Hisoka-a newly orphaned child in meteor city- searches for a goal in life. With an affinity for showing off, his talents are soon recognised by a travelling circus. Intrigued by the wandering nature of the troupe, Hisoka decides to join, only to discover a vast world beyond his imagination. A/N: I tried searching the internet for fics about Hisoka's past but the only one I managed to find was Tokyo Ghoul mangaka's. Even then, it showed an already 'corrupt' Hisoka.

I was surprised actually. I really expected to find a lot of them.

Tbh even if we never figure out his canon past you won't find me complaining. He's a wild card and an enigma so keeping his past shrouded in mystery works.

Despite that, since I finally managed to get my older sister to watch hxh and she loves Hisoka's character, this is my gift to her. Now a bit about the story itself.

I took a good amount of inspiration from Tokyo Ghoul mangaka's 'fic' lol but it's still quite different from it.

Hisoka's a sociopath (probably)-- something I had fun researching. The main reason for being a sociopath is nurture rather than nature, so gotta give the boy a tragic past.

The current Hisoka's pretty crazy so it was a bit tricky figuring out how it came to be that way.

Still, I can't, in a million years, even hope to reach Togashi's level of writing skills, so it won't be super great. I did, however, put a lot of effort into it so I hope it's not super bad either.
