby hands. Reminding him to dig around in his pocket until he pulled out a small bag. Inside were a pair of earrings that shined like the stars. Frowning, Natsu fingered one of the pair thinking back on how he got it.

It was back on the mission he joined Erza on. Ezra and him had been requested specifically by Blue Pegasus to help them in tackling a mission that the Magic Council had requested of themselves. Personally Natsu would have preferred Lucy and even that ice idiot to join them but he barely got Master to agree to letting him take Happy along.

It wasn't easy getting these earrings, especially since they weren't a part of his mission at all. He just happened to see them in this room filled with shiny and old stuff like this while in search of their deadly owner. He didn't know that the room was being guarded so heavily and he didn't know he was going to have a tough time fighting a Porcupine like Mage while trying not to drop the small damn jewelry. Natsu had nearly lost them once he got buried under a pile of rubble. The whole thing was a huge pain in the ass.

Natsu laid down as he dangled the earrings in the air. They really did shine like stars. Happy landed on his stomach and looked at the earrings.

"You forgot to give them to her…" he looked disappointed. Happy wanted to see Lucy's reaction too. He had helped lots in getting those!

"Hmm" was all the fire mage could reply with. He was just so exhausted when he got off the train he decided he'd rest a bit at Lucy's place and give them to her once she got back to her apartment. However… he ended up falling asleep and then well… that happened.

"Come on Happy...let's take a bath." Natsu put the earrings back in their bag and sat them on the shelf next to them. He'd give them to her later.. when they were both in a better mood.
