John Watson is the new Doctor on the children's ward at St. Bartholomew hospital just when he starts to settle in he gets stuck with a particularly hard case that no one else can solve, when the child gets worse they call in Sherlock Holmes diagnosis extraordinaire and for John his whole life changes.

It's another night and a new case and as usual, John is a step behind. But there's one thing he's learned in his association with Sherlock Holmes, it's always best to let the master detective lead the way, even if it takes them to the dance floor.

Summary: Somewhere along the way, John had become the string that bound the frayed rope of Mycroft and Sherlock's relationship.
